KP, would you consider the Dreamspeaker alternate racial trait for elves to affect a Witch's Slumber hex?
Hey Keolin, just wanted to verify... I thought the snow/cold weather was only in the Border Woods. Or did the snow and all that make it to Heldren as well.
Also... (sorry for the double post) I added all the crunch to Krystae's profile. Let me know if you see anything that needs changed, Keolin!
@Elen- As I read it it would affect a witch slumber hex.
@Faelyn- the snow is only in the border wood, but it is colder in Heldren than it should be given the time of year (It is summer).

Well I see you guys are moving things along just fine without me. Nice to see the RP flowing already. I can see I will only have to be a referee here instead of having to constantly drive the story forward like in most groups...
Heh, don't relax too much, we might get so comfortable roleplaying that we forget to advance the story with out a little Dm intervention.

Helios, what language are you using for skald? I used google translate for Swedish, and for tien I used simplified chinese.
I also used to google translator to Swedish, I rather like that idea! Also, I'm glad we're having such excellent back and forth... I can't wait to see what happens when Krystae discovers Elen is a witch; should be very interesting... Mwa-hahaha.
Also, I think if we don't hear from Ragnar by Sunday that we look into replacing him? That will have been a week since the campaign started and no word from him. Just my two cents.
I am enjoying the role playing action of this group as well, also I agree with you a week sounds very reasonable.
You know, as long as we are using Swedish for Skald, I will always get a good laugh since I AM Swedish, and the translation is so atrocious.
It is a pretty poor translator thing -- if you prefer it, we can just spoiler the language, unless it turns out the entire party knows skald. Right now as far as I can tell only Brynjar doesn't, and that could be remedied fairly easily.
Poor overly distrustful Brynjar; having a number of people speaking a language he doesn't not understand is grating on his jaded psyche LOL.
I'll get a post up this evening or tomorrow sometime. Still a bit behind on all the paperwork that comes with moving out of state. Sorry about the delay.
It probably would have been ideal to wait until everything was settled before getting started, but my PbPs are one of my favorite ways to blow off stress in the meantime.

Work is a bit crazy and is probably not going to get better for a long time. Also running two tables takes more time than running one, so I've decided I'm going to slow the posting pace from every other day to twice a week, at least for DM posts. That should be sustainable and I really want these games to last. If I can post more than that I will, but twice a week will be my new quota.

Hey Keolin, wanted to check and see if we have the same view on this. Krystae has Cold Resistance 2... I'm going off the assumption that having a natural cold resistance like that would make her immune to natural cold weather effects. Obviously supernatural cold would affect her beyond her resistances, but I wanted to see if Krystae is going to need cold weather gear.
@Faelyn Sorry for being nosy, but did Krystae's latest conversation with Elen take place inside or outside of the inn?
Would make sense... Elen has permanent Endure Elements, but only for cold weather. While this won't give her cold resistance until later levels, I find it very flavorful to imagine her traipsing barefoot through the snow. :D
I would also want to know whether they're still in the Inn or outside where fewer people might overhear before I answer.
FYI, I changed Elen's avatar because I like this one better for her.

I'd say we can assume they are all outside.
I just want to make something very clear; my goal is not to disrupt the party or campaign in anyway, the goal of that particular post is to show how much of a mistrustful jerk Brynjar is, among other things of course. I am sure that you can make him see reason or bring him back in line.
@Faeyln- Cold Resistance 2, by my interpretation, would make Krystae immune to cold above 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Natural conditions, depending on the area, can get to -50, which would be beyond her resistance.
Okay. Good to know, I will make sure to pick up cold weather gear then. Also I will get a post in tomorrow afternoon. I think Krystae can assist in diffusing the situation.

Sorry GM, I didn't realize I'd been selected. I'll get caught up now.
You could meet our characters at the apothecary, perhaps, or on the way there. Or after we head out of the town. You're kind of an atypical character, so I don't know how you want to meet up. 'Let's meet in a tavern' doesn't work so well for a half-ogre madman who can speak to ghosts.
I think the "fall on face" entrance works out well, and explains how he got into town without really being noticed, considering there's a guy waving a sword in the street. :)
And as a note, Ragnar isn't actually Half-Ogre. That's just the mechanics I'm using. He's just a really big human. He makes the Ulfen look like tiny sissy people.
OK, since the GM has obviously approved of it. People might think he has ogre or giant blood if he's that big, though. Should be fun! Are you going rage prophet or something down the road?
It will be interesting to see what people think of Ragnar.
Rage Prophet might work for my concept, but it's rife with problems. I think this character is going to be made more organically than with a definite planned progression.

I'm liking the style of this game so far. Very real feeling.
I'm here, but because I decided to have Ragnar enter the game in a state of exhaustion, I'm limiting my posting until the group can get him somewhere warmer and get his blood flowing right again.
My first thought for this character was how I was going to keep the NPCs (and maybe the PCs) from driving him off as soon as they saw him. At this point think I've managed to make a giant, haunted madman into something mostly non-threatening and sympathetic, but my methods mean my ability to interact is limited.
So there's no confusion, when Elen showed her tattoo, nothing was shown that, say, a real-life bikini top wouldn't show. No bare breasts or anything.
Haha, well, Helios IS a bard, he probably SAW more than was there.
Or less, depending on if we are talking breasts or clothes.
Being a bard, he has quite the imagination. It's just his way of making sure it didn't run wild. Plus, his parents were pretty clear about being respectful of the ladies.

Well, also depends on where you are. In Kyonin, nudity isn't as big a deal as it is in Taldor or Cheliax.
