Take twenty... I will allow it, but there will be consequences. Or people in the sinkhole digging through the rubble can just roll a standard perception check.

Once you’re away from the sinkhole you can open the coffer to find four scrolls and seven potions. Three of the potions you recognized as potions of cure light wounds.

So I think it's a time-waster to have you constantly identify magic items that you've already seen before. So, starting now, I'm going to keep a list of magic items that you identify, so if you come across them again you don't have to try and figure out what they do.

You cannot take 20 when trying to identify a magic item or decipher a scroll. You can take 10 if you have the spellcraft skill.

The scrolls in the coffer are a scroll of cure moderate wounds, a scroll of daylight, a scroll of remove blindness/deafness, and a scroll of remove disease. The potions include four potions of lesser restoration.

There does not appear to be anyone around other than the occasional passerby.

The contrast between the surrounding estates and the remains of the Victocora estate is as sharp as the grass and the scorched-earth surrounding the ash. Stone and wooden beams marked by fire sit atop large piles of soot, waiting to be taken by the first poor scavengers to set foot in the Greens.

Did I mention anywhere in this game that I want us to switch to block initiative? Because I remember mentioning to my other game that I want us to switch a block initiative to make things go faster but I can’t remember if I did that here.

Well I finally finished up with my character replacements in my other game so now I can talk about how I Implement block initiative.

I roll everyone’s initiative and see what they get and use that to determine which block goes first. You can still delay till after someone else acts, ready actions, etc. Otherwise, priority goes to the block of whoever rolled the highest initiative.

So, for example, Johnny rolled the highest initiative in this fight, so all of you get to go first, the rats go after you all in this scenario. However, there’s a rat immediately behind a Johnny in the initiative order, so if Johnny’s HP gets taken to zero or below, the rats will have priority and get first move on the next round.

So everybody go into the gameplay thread and declare your actions.

It’s been over a month since anyone posted anything here in the discussion thread. Anyway there just needs to be a little more exploring done and we can begin building up your “good guy” reputations.

And while we’re at it why don’t you level up as well. Technically you have one more set piece to go but since the prison break took so long I feel you deserve it, plus it’ll help you get through the last set piece before the open-endedness of this campaign opens.

Adelina is upgraded. Basic level two rogue, thought she now has certainty(diplomacy) and can hide her alignment. AND maybe she can take a hit without crumbling like toast each time.


Yeah. you’ll be heroes... as long as one of you doesn’t screw up.

Imperia has taken a sorceror level with crossblooded Infernal/Fey. This has minimal mechanical effect apart from lowering(!) her will save and ensuring that almost every enchantment she casts from now on has +2 to its DC. :D

How are we doing HP by the way?


Did I not mention this before? Half your hit die plus one or roll your hit die. If you roll you must keep the result.

It does amuse me that Johnny is apparently as handsy as they come, and yet still hasn't even thought about trying anything on Imperia :)

I believe Adelina was unconscious when he got all handsy, might be part of his particular healing magic. We'll see if Khor ever needs healing :)

Actually Johnny has a deal with Khor and doesn't find men or orcs attractive. When he gets the chance he will be handsy, no worries. He has been at the bottom of a sewer after all

Personally I have no problem with Khor at all, its simply that he and Imperia (the cold hearted ice queen if ever there was one) are going to have to come to an arrangement of their own - and the only kind Imperia will accept are the ones where she's in command.

She'll happily let him eat corpses as long as he's not too obvious about it and does as he's told. :)

As long as we're all on the same page as players I'm sure we can make it work out in the end. :D

Following Imperia's plan, which presumably involved making diplomacy checks and the passage of time.

But seriously boys, if you don't tone down the talk of eating people and breaking them then no-one is even going to hold a conversation with us! There's evil and then there's "Look, I'm never going to fit into any urban society whatsoever because I'm going to EAT YOU!" The second one is part of the fun I agree but a planning nightmare :P

Ultimately it is up to our GM though with how much we can get away with being outwardly evil in public. Since he pitched the game as evil pretending to be good, for their own ends of course.
