Sorry, Mon-Tue are always slammed for me.

Seven gripped the ladder rungs uncertainly, but he knew the way was up, and so he climbed. It was not a good feeling to see the weapon leveled against him. He quickly covered his face with an arm, but there was (another) loud noise, and an intense, searing burning on the side of his neck.

He hauled himself onto the platform in fury, only to see the other automom now in front of him. Thoughts of pain receded into the background as he roared in rage. He was about fed up with these machines. He swung furiously, connecting solidly with the automom and knocking a chunk of it off onto the floor.

Seven 5-foot steps northeast, then attacks the repair drone, in order to maintain melee range with Meyanda in case she provokes.

Malka felt her anxiety level rising as Seven took the brunt of another attack. It didn't seem like he had heard her and he didn't seem to realize the true danger he was in. Each place that the ball of lava hit seemed to be continuing to burn and sizzle but she couldn't get to him to do anything.

Doing the only rational thing her brain could consider, she loaded another bolt into her crossbow and willed it to hit the android again. If she could stop the android then she could help her friend.

Loosing faith in her ability to help Seven using her crossbow, Malka considered switching to something that was tried and true - her wand.

I still have time left on the gravity bow. Will it still be active if I switch back to it or will she lose the spell if she switches?

GM, Seven should be at 3/10 Rage at the beginning of this turn.

Seven once more faced the barrel of the weapon, the gleaming red eyes of the automom hovering behind it. He cried out in pain as it fired again, and a smoldering, burning goo clung to his skin. He reached up instinctively to to claw at it, trying to make the burning sensation stop. The gunk fell to the floor, sizzling and steaming on the metal walkway. He growled, moving in closer to the automom in an attempt to pin her against the wall.

Oh, geez, sorry, I totally thought I'd posted for some reason!

I'm assuming, with the repair droid parked at the top of the ladder, I won't be able to climb it this round? Seven's in bad need of healing, and going around's going to take a while...it's times like this I wish the speaker for the past shaman had a familiar (though it wouldn't have fit Jeyne at all).

If Jeyne can climb the ladder:

Seven was injured, badly, and seemed completely unaware of the fact. So, once he had scaled the ladder to the platform above, Jeyne followed in his tracks, scaling the rungs and preparing to cast a healing spell standing at the top. "Malka - tell Seven to come to me!" she shouted, hoping she could be heard above the din.

Move action to climb the ladder, ready a standard action to cast cure light wounds on Seven when he gets in range (or just cast cure light wounds if I can get in range of him with my move action).

If Jeyne can't climb the ladder:

The situation was looking dire. Seven growled in pain atop the platform, Jeyne stood on the floor staring up helplessly, and the repair drone blocked her path to close the distance between them. So Jeyne took the only option left to her - she began the trek back across the open area in front of the machinery, moving wide to avoid drawing the collector's blows, and made her way up the far ladder, ending up on the reactor's north edge. "Malka, tell Seven to drink a potion!" she called out from the platform, hoping against hope that Malka could hear her - and that Seven had a potion to hand.

You didn't get my token moved on the board, but I believe I should be close enough to close to Seven unless the machinery makes it difficult terrain. If not, ignore my post. I should end up in the square just north of him, which puts Meyanda in my reach for AoO purposes.

At the top of the ladder, Jeyne invoked her Sarenite prayer of healing, creating an eerie blue nimbus of St. Elmo's fire around her hands. Then, nearly leaping across the machine controls in her haste, she reached out and placed a hand on the fallen man's shoulder, gripping her spear in the other. Seven - come back! There is more yet to do.

Seven and the repair drone are 10' above you with the repair drone blocking the ladder. It will take a bull rush or something similar to get up there (unless the repair drone is 'dead')and you will certainly incur an AoO while casting a spell and touching Seven.

Female Android Seeker oracle 1/Speaker for the past shaman 1

I took last round to go north past the collector and climb the ladder - my movement should have put me at the top of the ladder. You didn't move my token for it, though. Now I'm wanting to cast at the top of the ladder, hold the charge, move around the front of the reactor on the platform, and touch Seven to expend the charge (which shouldn't provoke).

I used the 'if Jeyne can't limb the ladder' option you wrote so Jeyne is still in the platform below. You can come up and try casting but you will provoke somewhere along those actions.

Female Human Wizard (metal elementalist)/2

Malka almost lost her grip on her sanity as she saw Seven fall. They'd been through so much and she couldn't lose him now, not like this. A gut wrenching scream ripped from her throat, "NO!" She raised her hand willing the repair drone to move so that Jeyne could get to Seven since it was blocking the ladder. Surprisingly, two magic missiles erupted from her hand and flew towards the automaton.

She then took out her wand to deal with the android should it go after Seven while he was vulnerable.

My can't-climb-the-ladder action was to walk to and climb the north ladder.

If Jeyne isn't trying to climb the ladder blocked by the repair drone then Malka would still attack it so that she can climb the ladder instead.

Ok, but even if Jeyne was north of Seven, she would still incur an AoO when trying to touch Seven from the repair drone. there may even be an AoO from the collector drone but I will ignore that AoO. Even so an AoO may take Jeyne down so beware what you do.

Malka: 8 hit points is not enough to take down the repair drone.

Seven: go ahead and give me two actions: a) if you are healed and b) if you're not.

Questions?

Female Android Seeker oracle 1/Speaker for the past shaman 1

The way I understood it, I could cast out of AoO range and hold the charge, move up, and touch him to discharge it as a free action. Touching to discharge offensive spells doesn't provoke, so touching to discharge a beneficial spell wouldn't either, by my understanding.

d20pfsrd.com wrote:

To use these spells, you cast the spell and then touch the subject. In the same round that you cast the spell, you may also touch (or attempt to touch) as a free action. You may take your move before casting the spell, after touching the target, or between casting the spell and touching the target.

Touching an opponent with a touch spell is considered to be an armed attack and therefore does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

I promise I'm not trying to be difficult - it's a tough situation, and I just want to make sure I'm understanding the rules correctly myself! :) This'll be my last argument on the matter; whatever you call at this point I'll accept (including an AoO from the repair drone if you think it appropriate).

By the way, I'm leaving this morning to visit family - I will have Internet and should still be able to post once a day, but if I go quiet at any point over the next few days, that's why.

I forgot about casting and then moving for these spells so you can cast and then move to touch Seven. I'll still not use the AoO for moving through the collector drone.

Seven was flying.

No, not flying, floating. Below him, the whole of Torch appeared, though it was very small--barely the size of his hand stretched out before him. And he could see forever around, the trills and hills of the countryside surrounding the town. He could see the very woods that he and Malka traveled through on their journey from the Doctors. He smiled at the thought of Malka and realized he'd need to get back down there.

It was then that he noticed the stars. He turned his head to look behind him and gasped in wonder. The black sky opened up before him, spreading out in every direction but down. And there were so many stars! There were more stars than he could ever have imagined or dreamed or hoped. They filled the sky, somehow replacing the blackness with light.

And they called him. Not by his name--at least, not by the name he was accustomed to; not Seven. They called him another name, one that he had never heard, but he somehow knew it was his name. His real name. He was overwhelmed with a sensation that was altogether alien to him; one he had never felt in his entire lifetime.

He felt like he belonged.

He closed his eyes and allowed himself to rise. Up, away from Torch, away from the Doctors, away from the automoms, away from darkness and pain. Up, into the light of the stars.

Malka.

Away from her, too. The girl beyond the cage. The bringer of the blanket and the bear, the one who brought him a pastry. His friend.

And though the stars continued to beckon him, and though he wanted them more than almost anything, he knew he could not go. He could not leave his friend alone.

The whispering of the stars began to fade, and in its place a brakish, dischordant noise arose. It sounded like a machine, and Seven recognized it as the voice of the Jeyne. He felt a hand on his forehead, and terrible pain begin to creep through his body.

Seven opened his eyes.

The Jeyne crouched above him, her face characteristically calm and expressionless. She was speaking him. He didn't know what she meant, though he understood the danger well enough.

The potions. He remembered the Malka had given them to him in case of danger. He reached into his pouch, fumbling around until he had found the largest bottle. He uncorked it and drank greedily.

Seven was injured, badly...but merely outlasting the android woman was not working, Jeyne reasoned in an instant's insight. The stranger looked to be on her last legs...but she was no less deadly a shot even at death's door, and another bolt from her strange gun could cripple Seven whether Jeyne closed his wounds or no. So Jeyne took a calculated risk. Reaching again over Seven, she stabbed forward again - but instead of pulling her attack to distract, she leaned into it with all her strength, driving the point forward. As the spear darted over Seven's prone form, a strange glow began to creep over Jeyne's skin, and her expression hardened to a mask of absolute focus; soon, an eerie blue luminescence traced out a complicated, geometric lattice across her face and arms, and her multi-colored irises disappeared behind a white film.

"I will stanch her wounds, make her stable enough to be out of danger. Someone bring the silk rope tied to my backpack - we may use it to bind her, so she cannot flee or attack again. Then I will heal her to bring her back to consciousness, and we can question her, find out more about why she was here. The collector seems to respond to her commands - someone disable it, so it does not begin to attack again upon her awaking."

Action 1

Seven blinked in disbelief when the Jeyne struck the automom square in the chest. He didn't think she was the type, but apparently she could get real mad, too. He made a note to try not to make her mad at him.

"Good work." he said a little awkwardly. Malka told him it was good to say nice things to others. He wracked his brain for something else nice. "Real brave, you hit like a man" he said with a smile. He climbed down and fetched the rope, moving slowly from his many hurts. "Should I hit it real hard?" he asked in response to her statement about the collector.

Action 2

"Wooooooooow..." Seven stared in wonder at the pretty purple light. It reminded him so much of the purple fire up above, and it made him think of helping Tolgy at the forge, before he went to work at Garritt's junkyard, and those thoughts made him happy. He smiled a little, thinking about the good times. Tolgy had said many times they'd get back to work once the fire came back. Seven didn't realize how much he missed those days until now. The idea of going back to the junkyard suddenly seemed sort of sour.

Though he liked his shack. He hoped Garritt might let him stay.

"Is this how we'll get the purple fire back?" he asked the others hopefully. Tag all

It's a good thing that worked, or delaying healing a round would have been really embarrassing. ;)

Knowledge (engineering): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Jeyne barely heard Seven's question - she was too absorbed in the words flashing across the screen, trying to make sense of the cryptic, glitched-out instructions. Engine failure due to containment breach...to restore engine function, activate [garbled]...caution, [garbled] hazard present upon activation of fail-safe...

"It is...possible that this machine is the flame's source. But I cannot be certain. Zaken? Malka? Can either of you make sense of this? The message seems to be instructions of some sort, but the words are distorted..." Tag all.

Action 1

I think Malka still has one CMW potion since she never gave it to Seven before, we used the hemochem.

As soon as Seven was on his feet, Malka was rushing to his side to hand him one of the potions she still had that she'd purchased in Torch. She waited until he drank it before punching him in the arm. "You scared me!" Then she gave him a fierce hug. "You are not allowed to die. Understand?"
