Mai has fully embraced the meaning of his name and has decided that to protect himself and Livain he will kill anyone who stands in his way. He wishes for a quiet life with Livain, but knows that will never happen while there are those who wish them dead. He is a kind soul forced into a role not of his choosing those who don't know him believe he is heartless and cruel though the truth is the opposite, his soul achs for the death he brings but until they are truly free he will be Death bound in flesh.
Silvery hair just below shoulder lenght. His eyes have draconic looking pupils instead of normal round pupils they are elliptical. His hands are completely covered in small draconic scales instead of nails he has claws. The scales go all the way up his arms to his shoulders stopping just along the base of his neck and along the sides of his stomach and along his spine giving way to massive black wings.
I know normally you want to wait till you get extra attacks to take kinetic blade but the sword is fused to Maiathreen so I wanted him to already have that talent.
Wallace Boyd
I know absolutely nothing about the kinetisist so I cant really say to how good the build is. Looks like you will have some fun with it though. Might be fun to see what Corerue will let you do with Jet Blast when you already have very fast flight. Perhaps you can become Iobaria's first rocket propelled delivery service.
Also hot damn that is a lot of words Corerue. Great transition for Maiathreen as well.
Amusingly I have discovered that you dont seem to need to understand a bard to be inspired by them. While Tim doesn't have the capacity to understand something like a banner it looks like I might be able to affect him with my inspire courage.
Not that it matters as I seem to have hit a dry spell on decent rolls in these last few posts.
Wallace Boyd
Eh, arguably your mysterious healer type could bust out some of the spells he knows. Taking a wild guess that right there is either a druid or a cleric.
Both of them have Air walk on their list of spells, might be fun for Rhavenna to run down the harpy.
Hrmmm... it also means he and I are are not going to be friends if he realizes what deity I happen to follow.
Livain
I'm still playing around with this class some a cool realization is that I can mostly ignore the normal archery feats and focus on my spells since spell strike works much like rapid shot then add in spells and manyshot's not needed so much either. I'm thinking craft arms and weapons along with something at 5th not sure what, but eldritch archer seems pretty cool so far.
Wallace Boyd
So a gene enhanced super soldier and a ridiculously strong devil spawn are dexterous? Sure but they are equally strong or stronger.
I'd suggest grabbing a smaller blade regardless in case you get grappled or one of Corerue's monsters melt one of your hands.
Wallace Boyd
They do have some cool looking weapons. Wish pathfinder had given the Tiger hooks some more love in their system. They are really interesting if a bit impractical compared to something like a simple straight sword.
Wallace Boyd
I think I misunderstood how deep the water is here. Thought the other caverns were entirely flooded but if Tidus can do that then I dont need to worry over it.
So post an is changing, please ignore the current one.
Wallace Boyd
So do you want us to make climb checks as we descend? assuming no other issues a slippery/ steep cliff is something like a DC 5 to climb at a normal rate.
Knotting the rope we have would half the length we can use but make climbing it even more simple. Assuming there is a sizeable set of rocks or other features we can use as an Anchor that ought to not be an issue at least.
Wallace Boyd
Good thing I suck equally at those.
Hopefully i can lean on the anytool to let me limp along.
Depending on what sort of things we find down here Wallace also might try and drag everyone into checking out the pit where the harpies throw all their junk.
Who knows, perhaps we'll hit level five if we go looking for enough trouble.
Wallace Boyd
So wallace's current action is to see if we can get ice out of the water with our weapons. if thats the case then Livain can work with it to make such useful objects as stairs and walls to constrain the water coming out of the fountain heads.
Maiathreen can melt it all later.
Thinking on it if this doesn't work there is nothing preventing us from going back outside and hauling in some big honkin' ice blocks to get the same effect.
Rhavenna
I's probably just gonna create a little ice around the weapon. It's 1 pt and it's running water, Running water is damn near impossible to freeze.
Especially since the water is warm enough to bathe in and moving it would melt the ice blocks. You'd need to cast actual freezing spels to freeze even a section of the water, which wouldn't really last.
Wallace Boyd
We have several other weapons that could be used to generate more cold, the water is running in only a limited sense as it is all coming from the fountain.
Also wallace can create water so just summoning a standing pool we could freeze it to generate enough ice to stop the flow in the pool then it would freeze just fine.
Good point on running water though, didn't think on that one much.
DM Corerue
You also have rock formations and a free standing, albeit larger cave wall you can tie the rope off to as well. Apologies if the description for the cave made it sound flat or featureless. It is a rough hewn cave, unworked in most sections and only partially worked in the first part you entered, built your fire and the area in which you plan to sleep.
Though Rhavenna is correct, even with a multitude of these weapons it wouldn't create a freezing effect to generate enough to freeze the weapons in place like an anchor. Though you could turn your anytool into an anchor and wedge it against some stalagmites that are under water. :).
The cave you are trying to descend is partially flooded, unlike the disposal cave the water is pooling a lot more in this area. not merely streaming down, though its not pooling so quickly to equalize the pools in both caves with its near constant flow.
Very interesting idea there Wallace. Manipulating the Ice with Livain's bending abilities. ;3
Wallace Boyd
Mostly what I'd been looking for on the freezing effect was the ability to drop them into the water and generate a constant trickle of ice that Livain would then be able to manipulate.
Sidestepping the issue of the cave being underwater by clever manipulation of the environment can wait til after our first attempt in here.
Though I imagine the idea of Livain's ice manipulation will come back later. As an at will ability we lose nothing trying it as an option for stuff like this.
Wallace Boyd
Bah, stupid crashing site and its eating my first post.
Ah well.
So unless there are any objections we are going to use the rope wallace brought and his Anytool to make the decent easier, just to get down there without a slew of skill checks that would delay arrival/ exiting by a few days at our posting rate.
Perhaps we can just befriend the cave monster with a slab of bacon. I find the PF underwater combat rules to be a royal pain in the rear. Even if they do reflect the miserable nature of trying to use land based tools in an underwater fashion.
Wallace Boyd
No, not really. Short answer is @#$# November.
However I at the very least have a reliable machine to post from and don't need to stress as much over my situation so I can get back into the swing of thing.
I'll be posting soon.
However if you'd like to progress sooner Wallace will move forward with the group and take the stairs down if possible. His climb skill is nothing to write home about.
