Hecktor |

Round 3
This is possible, right?
Free action: Drop Bow
Move & draw scythe combo: towards hobgob while drawing scythe. (+1BaB)
Attack hobgob:
Swing scythe: 1d20 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 4 + 1 + 4 = 17 Last +4 due to -4 penalty being prone. (nice silas)
Damage: 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11

Silas Hawkwinter |

Niles I think Hecktor did 7+6 DMG with that crit. That Hobgoblin is going to be hurting if the scythe connects...

GM Niles |

Silas where are you getting the +6, he rolled 3d6 and got 7...It doesn't matter much because the HG is at -1
@ Hecktor Yes, thats a valid round of actions for sure.

Silas Hawkwinter |

I misread his equipment stats, I thought he had a mighty bow +2 which would allow a +2 str damage modifier x3 due to crit = 6. I think the +2 is actually Hecktor's to hit, however with 14 dex and bab 1 it ought to be +3 to hit, which is why I got confused :)

Gared the Ranger |

Gared continues to attack the wolf, swinging his greataxe at the shaggy beast.
Attack (greataxe): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Damage (greataxe): 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
If the wolf drops, he'll step over the corpse and head towards the goblin. Otherwise he'll remain still.

Percival Lawson |

Percival steps out and rapidly concocts a bomb, flinging the resulting concoction at the creature.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Sorry for the re-do, I was looking at an old map and thought someone had moved up next to the goblin.

GM Niles |

Silas casts Daze DC 14 at the Kobald. Niles please add a move action if anyone needs to get past.

Lucanor |

"Anyone else getting the idea this place is none too friendly?" With the wolves felled, Lucanor must turn and move towards the new trouble.
He'll try to get to the intersection where Gerard was before he moved to get the wolf

GM Niles |

Gared 8/12 hp <---- we are here.

Michael Stamford |

Michael yells to Hecktor as he moves, "I don't think he realized that it was me who ran down his brother and turned his head to paste. Only fitting that you strike down this one."

GM Niles |

Round 3 Recap!

Gared 8/12 hp aids another for Michael's next attack Aid: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Percival, the dart action is ok the end result is the same, Hecktor kills it with his hit. Save your limited per day bombs...
Round 4
Percival <--- we are here.
Lucanor
Michael +2 on next attack.
Hecktor 7/12hp
Silas
Kobald
Gared 8/12 hp

GM Niles |

Heh fair enough.
Percival moves back into the house and deftly throws another dart at the kobold.
Attack: 1d20+3 1d4
Percival's attack takes a -8 penalty, -4 for firing into melee and -4 for soft cover from the two people in between him and the Kobald. So Percival misses.
Round 4
Percival
Lucanor <--- we are here.
Michael +2 on next attack.
Hecktor 7/12hp
Silas
Kobald
Gared 8/12 hp *posted actions

Silas Hawkwinter |

Silas hears the Hobgoblin's death rattle and nods in grim satisfaction and is about to try and shoot the Kobald but he sees Percival miss and thinks: that's a very tricky shot.
Instead he moves 3 squares south and readies an action to shoot any other enemy latecomers to the battle.

GM Niles |

I have Precise Shot, no -4 penalty for firing into melee. And I don't have a -4 penalty, it gets a +4 to AC.
A thousand apologies, didn't refer to your sheet. I assumed no precise shot, and the AC vs -to hit question does it matter? The mechanical roll result is the same right? But the end result is a hit with precise shot. 1 damage to the Kobald.

GM Niles |

No problem, I didn't mention the feat, should have. And you're right that the roll result is the same, just that I imagine there might be a scenario where the difference is important.
Only seen that made an issue with a DM that enforced friendly fire rules on missile weapons. This DM will not be having you shoot your friends in the back.

Lucanor |

Lucanor arrives the hobgoblin, only to find he's made the trip for nothing as its already been killed. "Mmph." He comments, and then races towards the kobold.
Which I'm guessing is a full round again.

Michael Stamford |

Michael rears back for a mighty swing at the kobold.
"Attack my allies from behind, will you? I think not!"
Power attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 1 + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7
Michael's blow lands heavily on the side of the kobold's ribcage.

GM Niles |

Round 4
Percival
Lucanor The HG wasn't dead when you got there. Hecktor killed it after you got there. Its a single move action to get in the position on the map that I put you, you can take another standard action
Michael strikes the Kobald where it hurts!
Hecktor 7/12hp <--- we are here.
Silas
Kobald (-7hp)
Gared 8/12 hp *posted actions

GM Niles |

Round 4

Lucanor moved
Michael strikes the Kobald where it hurts!
Hecktor 7/12hp moved, picked up weapon
Silas <--- we are here.
Kobald (-8hp)
Gared 8/12 hp *posted actions
@Lucanor, no there isn't wany way to melee in the small hallway. It's 5' wide so that means one at a time. You can always aid another.

Silas Hawkwinter |

I posted my actions for round 4 already :) To recap, I don't fancy trying to hit with a -8, so instead Silas will move 3 squares south and ready an action to attack any enemies that may show up. Already been a couple of waves so far, could be more...

GM Niles |

Round 4 recap
Percival shot Kobald <--- we are here.
Lucanor moved
Michael strikes the Kobald where it hurts!
Hecktor 7/12hp moved, picked up weapon
Silas
Kobald (-8hp) runs away!
Gared 8/12 hp aided another successfully for Michael
Round 5
Percival <--- we are here.
Lucanor
Michael +2 attack!
Hecktor 7/12hp
Silas
Kobald (-8hp)
Gared 8/12 hp
The kobald, sensing the end is near withdraws into a nearby room!

Michael Stamford |

Michael will take a single step forward in order to get a good look into both doorways. If he sees any enemies, he'll move to engage them. Otherwise, he'll give chase to the kobold that he's already hit in an attempt to finish it off.

Silas Hawkwinter |

Niles, I was hoping Silas would move 3 squares south :)

GM Niles |

@ Silas, sorry I meant to move you last round, should be fixed.
@ Hecktor I would never! ;)
Has anyone been keeping up with loot? Not that there has been much so far.
Gonna say that for now combat is over....we will resume hostilities as necessary.
Michael to your right you see what appears to be an abandoned library with mold covered shelves. Room 9
Michael to your left you see perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10a room that is in fairly good condition, there are some small tables and chairs. However you notice something is off about the roof, your pretty sure its gonna fall in on you if you proceed. Room 7
Silas I've assumed you recast light onto Michael so he can see. Silas you see that to your right is a shrine of some sort. Room 10

Gared the Ranger |

"We should take care of the goblin," Gared says as the party splits up and moves to the door of the room with the roof that is in poor repair.

Silas Hawkwinter |

I assume you meant Kobald
"Yes we should pursue that kobald, if it's safe!"
Silas will take a quick look around the Shrine before joining the others.
Knowledge(History) Was this shrine mentioned in any of the many tales?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Perception: Quick check for mushrooms: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Wow such dice rolls!

GM Niles |

Silas, you know nothing and see nothing ;)
Just let me know what room # you guys want to investigate the ceiling in room 7 is definitely rigged to cave in if your not careful about entering.
Everyone roll to perception when you make your next post.

Lucanor |

"Our priority is finding the mushrooms," Lucanor states, "Not picking a fight with every miserable creature and his 'brudder' in here."
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Silas Hawkwinter |

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
"Agreed the mushrooms come first, but we didn't exactly pick the fight...", Sighs Silas, "the wind must be picking up outside, glad we're indoors even if this has the feel of a musty tomb."
Silas turns back to study the dusty shrine, ponders it for a while and shakes his head. "Lucanor do these icons around the shrine mean anything to you? I'm guessing its Dwarven but that's about all I can tell", asks Silas.

GM Niles |

Are you guys going in to any of the rooms, let me know so I can post the flavor text for each room. Also, let me know if you specifically begin searching rooms for items/mushrooms or whatever. Right now you guys are all just in the hallway looking into rooms.

Lucanor |

"I'll take a look see." he moves slowly towards the shrine, and hopes to get a good look to see if he can figure anything from the religious angle. "Someone cover me while I take a peek?"
Going into room 10 it looks like.
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Hecktor |

Anybody mind if i take the longbow? It's a good improvement over my shortbow.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 3
As Hecktor takes a look from behind the others into the room;
"Wow, quite a spacious hall for prayers. What is that statue at the back? It looks like it's still in good condition too. "
Edit: Same as Silas, Hecktor will have his bow at the ready

Silas Hawkwinter |

"I've got you covered", says Silas as he scans the area for any potential threats.
Silas will nook an arrow and ready an action to attack any enemies while Lucanor investigates.

GM Niles |

Area 10
Pews of darkwood lie tipped over and covered
in dust on either side of this ancient shrine. At
the far end sits a large ceremonial anvil, but
its surface is defaced and ruined.
Silas: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Hecktor: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Lucanor: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Gared: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Michael: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Percival: 1d20 ⇒ 14

Silas Hawkwinter |

This is where the standard bard, with bardic knowledge would be so much better :)
"Uh guys. There's a couple of bat-squid things on the roof, they seem kinda agitated!", warns Silas.
I don't know what those are, but they certainly don't look friendly, thinks Silas as he takes careful aim.
Silas will attack the one closest to him.
To Hit with Bow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage if that hits: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Lucanor |

"Now who would treat Torag's altar like.." Lucanor glances up, "Oh those are just ugly. " He back peddles from the shrine.
Action, moving back near the others, but trying to block their way in if they want to have at.

Hecktor |

Hecktor will act just like Silas. No questions here, just shoot it.
Release an arrow: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6
Damage of arrow: 1d6 ⇒ 3
And Hecktor sorely misses....
The loot of the hobgob, did anybody take the rest of it? Or am i the only one who took something? (Having seen no reply, i think it's still pending. So sticking to the shortbow for now)

Silas Hawkwinter |

I'll start a loot spreadsheet later, to track who has got what

GM Niles |

@ Hecktor, you realize that you could not act in the surprise round right? Those spoilers were for Silas and Lucanor only.
Surprise Round
Lucanor: Move action to get away from the Darkmantles
Silas: Shoots and hits one for 1 damage.
Darkmantles: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Michael: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Percival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Silas: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Gared: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Lucanor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Hecktor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
FYI currently the Darkmantles are about 20' up attached to the ceiling of the shrine.
Round 1
