Coming to a Galaxy Near You on August 13th, 2018!

And so it begins!

First Seeker Elsebo Luwazi clears her throat and makes an announcement to all of the gathered Starfinders as they slowly trickle in. “Starfinders, we stand at the precipice of momentous history, and I want to thank you all for making it possible for us to be here today. The Starfinder Society has spent the last year recovering from the Scoured Stars incident, our greatest defeat in recent history. We are finally ready to return to the Scoured Stars, find out what happened to our missing colleagues and friends, and rescue any survivors we can find. Report to your stations and lend your assistance to our fleet by performing the final preparatory tasks. More instructions will come shortly.”

Table GM's. You are good to go on the introductions and preparation.

After a long voyage through the Drift, the bulk of the Starfinder fleet has arrived at the outer reaches of the Scoured Stars system. Several immense carriers form the core of the fleet and contain docked transport ships, fighter craft, and scout vessels. Each of the stored ships contains armor, weapons, provisions, and other equipment. There is an almost palpable feeling of tension and excitement as hundreds of Starfinders aboard the central carriers prepare themselves for the mission. Ahead, a shimmering veil of golden energy conceals the three stars known to be within.

Venture-Captain Naiaj, a no-nonsense bleachling gnome, approaches with a datapad in hand. “Do you have all your gear? Are you ready? Good. Now let’s help our fleet get ready for the final journey into the Scoured Stars. But first, tell me your names and what special training you have so we can assign an appropriate task for you to assist with.”

The gnome squints, peering at all of you. “Who do we have here? Speak up!”

Now is a good time for introductions and any last minute purchases. Also take this moment to slot your Boons. It is recommended to slot the First Skirmish Boon from Starfinder Society: On the Trail of History if you have it.

I am well versed in STEMM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Magic.

Aboard ship, I have filled the roles of Engineer, Science Officer and when required Gunnery. I have also just recently completed pilot training, although others are probably better at it than I.

In the field, I have studied various creatures and am skilled at identifying their abilities. I have some offensive magics and my weapons.” As he mentions weapons, he pats a static arc pistol in a holster at his hip.

DC 20 Culture:
You actually recognize him from some of the Vid Streams he has been on. He has a channel where he will talk about various current topics and to do product reviews. As a native of Akiton, he recently went back there to help with an economic development project. He was also recently on Zo!’s show.

He has also been called in by others to explain various scientific or magical principles on their shows. He generally manages to carry this off without being dry or too technical, often embedding the technical details in side channels of the stream.

He doesn’t generally wear armor or have weapons when doing one of his Vid Streams, which made it a little harder to recognize him.

Best assignments: Historia-7 (Computers), Naiaj (Engineering), Radaszam (Engineering or Survival), Fitch (has all three skills but Engineering is his best).

However, my internal data storage unit indicates that such information should already be stored in your own databanks following our initial introduction at the High Society Gala and my subsequent mission to Apostae. On both occasions, my training in computers as well as engineering and design were used to satisfactory effect. Neon Ten quickly takes a seat.

Reaching into his cheek pouch, he draws out a a thin cable, removes the protective cap on the end, and plugs into the console. The cable is hanging out of his mouth like a piece of floss.

He starts the self-diagnostics while he is getting out his toolkit. He uses the toolkit to verify each connector is operating correctly. He looks over to the android and says “Let me know what systems you are checking Sev, so we can divide the labor. We can cross check each other’s logs as we complete tasks in order to verify everything.

Computers roll, hidden in case someone wants to do their own check rather than an Aid:
Computers, HD Datajack: 1d20 + 17 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 17 + 1 = 20

If anyone else wants to help, Neon will direct them to various tasks that will help him including keeping track of what hasn’t been done yet. It seems he only uses the checklist as a guideline rather than an absolute order of operations.

I have spent all my credit on gear.
” Antoine Désilet, we have met before”. says the photojournalist while showing his press card. ” I have a special exception signed by Radovan and Miss Elsabo to be on board. I will document this event by taking pictures and by talking to a lot of picture. I will also try to not obstruct anyone and to help If I can. That said, there no time to waste. Bye!” Swiftly, he jumps at the side and take a picture of Naiaj with the other Starfinder and then left.

Antoine, photojournalist, does his job. Every corner, every room, every activity and every face he meets are scanned by his eyes as they search for the perfect picture. Even if he considers himself as an outsider, Antoine felt proud to where the Starfinder Society is now. In one year, they went to scrambling to keep the ship afloat to mounting a rescue expedition for their lost personnel.

” It is all because of the new generation of field agents that we can save them today”. muses to himself Antoine.

After the Scoured Stars incident, the photojournalist decided to cover the rise of the new generation and the reconstruction effort that follow. His editor at The homework wasn’t sure at first, but Antoine can be convincing when he wants. He may also have added a few white lies during the talk but that wasn’t important.

This was the best idea of his career. The new generation was full of colorful characters and the events they faced defies imagination. Cultists, new discovered races, terrorist attacks, strange worlds, infiltration of corrupt corporation… There was no end. The public loves their adventures. For them, the Starfinder were heroes and Antoine’s fame, as he was on field with them, grew.

Today, he cannot walk on the street without seen one of his pictures somewhere. Some people even recognize him.

” Anyway”, he reminds himself. “This must not distract me. I have a job to do.”

Sev eyes the ysoki. "I admire your efficiency--combining repair operations with dental hygiene." he says, apparently with all seriousness.

"During our travels here, my audio receptors noted a 12% decrease in anticipated output of volume from the comm system that I believe is likely the result of a faulty circuit relay." Sev remarks as he removes a circuit panel to access the comm system. Attempting to match the efficiency of the ysoki, the android examines the circuit even as he uses it as a makeshift stylus to pull up system schematics for the sensors on a touch screen.

Arriving a little bit late is a very casually dressed android with a rather laid back air about them, although unlike the team's earlier introduction to each other, they are now dressed in D-Suit armor with a heavily augmented rifle slung in a utilitarian two-point harness across the chest-plate, in addition to a sidearm and a backpack nearly bursting at the seams with rock samples and other field gear. They arrive holding a travel canteen of hot, freshly brewed, coffee-scented synthetic oil in one hand and a data pad in the other. A small ruby-red LED is housed in the android's forehead - right where one might expect to find the metaphysical "third eye" of mystic lore. Following closely behind the android is a harried-looking but sharply dressed graduate student in her late twenties.

Nodding upon their arrival, the android puts the data pad away. "Ah, hello, Venture Captain Naiaj! I suspect you meet so many new Starfinders that we have not yet become automatically familiar yet! You can call me Al...2O3 - Planetary Geologist and Starfinder Mechanic, at your service." After a very brief pause and a gesture to the spacesuit-clad young woman walking just a bit behind them, "Oh, and this is Yang Xiao, my teaching assistant. She asked to come along on a field mission here or there, and she can be a rather persuasive speaker...and so here we are! Let's see how we can assist with preparations, shall we?"

After receiving their instructions from the ysoki, Al will give a pleasant (but obviously uncomfortable and mechanical/forced) smile to Kirkath. "Indeed! Historia-7 is very pleased with your work. “Allow me to share a priority code with you. I wouldn’t trust it to any ordinary team, but you have shown the aptitude to use it properly!”

Succeeding on this mission earns your team the following rewards:

Easy: Thankful for the assistance, Historia-7 shares a priority code that allows the PCs to divert CPU power from a carrier to their starship, granting them a +4 bonus to any one Computers check during starship combat. Alternatively, a PC can use this code on a ground mission, allowing that PC to count as being trained in Computers for one check.
Average: In place of the reward above, when a PC fails a Computers check, they may activate the reward to reroll the check with a +4 bonus.
Hard: When the PCs use either of the rewards above, they can roll twice on the Computers check, take the better result, and add a +4 bonus to it.
