I hope everyone is getting their characters leveled up
The chamber is empty (we already rolled for that), but there are three exits from the chamber and we don't know where or what they are. I'll take that roll from Darmo for the first what
14 - this exit is an opening to a passageway
Where is #1 exit?: 1d20 ⇒ 3 to the north (opposite wall)
How wide is it?: 1d20 ⇒ 12 it is a 10’ passageway, extending 30’ to the north
What is exit #2?: 1d20 ⇒ 20 it is a Door
What is exit #3?: 1d20 ⇒ 19 and another Door
Where is #2?: 1d20 ⇒ 4 to the north
Left or Right of passageway?: 1d6 ⇒ 6 (1-3 left, 4-6 right)
on the right of the ten foot passageway leaving the chamber to the north
Where is #3?: 1d20 ⇒ 15 it is on the right (east wall)
In what ten foot section?: 1d4 ⇒ 1
on the first ten foot section of the east wall

I’m putting this question out to all of the players in the ‘Its “A” Dungeon’ world. I am putting together a better NPC/Character Party Encounter table (using Table IV, which was reserved). The table should work to quickly establish the race, class, and level of any npc or adventuring character the party may encounter. What I want some feedback on is what do you think is the best option for quickly determining ability score arrays?
I was thinking a d20 table with progressively higher point buys something like this:
1-13 = 8 point buy
14-16 =10 point buy
17-18 = 12 point buy
19 = 14 point buy
20 = 16 point buy
Or would it be better to have a standard ability score array?
Also, should I draw the line at a fixed possibility of Races, and if so, what should they be?

Jerrica, love the new Image!
The door to the north is not locked, you can make perception checks to see if you can find any traps (if you think there are any), or try to open it (it is, like all doors that are not locked, stuck and requires a STR check, DC 16, to open).
The door on the East wall (at the south end of the East wall), appears to be locked:
The DC of this lock is: 1d20 ⇒ 14
DC 21
You can also make a perception check to try and detect any traps on this door, if you think there might be.

It's another room
What size is this room, and what is in the room
How biggy?: 1d20 ⇒ 7
it is a 20' x 20' room
Room Contents?: 1d20 ⇒ 18
With a Monster...and a Treasure!
I'll work these up right away.
If someone wants to roll d20, for the CR of the Monster, and a d100, for the type, I'll wait a bit
| Terquem |
The Treasure Value is?: 1d20 ⇒ 12
From Table VIII, a 12 indicates a treasure with a value of 100 gold pieces per character (4) times APL (2) for a total treasure valued at 800 gold pieces (I will detail what the treasure is in the Game Thread)
Trease is Contained in?: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Chest/Boxes with a size no greater than 3 feet in any dimension
Are there any exits from this new room?: 1d20 ⇒ 5
NO!

Obviously, I've been having issues again. Just want you all to know that I'm still thinking of you guys and the game and everything involved. I went to Brunei and they didn't have any internet! It was sadface.
However, it should also be noted, as I'm struggling at the moment, that I'm clinically and cyclically depressed - though the desire to post and my love of you guys and your characters and the game remains, a lot of my energy and will to actually do the things I genuinely want to do is gone. I think about the games, I read the materials over and over, and I genuinely want to talk to everyone, but I can't make myself sign on or write. I am constantly frustrated by myself, sitting and playing pointless bejeweled games when I know this is waiting for me.
I just can't describe it any better than that.
I am here and settled again with a Visa for another 30 days so hopefully I will be more regular. I understand if anyone doesn't really want to deal with a probably sporadic silly Fighter as I try to get back into my routines and patch myself up.
All that said, I'm fighting hard for this hobby of mine that probably literally saved my life in the last bad patch I went through.
And yeah, I get that this might be needlessly melodramatic, but I wanted to get it out there. I owe you all that much.

Hey, Lexi,
I understand what you're going through. I've been dealing with depression for about 20 years now (somebody [a counselor?] noticed it in the 4th grade). I attempted suicide once, they put me on a bunch of crappy meds that made me feel more like a zombie than alive. Nowadays, I cope with video games, so I'm there with you. As long as you have something to get you through the day, that's good. I'm totally cool with waiting until you feel better.

Cat - I don't want to do this without you! All of you crack me up and have such good natures dealing with this silliness. I understand that everyone has a little trouble with the internet from time to time (trouble of the technical kind as well as trouble of the emotional kind). But, please, try to stay with us if you can. It is helping me more than I can say.

I have been reworking the random monster encounter tables to be, in my opinion, more in line with Pathfinder Theory than AD&D theory. If you are familiar with the original appendices, random monster encounter tables of appendix B included 10 separate monster “type” tables, and one table to determine which of these to use (but AD&D theory was based on Monster Types being keyed to encounters, and not Challenge Ratings). The changes, to the current games will be invisible, but basically I have created a single d20 table that looks something like this:
Monster Encounter Threat (d20)
Die Result
1-2 CR = APL – 2 (minimum 1)
3-7 CR = APL – 1 (minimum 1)
8-14 CR = APL
15-18 CR = APL + 1
19 CR = APL + 2
20 CR = APL +3
If the APL > Dungeon Level apply a +2 modifier to the roll. If the APL < Dungeon level apply a -2 modifier to the roll
and streamlined the 10 old tables into 5 tables. Dragons occur on table 3, which cannot be rolled until the Character Party is on the fourth level of the dungeon (regardless of the actual APL), and the top 2 tables (table 4 and 5) begin to include Demons and Devils

I'm here! I wouldn't worry honestly, we're hitting the summer so, people will be busy and non-communicative as they do finals / get the kids home / go on vacation, and then come flooding back as soon as the initial rush to do anything else is over.
I'd just keep it here, backburner, or whatever ... I'm pretty sure folks will trickle back.

Today's lesson, How to use DropBox
Okay so for anyone who is curious, this is the current revision of my restructuring of Appendix "A" (it is incomplete, hey! I'm working on it)
Also, as far as copyright is concerned
Technically some of this material looks an awful lot like the original Appendix A from the Dungeon Master's Guide, so please do not redistribute it. I am only posting this to see if I can work with DropBox correctly, and for the players in the original Its "A" Dungeon game, if they are curious about all those tables

Hey, everybody. I'm sorry for my absence. It was much longer than intended. I really only was going to be away for a few days as family visited. Then the hammer of life came crashing down--AP tests, school work as the year comes to a close, trying to find a summer job... Things piled up. As such, it's been two weeks since I even got on the forum.
That said, school is still in session for a couple weeks, and after that I'm planning to get a job in the summer. All that aside, the absence has made me realize how busy I am and made me think about my ability to keep everything together. As such, I'm trying to get my affairs in order and make sure I'm only trying to do what I can do. I'd hate to bog other people down with substandard playing, and that means cutting some losses.
I'm sorry to have to say it, but I need to drop out of this game, everyone. I've had a lot of fun playing in it, and I wish everybody the best, but I've realized that I'm trying to do too much. I hope to get a chance to play with you all in the future, when I'm more able to participate in PbP games like this.
Best of luck to you all, and happy gaming!
