So, going ahead and posting this here for approval, so that if you aren’t kosher with it, DM, I can rethink my advancement plans.

I plan on continuing Arcane Duelist until 6, at which point I will go Noble Scion PrC to 10, then any remainder levels back into AD.

The cohort I gain will likely accompany me, but the followers/NPC-hort will not. Though, I’d appreciate it if either you (or one of the other players, perhaps) roleplayed the Cohort, so I’d have a more alive, organic feeling companion.

I am leaning toward a Hound Archon as my cohort: one with a personal vow to never use the “Everyone hop in a bag of holding and I’ll teleport us anywhere” schtick. May use it to take gear to and from our city, but using that silly loophole for free teleports always seemed unrealistic and Power-Gamish to me.

Otherwise, Darian would see it as a friend, and mechanically use it as a mount (while using its Shapechange ability into a Large Canine), and allied combatant.

If you disapprove of any of the above, just lemme know and I’ll consider other options.

He had said in the Recruitment Thread in this post here that Leadership was okay, so long as he approved Cohorts in advance.

I'm just going ahead and running it by him for down the road (way down the road in this case, level 8 for me), to anticipate working it in if he allows it. As well as the PrC. This way it isn't a rushed decision on the spot and then suddenly POOF, out of nowhere a random hound archon appears and requests to work for Darian. Heh

What Darian allocates his Followers to will be depending on what eventual Kingdom Role he fills. But I can totally see Isabel organizing these redemption candidates into a little group. You better start naming them, Isabel. Ha!

Too busy to update tonight sorry. The holidays and the run up to New years get very hectic down here.

Something I'm discussing with the other table. They are finding the nature of play in this book a bit of a grind. Which I agree with. A sandbox isn't that good for PBP, it seems to be just encounter after encounter, and they haven't had the luck of running into a CR6 from the random tables yet. :)

What we are talking over is speeding it up with me resolving minor encounter automatically, letting you deal with the more involved and scripted action. Really just hurrying through the first book to reach the more role play and intrigue friendly parts of the AP.

How do you feel about this?

I'm wondering if so many Kingmaker AP's fail due to the nature of the first part of the AP?

I've seen tables where it works pretty well but I think GM discretion is advised. If its a fight we're likely to curb stomp (particularly given our larger party size) then I'd agree with just hand-waving the encounter. Half a dozen goblins won't be much more than an irritant for us at this point. Something like the Shambling Mound on the other hand... We level up if we can kill it right? :D

To make it clearer, Oleg's now has the same level of stock of a small towns store. Now that the furs and hides aren't being lost to the bandits he's building up a good level of credit back in Restov.

Your new sword is there, Oleg is pleased to see it snapped up so quickly. He starts planning to get a few more weapons in since they sell so well.

It's been over two days since I sent a PM to Rok, sadly no response. So I've picked another from the applicants to fill the martial role for the party. Once he's settled in and introduced himself to you we'll continue.

I'll say that Rok received a letter from her old mercenary company. One she felt honor bound to respond to, and she has had to leave the group for a while. This way if she does get back we can add her in again.
