I don't want to come off as rude here, but this attitude seems to be slowing down the game. The door was untrapped and unlocked. Farrukh didn't see anyone moving in there. And he was going to bed, which meant he couldn't make a post to tell everyone that it was clear.

Is Farrukh okay with being put in front? I don't mind 'leading' things but it makes the most sense for Farrukh to be the first inside any given room - he's got the best AC and the combat style most dependent on getting an early full attack.

Thoroughly confused, Tanith stares in disbelief at his double and then the two Carinas.

Holding off to see the results of Carina's bomb.

The other undine dodges the vial. The bomb lands square between the other Carina and Eben, its cold searing the flesh of them and the other Farrukh.

Reflex Save: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Farrukh and Eben are unable to dodge and take the full brunt. They both shoot "old Carina" annoyed glares. "New Carina" is also injured. She gives a sharp, surprised cry, then glares fiercely. "Wow, you really didn't do your homework, did you? I'm resistant to cold, not immune to it, you idiot. My friends were seriously fooled by you?"

The godfather grits his teeth. "Uh, listen, I hate to be the one to say this, but is it really a good idea to just let everyone attack each other? If there is a double, it gives them a pretty good excuse to just kill the real one before we can get to them. Maybe we better think about this."

"Both of you have a point. I've had my suspicions about him since we realize the doppelgangers could extract memories. But killing each other so quickly may turn out ugly. Let's think about this logically."

"Who was with who at any given time? I find it hard to believe Carina was snatched under Tanith's watch, or that Tanith was held captive for any length of time. Look at those ropes. Guy could flex a bit and bust out."

"Me and Cuetz and Astraden were together the whole time, so unless you guys believe all three of us got snatched, and Spiny somehow got out of it unscathed, we're out."

"So for now, let's assume me, Cuetz, Tanith, and Carina are legit."

"That leaves the newcomers: Who was alone? That leaves Gattel, and um...Astraden's godfather. We don't even know the guy's name."

"Of the two, both have used their magic...but Gattel's magic can be stolen since he passes them around like potions."

Headed to work all day. No more time to post until 8 or 9 hours from now (except from phone maybe). Cuetz continues to try to kill his double. Once his own double is dead, he will relax.

The Gateway Grove, The Isle of Last Resort

Spiny is getting more and more stressed. His master's friend is dead and strung up on his back, and though he hasn't had a satisfying meal all day, he knows he's not supposed to eat her. And now there are two masters, and his master is trying to kill his master, and they're too far for Spiny to tell their scents apart—

For the first time in years, Spiny spooks.
1d4 ⇒ 2

The dinosaur starts roaring at the two, scratching at the stone floor and kicking up blankets. He keeps roaring.

Spiny is effectively confused until someone spends a move action to calm him with a DC 10 Animal check.

He listens to Farrukh's speech, then adds. "Yeah, but that's not even really complete. Farrukh, you were off shopping by yourself yesterday. I was off shopping by myself. Astraden was with Cuetz, but she can't vouch for them never separating once. "Yeah, good point," the godfather says. "Okay, solidbods, it's been fun. Not really. Cuetzpalli, RUN ALONG!"

Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Cuetzpalli feels the magic pressing in, compelling him. You are affected as if by Command to run in the opposite direction from "the godfather" for 1 round, heedless of AoOs.

Inits: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 51d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Round 1.

"Eben"—or what wears his face—gives a very wide smile. Then he vanishes from sight.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 17 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 17 + 2 = 21

Gattel and Farrukh feel "Eben" dancing past them, laughing.

The godfather, meanwhile, raises his hand towards Tanith. "O, Olidammara, smite down this—haha, I'm just f!!#ing with you, Elaxan's pale orb, m#!%!!~~@@~&!"

A white orb forms in his hand and shoots out, straight at Tanith's back.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
Tanith takes 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5) = 12 damage and is stunned for 1d4 ⇒ 1 round.

"Ooh!" the doppelgodfather calls gleefully. "Those sounded painful! By the way, I forgot to mention, but that healing 'spell' I did has, like, twelve seconds left. Say hi to Lumhaare for me!"

Round 1: Everyone except Cuetzpalli is up, including Spiny and Real Eben (though he's bound and unable to do much).

Round 2: The Doppelgang.

Kick: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

It launches one more kick, then backs away, allowing another of its group to move in. Now Farrukh is fighting himself.

Attack: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 10 - 4 = 9

Three other doppelgangers advance on Gattel and Cuetzpalli, the latter now recovered from the enchantment that had affected him.

However, as the third doppelganger runs by, he accidentally knocks over Eben's chair. Even falls on his back, narrowly avoiding hitting his head on the wall. He feels the chair, brittle from the frost bomb, give a few cracks of its own.

You're still manacled, but it's now only DC 20 to break away from the damaged chair so you can move around.

Round 2: You are up!

EDIT: To move this along, we're going to make this very simple. Spiny gets either an extra move action or an extra bite attack next turn, since he didn't act this round. See it as him just being that pissed off.

The Gateway Grove, The Isle of Last Resort

The doppelfather smirks as it starts laying down protective spells on himself. "Guess I should have done this sooner. Sorry to keep you waiting, but you'll be out for a while, won't you?"

His form begins to shimmer, then detach, moving two inches to the left.

Fun fact: Casters don't know generally the durations of their own spells if the spell has a randomized length.

Oh. Well, using that roll with my strength modifier, I fail, so, once again...

"Mm, mmmmmmmmm mmmm! M mmm mmmm mmmmm!"

Is the mask icon out in the hallway the last known location of the dopplefather or is he visible now?

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Whole lotta no save status effects in this here encounter.

Also, why is it a DC 20 Str check only? Escape Artist's only use (just about) is escaping ropes and manacles.

Technically, I need to roll (at least) a 20 on an escape artist check in order to escape common manacles. (And masterwork ones would just elude me completely.) A break DC of 20 on the chair means I can get partly free on a roll of 18 or higher. (Although I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do while still manaclled, but if I can get the gag off my mouth I can at least use performance & some spells.) So... shhh. KC's making it easier for me.

Normally, there's no way for Eben to get free. "The real character is securely bound with masterwork manacles, requiring a DC 35 Escape Artist check to slip the bonds or a DC 28 Strength check to break free."

Like Eben said, I'm giving him a way to get out of the chair so he can move around and remove his gag.

That's where you see him. He's not invisible, he just seemed to move two inches to the left. Tanith has the funny feeling that if he attacks, he'll have to contend with some sort of annoying d100 die.

I must confess, this one I'm not a huge fan of, since it basically imposes a "You are creeped out by this" condition even if you're playing, say, a mad serial killer. That said, it's literally identical to an Intimidate check.

Having dropping his poleaxe when he was blasted by the dopplefather's overpowering spell, Tanith and turns his attention on the duplicitous spellcaster.

"You're gunna pay for that..." the hulking kordite growls.

Swift for Strength Surge.

Punch (bull's, blessing): 1d20 + 11 - 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 11 - 2 + 2 + 2 = 29
Damage: 1d8 + 5 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 + 4 = 13

Flurry: 1d20 + 11 - 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 11 - 2 + 2 + 2 = 32
Damage: 1d8 + 5 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 + 4 = 12

Iterative: 1d20 + 11 - 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 11 - 2 + 2 + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 5 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 2 + 4 = 16

It's your call if Tanith can determine how miss chancy his opponent is. If he can tell it's > 20% he'll burn an AP for blind fight.

I'll let him realize it after the first swing.
1d100 ⇒ 272d100 ⇒ (86, 20) = 106

The doppelganger rolls its eyes as the first swing misses. "Really, why do you even—oof!"

Cuetzpalli and Carina are up.

Headed to work for the night; so as not to bog anyone down next round waiting for Eben to take his now-repetitive action, I'll post pre-emptively.

Out-of-order Round 3 Actions!

Strength check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Oh, hell with that.
Action Point: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Eben rears himself up just enoguh to smash himself back to the ground, the back of the chair he's bound to hitting the stone floor first. Finally, it splinters to bits, and with a bit of wriggling, his hands slip from the wooden backing they were bound behind. With what is clearly a familiar move, the street performer jacknifes his lower body and slips his manacled hands underneath his feet and around to the front of his body. They still remain bound in front of him, but he has at least a bit more physical mobility now. He manages to bring his hands to his mouth and pull the gag out from between his teeth.

"How the hell could you guys think that's me? He's carrying a sword. I suck with swords. And that's not even my sword, it's way fancier!"

Freeing myself probably took both a standard and move (smashing the chair and getting the hands out front), so let's say that's all he can do right now, plus the swift to un-gag himself.

Cuetzpalli stabs at the fake him furiously, trying not to die.

"Hey, wanna see my impression of you in a few secheurgh!" The other Cuetzpalli is impaled through the chest and collapses in a bloody heap. His body melts back into the grey-skinned form.

"God, Tirka," Fake Carina mutters, "why do you have to be so weird? Or, why did you, I guess."

Carina's bomb strikes Fakerukh right in the chest, burning an ugly hole in his torso. He stumbles back, then collapses. Farrukh feels his brief unease fade as the dead doppelganger returns to its normal form.

"Is that the face I'll make when I die? It's so...undignified." Farrukh says, seeming a bit disappointed with himself n

Cuetzpalli, you took 63 damage initially from AoOs. Gattel healed you for 16, then you took 12 as the doppelgangers pursued you. You should be at 6 HP as of the start of this round.

Round 3: The Doppelgang

"Hey, Eben, got any problem with me using up your expensive shock arrows? Okay, I'm just hearing a lot of 'mmm's, I'll take that as a no."

Fake Eben steps over and fires three shots at Farrukh, each arrow crackling with electric power.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 151d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 181d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 5) + 2 = 8

"Hey, Zaross, finish off Loincloth already and get over here."

Fake Zalamandra hears his command and delivers a single nasty punch, but Cuetzpalli dodges it. In response, Fake Carina lets loose another barrage, getting increasingly annoyed and her strikes getting increasingly vicious as Cuetzpalli keeps avoiding.
Stunning Fist: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Flurry: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 201d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Confirm: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Damage: 2d6 + 22 ⇒ (3, 5) + 22 = 30
G@~ d%#n it.

Zalamandra then turns and runs up to intercept Farrukh.

"Elaxan!" fake Eben shouts. "Quit playing around with the Kordite and help us out!"

The godfather sticks out its tongue out at Tanith. "Sorry, Ixiaxian's being a pest again. Another time, Penrith."

It leaps back and reaches down, as a shadowy trapdoor appears beneath it. The doppelfather opens it and vanishes into its depths.

A moment later, Farrukh sees a trapdoor open out of thin air, and the godfather tumbles out into the Hall of Deception. Fake Tanith rushes over, eager to receive healing.

Spellcraft 18:
Dimension Door.

Oh, and the whip.
"Bind the shield master," Fake Eben/"Ixiaxian" commands.
Whip: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Glad I didn't forget that.

Round 3: You are up.

Cuetzpalli, you may now play Spiny as if he was your main character with regards to Action Point expenditures. Small comfort, I know.

Spiny will get two extra attacks this round. Don't forget to move him this time. His acting last round wouldn't have changed anything, but he does have options.

"Damn!" Tanith curses as his prey magics himself away.

Is that square to the right of Farrukh clear for standing/fighting in?
