"Sir, if you will just listen-" the prim young woman pointed out, frustratingly confounded by her bosses reaction.
"LISTEN?!?" he yelled in her face and quite interrupting her "You... You liquidated ALL my ASSETS. EVERYTHING!"
"Yes sir, you chose to do legal battle with a strong benefactor to the Asmodean church. An endeavor I fully supported you on... while you were winning that is." fishing out a linen hanky from the jacket pocket, she dabbed up the spittle he had spewed on her.
"There are still MOTIONS to file-"
"No sir!" her turn to interrupt sharply "You have lost! They are coming for you as we speak!"
That brought him up short "They...?" he matted his brow, turning away, thinking quickly. "Okay, okay, thank you Adenlia, you are right, I'll take the money and make a run for it."
"Sir? The money isn't for you. They WILL catch you, and shortly kill you once they realize you know nothing about these Silver Ravens you prattle on about."
"What? I... then why?" his stricken eyes turned back imploring his assistant for answers.
"For me sir. Of course. I'm about to lose My JOB."

In the end Adelina did not get to keep the money, she had to turn it over to the authorities with a smile, for the right to keep on living. Truthfully one of the deputes declared it a LIFE tax of all things.
The government annoyed her to no end. The problem with a corrupt system is that you cannot take advantage of it unless you are already in it. She was not, so instead she was just another sheep to be fleeced. She wondered though... what if she could help brought it all down. If she was instrumental in its undoing, whatever bureaucratic mess that would arise, she would already be IN.

Adelina is a well dressed moderately attractive young woman who has been working toward a legal career in the old-fashioned method of starting at the bottom. As a secretary. Not by choice, just of low birth and No money. Too bad she picked a bleeding heart as her employer.

Why would you want a secretary to help run a rebellion? Well she is organized, not bad to look at, dresses in a way to ups the atmosphere, and she will at least listen to your ideas, even if in the end she does what is really needed, though she'll never get credit anyway... Adenlia also has skills other secretaries lack. While she looks completely nonthreatening, she has knives hidden in as many places that sense allows and knows where to stick them at the proper times. She can pick a pocket and a lock nearly as fast as she can forge a document. And then there is the sex. As in there WON'T BE ANY. She's your secretary, not your personal slut. And if you try that again you will be singing in a higher octave.
