Looking for new players to play the Kingmaker adventure path.

Character need to be first level.

25 point buy as per page page 15 of the CRB(tables 1-1 and 1-2 on page 16)

All Official classes and races from the CRB, APG, UM and UC are acceptable. This includes Archetypes and Alternate Race Traits.

Hit points will be done like Step 8 of the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play(Table 2-2:Hit Points By Class on page 7)(full hit die first level and half hit die rounded up each additional level)

All player have one Hero Point.

All player may pick two traits but at least one must be from the Kingmaker Players guide.

Unless you are Playing an alignment restrictive class alignment really does not matter but I would like players to start with good or neutral character.

Player should be encouraged to look at builds(specifically Treantmonk's Guide). Not because I want you to play over powered characters but because I want to avoid buyers remorse with characters. Also guides tend to be closely vetted and thus stay closely to the rules.

We are going to try to stay very close to the rules. My rule is that if I don't know a rule during one session I make sure I know it by next session. Players are encouraged to help with the rules.

The game will be played using Maptools.

Most information regarding equipment, Hero Points, Experience Points and kingdom stats will be kept online in one or several google docs so players can edit and view this information between sessions.

id like to play

I'm deployed in Afghanistan and interested in playing but I know time is a conflict. Could you tell me what sort of timeline you are looking at to play or will that be party dependant?

Oh, look people already.

Ah, time. I knew I forgot something. I'm looking at: once a week on weekends.

During weekdays I was thinking of doing Kingdom rolls and other stuff that isn't directly related to roleplaying such as leveling and buying equipping characters.

Alright. I've been told Cavaliers work very well with this adventure path and have been wanting to play one. Would you like the character submitted here or would you prefer e-mail given this won't be run on the forums?

Yes submit characters here please.

I did read a forum post where a player complained about having a Cavalier something about the challenging ability and the other players not getting to fight I think.

I don't know if this would be a problem in our campaign but it is a good thing to keep in mind.

You should definitely make a Cavalier if it is the class you want to play.

The only problem with Caviler's I see is not being able to charge that often due to the many areas of difficult terrain, but there will be many areas where such a class would be invaluable.

just my 2 cps on them.

Good luck with the campaign :)

As I understand, Kingmaker is the most open adventure path to allow a Cavalier to be effective. Regardless, Cavaliers are equally effective on foot. Thanks, Karlgamer. I'll throw stuff together tonight via HeroLab.

i'd like to play, but would need to know exactly when on weekends we would be playing..work schedule and all that. I'm on EST.

Liberty's Edge

Edit:I'd like to play a Gnome Summoner.

I am in China though. 12 hours opposite EST. I am however free on most of the weekend. Never used Maptools before, would need to be walked through it.

How will wealth be used for 1st level?

EDIT: I forgot a player :D

Chaotik wrote:

Let's see I'm in Louisiana and I would like a good chuck of time for the game. So that's Central Time.

Previously I played from 2pm to 10pm. I'm looking of a good chuck of time like this on Saturday. This is a little flexible.

Jelani wrote:

If you can finagle a reasonable time that fits with the rest of us then I would love to have you.

GM Kyle wrote:

Use the average for Starting Character wealth. For a Cavalier it will be 175 gp. I wouldn't worry too much about not having a lot of starting wealth.

There is a rich Parents trait(900 extra GP) but I honestly think that you will find it useless by the second game session.

------------------------------

I think we should keep this at 4 players.

So far we have:
Jarred Henninger (?)
GM Kyle (Caviler)
Chaotik (?)
Jelani (Gnome Summoner)

If everyone who has just posted plays that means that we are set. It would be good to have a rogue type(skill guy) and a cleric type(Healer guy.)

i need to get Hero lab. I'll also need help with maptools.

This is my barbarian tank!

Jarred

Okay. We now have five people wanting to play so Here is a Google Doc so we can figure out who can play at what time.

Here.

I would like to keep the number of players to four but I might be persuaded to add a player ;)

I should also say that I would like players who are willing to work together.

This means that there will be no private loot.

All loot will be cut and pasted into a Google doc so that players can split up gold and equipment.

I'm sorry if anyone feels that this is to restrictive.

Precise Strike is a cool feet but it wouldn't be very useful unless you have another complain with that feet.

Unless you are somehow giving your animal companion that feet. I'm not sure how that works.

Fenisen is my character, so we only have 4

Liberty's Edge

Are you wanting people who can sit by the computer and chat/play in real time for 8 hour blocks? If so I'm probably gonna have to bow out. I could do maybe 4 hours on either Saturday or Sunday, if playing at night time the later the better. For example if we start at 6PM Saturdays CST that's 7AM for me on Sunday morning here. Doable, but a wee bit early.

Oh, cool.

Ya, I maybe not for 8 hours but probably for more then 4. I think that our times are probably not going to work out.

Thanks for trying.

Dark Archive

time won't be an issue for me. Horray TX timezone.

http://www.rptools.net/index.php?page=maptool

Are you planning on picking traits?

Dark Archive

yup,
Traits: Sword Scion, Threatening Defender

Here is Aden. Needs tweaking but you get the idea.

Click on Avatar to see char sheet.
Mechanics: TWF, Sword and Board
Specializes in Burst DPR (Challenge) and Tanking.
Has Bodyguard and Strategist archetypes. Works best with at least 1 melee buddy.

RL I can check back 3+ times a day and make 4+ posts a day (more on weekends) can do maptools but can't do skype

I just though about this we also need a way to do voice chat. We could do Skype or perhaps a Google Plus hang out.

We don't have to do voice but It would make it easier for roleplaying.

Everyone who wants to play should fill out this so that we can all keep track of how and when we can play.

What what it looks like everyone's a tank

Too many melee classes.

I really won't know until I get more information.

If there are conflicts then some people simply will not be able to play. For instance We will probably want to do some voice chat and if someone simply can't do that then they probably won't be able to join.

Dark Archive

I can switch to an oracles have a build in mInd for one.

I'll go ahead and bow out, I'm underestimating the conflict of working in Afghanistan. I'm going to have to hold off until I get home. Besides, this will allow another melee to step in.

Wizard

Str Ranger here. Already submitted a Cavalier, but if the group needs I also have Deacon.
He's A Human Diviner Wizard already built for a Kingmaker game which appears to be dying. Happy to play either. Click to have a look.

Mechanically, he's a Caster first, shooting for Eldritch Knight/Arcane Archer.
20th level progression is BAB17, CL19

He goes first (diviner power) lays down battle control/buffs as needed, then turns bad guys into pincushions.

Depending on how many Melee chars make it in I could quickly reskin him to be a Thassilonian specialist in either Transmutation (more buffs) or Conjuration (more battle control)

Which voice chat works best for the majority of you?

I'm not planing on doing this PBP so we are going to need a way of speaking to each other for and extend period of time.

Once we have that figured out we can start testing our connections and figuring out how this is all going to work.

Also If you haven't filled out the Doc:

Here it is..

If you're not in the Doc I'm going to assume you've bowed out.

Apologies. If you are definately not doing pbp then i have to withdraw Aden and Deacon.

Cheers

Karlgamer-

I'm definitely interested in joining this campaign with you guys if you're still planning on running it and in the set up phase. Pretty new to pathfinder, hopefully that won't be a problem. I'll submit a char profile here this evening. Let me know if you're still planning on running this!

BTW, have weekends totally free so playing via skype or whatever real time is not a problem. Look forward to it!

As long as I can get enough people(4 only) I will definitely be running.

I think it's great that you're a new player. You haven't yet been corrupted by bad play style. :)

Growing up in a small village on the border of the Stolen Lands, Devlin's upbringing was difficult, but close knit. His family and community were important to him and he heard many a tale of the days his anscentors roamed the lands in the south as their own. Devlin remembers staring for hours at his father's bow, passed down from his father. He'd spend the hours wondering if that bow had been used to protect family lands in the south.

As Devlin grew into his teenage years, he began to long for a return to his ancestoral lands. The teachings of the church of Erastil, popular among those living in his small community, were especially intriguing. Devlin joined the church and became a devout young cleric, seeing a perfect connection between the teachings of community and nature of Erastil and his long desire to see a return to the freedom of his family's ancient lands. Devlin sought training and scholarship in healing and community building, envisioning himself as the spiritual leader of a young, free community in the south. When word came down of the Rostland initiative to send parties into the South Devlin jumped at the chance to see what he could find of the ancient worship of his god and his lands.

Awesome! A back story and everything.

I'm going to put your name in my google Doc:
Players Information

Feel free to edit this information if I got anything wrong.

I will be using Google docs to keep track of EXP and equipment(So I know who has what item and where)

This might require all of you to have thee things up on your computer

Maptools (So you can see the maps and move your character around)

Skype (So we can easily communicate)

and a browser open (for referencing the PRD and keeping track of your equipment.)

Okay, I think I have a full crew.

We will be using Skype

We will be using Maptools

and unfortunately Hamachi
(because I can't port forward on my roommates router)

Roster of characters so far here

Character equipment here

If you have given me your characters sheet then I will put all of your equipment into this sheet before the game but if you want to make my job easier you can do it for me :)

I will plan on having the first game sat 4/14 starting at 2pm.

I would like to get with each of you to get maptools up and running before we all play.

Oh, and always download the latest version of software.

Okay, so far two people have managed to get connected to Maptools.

I'll try to get the rest of you connected before the game starts Saturday.

Were making Characters NOW!!!

If your interested in playing find me on skype: Karlgamer

Still looking for players.

I would be interested in creating a sorcerer with the sylvan bloodline for the campaign. Do you guys still have room?

I'm also interested. I'll work up a character outline and if you still need people, perhaps I can hop in. Will give you a look on Skype later this evening, or perhaps tomorrow, Karlgamer.

Here's my character sheet and concept if you have room for an additional person:
Trig Kale, Sylvan Fey Bloodline Sorcerer:

Trig Kale was born in the center of the stolen lands, abandoned in the wilderness as a baby and left to die. Her birth is shrouded in mystery, although there is some evidence that she is the daughter resulting from the union between a nymph and a member of the brevic nobility. However, a wandering band of gnomish explorers discovered her and, sensing the fey potency lying within her, decided to adopt her as their own. Trig was raised by this community of gnomes, moving from place to place the entirety of her childhood. Now that she has come of age, she has returned to the forest where she was originally born in order to discover the mysteries of her past and claim the riches that lie in her future.

Hopefully that's enough information. Please get back to me on whether or not you have any space. I'd love to play in the campaign, but I understand if you don't want to take on anyone new.

I have room. I just need people to show up.

My character submission is below. I am fine with longer game sessions provided I can attend; I've submitted this character in another Kingmaker campaign as well but received no response so far.

Maximillian Dreiden
Aasimar Sorcerer, draconic bloodline
Possible appropriate Traits: Brigand, Pioneer

Maximillian is a Gnostic, a follower of the Mysteries, one of the lesser-known religions of the world. As Gnostics are generally monotheists and believe in a single universal animating force, the Mysteries, they have been persecuted by powerful religious authorities on Golarion for centuries. As such they rarely practice their faith in the open and try to remain hidden.

Originating from the remote village of Amdahl, Maximillian is the third son of a local noble. As the first son inherits the power and the estate, and the second son joins the military, the third sons are traditionally sent to be educated as priests. Maximillian was sent to the monastery of Wahlendorf at a young age to learn the classics and return as a full priest of the Mysteries later.

Priestly life did not, in fact, agree with Maximillian. His talent for sorcery bubbled to the surface, and his teachers at Wahlendorf tried to mold it into the proper wizardly practices. This, of course, failed. In the end, after several years of pranks, mischief and uncontrollable magical outbursts, the monks had enough and sent Maximillian out into the world.

Malicious gossip in Amdahl had held for generations that Dreidens were descended from demons or such; many ancestral Dreidens had held a touch of the otherwordly power about them and Maximillian is no exception. What the rubes of Amdahl and Maximillian himself do not know is that not one, but two powerful beings bred themselves into the Dreiden family line: a deva and a gold dragon, centuries ago. It is rare that both those heritages would combine in one person, and Maximillian drew the (un)lucky straw.

Maximillian's trek through the world crossed many lands and many people; and he usually fled his current residence one step ahead of magistrates, city guards, creditors, religious fanatics and jelaous husbands. His unusual luck finally ran out in the city of Kuth, where he was arrested after a mass brawl erupted in an inn where Maximillian was winning a card game for high stakes (with a little help of magic,
of course). The authorities in Kuth proved particularly resistant to that old Dreiden charm, landing Maximillian in prison for life.

As fate would have it, this was not the end of Maximillian's journey. His prison transport caravan was ambushed by bandits while moving Maximillian into a new, secure prison for supernaturals and magic users. Maximillian escaped with his life in the confusion and sought his way to the River Kingdoms to start a new life on the frontier.

Maximillian is young and unruly; he wishes to explore the origins and the extent of his strange magic, and he would prefer to have fun while doing it. He has built up a chip on his shoulder against authorities in general and particularly religious ones, largely over his imprisonment and mistreatment while in prison. The opportunity to escape the iron grip of senseless, overbearing laws and priests was like a siren call to him. That, and the fact that as a wanted criminal, there were few other options available...

For sake of clarity, Maximillian's backstory and prison interrogation record are attached here:
