"Umm, what was that?" Myri looks confused as Mel turns a beautiful green. "Is something wrong?"

Day 6, Early morning
Myri smiles up at Sandru, "No..I mean yeah...I mean, I'm fine...I just found out I just can't do the things I'm trying to do...It's, I don't know, I guess a little more draining when you get frustrated at things not working out. But everythings okay now, really." She smiles bravely up at the older man.
bluff:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6+1 optional
then continues, "besides, now that I can spend a full days work it's gotta come out right...right? Oh, that reminds me," She rummages around in her pack for a minute, "I meant to give you this ages ago, but I just never found the right time...." She blushes a little, "or never got up the courage. Anyway, I thought this might be appropriate for you."
She pulls out a polished amethyst with the Varisian rune for good luck carved and painted into it. "I was told amethyst is supposed to be a protection to travelers. I hope you like it....and...and that it works for you."

Day 6, on route to Roderic's Cove
"Oh, I'm sorry," she says to Xander, a little surprised. "I guess I never was good at reading cats. Well here, you can have at it when you're good and ready. Just don't overdo it, okay?"
She undoes the pouch, opens the draw strings just a little and drops it behind them out of sight in the wagon.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Just you wait...one of these days a nat 20 FER SURE!

Alaric Graff |

"Your favorite one? I'll ask her if I see her," says Koya genially. "As for me, I'm a little older than I was yesterday, but a little younger than I will be tomorrow. And yourself?"
"Much the same, although it's nowhere near as harrowing. Have you been to Roderic's Cove before?"

Melinda Sorn |

Mel starts to laugh. It takes awhile but she does get herself back under control. Looks at Myri drop the bag of catnip onto the floor of the wagon, You're being a bad influence. She doesn't seem to take her words very seriously. Then after Myri's comment, she looks a little guilty, Yes, yes I am.

Kyrademon |

When you hand him the amethyst, his worried expression is at least temporarily replaced by a smile. ”Why, thank you for that. I’ll be sure to keep it with me. We could all use a bit of luck.”
Increase your relationship with Sandru by +2.
On the road:

"Much the same, although it's nowhere near as harrowing. Have you been to Roderic's Cove before?"
"I have. Been to most of Varisia, at least, although I never managed to get outside of it. Nice little town. Pity the Riddleport bastards took it over, but at least they haven't ruined it yet."

"I have. Been to most of Varisia, at least, although I never managed to get outside of it. Nice little town. Pity the Riddleport bastards took it over, but at least they haven't ruined it yet."
"Riddleport isn't so bad. I wouldn't want to live there or anything, but it had a certain filthy charm."

Kyrademon |

"Riddleport isn't so bad. I wouldn't want to live there or anything, but it had a certain filthy charm."
"I'll give you the 'filthy' but I have my doubts about the 'charm'. I would have thought it didn't have enough tax-collectors to minister to for your tastes, though I suppose it is overrun with prostitutes."

Rhost Mab-i-gof |

...with a Perception check of 28 and a Stealth of -1, I should hope so. It is okay with me (the player) if Whatever Happens happens either with Kalimac or after we have split up. Food, dagger, nosy. In that order (as in my earlier post).
"Yes," says Rhost to Kalimac. "We are men. Let us shop."

Day 6, on route to Roderic's Cove
Myri keeps her eye on Mel for a while, "Okay...So who needs to be careful about getting kicked by a horse and why do they want to get anywhere faster? Are you seriously going to leave me hanging with that? I mean,..."Making plans for Roderic's Cove"?"
sense motive:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
She smiles laughingly, "Okay, fine. If you really don't want to tell me what's going on, fine. I won't pry anymore, you can have your secrets." She draws Mel close in another one armed hug. "Thank you for being my friend. ... ... ... Now if you want to talk voluntarily?" she adds a little hopefully.

Kalimac Proudfoot |

"Yes," says Rhost to Kalimac. "We are men. Let us shop."
"Yes, let's. OK, for starters, what you served last night was röstitud hirveliha. The second course, the spicy stew, I'd call vürtsikas hirveliha hautisega..."
As Rhost shops, Kalimac points to the items Rhost picks, and says its name in the Halfling tongue.

Kalimac Proudfoot |

"Of course," Sandru replies immediately. "What's up?"
"It's about Koya. I'm worried that one of the people I rely on most for healing is someone I know least in this caravan. I was wondering if you had any ideas of how I can break the ice, so to speak. Or something I could do as a sign of respect?"

"Hmmm ..." Sandru ponders briefly.
"You could ask her to do a reading for you," he suggests. "If you don't mind her eyes searching into the deepest recesses of your soul until the very essence of your being is stripped bare and your future unreels before her like a puppet show you helplessly enact before the laughing fates, it's a good excuse to have a chat."

Kyrademon |

"Yes, well. You understand." Alaric fumbles, recovers. "And you? Any plans?"
"Nothing quite so exciting," she says serenely. "If there's another Caravan in town, I'll join in the gossip. And I'll pay my respects at the Desnan shrine up at the crossroads, pray for some good fortune on the road ahead."

Kalimac breaks into an easy smile at Sandru's description of a Koya reading. "I think I'll try that. Why should a halfling who charges into battle with ogres, riding his trusty wolf, have any fear of the fates?" he asks with a wink.

Day 6, on route to Roderic's Cove
"Mel...I'm...Oh! You mean Alaric?" She immediately lowers her voice down to a whisper, "Oops, sorry about that. Umm, I'm probably really not the best person to talk to about this sort of thing, you know?" Her skin has begun to redden considerably, "Ummm. But if you really want my two coppers...Well, I think you really like him...and he seems to really like you. ... ...I don't think it's at all wrong that you want to. ... ...Ummm" Myri sighs becomming quite flushed. "Ummm, I just know my Dad's forbade me to even...uh, you know, uh..."touch" a guy down there before...well, before we got, you know...married. ... ..." her voice trails off, then she adds quickly, "But I know Shalelu thinks they're crazy...and she's been, like, all over the world right? So, I'm sorry, I'm not really being helpful, am I? I think Xander's probably much better for you. I...I mean calmness wise." She listens to Xander's purr, reaches out scritches him around the ears and neck and strokes his back.

Rhost Mab-i-gof wrote:"Yes," says Rhost to Kalimac. "We are men. Let us shop."As Rhost shops, Kalimac points to the items Rhost picks, and says its name in the Halfling tongue.
Hrithik, laden with the mighty conquests of his own manly shopping sojourn (book, scrollcase stuffed to overflowing, glittery lump, odd religious tokens, a packet of arrows), hears the Halfling tongue being spoken, turns toward the pair of adventurers, and approaches them with a smile.
"Greetings, sirs!" Nodding deeply to Rhost, Hrithik continues, "Thank you for letting me serve the beverage course last night, Chef Rhost."
Facing both, Hrithik slowly moves his haul into his right arm. "I had a few spare hours to conjure something this morning, but don't have enough money left over to afford to create another tomorrow. In memoriam of our Ogre escapade, I wanted one of you to have this."
Hrithik's left hand twists and suddenly holds a small vial filled with a thin, slickly running oil.
Created item is oil of stride expeditiously (expeditious retreat), caster level 1. Target gains +30ft to base speed for one minute, reduced by armor and encumbrance normally. Usually a move action to draw, standard action to apply to self, full-round action to apply to another (don't know if bonded animal would go more swiftly, but usually 1 full round to apply to another).
"It takes a bit of time to apply, but makes one resistant to the worst weather we're likely to encounter if we get jumped again in the middle of the night, only this time in a snowstorm. The ingredients cost about twenty-five crown, but I am happy to put in the time in odd hours to make more if you or anyone else wishes to finance the endeavor."
Created item is oil of endure elements, caster level 1. Target gains immunity to effects of temperature down to -40, lasting a full 24 hours. Usually a move action to draw, standard action to apply to self, full-round action to apply to another (don't know if bonded animal would go more swiftly, but usually 1 full round to apply to another).

Kalimac Proudfoot |

Kalimac looks curiously at the vial. "Makes someone go faster? That could come in handy. I think I'd use it more if I were on foot, just to keep up with you tall folk. I'm not sure I'm ready for a twice-as-speedy Attatoq." He looks up at Rhost. "What do you say, Rhost? Would you like it?"

Alaric Graff |

Alaric thinks for a moment. Then: "You were raised in a monastery... by one of your mothers? Or by a third party?"
