Silas Hawkwinter |

Good idea, I seem to remember it working differently in earlier versions of D&D but I'm not sure the pathfinder version would be useful here :( You could try and intimidate the worg, I *think* it gets a -1 on the DC due to satire, and Hecktor seems reasonably good at it.

GM Niles |

The Warg has an intelligence higher than some of you guys, handle animal isn't the skill your looking for, Diplomacy is more appropriate.

Michael Stamford |

A talking wolf. Not a sight you see every day. I wonder if he can read and do tricks too.
"Woah now, hold on. We didn't kill any wolves, or anything furry for that matter, on our way in here. Some hobgoblins, a couple snake-things, and one really messed-up cauldron, sure, but no wolves. And anything we killed attacked us first, making it self-defense. So I don't exactly get where you're saying we killed your pack. As for the lair bit, we're trying to help some sick folks. We've been out here in the woods for a few days now looking for ingredients we need to mix up something to cure a plague. We've got two, and the last one we need is some mushrooms that apparently the dwarves have a big taste for. I'm gonna guess that they're the same as those mushrooms over in the corner there. Now, seeing as all we need is a handful or two of those things, if you'd let us get them then we'd leave and be out of your hair. If you say no, we're going to still need them, and so things could get ugly and both sides could get hurt. But I'd prefer that everyone here keep their life and limbs intact, as I'm sure you would too. However, I'm not you. I can't make your decision for you. I can just lay out the options and let you pick which one you want. I've done that, and so now I ask you - Which is it going to be?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
And a horrible roll. Go-go-gadget random number generator!

Silas Hawkwinter |

Was worth a try! Shame you got a low roll after writing all that :(

GM Niles |

The Worg growls a bit and says
You seek the fungus that grows in this place. Bring me the head of the spider that lives in the tower and I shall let you take one mushroom. Bring me the bodies of the creatures that live in the shrine and I shall let you have another.

Hecktor |

Hecktor closes his eyes and sighs while smiling.
"Figures..the spider. We'll we've got a score to settle."
Hecktor suddenly remembers the kobold they hadn't killed before.
"Two little questions besides the things you wanted."
1)Would we get a third if we bring you the kobold that's been rummaging this place?
2)There is a dead man near the tower. Since the spider hadn't killed him (otherwise he'd be cobwebbed), maybe your pack had a taste of him. That kind of guy must have had a friend just like him if they wanted to walk into this place. Do you know anything about it?"
Hecktor says the latter question in a calm way, though with a faint undertone. A tone one would usually hear if somebody was "really" interested in facts concerning something.

Silas Hawkwinter |

"So you want us to do your dirty work for you? I don't think so. You are outnumbered 2:1, our terms are you let us take all the mushrooms and we let you live. What say you? Are you in a hurry to meet Pharasma?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Ha I wasn't expecting a natural 20, I'm not super keen on letting these live but Silas will keep his word.

Michael Stamford |

That seems more of an intimidate than a diplomacy to me...

GM Niles |

To Hecktor the Worg replies
We feasted upon two legs flesh three sunrises ago. Bring me the spiders head and you can come and take your mushroom.
Silas thats more an intimidate check...you threatened someone with death. Diplomacy is more honey than vinegar.
The Worg turns its eyes to Silas and replies
You smell like a liar. You cannot best Greypelt in combat two legs. Bring me the Spider's head and the bodies of the cave creatures and I will allow you to take these mushrooms.
Greypelt gestures with his snout towards the far corner of his lair.
I'm waiting on Gared to show up....he has info that might change all this diplomacy

Silas Hawkwinter |

Fair enough let's wait for Gared. Still I don't think we should do a wargs dirty work.

GM Niles |

Or its ignoring the question? I'll wait for Gared for another hour or two. He has disappeared like this before. I'll move things along in a couple hours unless Gared shows up in the intervening time.

Michael Stamford |

Wow, hadn't realized he hasn't posted since Sunday. My guess is that the worg has a bounty on his head in town or something.

Lucanor |

You smell like a liar. You cannot best Greypelt in combat two legs. Bring me the Spider's head and the bodies of the cave creatures and I will allow you to take these mushrooms.
"He might not be able to, but WE might. However, assuming we went along with this plan of yours, how do we know you'd not just turn on us when we come back all wounded and bedraggled from the fight with the spider?"
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

GM Niles |

Gared snarls to the group. This is the beast responsible for my parent's death! and charges to the attack!
Greypelt: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
wolves: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Michael: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Percival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Silas: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Gared: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Lucanor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Hecktor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Round 1
Silas <----- we are here.
Michael
Percival
Hecktor
Gared
Greypelt
Wolf1
Wolf2

Silas Hawkwinter |

I'm not clear exactly what happened in the run up to this, since there was a will we won't we diplomacy thing :). If Silas hasn't already he will use Satire, otherwise he'll try Hideous Laughter on the warg

GM Niles |

I was thinking you already used satire on the Warg.
Round 1
Silas casts Hideous Laughter on Greypelt. Will: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 who saves versus the spell!
Michael <----- we are here.
Percival
Hecktor
Gared
Greypelt
Wolf1
Wolf2

Hecktor |

Gared, you might want to switch out with Michael :)
"Wait....Michael!!, don't charge in on your own. Bottleneck like with the skeletons should work. You don't want yourself to die today do you?"
Round 1
Move: Get to square 3 up, 2 left.
Standard: switch scythe to longbow.

GM Niles |

You can switch weapons as part of a move action Hecktor, you still have your standard action to use.

Hecktor |

Ah, well that creates an opportunity indeed :)
Move: switch weapon and move 3 up, 1 left.
Standard: shoot with the longbow at wolf southwest of Gared.
"Let's see what this bow's like."
Hecktor aims and releases.
Release Arrow: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 1 + 2 = 15
Damage of the Arrow: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Michael Stamford |

"Damned fool just rushes in. Too late for diplomacy now...
Michael will move into the corner north of Gared and attack the wolf there.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 1 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 = 9

GM Niles |

Round 1
Silas casts Hideous Laughter on Greypelt who saves versus the spell!
Michael moves to the corner which provokes an AoO from the lower wolf. AoO: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Bite: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Trip: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8. As he passes through the area that Gared is located the lower wolf takes the opportunity to bite Michael. Michael then lands a solid blow on the upper wolf. She whines from the hit. Greypelt howls in rage.
Percival <----- we are here.
Hecktor *previously posted actions
Gared
Greypelt
Wolf1 -9HP
Wolf2

Percival Lawson |

His eyes fixed on the warg ever since it admitted killing two-legses, Percival carefully steps in the room, mixes together vials and powders and throws it in a single swift motion at the creature.
Throw a bomb at the white-background wolf, splash damage hits the other two.
Touch attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Presumably misses, 5 damage to all three, DC14 reflex save halves.

Silas Hawkwinter |

For round 2:
Silas locks eyes with the warg as he in an icy voice, "So! You're off to see Pharasma after all!"
Intimidate to demoralise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Success: If you are successful, the target is shaken for one round. This duration increases by 1 round for every 5 by which you beat the DC. You can only threaten an opponent this way if it is within 30 feet and can clearly see and hear you. Using demoralize on the same creature only extends the duration; it does not create a stronger fear condition.
Fail: The opponent is not shaken.
Might get several rounds of Shaken debuff from that. He'll be at -3 to hit and saves from that and satire.
Free action: maintain satire, 2(?)/7 rounds used so far
Standard action: Intimidate to demoralize, I think the DC for this may be at -1 due to Satire, although the wording of satire is open to interpretation.
Swif action: none

GM Niles |

Percival throws bomb.
Hecktor shoots bow and misses.
Gared <----- we are here.
Greypelt -2HP
Wolf1 -11HP
Wolf2 -2HP
Reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 10 They all make save and take 2 damage

Michael Stamford |

For round 2:
Michael will continue his assault on the northern wolf using power attack, barring anything drastic happening. If Michael is knocked prone during the wolves' turns, he will stand up and then attack. If Greypelt moves forward and Gared is knocked prone, Michael will power attack Greypelt instead. In any case, I'll be needing these dice:
Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 1 = 6
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 2 = 12
And I whiff again! It's just like if I was rolling the dice myself!

GM Niles |

Round 1
Silas casts Hideous Laughter on Greypelt who saves versus the spell!
Michael moves to the corner which provokes an AoO from the lower wolf. A As he passes through the area that Gared is located the lower wolf takes the opportunity to bite Michael. Michael then lands a solid blow on the upper wolf. She whines from the hit. Greypelt howls in rage.
Percival throws bomb.
Hecktor shoots bow and misses.
Gared (-1HP) takes a 5'step into the fray and attacks Greypelt while screaming For momma! Gaxe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 his attack misses.
Greypelt -2HP attacks Gared with a ferocious growl. Bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 Dmg: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Trip: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 Gared goes down!
Wolf1 -11HP attacks Michael Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 misses.
Wolf2 -2HP moves and attacks Percival Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Trip: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 Percival goes down in a tumble as the wolf bites his legs!
Lucanor Wow, I missed that I didn't even put this earlier<----- we are here.

Michael Stamford |

Michael winces upon seeing Gared get hit, and isn't exactly surprised to see that it dropped him.
Sh*t. The fool rushed in stupid again, and now he's bleeding on the floor. Gotta do something...
"Hey, mutt! You gonna let me beat on your woman all day or are you gonna come to her rescue? Hard to get laid when your b&#@% is dead! And I bet she'd make a nice liner for my winter coat, too!"
For Round 2 I'm gonna continue my attack on the wolf rather than Greypelt. I'm not giving up two AoO chances to the wolves, and Greypelt didn't move into range like I was hoping. My rolls are in my previous post.

Gared (-1HP)
Wolf1 -11HP
Wolf2 -2HP
Lucanor

Hecktor |

HAHA on Greypelt being nervous about a 2legs..wtg Silas ;)
Depending on if Percy kills the wolf at his legs:
If not:
Action: Switch bow to scythe
Standard: Attack. Since swinging might risk cutting off Percy's legs, Hecktor is going to (lumberjack style) use the blade overhead.
Making dmg P instead of S
Overhead strike: 1d20 + 1 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 5 + 1 = 13
Damage: 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11
Nice dmg, but fail on hitting
If yes:
Action, move to square numbered 13 and shoot at the wolf near Michael
Standard: shoot the next Arrow
Release Arrow: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 2 = 9
Arrow damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
o.o....yet another fail :)

Lucanor |

Lucanor Wow, I missed that I didn't even put this earlier<----- we are here
Yeah. Because of that, for some reason I thought I wasn't allowed to go the first round. :( I guess I'll go on round 2

Silas Hawkwinter |

Surely we can retcon actions for you in round 1?

Lucanor |

Well, looking at where I am on the map. I probably would have done the same since I can't really get to greypelt here and healing might provoke an AOO and get wasted. However, let me add, as a swift action, a judgement of Sacred Justice. It'll give me a +1 to hit during this fight. Not enough to help me hit in round one, but should still come in handy.

Silas Hawkwinter |

We really need to find a way to shut down the warg. Shame that hideous laughter was resisted, he seems to have a sky high will save so it would have been better if I'd demoralized him first... Apart more marbles and caltrops I'm out of tricks, guess it's going to be aid another from here on!

Percival Lawson |

As Garek falls Percival hesitates, hands poised to mix another bomb; then he gives a small shake of his head. Reaching deep into his coat, he draws out a tiny bottle, its contents a bright shade of blue. Taking a deep breath, he lifts it to his lips and drinks deep, wiping his lips before stowing it away. His eyes begin to lose focus, shuddering, as he whispers "Oh gods I do dislike this efffeeeccccccccccttttherewego!" The shuddering spreading to his entire body, Percival's arms lengthen and his fingers grow hooked. A wide, manic grin spread across his face as he seems to vibrate on the spot, bouncing around, a ball of energy. "Rightotimeforfun!"
Racing forwards, he runs to the corner of the room and waves at the worg, other hand reaching for a dart. "Doggiegetreadysomethingscomingforya!"
Drink mutagen, move to bottom-left corner of the room, before the toadstool.
AC: 18

Silas Hawkwinter |

For round 3:
"Look at the way he's favouring that forepaw! We can take him down if we get him surrounded.", says Silas before taking a slow and careful aim and loosing an arrow at greypelt.
To hit firing into melee: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 3 - 4 = 15
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Free action: maintain satire 3/7 rounds used.
Standard action: attack

GM Niles |

Round 2
Silas intimidates Greypelt, who fears the bard's stinging comments.
Michael attacks wolf but misses.
Percival drinks his mutagen then stands up provoking an AoO from the wolf Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 which misses. He then moves through the wolfs threatened areas. CMB: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 Good enough
Hecktor swings, misses.
Gared (-2HP) bleeds a little Con: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 and is now at -2
Greypelt -2hp growls a bit and he and the female wolf trade places. Greypelt then attacks Michael! Bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28Confirm: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 Lucky Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Trip: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 Michael falls prone!
Wolf1 -11HP withdraws to the corner....licking her wounds.
Wolf2 -2HP moves and attacks Silas. Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Lucanor <----- we are here.
for ease of combat, we are gonna say that drinking a mutagen is a swift action, it doesn't say in the rules specifically, and its a SU ability and I was gonna say it would be like drinking a potion but, only alchemists can drink it so its more like a Lay on Hands.

Silas Hawkwinter |

Silas will also take a 5' step to avoid the aoo from the nearby Woolf before shooting.

Michael Stamford |

OW! That hurt! Also, I'm at 3, not 6. You forgot about when I got bit in the first round.
Round 3:
Michael yells in pain as he falls to the ground, but he stands up again almost as soon as he hits the floor.
"Is that the best you can do, mutt?! My mother could do better than that! Come on, give me your best! BRING IT ON!"
Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 1 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7
Move Action: Stand - Swift Action: Dragon's Challenge(Greypelt) - Standard Action: Power Attack, in that order
All melee attacks that anyone else in the party makes against Greypelt get +1 due to the challenge. I get -2 AC to everything except Greypelt.

Lucanor |

As Silas drops back, Lucanor thrusts at the wolf pressing upon the bard "Hope my sword's half as sharp as your tongue, Silas."
Longsword attack, Judgement counted in 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Dmg if that hits: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

GM Niles |

Round 2 recap

Damage: 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
"Tally ho, incoming!"
Nice roll, is it dead? :)
"Oi, mutt! No more sexin with this one!
Maybe he is pissed enough to provoke aoo now.
