Botting Antonine

Pondering on the problem for a moment Antonine has an ephiany as he retrieves a camera.

He was leader of Barakul’s Blazers — an elite group explorers, rangers, and survivalists. The entire group disappeared into the Scoured Stars.

As he shakes himself clear, he says, “This place... It’s drawing on our subconscious, right? But that means we can draw from it as well!’ He concentrates, and wings sprout in his back. “Oh yeah! That’s what I’m talking about!”

He provides you with a secret technique that allows you to grow wings, gaining a fly speed of 30 feet (Ex, average).

You had to go upsetting people, pulling them out of their routines, and interrupt months and months of important calculations!” He sneers, his form shuddering...

Jodain is a huge elemental native to this place that is capable of shifting his form each round with different summoning grafts. This is his pocket universe after all. Currently, he has the form of an angel.

Knowing that they won't be able to determine anything more than Neon Ten, Al instead mentally signals Yang to withdraw to a safe distance. The android quickly leverages the technique described to them by Historia-6 to learn this enemy's "DR, resistances, and current HP as a free action".

Edit: Didn't see Neon Ten's edited post before making mine. Questions for the GM - how often can we use these techniques, and what is the action economy of the two non-free-action ones? Thanks very much!

Seeing the sheer size of this opponent, Al has Ruby activate their Energy Shield as a standard action as they move to spread out from the group, drawing their rifle along the way and disengaging the Merciful weapon fusion - a virtual construct such as this is likely to be immune to nonlethal tactics!

GM:
A second question I just thought of - does RTEP work while in the virtual world? I ask only because a friend of mine's group is apparently also doing this mission and are thinking about fleeing, but their GM might not have told them about the RTEP thing at all. Thanks and sorry to bother you!

Ivok stumbles a bit after dodging those two close blows, but after a moment he grounds himself.

"I will admit, I've been wanting to punch a shapechanging AI for a few months now. Come on and fight me!"

Screaming full force Ivok augments the runes on his pike to include the power of electricty as he strikes at the giant.

Using Silask's ability, cryopike is gaining the shock fusion and full attack Jodain. Includes get 'ems +2 to to attack and damage.

The creature is not flatfooted, so both Ivok’s attack of opportunity and his regular attack miss. Neon’s summoned buddy shows Jodain that both sides can have robots, and hits with one of its sonic attacks! Then Neon Magic Missiles, and Sorami brings the creature down with a sonic shot right through its missing eye!

COMBAT OVER

As Jodain falls, the simulation blurs, all of its colors swirling until they straighten again into a rainbow bridge that you and fhe formerly captive Starfinders start to walk upon. At the end of it is a blinding light and...

You wake up.

“You did it!” One of the technicians says as he hurries around, helping everyone disengage from their pods. “Did you have to do everyone at once?”

“Let me out first!” Historia-6 says. “I need to get to command central, and see what a mess my successor has made of things.” He hurries away without a backward glance at all of you, but the other Starfinders that you rescued clamber around you, shaking your hands.

“If I never have to see another cheery smiling flower, I’m good with that! Great job, Starfinders!”

Seeing Historian-6’s reaction, Neon Ten takes a moment to send a message to Historia-7 warning her of the current mood her predecessor. That was abrupt, even for an Android.

Then he smiles and talks to a few of the rescued Starfinders, encouraging them to help the technicians get everyone going so they can be ready to leave this system soon.

It is a team effort, really. Do not underestimate the talents of the people that inserted us into the simulation.

We have more of the expedition to rescue, please if any of you has information that might help us with further rescue efforts, share it with the personnel. That willl help our fleet coordinate other rescues.

EVACUATION MISSION 5: SANDS OF OBLIVION

Radaszam, leader of the Acquisitives faction, briefs the PCs for this mission. “Recon teams who visited an ancient city gained information on Starfinders who may be stuck on the desert planet Callion-1. We sent a ship closer to the planet to scan it and turns out, the intel was good; there are Starfinders down there. It’s a tidally locked world where one side is a frigid tundra and the other a blazing hot wasteland. If that doesn’t sound bad enough, our weather scans show there’s a gigantic magnetic storm raging in the part of the planet where our friends are. Flying vehicles won’t be safe to fly anywhere near the storm, which is why you’ll be using two all-terrain vehicles to reach them!”

Before they leave, you can customize their two all-terrain transport vehicles. You have to take both vehicles. Each has two turrets in addition to the standard features, and the PCs can have the following types of weapons (supplied by the fleet’s armory) to be installed in the turrets (one per turret): advanced shirreneye rifle (2d10 P), advanced X-gen gun (2d12 P), or tactical magnetar rifle (2d8 P). When mounted, a weapon is more stable to shoot, and the penalties for shooting while the vehicle is moving at a normal or full speed are reduced by 6 in Subtier 1–2, by 4 in Subtier 3–4, and by 2 in Subtier 5–6.

"I will admit after those first missions I was becoming discouraged, but being able to save them gives my hope. We can do more!"

Ivok will be joining the Green Galoot as a gunner. I will be installing the advanced X-gen gun and, if I have time, will be spending 10 minutes to imbue the gun with the my Rune of the Eldritch Knight and giving it the frost fusion.
