Alrighty then, I'll just do all but yours :)

Take your time, SdF. Kalsgrim is using this pause to good use. As the righteous rage boils up in him and he scrambles to his feet bare chested and sword in hand, he ponders. Would this sort of ambush have been possible if we were sleeping in tents? And why haven’t I taken the time to get a chain shirt from Oleg yet? Great mysteries to contemplate indeed….

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4

I was wondering about the tent thing as well. If any of you want to give me a very detailed description of your night time sleeping arrangements, or any kind of camp plan feel free to. I've only been going with the basic "bedrolls around a campfire." You can do it anyway you guys like. Anything you can afford and transport that is, heh. Buying a pavilion to erect each night for everyone to sleep in may not be a terrible idea. Though it might make it more inconvenient to get to the fighting outside the tent and rescue any wounded guards...

Well, to gain the desired effect it would have to be a big enough pavilion for the mounts as well. Personally I think you handled it the best way. Without having a reason to use tents, I think at least half the group would prefer to be under the stars. If the weather was worse, that might change.

I could do the alarm spell, but at this level it only lasts 4 hours, and it's only good for a 20' radius, so wouldn't effect arrow shots. If anyone has "tiny Hut" on their spell list we could purchase a wand of that and not worry about it. Or we could buy some guard dogs.

Dogs are a good idea, and perhaps that may be a good sideline for our team members who are more inclined in that area...

The last combat bring sup an interesting question. Since Janku was at 0 hit points before he began his channel (Standard Action) did he get it off before he passed out.

If you're disabled and take more than a single move action you drop to -1 HP, but the action was intended to cure, so do we drop to -1 then the channel brings him back to 3, or does he go to 4 and never pass out? Is he prone or still standing?

In all my years of playing I don't believe I've had this particular circumstance.

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4

I think you would be healed before you passed out, because it's during the standard action you are being healed, not after. You go into the negatives after that extra action usually.

Woot !! Finally back up and running eager to read what I missed and post. I figured I would start by posting my return. As I predicted nightmare with AT&T. I don't know what their problem is, but once again took forever.

Been checking out my MoFF threads by any chance?

Yeah, I am pretty jealous of your gm skill. I'm a bit hesitant on pacing, I don't like leaving anyone behind.

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4

I've noticed if it get's slow it turns out most people are really waiting on either the GM to post or someone else to do something.

Hmmm, I suppose I could just post in the ooc about I'm going to try to get the pace at a bit more a brisker rate.

I'm back!

Let me catch up on the reading and I'll jump in.

We had great fun!

M Human Cavalier /1st

Awesome, on both accounts.

So I survived the 7th annual 'Geekend' with my EQ2/WoW guildmates.

It turns out, as we've gotten older, we can no longer put away 75 lbs of beeftips the way we used to. I think I have a beeftip hangover...

Ugh. I need a vacation to recover from my vacation!

Wow, that was quite the ambush at the river! Kalsgrim just may not survive this one. And frankly, that would be okay. Kal's seen too many times already when friends have taken the brunt of the attack while he stands back with arrows. This was part of a concerted effort on his part to be more in the forefront.

Not that I am trying to get Kalsgrim killed or anything, but I do have a back up just in case... Though it would be all kinds of awesome of Kal came back as a lizardfolk, or a bugbear!

[threadjack]
How many of you would be interested in playing in a homebrew Eberron campaign, where I would be digging, every now and then, from different modules like Carnival of Tears, Expedition to Castle Greyhawk (eventually, of course), etc, for ideas and pre-made content. Races would be pathfinderized, but also dreamingwarforgized. We could play here or on another site better suited for PbP.

I know most of us are already super involved and SdF has offered Serpent's Skull in the Fall, but it itches...

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4

I have Book 1 of Serpent's Skull ^ _^ It's gonna be sweeet. I'm going to wait until my two Master of Fallen Fortress games get closer to their resolutions before I put up the call to arms.

I might be tempted, not really playing in anything right now. Would have to see though.

Gah! Kalsgrim is our crunchy moral center, we can't lose him!

I have cognitive dissonance, because it's probably the first time in 20 years of gaming I haven't wanted to kill the Paladin personally, but save the Paladin! :)

Boy things would get a lot easier for Janku with the Paladin gone...;-). (Just kidding. I actually enjoy the playing out of the difference in philosophies).

Well, he's not gone yet, minion of chaos. So don't count your griffons before they're hatched. :) As long as Ox and Lukasz don't post actions, he's still ticking!

It's Shrodinger's Paladin! Don't open the box and he'll never die!

Dude, I sometimes think that Janku has Tourette's. He's all quiet and then he just goes off on some street-preacher tirade! :)

I might be getting close to overextended. I'm not sure how long the Master of the Fallen Fortress is supposed to last, or if the Crypt of the Everflame game I'm in is on it's last legs...

Sample Eberron characters I've played on and off in Organized Play / Xendrik Expeditions, to give you an idea of the stinky cheese I've made in the past...

My favorites from that list include Justayn (Changeling Barbarian headed for Warshaper), Piet (Daelkyr Halfblood Warlock) and Eno (Halfling Ranger specialized in throwing alchemical stuff at people), and just about all of them wouldn't really work under Pathfinder. (No Warshaper, no Warlock, no Halfling bonus to thrown items, no Shaped Splash / Grenadier, etc.)

The Bard using Dragonfire Inspiration and the Cleric using Dragonfire Channeling were cheesetacular, but I made a saving throw against egregious abuse and avoided making the Command Critter Cleric of Onator with the Fire and Warforged Domains (able to rebuke and command constructs, including the ubiquitous homonculi and warforged of the setting, as well as fire subtype creatures).

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4

Oh yeah, need to make some changes to Servayn and Ox now that I have my hands on the APG.

To be honest, I've never really delved into the Complete guides (no one liked them at the table), so I don't have the eye for cheese (although that dragonfire feat was certainly uber-powerfull). Nevertheless, if you liked the setting, it would be fun to have you on board.

I've reworked all the races so that they are playable by PC: humans, elves, dwarves, halflings, uruks, goblins, hobgoblins, bugbears, shifters, changelings, warforged. No more half-elves or half-orcs. The uruks are the orcs and half-orcs meshed, but with a new name to better fit their illustrious background in the Reaches. Gnomes and halflings have been fused as a race. No psionics either, and Sarlona is redefined with two other races having built an empire: the dracoids (trolixes and kobolds).

I've reworked the dragonmarks too. First because of the changes in the races, second because I thought some were really uninteresting. Every race has access to one mark, the humans three, and they have four levels of power (least, lesser, greater and ultimate).

The adventure starts in Karrnath, where the players are summoned to the reading of their former military commander last wishes. I'll be working around war crimes and the protection of the fragile peace.

Lucky man!

There are some options for the "old" classes too, right, may we make some changes too once we are blessed with the knowledge of its content?

Sure thing, just like the last time you guys leveled I'll let you make changes.

I have never played any Ebberon, so not sure if that would be a hindrance. That being said I would be willing to give it a go if you want to. So jealous Scipion not sure when I will be getting the APG.
