Been a busy weekend so far for me too. Out last night for my work Christmas party and running my table top game tonight. Our heroes have just set foot into Minkai for the first time in Jade Regent, book 5. Exciting stuff!
I'll catch up tomorrow, have no fear.

Also, keep in mind... there is no inherent bonus for training the person you believe is the same class as you. Even a sorcerer needs to learn how to use a crossbow and a fighter benefits from magical instruction. If your character, via RP, is most drawn to training the NPC who appears to have an affinity for his weapon, that's fine. Just don't feel like (from a meta standpoint) that its the only reason or best reason. Because, if y'all use that reasoning, some of the Shades, like Tarvi, would never receive any training since none of you are very arcane.

![]() |

And...omg...how do y'all go from seeing a face picture of Rizz to presuming he's an archer/ranger? Y'all crack me up!
I'm beginning to regret that I dumped the pictures there ... this is the 2nd meta type of mistake that's resulted from those things. Please use them only to get a picture of what's going on in the game (such as looking up the picture of Arael when he was introduced) rather than perusing those pictures and make presumptions and/or using those (file)names in the game.

The Black Devil |

I never even saw the face. I wanted a list of the Shades. I looked at the posts, and counted. And counted the pics, and typed down the names, and matched against the posts... I don't think it's meta, but I agree it's imperfect. I allowed for that imperfection, asked for corrections.
I'm trying to get along, not get over.
It appears, though, I managed to break Aemon's post, too.
Apologies all around, I'll try to restrict my future researches to the thread archives.

I looked through the thread, just to make sure I didn't intro him. I was keeping him aside for a reason. I didn't see him in the round table discussions that we had. However, if he did sneak in there somewhere, please let me know...because then *I* have some serious explaining and retconning to do! hahahaahah.
I'm not accusing anyone of doing really evil and underhanded things. We're all learning as we're going along. Just keep in mind the pictures are just that...and shouldn't be used in and of themselves as a solid reference point to whom y'all have met and the such.

I'm likely overtired, and getting cranky. But I do feel like Lucy, in that I "Go' some 'splainin' to do!"
Here's what I tripped over:
To her right, you see the green hair maned from earlier. Janiven continues, Vitti refuses to eat any food he doesn’t grow or catch himself. He is, however, a talented woodcarver whose works earn him his own income. He prides himself on the fact that he only carves wood that’s been harvested from deadfalls and other trees that died of natural causes. He's hoping that our efforts here will change the people's attitudes towards nature and the forests. The very tanned, brown hair man looks at the group, as he eats a piece of jerky. Caught this critter myself, I did. With me bare hands. Hope ya like it. Used to be a time when people enjoyed nature. Appreciated her simplicity and beauty. Now their passions have been turned towards power and devils. It's not right. There's no regard nature anymore. We have to change that, I say!
Vitti has green hair, so the brown-haired jerky-eater is... who?

That's just me getting my descriptions a wee mixed up. (That's what I get for typing this stuff while I answer phones) I shouldn't have said brown hair, but green hair in the second paragraph. He's responding to Janiven's introduction but saying to you all why he's in the group, being the wild nature lover and all.
And you're not the only one who's cranky. I know I come across a bit of a hard ass myself over here. We should all together for a Skype VoIP chat sometime and exchange stories.

Haven't really mulled over the options available, but certainly Tessai wants to get involved in these "downtime" activities.
I am leaning HEAVILY on the "Other" option :D
This would be in line with Tessai's background of havinbg been around town digging up information, and even though it seems the one probably least mechanically inclined, and more challenging - since I would have to pull ideas about to do out of Tessais' hat - I am leaning on this one.
I'm guessing Tessai mostly believes she does not have much to teach.
More on this as soon as I have the opportunity, and before the deadline of tomorrow as set by GM-JC.

Aemon, when you were training with the bow under Janvien, Larko came behind y'all a couple of times, and watched with interest. Janiven had even asked him a couple of times and he shook his head. You also know he owns a bow, a long sword, and a set of leather armor that you've seen him tend to from time to time. However, he's a quiet man who seems a rarely offer any information freely. To this day you can't remember him saying more than three words in a row.

Christmas day would be hard with so much going on, otherwise I am available. I am not travelling this year and I am off work between Dec 21 and New Years so I should be posting regularly, though I won't be in front of a computer all the time.

Tessai |

Actually, the current week is one of the most complicated so far - stock full of work, exams (yep, I am back to school after 35 :D), papers and Christmas shopping (still figuring where I will able to fit these in...).
Christmas day posting will probably be complicated.
By the way, I will be away until later today - maybe we can assume Tessai is off on her investigations?

Beppo van Drotske |

Xmas eve and day will be tricky, but I should be able to post (such as I do) otherise that week.
I am a bit out of poclet this morning, so sorry for missing our 10am posting. I will probably miss this one, so if I don't post just assume Beppo is training the smith and fighting bad guys if need be.

Ok....looks like we have an empty slot or two on my weekly Friday Carrion Crown campaign. We play online using Skype and Maptools. Kyle is one of the players there. We would love to have one or two of y'all from the board join us. We play every Friday night from 9pm - 1am EST (6pm-10pm PST). If you're interested, shoot me off an email (do not PM)

I don't really miss the grind that is MMOs. The whole loot chase just never appealed to me. I still dabble here and there.
Our go to game right now is "Orcs Must Die 2." It's an awesome co-op game...and watching so many orcs die so many different ways is just...just... precious.
Love Steam sales. Just picked up Dead Island + DLC for $6.79. Hopefully my family will want to run that co-op as well.

Beppo van Drotske |

+1 on the Steam sales love. 2 of the last 3 games I've purchased have been through Steam at a nice discount, although it seems I have no time in which to play them these days. They may be up to Dragon Age 6 by the time I get through Origins...
