Alexander Orlovsky |
Once Alexander recovers, nearly a minute later, he wipes his mouth and shakes his head, as if to clear it. Foul. He frowns, We'll have to find some way to explore the area. I'd hate to find out that such a place holds something dangerous for our people...or our plans.
Finnegan "Devilbow" Rook |
"Agreed. The stench is quite awful. We'll have to think of something to do, though. If we leave it free, who knows what sort of dissidents or creatures could make a home there to plot an attack on us."
Alexander Orlovsky |
Alexander shrugs, We'll need to search it eventually. He coughs and wipes his mouth again, Might as well be now, I suppose. The look on his face makes it appear he's not all that pleased at the prospect. Dismounting, he ties his horse's tether to a tree. Czernabog may be able to handle this, but I'd rather not trust this one to not run from such a smell again. Turning back towards the pool of foul mud, Before we enter, perhaps we should send a scout...
Alexander casts Summon Nature's Ally II, summoning a small mud elemental. He'll hold casting and cast along with Eduard if he'd also like to summon a creature for them to send in together.
Go, tell me what's in that pool, he directs the small misshapen mass of mud that appears.
Pulling up his scarf, he follows the creature (or creatures) after a moment.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
The elemental will have five rounds of actions. Alexander intends to let them go into the pool first, and then follow them into the area a round later. The elemental has tremorsense, darkvision, and the ability to burrow.
Radomir Shax |
My Lord, once you have cleared this place of threats. This could be an excellent punishment for those who displease you, but are too important to outright kill. They could be sent here to work, as either guards or officials. You could erect an oubliette here. The bog would make any rescue attempts challenging, and the smell...
Othniel Laurentius |
"I think Lilandria's castle is probably more than adequate for valuable prisoners, but it never hurts to have a contingency plan. In fact, I think it may be time for a visit to our fair jailer once we return to the capital, there should be a few criminals who'd benefit from her...care." Othniel says, looking contemplative.

Alexander Orlovsky |
Alexander stops for a moment, Oh...yeah. That thing is a predator. Tendriculos. A carnivorous plant. Elemental. Attack an draw it out.
Alexander readies to cast glitterdust on the thing when it comes out of the mud. Hopefully it doesn't have tremorsense!

The mud bowl it is currently in is considered difficult terrain.
The huge creature moves rather slowly and it takes it about an hour before it moves up out of the mud and follows in the direction of where it saw the summoned creatures go.
Once it is out, then you are able to charge it if you wish.

CMB to pin/swallow: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
damage from bite as swallowed: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 5) + 7 = 13
Once swallowed you are affect by Paralysis. You can make a Fortitude save DC 18 to negate it.
Paralysis (Ex or Su)
This special attack renders the victim immobile. Paralyzed creatures cannot move, speak, or take any physical actions. The creature is rooted to the spot, frozen and helpless. Paralysis works on the body, and a character can usually resist it with a Fortitude saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 the paralyzing creature’s racial HD + the paralyzing creature’s Con modifier; the DC is given in the creature’s description). Unlike hold person and similar effects, a paralysis effect does not allow a new save each round.
