Ok, I've updated most of his stats. I need to pick two new spells for his spellbook, and update Nora's skills (and maybe her BAB, will have to check).
Yeah, you only have one more eye to give...
>_>
Or rather...

OK, I'm leveled except for my new 1st level spell. Mulling over silent image, vanish, charm person, or saving finale. I love silent image but the bardic verbal component for all spells makes it a little less attractive. Saving finale probably won't come into effect for a little while, but could be a game saver if it does. Charm person is always good, and eventually I'll be taking spell focus (enchantment), but the description makes it not so useful in combat. Vanish can be useful in the right place. Oh, and there's lesser confusion as well. Thoughts?
I removed the 375 gp from our party pool for the wand downpayment (we had this anyway without putting the additional 250gp from the radishes toward it). If we include the radish money, there is now 296 gp in our party pool - only 79 gp away from paying off the wand.

Gavriil |

Awesome! Level 2 and all I had to do was stab a spider twice. Thanks for carrying me guys!
Oh, and by the way, not only is there not enough room for all of us, BUT The beds aren't even separated by walls, so we get to have one big disgruntled SLUMBER PARTY!!! I'll bring the rom-coms and nutella!
EDIT: Oh, and I vote money from the kitty goes towards the wand and if it's all the same to you guys I'll take half my share. I want to get a few things and send some money home to mum while not breaking myself.

Talia Khavortorov |

Haha, I saw that, Gavriil. Well, I guess Talia and Gavriil will be sleeping together after all, in a manner of speaking.
Talia's not so down with rom-coms (not serious enough), but she's totally down with nutella! She'll bring the insufferable German cinema (actually, she loves rom-coms, though she won't admit it).
If you'd like half a share I think everyone should take one as well. I don't think it will impact things much - we should be able to get the wand pretty soon. I updated the group loot sheet to reflect everyone getting half share - 25 gp - if someone really objects I'll change it back. Make sure to add it to your loot!
EDIT: Charm person it is! Thanks, Magna and OGGM!

Magna ready!

Gavriil |

Gav's updated as well.
@Dregan: Do we really need more horror stories with the things we've faced so far? lol Gavriil's going to have trouble sleeping for a week after that giant spider attack.

Talia Khavortorov |

A mixed gender sleep over, surely we need a horror movie or two as well (:
Yeeeaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssss!!!!!
Ghost Ship of the Line
Cayden Claus
Dawn of the Dead God
The Numerian Chain Saw Massacre
The White-Haired Witch Project

Are you missing a con bonus?

Magnitofera Skeller |

Yeah, I was, but it is considered in the profile.
Gavriil: missed changing your "tagline", still says "Male Human Swashbuckler 1"

Gavriil |

*bats his eyes*
I have no clue what you're talking about Magna!
Thanks for the heads up, though!
Ok, if we're watching horror movies I'll bring my footie-pajamas and my stuffed fox Lora
>_>

How many days are you spending here? So we can keep the calendar current... As far as gear, assume that any standard items less than 150 gp are available from Oleg right now. Anything else, including magic items (like a wand) will take one week to arrive at the trading post. Oleg will buy items back from you at 50% of retail.
What do you all think? Since Nat doesn't know very much, and seems to not be withholding anything, we could leave as early as tomorrow.
Also, about the bandits: we seem to have a couple of approaches suggested:
1) wait until nightfall, try to take out guards, and then if successful, take the remainder, and if not, hit them while confusion reigns
2) ambush bandits as they go a-banditing and whittle them down.
Another thought:
3) A hybrid approach: get the two bandits that go out during the day to hunt, and then see what the camp does. If they put up an increased guard, we can wait until morning and pick off more stragglers, if they go out. If they seem unconcerned about the first bandits' disappearance and go with the regular 2-man rotation, we can proceed with option 1 above.
EDIT: Bought a longsword and buckler, sold dead man Hap's shortsword.

Magnitofera Skeller |

What about some of us going into the camp as a new bandit group, using the stag brooch we got, while others attack from the outside?

Dregan Hirscherz |

Any of the plans sound fine. If possible scout a bit to find out numbers so we know what plan to use. Without more information I would err towards taking out the hunters then hitting that night. Magna plan probably has the most risk and reward. If Kessel knows all the people with the brooches or there is some kind of code word we lose our surprise and risk being ambushed ourselves if she is very cunning, but if they buy the story we will be among them for a very easy ambush.
Dregan isn't buying anything until he can afford a new bow.
He is keen to get into the bandits, he'd prefer leaving in the morning but wouldn't complain if others wanted a day of rest first.

Talia Khavortorov |

Happy holidays, everyone!
I'll be buying a few more trail rations as well. OGGM, do we have some elk left over that can be smoked or preserved and turned into food rations? Perhaps Oleg and Svetlana would split the food in return for preparing it?
I'll get the the map updated hopefully tomorrow, when I'm able to get back to my PC. Is the hex with the radishes forest?

Perlivash:Pseudodragons are tiny cousins of true dragons, and are playful but shy. They often only vocalize in chirps, hisses, growls, and purrs, but can communicate telepathically with any intelligent creature. If approached peacefully and offered food, they are usually willing to share information about what they've seen in their territory, but threats or violence make them flee.
Pseudodragons are carnivores, devouring insects, rodents, small birds, and snakes, though they sometimes eat eggs, and most also enjoy butter, cheese, and fish. They either hunt on the ground like lizards or look for prey on the wing like a raptor. As smart as a typical humanoid, they do not enjoy being treated as pets and prefer being treated as friends. They are wary of evil folk but can bond with sorcerers and wizards as familiars, and some have befriended druids and rangers or partnered with good dragons as scouts. Pseudodragons will serve as familiars if they approve of a spellcaster's personality (and if the spellcaster takes the Improved Familiar feat), but often also bond with those whose company they enjoy or who have proven themselves true friends. A pseudodragon might follow another character in this manner for days, weeks, years, or even a lifetime if the creature is treated well, provided with food, and generally well-loved.
Upon reaching adulthood, a pseudodragon's body is about 1 foot long with a 2-foot tail, and weighs about 7 pounds. A pseudodragon egg is the size of a chicken egg, but leathery and spotted brown, and a mating female lays 2–5 eggs every spring. A clutch of pseudodragons (the collective noun—not to be confused with pseudodragons from the same brood of eggs) usually consists of a mated pair and several near-adult offspring.
Tyg Titter Tut: Grigs are tiny fey with the upper bodies of elf-like sprites and cricket bodies below. Their humanoid features vary wildly in individual appearance, but they usually wear their brown, silver, or green hair long and uncombed. In most cases, grigs' skin bears gold or green stripes or markings, and their legs are brightly colored. They prefer to eschew clothes entirely, wearing clothing only when such apparel has desirable magical effects. Grigs stand 1-1/2 feet tall, and weigh just under 10 pounds.
Grigs make their homes in thick woods alongside rolling hills, often near bodies of water. In every grig community may be found a clearing where the group observes the moon during its many lunar holidays.
Despite their tiny size, grigs are eager to confront evil and vanquish ugliness—as a result, grigs often find themselves in trouble. They rarely attack directly, instead preferring the element of surprise. In combat, grigs maintain their distance and either depend on their spell-like abilities or fire their longbows from afar. Grigs use their movement to their advantage, frequently jumping about their enemies or flying beyond their reach.
Gigs excel at music, and can create lively ditties simply by sawing their legs against their bodies. Grig music often stirs people to dance, even when the grigs don't enhance their music with supernatural compulsions. In addition to loving music, grigs enjoy the visual arts, especially paintings and sketches, and they often decorate their homes with bright colors and delightful images.

So, about that bandit plan: I agree with Naralesh about attacking under the cover of darkness. If we can locate any guards (surely they have a watch of some sort), I can try and take them out with a sleep spell. Then, if they save or we are noticed, we take the fight to them while they are still disoriented. A judicious use of color spray and grease should take out a good amount of bandits. Talia will stay behind/near Magna for the fight, cause that lady is tough, and Talia needs a blocker to use her whip effectively.
Something like:
Magna , Naralesh*, Gav
Talia Dregan (ranged support)
*Naralesh then drops back for ranged support after casting color spray
So, basic plan of action:
Dregan scouts ahead, no armor on giving him a stealth of +9. Perhaps he can get situated near the bandit camp before nightfall and then watch what happens, and then retreat to us before the raid starts.
If a watch is in effect, Talia casts sleep (range 100+ feet)
Then the group, in formation, moves into the camp proper, and in a glorious show of murderhoboness, ends the bandit threat before the camp can mobilize.
I also think we should approach from the southeast towards the main part of the camp if possible, rather than going around the side with the wagon and river.

So here is an interesting conundrum: if Color Spray relies on sensory overload to work, then how would it affect sleeping opponents?
The PFPRD says: 'A vivid cone of clashing colors springs forth from your hand, causing creatures to become stunned, perhaps also blinded, and possibly knocking them unconscious.'
And: 'Sightless creatures are not affected by color spray.' Is sleeping 'sightless', and when sleeping, aren't they already unconscious?
Just some thought-starters. Unless you meant after they woke up and the fight started, in which case, nevermind.

Magnitofera Skeller |

Bash their skull while they dream is better than using color spray.
Let's save the spell in case they awaken.
Magna is at her best at melee range, and has darkvision.
Too bad she doesn't have stealth.
Maybe start with the sleep? That would let us get many out of the action at the end, and the pick the ones that resist.

Oh yeah, I figured it wouldn't work on the sleeping. I meant that color spray should be used in the (perhaps inevitable) case when our plan goes belly-up. Then Naralesh is on crowd control duty, flanked by our two baddest of the bad head-smashers and pointy-thing-stickers-with.
I would say though, that color spraying the sleeping should give them very fantastic dreams!

Talia Khavortorov |

I think we're on the same page - start with sleep, and hopefully take out anyone that is awake. Then, if everyone is asleep, it it easy pickings. If no one fails their save, or the alarm is raised, then we go in hard and fast and color spray/shoot/stab/smash everyone that we can before they really know what has hit them (and I'll like disarm someone or something :).

Talia Khavortorov |

So, there seems to be no objections? I suppose we can move on?

Talia Khavortorov |

1) Scout the area first, trying to locate the camp. Periodically throughout the day we'll climb a tree with a good vantage point above the canopy, looking for cook fires. I can take 10 on a tree and have a 16 climb, or someone else is welcome to climb if so inclined. If Dregan wants to go sans armor, he'll have a stealth of +9 (I imagine you'll have to make that call, OGGM), otherwise, he's got a stealth of +6. Dregan's perception is +8. I nominate him to scout, but obviously without his player here, maybe Talia should scout instead?
If we don't want to risk Dregan's hide, Talia's got a stealth +6 and perception +4.
Anyone not scouting should stay back, say, 60' from the scout? Enough to close the gap with a retreating scout in a couple of rounds if trouble arises.
2) Assuming we can locate the camp without being seen, our scout can keep a watch as night falls to see what is done, if anything, about a night watch. Then the scout makes his way back to the others, and we wait for the bandits to sleep. The others can be a couple of hundred of feet removed, perhaps with scout #2 in between scout #1 and the rest, to keep an eye on things. So, for example:
Bandits ---->Dregan, hiding 60' away ----> Talia, 60' from Dregan ----> Rest of party, 60' from Talia
This way, if things go bad, Dregan can retreat, Talia can see this and let the others know (and cast sleep/grease to cover Dregan) and the others can move forward to meet the bad guys.
3) If we remain undetected, we move forward as a group, with a front line of Magna, Naralesh, and Gavriil, and a back line of Talia and Dregan. Naralesh casts mage armor on approach. Once 110 feet out from the guards, if there are any, Talia will cast sleep, hopefully knocking out any watch. Then we move in battle formation and kill / subdue everyone while they sleep.
We approach from the southeast, travelling northwest towards what looks like the main bandit camp from the feys' drawing.
3b) If we are unsuccessful, because we miss guards, set off a trap, or guards fail their saves, we move forward in battle formation laying down ranged attacks and spells, and Naralesh color sprays the first grouping of bandits in range.
Then he shifts back to ranged support and we kick arse.
3c) Everything goes wrong: the bandits make any saves, we set off a trap on approach and a giant scythe swings down from the trees decapitating Talia, Naralesh loses his other eye to another critical bow strike, and gets thrown, barely alive, on the midden-heap, Magna gets dropped before she can act due to some extremely good rolls by a couple of level one warriors, Dregan is surrounded and surrenders and Gavriil runs away to find the next group of adventurers traveling down the road from Restov...
Of course, option 3C is very bad and the rest of the plan I'm sure could use refinement.

Gavriil |

That plan sounds good to me, Talia. If things go awry we improvise. Which they most likely will with our luck. Just one other thing to add: if we can distinguish who their leader is we should take them out first. I don't think a loosely tied group of bandits will like to keep fighting if they see their leader die.

Talia Khavortorov |

Agreed wholeheartedly. Leader dies first, if we can make it work.
Keep in mind: if this is happening at night, it will be dark under the trees. It will be a new moon (thank you Golarion Calendar!), so the darkness will be near total.
Well, shucks. I guess going in under the cover of darkness won't work. Perhaps we attack during the day then and just rush the camp weapons and spells blazing? Two bandits should be gone hunting, and Tig's numbers estimate backs that up, so we're probably looking at 6 bad guys/girls. I can start casting sleep the first full-round to take out as many as possible, and then Naralesh can get more with color spray as we get in close. Stabby types can take save-makers and stragglers.

Talia Khavortorov |

If they have a fire that'll help with seeing.
That's true. If they have a watch, they'll probably need a means to see by. But how do we get to them in the dark? I imagine that Magna may be able to, but the rest of us will go crashing through the underbrush, causing a ruckus, running into trees, etc.
Then again, it occurs to me as I type that perhaps that is what we should be doing.
What if we get within, say 100 feet of their camp, and settle in until everyone is asleep. Then we use ghost sound to make a suitably scary or enticing sound (a bandit calling for help? the sounds of a bear's roar? scurrying through the brush?)?
The sound would be 25 feet from us, and then would presumably draw some or all the bandits to investigate, with light, whereby we could color spray a lot of them and ambush the rest?

Talia Khavortorov |

Something else: I don't add things like 'wind roaring through the trees' just for colorful prose...
OK, so I assume ranged attacks are going to be difficult. Spells will still go off.
How do you all feel about luring them to us? Diversion, get them close, spring out of the bushes and whack them?
