Straining through gritted teeth the stocky dwur begins to reel in his companions.

Male Human Rogue 4 AC:18 T:14 FF:14 / HP:16 / Init:+4 / F:+2 R:+8 W:+2 / CMD:19

Seeing Markus retreat, Pavo plays it smart and also retreats, helped along by the sudden pull from the surface.

Full retreat action

Human Cleric of Ralishaz 3 AC 18 / HP 17/27 / F +5 R +3 W +7 / Init. +2 / Perc. +11)

With a grunt of exertion Ramos hauls back on the rope along with Severrir. Gods! What is that thing?!

Male Human Lore Warden 3 - Scout 4 | AC 21/16/15 | HP 27/63 | F+7 R+9 W+4 | Init +3 | Perc +10

Not sure, Ramos... but it hits hard. Another attack and I could have been dead. I'm afraid the lads a a stubborn bunch.

Silver Crusade

Male Halfling Wizard 8 AC 20/16, Touch 14, FF 17/13 / HP 50/50 / F +7 R +8 W +11; +2 vs. fear / Init. +7 / Perc. +12

The wizard, having acted, is underwater and now by himself. He holds onto the rope hoping that he will be pulled in before the creature attacks him.

Dwur Barbarian (Drunken Brute Invulnerable Rager) 8; AC: 18, Touch 11, FF 17; HP: 104/104; DR: 4/- ; Cold Resistance 1; Init: +1; Perception +10, Darkvision 90ft.; Fort +13 Ref +4 Will +4

Sverrir is wasting no time in pulling anyone attached to the rope out...

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

Seeing Sverrir easily pulling the rope in, Khyrn draws his axe and moves to the edge of the water, preparing to strike any enemies that emerge.

Male Human Lore Warden 3 - Scout 4 | AC 21/16/15 | HP 27/63 | F+7 R+9 W+4 | Init +3 | Perc +10

Brilliant! The Halfling as bait... we were just chumming the waters... Chum!

Lucid emerges from the water with a splash and a splutter. No sooner than he has cleared the water, the water surges up after him forming into a rough humanoid shape.

Khyrn Readied attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 catching the creature by surprise (FF)
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 and dealing a vicious blow.

Stats:

AC 17, touch 11, flat-footed 16 (+1 Dex, +6 natural)
hp 13/30
Fort +6, Ref +5, Will +1

It lashes back in rage:

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16, but misses.

You may all take a turn. FYI, as the hall is only 10ft wide, only one other person besides Khyrn, can get into melee range without causing an AOO

Male Human Lore Warden 3 - Scout 4 | AC 21/16/15 | HP 27/63 | F+7 R+9 W+4 | Init +3 | Perc +10

Marcus is probably the closest... worried about Lucid, and hal fready to dive back in.

Seeing the thing emerge, Marcus hefts Sverrir's pick-axe and tries to skewer the aqueous form... his mind, trying to fathom if that's even possible!

Die, you son-of-a-b*%~+! Damn you!!

Attack, pick-axe, +2 if flanking: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage, pick-axe: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Crit Confirm, pick-axe, +2 if flanking: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Nice hit, but if its an elemental it cannot be critted.

If the creature is still up Lucid will use his Arcane bond to cast Magic Missile one more time after stepping 5' back.

Magic Missile: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 2 = 7

Male Human Lore Warden 3 - Scout 4 | AC 21/16/15 | HP 27/63 | F+7 R+9 W+4 | Init +3 | Perc +10

Crappies! Maybe it could break apart... and reform or something cool like that! Then you finish it, as it coalesces making some scary sloshing sound!

Male Human Rogue 4 AC:18 T:14 FF:14 / HP:16 / Init:+4 / F:+2 R:+8 W:+2 / CMD:19

Seeing the strange water creature lunge out of the water, Pavo lashes out with his dagger.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Dwur Barbarian (Drunken Brute Invulnerable Rager) 8; AC: 18, Touch 11, FF 17; HP: 104/104; DR: 4/- ; Cold Resistance 1; Init: +1; Perception +10, Darkvision 90ft.; Fort +13 Ref +4 Will +4

Damn impressive swipe their Markus - reckon you should wield it all the time lol

Sverrir drops the rope and readies his cold iron hammer, should the combat go ill for the party.

yup no crit.

Between Marcus and Lucid, the creature drops, slowly losing form and sinking back into the water.

Combat is over.

Male Halfling Wizard 8 AC 20/16, Touch 14, FF 17/13 / HP 50/50 / F +7 R +8 W +11; +2 vs. fear / Init. +7 / Perc. +12

Lucid looks exhausted. We are victorious, but at the cost of most my my arcane power for the day. If we were to rest and heal up I could prepare some spells to allow one or two of us to breath and underwater. I believe Khyrn could also prepare such a spell.

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

"Were you able to investigate anything under the water before being attacked?"

Lucid, what spell are you thinking about for Khyrn?

Silver Crusade

Male Halfling Wizard 8 AC 20/16, Touch 14, FF 17/13 / HP 50/50 / F +7 R +8 W +11; +2 vs. fear / Init. +7 / Perc. +12

First level Spell - Air Bubble. Pretty sure its on the cleric list. Lucid took it as one of his two free spells when he leveled. Its conjuration and he has to take at least one conjuration every time he levels. Only lasts a minute a level, but compared to holding your breath while fighting, 2 minutes is a long time.

Human Cleric of Ralishaz 3 AC 18 / HP 17/27 / F +5 R +3 W +7 / Init. +2 / Perc. +11)

Hrm, diden't know about that one! I guess I can take it as well. That would be three people.

Ah, yes, it's on the list. I missed that when I looked back through - thanks!

Male Human Lore Warden 3 - Scout 4 | AC 21/16/15 | HP 27/63 | F+7 R+9 W+4 | Init +3 | Perc +10

Nearly forgot, the reason for the flooding... There seems to be a lot of debris blocking the intended drain. Maybe it can be cleared with some extended effort. We should probably secure the area first.

But, I hope it's not lost on anyone. We encountered an earth elemental, and now a water creature... Actually, maybe the earth elemental can eventually do the clearing.

Human Cleric of Ralishaz 3 AC 18 / HP 17/27 / F +5 R +3 W +7 / Init. +2 / Perc. +11)

Ah Markus, it looks like you took a few blows during our fight with the water elemental. Let me take care of that for you. Closing his eyes momentarily Ramos holds forth his holy symbol of Ralishaz. Calling upon the might of his lord a wave of holy energy flows forth accompanied by the sounds of dice clinking together.

Channel Positive Energy (twice) 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8

Human Cleric of Ralishaz 3 AC 18 / HP 17/27 / F +5 R +3 W +7 / Init. +2 / Perc. +11)

Now, as to the flooded area. That elemental seemed very territorial. Lets send you back down there again along with Pavo. We can keep the rope tided to you. If the area is as small as you mentioned then it should be easy to quickly examine the room and then leave.

Male Human Lore Warden 3 - Scout 4 | AC 21/16/15 | HP 27/63 | F+7 R+9 W+4 | Init +3 | Perc +10

Markus is instantly rejuvenated. I'll never get use to it, or take it for granted. You boys ready for more?

Human Cleric of Ralishaz 3 AC 18 / HP 17/27 / F +5 R +3 W +7 / Init. +2 / Perc. +11)

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

Khyrn steps forward, "I'll go too, if nobody minds."

He begins removing his chainmail in anticipation of the swim.

Male Human Lore Warden 3 - Scout 4 | AC 21/16/15 | HP 27/63 | F+7 R+9 W+4 | Init +3 | Perc +10

Perhaps with a false sense of security, hefting the pickaxe... Markus wades back into the water.

If you don't mind holding the rope, I think it's a good safety measure to have. Khyrn will use it.

Agree. Lucid is out of first level spells, with the exception of Grease, which I suspect will not do much under water. He is not going this time. He can try to assist with the rope if something is pulling back - he is not real strong, but you only need a 10 to assist.:)

Sverrir once again resumes his position with the safety rope;

"Good fishing lads. Hope you katcher something golden har!"

Assuming Pavo is joining Khyrn and Marcus.

Entering back into the water, you return to the submerged room. Arched doorways open in the walls to your left and right and a closed stone door stands in the wall oposite you.

Male Human Lore Warden 3 - Scout 4 | AC 21/16/15 | HP 27/63 | F+7 R+9 W+4 | Init +3 | Perc +10

Marcus returns to the watery chamber hefting his anchor... pickaxe, scanning left and right. He them turns right towards that arch.

Male Human Lore Warden 3 - Scout 4 | AC 21/16/15 | HP 27/63 | F+7 R+9 W+4 | Init +3 | Perc +10

Markus uses two fingers of his hand to point to his own eyes then outwards toward the room to the right... panning them left and right.

Hu (M) Clr 2; hp 17/17; F +5, R +1, W +7; AC 17, t 10, ff 17; Init +4; Per +5; CMD 13

Khyrn nods and gives Markus a thumbs up.

Perception roll, you got +5!

Reaching the door way, you peer in to see a small room with four low benches and several empty niches in the walls.

Seated on the nearest bench is a figure in tattered robes with a dark cloak fluttering about it. In its clawed hands is a gnawed and broken bone. It's eyes glow with a dark malevolence, as it catches sight of your approach.

Knowledge (Religion) DC12:
It's a ghast. Its attacks cause paralysis.

For what its worth, I agree, that without pounce, the ghast should only have one attack after a move. Ghasts with pounce would be awesome! :)

My bad, that is correct, not a pounce ghast, so just the first claw attack. Also, undead are susceptible to crit in PF

GM Fanguar - what if anything can Sverrir detect from the rope movement? Cause enough for concern?

From above, Sverrir eyes the sharp movements of the safety rope with grim eyes...

@Sverrir: I would say you would notice a change in the nature of the rope movement and recognize it as similar as to when they fought the elemental.
