Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
The holy damage is part of that 3d6 on the end. I don't think he's including good hope.
Dungeon Kobold
The undead monstrosity flinches as the holy blade slices through the armor guarding her arm, cutting apart mummified flesh and brittle bone. But it seems resistant to the strike—the worms can be seen within gathering around the area, actually holding the arm together. She hisses. "Hver stal hámarki? Hver drap dauða okkar?"
These are less questions and more mantras.
The beetles have five-foot reach. By the way, that "resistance" is flavor for DR, not regeneration or fast healing.
The beetles crawl out of the opening and skitter down the stairs, still clicking in that strangely synchronized rhythm. The incessant chatter has a strangely hypnotic effect—the more they hear it, the more the heroes want nothing more than to get it out of their heads, to clutch at their skulls, anything to be rid of the maddening noise.
Each round, on the beetles' turns, you must make a Will save versus a sonic, mind-affecting effect.
The beetles rush around the party. The one on the party's right seems to willingly accept the reactive attacks from Cuetzpalli, but the one on the left actually seems entirely unaware of Farrukh's presence. It seems that whatever allows Nezzarin to 'see' Farrukh, it at least does not extend to the knight's allies.
Cuetzpalli gets an AoO.
The beetle to the east snaps at Eben, its mandibles lunging for the bard's midsection. Eben dodges out of the way on the eighth step. The beetle to the west targets Cuetzpalli, however, and he does take an agonizing bite to his leg. The mandibles sink into it, and he feels negative energy flow through into his flesh for just a moment, corrupting his very blood with necrotic energy. But at least it temporarily quiets the chittering.
Bite @ Cuetzpalli (dirge): 1d20 + 19 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 19 - 2 = 29 Damage: 4d6 + 11 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 6) + 11 + (1, 3) = 30
Assuming a 29 hits Cuetzpalli, he takes 26 damage from the bite and 4 damage from the negative energy.
Farrukh Al-Khatel
Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Do we have to make a save for each beetle? If so:
Will 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Holy crap, I may be in trouble if these things live more than a round. Thank heavens for Conviction. Good investment.
Our turn?
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
Remember, the saves bonus from conviction (+3) slightly overlaps the bonus from good hope.
Will (conviction): 1d20 + 14 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 14 + 3 = 32
Save us Countersong! Tanith's actions will depend on if Eben fails the save or not.
Dungeon Kobold
Ugh, I just wrote the opposite of what I meant because I was multitasking. One save. Each beetle increases the DC, but you still only need to make one. They're like shocker lizards!
Eben MacTeague
Eben doesn't have countersong. But if we're really, really lucky someday we'll come up against a pattern spell and I can Distract you.
Will+conviction: 1d20 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 3 = 19
Action Point: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10
Eben just manages to silence the chittering in his head.
Cuetzpalli
DR huh? Keep in mind a few things...
At 1st level, your melee attacks are considered good-aligned weapons for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction. Furthermore, when you deal damage with a melee attack to an evil outsider, you deal an additional 1d6 points of damage. This additional damage stacks with effects such as align weapon and those granted by a weapon with the holy weapon special ability.
Also Kelmarchen is a +3 weapon right now.
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/special-abilities#TOC-Overcoming-DR
So it's hitting as a good, cold-iron, silver, adamantine weapon. She still have DR?
Also, I forgot to add good hope above, and I added 1d6 too many damage since she's not an outsider (I assume). Should have been a 31 to hit for 37 good/silver/cold-iron/adamantine and 3 holy.
AOO (AS, BR, IS, PA, RA,GH): 1d20 + 21 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 21 + 3 + 1 + 2 = 462d6 + 15 + 3 + 12 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 15 + 3 + 12 + 1 + 2 = 392d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
AOO confirm (AS, BR, IS, PA, RA,GH): 1d20 + 21 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 21 + 3 + 1 + 2 = 472d6 + 15 + 3 + 12 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 15 + 3 + 12 + 1 + 2 = 392d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4
AC is 18 right now.
Will saves: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 181d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Dungeon Kobold
Ah, in that case, it overcomes! Strike one against the golf bag adventurer!
Cuetzpalli hacks into the beetle, severing two of its back legs. Worms and something like black wet sand drip out from the grievous wounds.
Farrukh Al-Khatel
Not knowing what better to do, Farrukh turns on the blender on the nearby beetle.
"Kill these things! That chittering is painful!"
Slash: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25 +2 from Invisibility, so 27 total, vs Flatfooted
Damage?: 1d6 + 17 + 2d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 17 + (6, 2) + (2, 2) = 30 Remove 2d6 if they're not Chaotic.
Bash: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25
Damage?: 1d6 + 18 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 18 + (5) = 25 Remove second 1d6 if they're resistat to Electricity
Bash Iterative: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Damage?: 1d6 + 18 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 18 + (4) = 27
Dungeon Kobold
I forget—does the +2 and flat-footedness continue to apply after the first attack? I feel like I should know this by now.
Dungeon Kobold
Farrukh finds his silver blades cut through the undead beetle with ease, his axiomatic blade cleaving through the carapace of the creature of entropy. It catches on to him by the second swing, however, and is able to bat away his klar both times.
Cuetzpalli
Need Tanith, Carina and Astraden now, yeah?
Cuetzpalli
Just before Cuetzpalli is overcome by the chittering, he looks at Tanith over his shoulder, and points to the beetle he hit. "BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he roars before doubling over and clapping his hands to his ears.
Sundakan
Farrukh finds his silver blades cut through the undead beetle with ease, his axiomatic blade cleaving through the carapace of the creature of entropy. It catches on to him by the second swing, however, and is able to bat away his klar both times.
Clearly I need a significantly higher attack bonus.
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
I'm kind of waiting to see if anyone failed their save vs beetle and needs a resurgence.
Carina Viera
Will Save (Shield Other): 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 11
The chattering seems to burrow into Carina's mind...
Will Save Reroll (Shield Other): 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 22
AP Boost!: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 Final Result: 24
...but the warmth of the cap on her head, combined with Eben's magics and Tanith's protection helps bolster her mind against it.
Round 1: Actions
Full-Round Action: Throw fire bombs at the most injured beetle!
The undine grits her teeth and glares at the grievously wounded giant beetle, yanking a pair of fire bombs from her belt and throwing them at it...
Ranged Touch Attack (PBS, Precise, Good Hope): 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 1 + 2 = 19
Damage? (PBS, Good Hope): 5d6 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 3, 2) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 20
Ranged Touch Attack (PBS, Precise, Good Hope): 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 19
Damage? (PBS, Good Hope): 5d6 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 3, 3) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 23
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
Oh, I totally missed that he failed.
Concentration: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
With the giant worm-eaten beetle bearing down on him, Tanith speaks a brief fervent prayer turning his skin to iron. Then, seeing his reborn brother-in-Kord reeling from the beetles' chattering, the big man mutters another, longer, prayer to the Brawler and touches the bloodrager's shoulder. "Fight through it Cuetzpalli! You didn't return from Ysgard to spend your time clutching your ears. Smash those rotting undead!"
Fervored Ironskin. Cuetzpalli can roll another save. Feel free to burn an AP too.
Cuetzpalli
Will save reroll+AP: 1d20 + 12 + 2d6 ⇒ (9) + 12 + (3, 3) = 27
Dungeon Kobold
The vials collide with the beetle's carapace and detonate, blasting it to smithereens. Bits of worm and sludge and chitin rain down from the sky.
This doesn't negate the effect, bear in mind—still need saves from Astraden and (thanks to Tanith) Cuetzpalli.
Dungeon Kobold
Alright, Gark's not gonna be back until the morning, so let's see if we can just move pastraden.
Will: 1d20 + 11 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 11 + 3 = 31
Dammit. Astraden makes her save and keeps her action. Okay, we wait.
Dungeon Kobold
Okay, scratch that. Gark just sent me directions.
Astraden does the cleric thing and recites a good and useful spell.
Recitation: Everyone gains a +2 luck bonus to AC, attack rolls, and saving throws for the next 10 rounds.
Round 2: Nezzarin
The knight of Kyuss lets out rattling laughter. "Hver drap dauða okkar? Hvar eru þeir sem börðust sýn okkar?"
She leaps to the side and lunges at Farrukh with her sword. As she does so, the bloated Kyuss worms in her eye sockets lunge out, gnashing at Farrukh's face!
Sword (elevation;dirge;flank): 1d20 + 24 + 1 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 24 + 1 - 2 + 2 = 361d20 + 19 + 1 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 19 + 1 - 2 + 2 = 21
Wormbites: 1d20 + 15 - 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 15 - 2 + 1 + 2 = 191d20 + 15 - 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 15 - 2 + 1 + 2 = 35
Clearly she needs a significantly higher attack bonus.
Farrukh rapidly deflects strike after strike, though two are close—only by virtue of the lucky blessing of Olidammara does he avoid a bite and a slash. It's not Norebo, but luck is luck.
Round 2: Cuetzpalli and Eben are up!
Cuetzpalli
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!!" Cuetzpalli roars, sending spittle flying at the undead knight. He slashes at her twice with Kelmarchen.
Kelmarchen (AS, BR, PA, RA, GH, Rec): 1d20 + 21 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 21 + 3 + 2 = 322d6 + 15 + 12 + 3 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 15 + 12 + 3 + 8 + 2 = 482d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 61d20 + 16 - 4 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 16 - 4 + 3 + 2 + 2 = 362d6 + 15 + 12 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1, 6) + 15 + 12 + 3 + 2 = 392d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6
If she doesn't drop...AP attack...
Kelmarchen AP attacl(AS, BR, PA, RA, GH, Rec): 1d20 + 21 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 21 + 3 + 2 + 2 = 402d6 + 15 + 12 + 3 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (5, 2) + 15 + 12 + 3 + 8 + 2 = 472d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3
AC is currently 20
Eben MacTeague
Eben casts another spell through his rod, seeking to avoid the beetle's bite in the process.
Casting quickened mirror image on the defensive.
Casting defensively (DC 19): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24
As he splits off 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 extra images, he drops the rod and holds out a hand in the air. Between one breath and the next, his bow appears in his hand. "Do your thing, buddy..." he says, as Forzamele's opalescent glow suddenly grows to encompass the entire longbow.
Using Forzamele's leaping ability to call it to hand as a free action, and Forzamele casts weapon of awe on the longbow.
Then, heedless of his proximity to the beetle's jaws, he opens fire.
Because I can't 5-foot step on the stairs, right? So I'll just eat the AoO.
Manyshot+PBS+Prayer-Rapid Shot: 1d20 + 14 + 1 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 14 + 1 + 2 - 2 = 35

damage+PBS+Weapon of Awe: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 + 2 = 13
And while doing so, he still answers back Nezzarin's mad call. "Við drápum dauða þinn ! Við drepa alla dauðsföll ! Dauði bráðnar undan okkur !" The musical sound of Forzamele firing arrows (sounding for all the world like a cross between a harp and glass harmonica) somehow provides an even stronger backdrop for Eben's words.
Continuing dirge of doom & dance of 23 steps. And really, you're using Icelandic for an ancient language of death and maddness? That's... okay, this is a land where people eat hákarl, I guess it kinda fits.
Casting mirror image as a swift action, calling Forzamele as a free action, full attack on the beetle. Forzamele activates its ability as its own standard action. Continuing Dirge of Doom & Dance of 23 Steps as free actions.
Mirror image lasts 90 rounds, weapon of awe lasts 70 rounds, cat's grace lasts 89 rounds, good hope lasts 89 rounds, weaponwand lasts 79 rounds.
AC is 30/23/22 while prayer, cat's grace, shield of faith and dance of 23 steps are active. Mirror image has 5 images remaining.
Dungeon Kobold
Cuetzpalli executes three brutal slices. On the last, just as Nezzarin is starting to regain her footing, he brings his enchanted greatsword back and neatly hacks her whole body clean in two at the waist.
Eben MacTeague
Whoops. Forgot good hope on my rolls. Don't think it affects the missed crit or iterative, but should add +4 to the manyshot and +2 to my rapid shot damage.
Dungeon Kobold
Continuing dirge of doom & dance of 23 steps. And really, you're using Icelandic for an ancient language of death and maddness? That's... okay, this is a land where people eat hákarl, I guess it kinda fits.
Isn't that what you went with when you were speaking it earlier? I know Gark was griping because you weren't using Armenian.
The Flan people weren't anything to do with death and madness, though. They were actually a really important influence. Just...some of them came over here and were jerks.
Because I can't 5-foot step on the stairs, right? So I'll just eat the AoO.
You can five-foot step down or across, just not up.
Eben lands two shots, but he finds that only the first does any real damage.
Round 2: Beetle
Everybody make another Will save, this time DC 21, or lose your action.
Ooh, a target-rich environment. 1d6 ⇒ 3
The beetle skitters forward, mandibles still clicking, and attacks Tanith. It lunges with sudden speed, mandibles sinking into Tanith's shoulder. He feels the negative energy suffuse him as it does so.
Bite/Claw/Claw: 1d20 + 19 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 19 - 2 = 271d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 14 - 2 = 321d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 14 - 2 = 22
Crit?: 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 14 - 2 = 23
Damage: 4d6 + 11 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6, 2) + 11 + (5, 3) = 33
Tanith takes 25 damage from the bite and 8 from the negative energy.
Round 2: Tanith, Astraden, Farrukh and Carina are up!

Farrukh assaults the beetle, the sword of Aaqa showing its hidden power as it launches a whirlwind to knock the creature to its knees. Or whatever passes for knees for insects.
Edit: Whoops. Forgot the Will save.
Will: 1d20 + 7 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 3 + 2 = 28
Dungeon Kobold
Farrukh slashes brutally into the huge beetle, pulverizing whatever it has that passes for a skull. Its smushed body is then lifted up by a blast of air from the sword of Aaqa, and goes flying over the edge of the ziggurat. It smacks off of each ledge in turn before finally hitting the ground with a KRUMPSH.
Combat over.
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
"That was new", Tanith says as he tears the beetle's shattered mandible from the meat of his shoulder and crushes a few surviving worms underfoot. "Astraden do you have any idea what they were? Or what the humanoid one was saying."
Eben MacTeague
"It sounded like. 'Who stole our death? Who stole the peak? Where are the ones who fought our vision?' Stuff like that. But the way she was saying it sounded less like she was asking questions and more like some kind of religious credo." Eben explains as far as translations go. He peers up at the spire overhead. "Didn't your representative of all that is wicked and unholy in the multiverse say that there were more than just the armored figure and beetles, Astraden?" He scouts around the grand stair and retrieves his missed shot.

"It did...so we should keep moving before our spells wear off," Cuetzpalli suggests as he returns from his bloodrage. He looks down at his sword and smiles. Thank you big guy! he prays. "Thanks for the save, brother." he adds to Tanith.
Dungeon Kobold
So where to now? Climbing the Spire itself is a DC 20 Climb check, if you want to check out the top. Alternatively, there are the two side entrances, and there's the chamber the beetles were in.
Cuetzpalli
Cuetzpalli heads into the chamber the beetles came from, holding Carina's extract in one hand.
Dungeon Kobold
The massive chamber within is dark and appears to be empty, aside from a moldy pile of rubble that might once have been a table and four lanterns on the walls at about waist-level (there is one lantern for each corner). The lanterns are unlit.
Cuetzpalli
"Appears to be nothing in here guys," Cuetzpalli calls out to the others on the steps. "We should probably go in the side?"
Carina Viera
Carina breathes a sigh of relief when the incessant chattering of the beetles stops. "Whew..."
"Sure, let's try the side."
Eben MacTeague
