Radomir Shax
Dang i totally missed the inspire courage.. please, add 2 to my damage and attack rolls. i'm reposting here for convenience.
Round 2
Radomir sends another volley of arrows towards the fungs
attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 +2 from inspire courage = 17
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 +2 frominspire courage = 7
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 +2 from inspire courage = 9
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 +2 from inspire courage = 12
The Winds of Fate
Because Inspire Courage specifically calls out "weapon damage rolls" I'm guessing I don't get the bonus on spell damage. If that's wrong, throw in a +2.
I'm allowing the spell to count for spell damage as long as it is doing hit point damage.
Round 2
Othniel throws acid at a fungi. 3dmg
Alexander fires an arrow at a fungi. 4dmg
The Violet Fungi attempt to escape the vines:
reflex save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8
reflex save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
reflex save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3
All failed.
The vines struggle ineffectually to get to all of you.
Finnegan fires an arrow into one of the fungi. 14dmg
Radomir hits one of the fungi with an arrow, the other goes into the vines. 7dmg
One of the fungi goes limp in the vines.
Eduard lobs acid at a fungi.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15, 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
One of Andrea's rats is successful at biting a fungi. 6dmg
Finnegan "Devilbow" Rook
Round 3
Finnegan unloads into the other violet fungi he studied.
Attack, Inspire courage, Studied target, Manyshot, Rapid Shot: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 24
Damage Arrow 1, Inpsire Courage, Studied target, Manyshot: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 15
Damage Arrow 2, Inpsire Courage, Studied target, Manyshot: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 12
Attack, Inspire courage, Studied target, Rapid Shot: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 28
Damage, Inpsire Courage, Studied target: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 10
Attack, Inspire courage, Studied target, Rapid Shot: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 18
Damage, Inpsire Courage, Studied target: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 9
If that fungi goes down, move onto the final fungi, and subtract 2 from all rolls because it's not a studied target.
Alexander Orlovsky
Round 3: Initiative 16
Active effects: Inspire Courage +2 [2/2], Entangle 5 minutes, 48 seconds
Alexander takes another shot at the fungi.
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Inspire courage will run out next round on Alexander's action.
Radomir Shax
Wow, Finnegan.. I suddenly feel very small and tiny.
Radomir gives Finnegan a professional sort of nod and then fires his bow at the violet fungus again.
attack, sinpire courage: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 + 2 = 28
damage, inspire courage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10

Othniel Laurentius
Othniel fire more acid at one of the remaining fungi.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 2 = 18 vs. Touch AC
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Othniel Laurentius
"Sure thing boss." Othniel says, before looking around the area. Taking 10 on Perception for a 21.
The Winds of Fate
Your time searching amongst the assorted normal mushrooms, fungi, mosses and decomposing remains turns up the following items of value: a battered breastplate, a suit of rusted chainmail, three daggers, two longswords, three broken spears, a short sword, a masterwork warhammer, a vial of silversheen, a set of masterwork thieves’ tools, and 121 gp in scattered coins.
-------------------------------------------------
Which of the smaller passageways would you like to explore first? The tunnels for the smaller passageways both curve and you cannot see into the caverns they lead into.
Finnegan "Devilbow" Rook
"Seems as good a direction as any. Maybe the tunnel loops its way around to a back entrance into the owlbear's cave."
Finnegan will take point, looking for any signs of tracks or other inhabitants of the cave.
Survival: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
The Winds of Fate
The narrow tunnel widens here into a natural cavern, the dimensions of which are hard to discern for the thick sheets of webbing that fill the place.
Perception checks for anyone entering the cavern that opens up from your tunnel.
Alexander Orlovsky
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
Spiders. Why did it have to be spiders? Alexander says, as he peers into the webbed cave. Well, let's clear out these cobwebs, shall we? He finishes with a smile.
Finnegan "Devilbow" Rook
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
”Not just spiders, but big ones - big enough to be a real threat. We need to keep an eye out.”
Finnegan draws an arrow and mocks it to his bow, ready to pull it back and loose at first sign of hostility.
Alexander Orlovsky
Eduard, got anything to burn these webs with? I'd rather not let a fire get out of control underground. And there might be something worth saving in these webs. Alexander shrugs, But it would be safer.
Finnegan "Devilbow" Rook
"Hold up! There's a barely noticeable sheet of sticky webbing right across the entrance to this cave - we need to get rid of it before we can continue, otherwise we'll get stuck and be lunch for the spiders that live here."
Eduard Petrov
Eduard will cast Summon Monster II to bring a fire elemental along.
Will this suffice? He'll then direct the elemental to carefully burn the webs as necessary, trying not to create a blaze and watching carefully for anything that is exposed.
The Winds of Fate
The summoned fire elemental carefully burns a passageway through the sticky webs that were blocking the entrance. As you advance into the entrance way, you are able to make out some more details of the cavern. Such as a number of webbed sacs suspended from the ceiling and several large spiders descending from the ceiling on webs with all eight eyes fixated on all of you.
You also can see what appears to be the opening of another tunnel on the far side of this cavern.
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
The ceiling is 20 ft high in here, the spiders are currently 15 ft off the ground. At it's widest, this side cavern is 30ft by 35ft.
Finnegan "Devilbow" Rook
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Finnegan, spying the spiders descending from the ceiling, warns the others, "Here they come."
He then quickly studies two of them and looses an arrow at one.
Attack, PBS, studied target: 1d20 + 12 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 1 + 2 = 32
Damage, PBS, studied target, sneak attack: 1d8 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 + 2 + (3) = 12
I can't wait until I can use Studied Target as a swift action at level 7. Until then, move action for studied target on the two closest spiders, and a standard to shoot an arrow at one.
Othniel Laurentius
Othniel follows Finnegan's lead, flinging a glob of acid at the spider the tiefling just shot.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Alexander Orlovsky
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Forgot to roll Initiative. Oops.
Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Looks like I'm after Alexander also.
The Winds of Fate

ranged web attack at Radomir: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 miss
Apparently spiders have poor aim...
Andrea, you are entangled: An entangled creature can escape with a successful Escape Artist check or burst the web with a Strength check. Both are standard actions with a DC equal to 10 + 1/2 the creature’s HD + the creature’s Con modifier. Attempts to burst a web by those caught in it take a –4 penalty.
Othniel finishes off the spider that Finnegan had just shot.
Eduard Init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Eduard shoots acid at a spider.

Damage, PBS, studied target, inspire courage: 1d8 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 12
Contingency: If the first spider I shot goes down, move subsequent attacks to the next spider, and subtract 2 from all rolls since it isn't a studied target.
Radomir Shax
Radomir snarls in rage and fires his bow twice more a spider
longbow, inspire courage: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 9 + 2 = 23

Othniel Laurentius
Shifting to split the spiders attention ie attacking whichever one is between him and a party member, for the flanking bonus and sneak attack damage. Othniel tries to slice at one of the humongous arachnids, but his fear of spiders gets the best of him, and he flails uselessly.
Aldori Dueling Sword: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

ranged web attack at Finnegan: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
ranged web attack at Othniel: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
ranged web attack at Radomir: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
And they all miss
Radomir fells the one he'd been attacking and with half of their number killed already, the remaining spiders scurry back up their webs and retreat into the hidden corners of the ceiling.
Do you wish to turn back or continue on?
Alexander Orlovsky
Alexander draws his sword and lifts his shield. Othniel. You and I will take point. Mr. Rook, cover Andrea and Eduard. Radomir, take the rear and watch for those things dropping down on us. He frowns as he steps forward. Let's not get caught in any webs and give them a better shot. Eduard, can you send that elemental around to burn a path? Should be good for another moment or two, no?
Othniel Laurentius
Othniel, still shuddering a bit at the giant arachnids, nods and moves forward. He's careful to leave plenty of room for the elemental to pass by him.
The Winds of Fate
The strands of webbing sizzle, hiss and shrink back from the passage of the fire elemental as it slowly makes it's way to the tunnel on the far side of the cavern.
You can hear skittering and chittering from the spiders as they keep moving to keep the greatest amount of distance from you as they can. Clearly, seeing half their number quickly killed off has demoralized them and they wish to stay alive.
One of the low hanging cocoons is close enough to the elemental's path that the lower side of it starts to burn away and you can make out what lies in it. The desiccated remains of what may have once been a human male wearing some kind of leather armor can be partially seen. Not surprisingly, you are not the first adventurers to make your way into these caves, but hopefully you will be the first to survive them.
You can all make your way to the far side tunnel without the spiders attacking again. Laying straight ahead of you is a cavern, buzzing fills the air in here and the caverns which arches up to a height of twenty feet. At the southern end of the cavern, a wide ledge runs along the cavern wall at a height of about fifteen feet. In the eastern portion of the cavern lies the giant carcass of some great beast, surrounded by at least half a dozen humanoid bodies. Immediately to your right as soon as you pass through the entrance you see a short (10ft long), 15 foot wide tunnel leading into a very large cavern. The ceiling of this huge cavern arches thirty feet into the air. A murky pool of water stands in the western portion of the cavern in front of a narrow passage, little more than a crack, that opens in the wall. Wider, sloping tunnels lead out of the cave to the north and southeast. A jumble of bones, rocks, fur, and feathers sits piled against the southern wall. It appears to form some sort of crude nest and a huge feathered mass seems to laying in it, body gently rising up and down as it appears to slumber.
Finnegan "Devilbow" Rook
As the spiders retreat, Finnegan eyes them. "Maybe we should finish them off - in case we need to retreat this way."
Since the others seem content to advance, Finnegan shrugs and covers the others as they make their way further through the tunnel.
Once they approach the larger, buzzing cavern. Finnegan stops and evaluates the area, noting the bodies, as well as the tunnel leading to a massive feathered mass. He points that way, then mimes sneaking up to kill it.
