The insane buzzing almost worms into Carina's head again, but she manages to somehow keep her wits about her.
Round 2: Actions
Full-Round Action: Blast the wounded beetle with fire bombs!
She refocuses on the wounded beetle and throws some stronger bombs, hoping to at least turn the droning buzzing down a notch.
Ranged Touch Attack (PBS, Precise, Good Hope, Evil Aura): 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 1 + 2 - 2 = 24

Cuetzpalli cannot rage before making the save, sorry. Fortunately, you did enough damage to drop that beetle, so the save is only DC 23.
Cuetzpalli cuts down the rising beetle before it can strike at him. He then hacks brutally into the beetle that ripped into him a moment at, slicing open the top part of its carapace.
1d8 ⇒ 5
Carina's first bomb burns into the beetle's flesh. The second, however, goes wild and lands on the dead beetle's head right in front of Farrukh.
Reflex: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Farrukh, make a Reflex save, DC 18, to halve 11 fire damage from the splash.

"Watch where you aim those things!" Farrukh yells as he lays into the beetle.

Damage: 1d6 + 18 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 18 + (3) = 26

For ease of reference, the beetles' CMD is 38.
Shield of Lightning/Skin of Aegis/Dusky Rose Ioun Stone/Quick Runner's Shirt: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Ioun Stone's Reflex: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
Ioun Stone takes 5 damage, which is absorbed by its hardness, and is now a Smoky Rose Ioun Stone. ;P
Farrukh's head is caught right in the blast, and the stone orbiting his head barely whizzes out of the way in time to avoid being scorched. He the proceeds to hack into its head, slicing off what once was probably a wing but has since decayed and fused back into the beetle's hide. It releases a high-pitched squealing.

Not sure if well-versed applies; is this a sonic effect? If not, I think I made it anyway, since Cuetzpalli reduced the DC to 23.
"Hold on, I got you two..." Eben says, ceasing his strafing and running forward instead. He runs forward, placing himself just behind the Olman and Kettite tag-team, and makes a dramatic gesture in the air with his free hand, releasing some purple sparkles that sizzle and attract attention to himself.
Move action to move 30 feet, another move action to start Disappearing Act. DC 17 Will save by both beetles to not treat both Cuetzpalli and Farrukh as invisible. Using Requiem to affect undead, activating 23 steps as a free action.
"Andnowyoudon't!", he finishes, a little breathlessly, breaking into the first of his twenty-three steps.

Despite her earlier bravado, Astraden's ears are nearly overcome by the incessant clicking noises. It's mostly her desire not to have "wussy ears" that keeps her focused.
The priestess intones, "Olidammara, lozn mir heyln dem eyn," and steps next to Cuetzpalli. She presses a hand to his bleeding side and lets a burst of healing through him.
Scrapping sheltered vitality for cure 4d8 wounds.

The beetles shrug off the spell, perhaps being a bit too dimwitted to be fooled by it.
Round 2: Eviscerator Scarabs
The beetles continue their assault.
Bite/Claw/Claw Cuetzpalli: 1d20 + 19 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 19 + 1 = 371d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 14 + 1 = 351d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 14 + 1 = 21
RNG Why Do You Hate Cuetz So Much?: 1d20 + 19 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 19 + 1 = 321d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 14 + 1 = 22
Damage: 8d6 + 22 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 2, 2, 6, 4, 1) + 22 + (5, 4) = 551d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Farrukh again easily dodges and deflects the beetle's strikes, but Cuetzpalli is not so lucky—again the creature latches onto him and tears away a huge hunk of his flesh. It chitters greedily.
Assuming a 22 misses Cuetzpalli, he takes 63 damage (9 of which negative energy). If a 22 hits, he takes 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 additional damage from the claw crit. I assume a 21 misses regardless, but if not, that's another 1d6+5. Don't forget Astraden's healing.
Everyone make Will saves, DC 23, versus sonic mind-affecting. Failure indicates you lose your turn.

Combat over.

In spite of the fact that he's completely unharmed and never was even in much danger to begin with, Eben doubles over and lets out a loud, gasping breath. "I HATE these beetles!"

"Red, do you have any extracts or oils that might help cover Cuetz better than that armor? Those bugs seem to go through it like paper."
Possibly a barkskin extract? He only has an amulet +1.

lost arrow chances: 6d100 ⇒ (84, 42, 77, 31, 76, 90) = 400
He manages to find four of the six shots that went astray. He quite stubbornly keeps looking for the last two for a while until the incredibly obvious fact that they probably went down the big nasty pit is pointed out to him.
"So... what now?" He glances at Cuetzpalli, who is practically about to start dropping organs on the floor. "We've got to heal a little, obviously... then what? Should we call it a day? I don't know that I want to deplete our magic and healing reserves too much, in case we get vampires in the night."

Burned like three APs in the last fight, and it's just going to get worse as I run out of channels.

"Let's head back to the base, then. I'll prepare some better anti-beetle spells tomorrow," Astraden says as she starts up the stairs.
3 encounters ain't bad for an adventuring day. 4 if you count those vampire spawn :0
Assuming the group safely makes it back over the wall and to their base(ment), Astraden prepares a spell for comfort in the heat and casts it on the group. She also touches the left sleeve of her robe, and pointing to each group member makes their aspects considerably more pallid and dead. "We'll smell like vampire spawn while we're here. Hope no one minds that."
Communal resist energy lasts 4 hours for each of us, which will assuage the heat of the day for flavor if nothing else. Veil from my robe lasts 11 hours.
Will select new spells for the night once I know we make it safely back to base.

Only two encounters, wasn't it? The eyeball worm lady and her beetles, then the backup beetles downstairs. But hey, we spent time building a shelter and exploring the ruins; it's been a day.
Oh, KC, we never got the equipment listing for the eyeball worm lady.
