Bahram the rogue |

The unluck critter has moved back, and it is lucky for him that his unluck was in effect making Bahram miss.
With a glance toward where he went, Bahram notices Kat fighting another one.

Boramyr Cliffstalker |

Anarra, over here
Boramyr indicates Bahram who just fell from the rafters.
He then moves up, to get a better shot, and quickly reloads his crossbow.

Anaara Sand |

Healing is...not my specialization. My curative magics are limited, and expended. Anaara refocuses on Moknokk, extending the length of her previous curses and adding another layer of disruptive energy.
Cackle, then Evil Eye to attacks.

Unfortunately, her sing catches on a string of rags comprising part of the next, deflecting the blow wide of its intended target.

Anaara Sand |

Willing her curses to continue longer, Anaara decides to try a different method. She begins a different chant, and a bit of wool in her hand begins to float and glow with an unearthly light. Go! she finishes the chant, and the mote zips with incredible speed, seeming to aim itself straight for Moknokk's forehead.

Second verse, same as the first - cackle. Not much else I can do at this point. Observation, though - shouldn't the round count on my hexes be staying the same, since I've cackled each round to extend them by 1 each time?

Anaara cackles
Noonan misses.
Belros [GMBOT] shoots: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 231d8 ⇒ 7 and "King" Mokknokk falls, dead, to the floor below.
You find on him a small breastplate, a small, magical warhammer, and a small longbow with 20 arrows.
Combat is over.
You have a choice. You may investigate the "King's" quarters in the rafters or carry the unconscious back to camp to get them healed.
Either way, you have gained a level.

Boramyr Cliffstalker |

I think we should take the others back to camp and get some healing.
Boramyr will take the time to gather up the gear to bring to camp.
Will go with majority though, if they want to stay to investigate

Anaara Sand |

I agree, sir dwarf. The needs of the fallen are more pressing. We shall return later and see what may be left in their lair. She eyes the dead pugwampi with distaste. Anything worth the keeping, at least.
As the pugwampi falls, Kevi rushes over to Bacon, fretting over Morrigan's still form, and nudges the pig in what looks like an attempt to comfort him. Here, baby mine, Anaara calls, and Kevi darts back over, looking at Morrigan and Bahram with concern. We'll take them back, don't fret, sweet.
Anaara lifts Kevi to her shoulders, then moves to grab the half-orc woman's feet. Come, sir dwarf, help me with the girl.

TechnoDM |

Barring any one who decides to investigate instead, your trip back to camp is relatively uneventful.
Almah and Garavel are shocked at the condition you return in, and summon Father Zastoran, who is able to heal most of your wounds. "Tomorrow is another day," she says after she hears your account of what happened in the chapel. "Although you were able to get rid of those, pug... pugwampis, I still need you to clear out the rest before we can move in there with our entire entourage."
Dashki, overhearing your account, says to the others, "See! See! I told you how nasty the pugwampis are."
The next morning, a dry and crisp breeze comes from the east. The camel drivers Hadrah and Hadrod, have a big breakfast all prepared for you, and some wrapped cheese and bread for later.

Boramyr Cliffstalker |

Unless there were more of them, so I suggest that we look at that area first thing tomorrow, before we look into the rest of the monastary.
Father, I thank you for the healing that you have provided.
Boramyr sits down to breakfast, and starts to dig in.
So can I mark myself as fully healed ?

Anaara Sand |

Agreed, Boramyr. Searching their nest seems prudent, to ensure no more surprises from it. Anaara nibbles daintily at the breakfast provided by Hadrah and Hadrod, sneaking choice morsels to her fox sitting in her lap.

![]() |

On my phone, but Kat has 2 level 1spells still. She could not cast from the rafters.
CLW Bahram: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
CLW Morrigan: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Hopefully both can walk and we can search the nest before returning to the camp.

Bahram the rogue |

Kat heals Bahram, his eye slowly open and his first sight is Kat (considering she has just healed him). He gives her a smile. knowing she can read his lips, Thanks Kat, I knew you cared.

Morrigan Winters |

Morrigan awakens and thanks Kat and Father Zastoran for their healing. She then sullenly sulks away from the party feeling like she failed again and broods about how she can prove herself next time.

TechnoDM |

The next day, fully healed, you go back to the monastery, and (very) carefully investigate the nest in the rafters.
There, secreted under the chieftain's makeshift throne is a small padded chest containing a magical phylactery and a magical ring. Two spellcraft checks please
Additionally, in the center of the grisly jumble of gnoll skulls, nestled within a mostly dried gnoll lung, is an uncut garnet worth 150 gp. An examination of the far eastern end, on the dais, you find torn-out pages of The Birth of light and Truth (Sarenrae's holy book) strewn about the altar, which has been smeared with excrement.
A total salvage of the chapel turns up 47 gp worth of assorted religious objects, loose coins, and random trinkets.
The chamber on the north of the nave (before the chapel) has a huge bas-relief statue on the ceiling of a muscular humanoid man with a pointy beard gesturing toward a huge mountain in the background, his face a picture of mortal concern. Knowledge local and Knowledge religion.
The southern chamber has a similar statue along the eastern wall, in this case with the bearded figure appearing on a hilltop to a group of robed pilgrims. The being holds up his hands, palms out, in a sign of peace. Though many of the faces and limbs on the bas-relief have been worn down or cut away, the expressions of those range from beatific to horrified. A crude stone stele that seems to have been erected more recently than the abandonment of the monastery stands here as well. Its graven inscription reads: "A ghost of unholy mien was purged from this place by Theodephus Estrovan, servant of Aroden, 4691 A.R." Perception checks, please
Then, from there, you can decide what else to investigate in the monastery.

Morrigan Winters |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

"Perhaps we can check the two alcoves to the north and south of the chapel area we were just in briefly then go from there?"
