Level up!
Zed:
Inquisitor 4
+1 BAB
+1 Fort & Will saves
+1 Strength
+1 Judgement/day
+7 HP
+1 Hero Point?
+1 rank in each of:
Perception
Intimidate
+2 rank in each of:
Stealth
Knowledge (religion)
Background Skills (which I apparently completely forgot about)
Artistry (Philosophy) - I thought this would be neat because Zed watches others age and die while he endures, so he spends a lot of alone time considering the world and his place in it
Lore (Kavapesta) - Fairly obvious, he knows a lot about his family history
New inquisitor spells learned:
2nd level: inflict moderate wounds, blistering invective

You will love 4th onward Vala; Wandering Spirit kicks all sorts of butt and really adds to a shaman's flexibility. I've got a 5th level shaman in a Shattered Star game here and I love the class!
Currently working so I won't be able to level up until tomorrow morning but I think Hazel gets a small channel pool now as well. Every little bit helps :)
And I'm good with Zed taking the ring!

~Ding!
+8 HP (5 + 3 Con)
+1 BAB
+1 Fort & Will
+1 Str
+3 Skill Points (Kn. Religion, Perception, Survival)
+2 BG Skill Points (Kn. Engineering, Perform: Dance)
+1 Use of Blessings
+1 Use of Fervor
FCB = 1/6th Combat Feat
Channel Energy (1d6, 2/Day)
Gain x2 2nd Level Spell Slots
Sacred Weapon +1 - At 4th level, the warpriest gains the ability to enhance one of his sacred weapons with divine power as a swift action. This power grants the weapon a +1 enhancement bonus. For every 4 levels beyond 4th, this bonus increases by 1 (to a maximum of +5 at 20th level). If the warpriest has more than one sacred weapon, he can enhance another on the following round by using another swift action. The warpriest can use this ability a number of rounds per day equal to his warpriest level, but these rounds need not be consecutive.

Hey guys, I'll try and do some work on figuring out what remaining loot we have that's worth anything and start a new sheet for Book 2. I know Zed wanted the Ring of Protection so I'll make a note of that. Did anyone else want or need anything from the last two groups of treasure that we found or do we want to see what we can sell (whether in Ravengro or Lepidstadt)?
*edit* Depending on what we try to sell we might get more gold in Lepidstadt...on the other hand, we might be able to finagle discounts in Ravengro depending on what we're wanting to buy :)

Hazel Stokes |
Unclaimed & Group Loot
Ouija Board
Silver Arrow x18
Sunrod x6
Antiplague x2
Sooth Syrup x3
Smelling Salts x3
CLW Potion x4
MW Punching Dagger
MW Shurikens x12
MW Silver War Razor
CMW Potion x4
Lesser Restoration Potion x4
Remove Disease Potion x3
MW Tower Shield
+1 Heavy Mace
Stone of Alarm
Shield Cloak
MW Dwarven Warhammer
MW Mithril Dagger +1
Keen Longsword +1
Sellables & Gold
Bronze War Medallion (60gp)
Painting of Stavian I (150gp)
Silver Hair Clips (80gp)
500gp
Any of the equipment that doesn't get claimed I'll just move to the 'sell' pile and we can offload a bunch of stuff once we get to Lepidstadt :)
(It might be a bit metagamey but depending on what Feral is planning on playing I'm also game on hanging on to stuff that his character can use.)

Shall we make a "party kit" of items - useful to everyone but not ones that would be needed immediately in combat:
Antiplague X2
Sooth Syrup X3
Smelling Salts x3
Lesser Rest potion x4
Remove disease x3
Stone of Alarm
Thoughts?

Kazamir Rhuul |

Until we get to sell or trade or whatever, someone should carry the magic mace and dagger, just in case the journey is more than an Indiana Jones red line on the map...
Hazel or Zed would make sense to hold onto the mace. Anyone want the dagger?

GM-JZ |

Cool. Well I hope you guys enjoyed the opening chapter to this campaign.
As always, I am open to criticism or suggestions of how I can improve this experience.
In the meantime, I will get things going on book 2 and look to introduce Feral's actual character! Big thanks from me on that score by the way dude, that was a huge help to maintain continuity.

Vermundr |

I see how it is. The new guy shows up and it's sudden radio silence. =(
It's my steely gaze isn't it?

GM-JZ |

*Sigh* spent pretty much all day in Accident and Emergency (ER for my American friends) because my gf had a nasty dog bite to her hand in work today. She's a veterinary nurse so kind of an occupational hazard but it was a particularly nasty nip.
No broken bones luckily just some deep punctures so all good but I may be too busy waiting on her hand and foot to update tonight :)

Zed Ulmin |

I hope she's doing ok.

Valavastra Cross |

Oh my goodness. What a circus this is at the office today. Oi.
1) JZ, I hope your lady recovers quickly dude! Keep spoiling her in the meantime =)
2) I'm heading out for the first of my cabin trips for the year today. There's no cell reception or nuffin' up there, so I'll be completely off ye olde gride until I get back sometime late Sunday.
If trouble hits while I'm gone (what are the odds, right?), and someone needs those sweet, sweet heals from Vala, feel free to roll some Healing Hex action for yourselves and I'll track them when I get back. Be safe! Don't take needless risks! <insert other suitably appropriate, grandmotherly, finger-waggy exhortations here>
=)

An ethereal creature is invisible, insubstantial, and capable of moving in any direction, even up or down, albeit at half normal speed. An ethereal creature can move through solid objects, including living creatures. An ethereal creature can see and hear on the Material Plane, but everything looks gray and ephemeral. Sight and hearing onto the Material Plane are limited to 60 feet.
Force effects and abjurations affect an ethereal creature normally. Their effects extend onto the Ethereal Plane from the Material Plane, but not vice versa. An ethereal creature can't attack material creatures, and spells you cast while ethereal affect only other ethereal things. Certain material creatures or objects have attacks or effects that work on the Ethereal Plane.
An ethereal creature treats other ethereal creatures and ethereal objects as if they were material.
As strange as it sounds, I think a glitterdusted creature that becomes ethereal remains visible (though they're still insubstantial for most effects).

Zed Ulmin |

I agree with the GM. Ethereal is a whole 'nother level.

Vermundr |

While the creature is ethereal only force effects and abjurations extend to the ethereal plane but the spider has to return to the material to attack. If it gets nailed with a glitterdust while it's on the material plane that glitterdust goes with it back to the ethereal plane where its innate invisibility, insubstantialness, etc kicks in.
Just replace glitterdust with being lit on a fire or any other status effect. If it was lit on fire while on the material plane and then retreated to the ethereal plane would the fire go away?

Vermundr |

Zelda has bodyguard from her familiar archetype. Technically she can't use it because she doesn't threaten any spaces but the archetype allows her to bodyguard her master (Vermundr) as long as she's in his space.
Loyal Bodyguard (Ex): A protector gains Bodyguard (Pathfinder RPG Advanced Player’s Guide 151) and Combat Reflexes as bonus feats. If the familiar is occupying its master’s square, it can use Bodyguard to aid another to improve its master’s AC even if it doesn’t threaten the attacking foe. This ability replaces alertness and improved evasion.

Zed Ulmin |

Yup, status effects stay the same. The glitterdust goes to the ethereal plane. Unless you can see onto the ethereal plane, you can't see the glitterdust.
Planar encounters are hard.

Only a little late, here's the newest loot list:
JZ's Carrion Crown - Trial of the Beast Loot List
Let me know if anyone wants access or wants anything from the list at any time and I'll hook you up :)

GM-JZ |

Guys, I don't know if this is a stupid question or not.
Do you know if it's against pbp rules to post on here about charity events? My friends and I are doing something soon and I was going to see if any of my gaming buds would be interested in sponsoring us and/or logging in to Twitch to monitor our progress on the day :)

Hazel Stokes |
Honestly I'm not sure...but I don't see why it would be. If you're unsure you could always send PMs to people on here that you think might be interested? I know I'm curious now :)
*edit* Totally off-topic but I hope all the US folks had a good holiday weekend and that everyone else also had a good weekend! And/or a good PaizoCon if you got to go or spent the weekend following the updates :)

Zed Ulmin |

I'm not a Paizo employee, but I browse a lot of the forums and am very well aware of the board rules. As far as I know there is no rule against it, but I'm unsure what forum you would post it in.

GM-JZ |

Well if this gets flagged or taken off that's cool.
Hey guys, first off feel free to ignore this I won’t be offended, I understand I am being a bit mischievous posting it here anyway :)
....
A couple of my friends (Rob and Tom) and I are undertaking a 24 hour video gaming session on 9th - 10th June for the UK-based charity Macmillan Cancer Support
Robert lost his grandfather to cancer in 2013 and my mother had a tough time in 2014 leading to her kidney being removed and then an incredibly nervous few months until we had confirmation she was in remission. So this is a charity that is close to our hearts.
Playing computer games for 24 hours might sound like fun, but I suspect it’s going to be pretty tough as time goes on and we start getting more and more ratty with eachother... Besides, the best thing about this is being able to dip in to the live stream of us doing it and make requests in exchange for donations.
If you’d like to donate though - literally whatever you can spare would be gratefully received - it can be done quickly, easily and anonymously through the Just Giving link below.
In addition, for those who are interested, we are going to be live streaming the whole event on Twitch. So if you’d like to see us arguing and bickering as we get gradually more and more tired, and maybe even some (bad) singing when we play Rock Band, please feel free to log in any time during that 24 hours.
We will be taking requests for donations via Twitch throughout the day as well!
The link for that is below and will become active on the day:
Remember I completely understand if you aren't interested in donating, I have no issue with that at all dudes and dudettes, not least because this is a UK based charity. However, if you did want to join us at Twitch at some point that would be really fun!
Cheers,
Jamie
