Sovereign Court

I don't know how much PFS any of you play but I am involved in a PFS campaign, trying to run through large parts of season 6/5 with a sustained group.

However, we have lost a few members and need a couple of new recruits.

If you are interested, a link to the recruitment thread is here.

I've been having a blast and hope we can find players to keep it going. still at level one right now.

Sorry. I am curious about trying PFS, but my cup is just too full atm.

You know Kriger is on the side of "fight". :)

And I'm loving Malaswyn's take a couple posts up. We don't negotiate with terrorists! Heck no! (Okay, maybe she's not quite that bad, but you get the gist) ;)

Me personally, not really a PFS fan. I tried it once long ago and didn't really find it to be my cup of tea. Sorry, bud.

I am PFS curious, but I haven't had time to look into it.

Thanks for your input, guys. I know that in character Kalsgrim is the ruler and his word is final. But out of character, as players, I want to make sure you all have input on the direction the party takes just like it was a regular dungeon crawl or exploration. Especially when it can change the direction of the campaign overall. :)

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

7 Cure serious potions

3 Lesser restoration potions.

Just making a note for it.

So how about Mal take 1 of the CSW potion and the rest of us have 2 each. That way, it's even and we don't have to wait another day or so figuring out who gets the "extra" one. :P

As far as the other 3, we can all take 1 except Mal. But only because he's the healer and he made a good point about it in the gameplay. :)

And Kriger did want the owl figurine but I guess it's too late for that now. So much for that pet owl he's always wanted. Sheesh. Thanks, Mal, thanks for NOTHING. Talk about destroying a man's dreams. (Kidding, only kidding) ;D

I'll give it props, though, it's a pretty neat little ol' item.

Sorry man.

I am always disappointed by figurines because you get so few uses, so I don't tend to rate them. Why can't everyone think like me?!

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

I know, right? I was reading that you only get to use the Giant Owl form three times and then the statue becomes worthless. Really?! I don't understand why Paizo would go that route. Spend 10 grand on an item and if you use it's cool ability a number of times, it becomes worthless. Man that is a mystery to me.

Whereas the Golden lions(a pair now, and we all know lions are far more powerful than a giant owl(giant eagle stats)) cost 16 grand and never become useless. Blows my mind on their thought process.

I've actually never used a figurine so when I read up on them, I was fairly taken aback at the crazy discrepancy.

HA! That's funny. This is the EXACT reaction I had. I would've never guessed that at all. I was pretty floored when I read that. I know you live in Canada, I think. Is that right? Of course, now I'm curious. If you don't mind me asking, what is your first language? I'm going to guess French.

And feel free to keep said information to yourself. I know it's really none of my business and will gladly leave it as such if you prefer it. I can totally respect that. :)

I will third that: no idea.

And I'm an English teacher.

Male Elven Magus (Spell Dancer) 11

After living as an expatriate for 11 years I find that alot of the people who learn english as a second language have a much better grasp on the grammar and sentence structure than native speakers.

You're doing better than fine OM ;)

Oui, French it is.

Does Kalsgrim have any movement options?

I might be able to summon a flying mount. Or use wind walk

He has boots of the cat and a potion of fly. If he needs to go after the barbarians, I was thinking he'd run along the battlements, leap off the wall and go after them on foot.

Raveneau, you will take an AoO from the giant. All good?

Also, where do you wish to DD: among the Tigers or ahead of them?

Male Elven Magus (Spell Dancer) 11

Ahead of if possible.

Here's an Acrobatics to try and avoid the AoO: 1d20 + 18 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 18 + 4 = 37

AC against any AoO should be 34 as well as he has the Mobility feat.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Does the DD take up Kriger's turn? I'm really not that familiar with the spell so I don't know what kind of action it takes up if any.

And should Kriger roll and Acrobatics check? Will roll just in case:

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31

Kriger's AC with Mobility is 29.

You may also bring one additional willing Medium or smaller creature (carrying gear or objects up to its maximum load) or its equivalent per three caster levels. A Large creature counts as two Medium creatures, a Huge creature counts as two Large creatures, and so forth. All creatures to be transported must be in contact with one another, and at least one of those creatures must be in contact with you.

Could go either way? - it's clearly an end of turn for the caster... just not sure about the cast-ee

Kriger can act after the DD.

A game I'm in is missing a few players. The DM prefers to ask people we know before opening recruitment.

Zeitgeist is a great AP with a rich and complex plot lines. It takes a bit of time to feel comfortable in the story.

PM me if you'd be interested. I'll put you in touch with the GM.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

What is Zeitgeist? Is that Pathfinder?

Zeitgeist is a third party AP for Pathfinder. You can find more about it here.

Male Elven Magus (Spell Dancer) 11

Zeitgeist is pretty cool - it's got an edge of steampunk to it to go with the intrigue side of things. Another time I might, but I've got enough real life tidbits going on to not have the time at present.

Male Elf Cleric 13: AC 25, Hit Points 99/99, Perception +21, Initiative +8 Channels left 5/5 Current buffs: magic circle of PfE, comprehend languages

It sounds cool but I’m at my maximum number of manageable pbp.

Please note that I’m away from Friday morning to Sunday night.

No worries. Perhaps Paizo's developers will get the bugs worked out by them. It seems they have been working feverishly on them for more than a week, but I am still having problems staying logged in long enough for more than one post at a time.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Yeah that ain't no joke. Man the boards are annoying. I click on gameplay posts in my campaign tabs, go away from it and come back, and the same number of posts pops back up.

Man I hope they get it fixed soon.

Duchy of Frieland after three years.

The Tiger Lords mentioned "the hills." On the map I have linked, I don't see Fort Drelev and its surroundings. Is it obvious to us what hills he's referring to? Did I miss a link to a more recent map?

If anyone else has questions for him, feel free to jump in.

It sounds to me like we might have to track the fleeing barbarians. If that's the case, we'd best head out ASAP. Does anyone have any thoughts on that?

You don’t know the area surrounding the fort. After the battle at Tzatzilfjord (spelling!?), you beelined to it. The barbarians will tell you there are hills north and north-west of the fort.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Yeah I'm thinking tracking the fleeing barbarians.

Just keep in mind you have a few loose ends at the Fort: keys, leadership succession, exploring the rest of the fort, the Sisters' tower, and the two dead kids.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Yeah right, right. Yeah, let's do that first. Man I totally forgot about all that business.

First we've got to take care of the dead kids. I think that should be priority number 1.

Everything else can follow however it needs to, I think. Personally, I would go with exploring the fort next but I'm good with whatever.

Male Elf Cleric 13: AC 25, Hit Points 99/99, Perception +21, Initiative +8 Channels left 5/5 Current buffs: magic circle of PfE, comprehend languages

We just need to secure the kids. I can't raise them until the next day.

If we explore the place, secure to locale, pal up with the locals and generally get this place organised then I could cast commune the next day, with some well prepared questions to locate our enemies.

Scrying is also an option.

Locate object might also help?

Can we use scrying to find the hostages? Once we liberate them, we have more breathing room to deal with the rest of the Tiger Lords.

Male Elf Cleric 13: AC 25, Hit Points 99/99, Perception +21, Initiative +8 Channels left 5/5 Current buffs: magic circle of PfE, comprehend languages

That would work. The daughters will want to be found So should deliberately fail the will save.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Okay, here's the breakdown:

I've got a handy haversack(5 lbs) and bag of holding(15 lbs) and 60 arrows(9 lbs). I stuck a two of my weapons in the bag of holding. All I have combined is 70lbs. Taking all those items off and keeping the bare minimum(Weapon/armor/magic items worn) leaves me at 28. And 33 is a light load with a 10 Str. 70lbs is a heavy load. Man a 10 strength stinks.

Man there are a LOAD of minuses with a heavy load. So basically we need someone to carry the bag of holding, handy haversack, and the 60 arrows.

Or we can just leave them there on the floor and get them when we come back. And if we don't make it back, I'm thinkin' we're probably not gonna care about those items any more. :P

I will be travelling and likely unable to post between Wednesday and Monday.

Male Elf Cleric 13: AC 25, Hit Points 99/99, Perception +21, Initiative +8 Channels left 5/5 Current buffs: magic circle of PfE, comprehend languages

Or, I could cast ant haul on Kriger?

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Hey, that would work. That'll solve my carrying things problems.

Please note that I'm going on vacation this coming Sunday for two weeks. I expect I won't be able to post very often, if at all.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Man o man poor Kriger. First he becomes weak as a kitten and now he's blind. If too many more saves are required, it may just be the death of him. Or worse! HE could be the wart infested, 6 armed, smells-like-a-giant-and-probably-becomes-big-as-one before it's all said and done. :P

And, by the way, I have never heard of the word "hubristic" until I looked up synonyms for the word "cocky". I like that word "hubristic". It's catchy. And score one for Javell! Between Mark and this other player I'm in a couple games with, it's like "Battle of the Big Words" and I have to spend time googling what most of that crap means. I finally got one of my own. Yes! *Fist pump* :p

Good for you. It's nice to see you so bombastic. ;)

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Lol!

Jocularity is always refreshing!

Sesquipedalian loquaciousness is always an aspirational goal...

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Lol!

Killin' me, man, killin' me. :P

Please note I'll be travelling from Friday morning to Sunday night, with little to no opportunities to post.

OM, how would you feel about dropping Summon Guardian Spirit feat?

Not sure what to replace it with yet but I just wasn't really enjoying it. Too much complexity for too little excitement. I was imagining some RP potential but I don't think it will work.

No problem. Let me know what you would prefer instead.

Male Elf Cleric 13: AC 25, Hit Points 99/99, Perception +21, Initiative +8 Channels left 5/5 Current buffs: magic circle of PfE, comprehend languages

I was thinking of summon good monster as it adds variety and the NG-aligned monsters sync up with a class ability (I can summon them as a Standard Action, although there aren’t any at SM6).
