If Tosho doesn't post soon I'm just going to assume he's not going to show up and continue the game you five.

Makes sense. He had seemed eager in the recruitment so I assume he's just missed the fact he was chosen. Or real life got him.

I'll resolve your actions as they come and I'll let you know when to stop.

Khor? Are you here?

When I said roll initiative I mean roll initiative, don't do anything else yet.

I would do it myself but I don't have time to set it up right now. I can do it later when I get the chance I just can't do it right now.

Alright it took a bit of time but I got some new things in images for you, including portraits for you guys to use for tactical maping. Put yourself somewhere in the red box if you please. The entire map is where the riots taking place but inside the red box would be a nice place for you guys to be.

One of the more annoying things about Google slides that you have to set your settings for everything individually every time. You should be able to move things now.

RETIRED - Queen Consort of Cheliax

Hey Everyone, I'm away for the next twelve days in Florida - going to Disney World for the first time!

I won't be able to check my games while I'm away so I'm on pause until the 10th (or possibly the 11th if I'm too jet-lagged!).

Please feel free to bot me as the situation requires! :)

Have fun!

Imperia have fun and thanks for such perfect timing because I'll be able to easily remove you from the scene.

Adelina in your defense you were hit by a critical. That said, if you die from your first hit, on the first encounter, I'm going to laugh my ass off.

It happens.

It's about to get worse.

Are we supposed to be making stabilization checks?

Normally yes but the chance of just outright killing you at the first combat of the campaign just seems needlessly cruel.

Female half-elf unchained rogue 2. HP 16. AC 15, Touch12, FF13. F +1. R +6. W +1, Init +3. Per +9

:) Awww

It would be the quickest I've ever died in a game.
Let's see what would happen if you wanted us too though...

con dc10: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 1 - 4 = 8 -5 hit points now
con dc10: 1d20 + 1 - 5 ⇒ (2) + 1 - 5 = -2 oh this is not looking good -6 now
con dc10: 1d20 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (17) + 1 - 6 = 12 there we go. Adelina lives!

I've had more than my fair share of characters die.

Adelina and Pavo are captured.

Well I hope everyone enjoyed their mandatory two week break.

Roll call, who's still here?

Still there

So anybody have any thoughts on Return of the Runelords?

For those of you who don't know, Paizo—who are working on transitioning to the second edition of Pathfinder and finishing up at the War for the Crown Adventure Path—are moving on to their final two adventure paths that will function using the first edition Pathfinder rules. The first up of these two is Return of the Runelords, the third installment of the runelords trilogy consisting of Rise of the Runelords and Shattered Star. It is also the first Adventure Path that is going to reach level 20 without using Mythic.

The player's guide. for Return of the Runelords came out today and after skimming it over it's very clear that they expect that you have played Rise of the Runelords and Shattered Star. Even if you run this Adventure Path without playing the aforementioned two adventure it says that those two adventures have happened at this point. This is the first time Paizo has ever put out an adventure path that canonically takes place after another adventure path. (The Hell’s series take place simultaneously, And Shattered Star gives GM's several outs to not run Rise of the Runelords.)

The information on the second adventure came from the Pathfinder wiki so I’m not going to say anything about that.

Female half-elf unchained rogue 2. HP 16. AC 15, Touch12, FF13. F +1. R +6. W +1, Init +3. Per +9

If your party had characters in the other paths they can be part of the story, not as PCs but NPCs or historical lore? Interesting, if you've been through them all. Unfortunately I have not. Still a neat idea.

Have you made it through them both?

No and that's exactly my problem with it. The reason I stick to play by post boards is because they're the only games I can trust now. I don't have a face-to-face group anymore and if you spend any length of time on virtual table tops you'll know why long-term virtual tabletop campaigns and never work out.

Just look at this game alone for example, we've already lost one player before the game even started and we may have lost two more since I haven't heard anything from them since the two week blackout.

Even if I could find a group that would make it through both the campaigns that could still take months, even a year or two, each!

RETIRED - Queen Consort of Cheliax

I like the fact that the stories are linked, and despite never playing Shattered Star or completing Rise I think it's a good idea. Frankly you don't need the previous AP's, just write them into the background. As far as I've seen (since I'm playing in it I'm not doing all the reading ) the only thing that seems to be effected is one trait.

So we might have lost Pavo and Johnny? I know Pavo's player is around, but he's been busy so that might be it.

Playing Rise of the Runelords and Shattered Star here on Paizo forum, still on the first(RR) and second (SS) book

Female half-elf unchained rogue 2. HP 16. AC 15, Touch12, FF13. F +1. R +6. W +1, Init +3. Per +9

How do you like Shattered Star, Khor? That one I've never had an opportunity to play.

The Runelords game on the forums I've been on has been going for... 3 years now, and we are only in the second book. We've had pauses, tangents, lost people, gained people, lost them again... as you said, the joys of long-term virtual tabletop campaigns.

RETIRED - Queen Consort of Cheliax

I'm curious too - SS is one of the ones I always heard was average at best, but now it matters to ReotRL I might have to try and find a game (or the books!)

Male Half Orc Warpriest 1 HP 11/11 AC 17 T 11 FF 17 Fort +4 Ref +0 Will +4 Per +2 Spd 30

I joined a game that started a few months before, so there were already some group dynamics. But we have a great GM, I knew some of the players (with some other characters), so I fit in easily.

The adventure is more dungeon-crawling than usual, but I like that.

I've never played in a major dungeon crawls like Shattered Star myself so I can't say whether it's good or bad. From what I've read the general consensus is it's okay.

Khor I'm sorry if it boring for you right now. I’m not doing anything with you because I haven a area where I can get you all back together but I need to get the rest of the group out of the holding house first.

Speaking of which is there anything the rest of you want to try and do to get out of the holding house? Does Imperia want to try to do anything with the remaining guard in the front room? Do either Adelina or Pavo went to try and play dead. Are Johnny and Pavo still even here or should I just remove them?

Female half-elf unchained rogue 2. HP 16. AC 15, Touch12, FF13. F +1. R +6. W +1, Init +3. Per +9

Play dead, yes, well play innocent, not knowing why the door was not locked. She has Innocent as a spell like ability, once a day, that maybe might make her horrible rolling work for once.

Were their any other candidates you were considering when you picked the group?

Male Half Orc Warpriest 1 HP 11/11 AC 17 T 11 FF 17 Fort +4 Ref +0 Will +4 Per +2 Spd 30

I'm just waiting. No problem so far.

RETIRED - Queen Consort of Cheliax

I'm trying to do this more-or-less legitimately, so no Imperia will simply wait, tapping her foot and looking impatient!

I can't help but wonder if Pavo's gone because of that low roles distraction thing that happened earlier. I did mean it mostly as a gag but I can understand how some players don't like having their characters hijacked in any capacity. I guess Johnny could have left because he got bored.

Yay Johnny still here! And I'll be able to move us along later today. Yay!

Okay I got in contact with Pavo and he's out. He said he wasn't having fun and there was nothing for him to do and he was right. That opening went disastrously wrong for him and Adelina and we haven't gotten to the criminal shadow war yet and that's what I originally promised.

RETIRED - Queen Consort of Cheliax

tbh I'm a little worried about this bit... Simply because I know what Rexus is like, so unless he has a drastically different perspective on things (which makes him dangerous) then he's going to be difficult as much as anything else.

Not trying to put a spoke in the works or anything GM - I love the idea of the game and the criminal shadow war should be awesome, I'm just not sure how we get there exactly...

I'm running this IRL so this is all pretty fresh in my mind - I had enough trouble with a mostly CG group, so how we subvert it is going to be difficult unless everyone simply swears their loyalty to Imperia (which I have no problem with... ;))

BTW: I've thought a lot about this GM, so just to give you the heads up, I think Imperia's plan for this is going to be to subvert the Red Jills and use them and the Ravens to run a gang war in the streets with Imperia/the other PC's running both sides. That way we can discredit Thrune with the Ravens, discredit the Ravens for being total anarchists in the process and provide the Jills as the only real source of law and order - from there Imperia we takes over the city!

Like I said, thought about this too much! :)

I ran into that exact problem with Rexus. This game was originally going to be about corrupting the Silver Ravens from within. The problem is is that doing that would eventually lead to a dividing the Silver Ravens and a loss of power. It be essentially shooting ourselves in the foot. Plus I don't like the shifting alignment mechanics in Pathfinder it's the reason I'm not running a campaign like this for Jade Regent or War of the Crown. (It's also why I hate the spell Infernal Healing but that's another issue.)

So the question became "how do I start an evil organization?" and the answer I came up with required helping Rexus and starting up the Silver Ravens.

The Silver Ravens also help me deal with a party that is predominantly evil, specifically chaotic evil. Chaotic evil parties try to murder and backstab each other unless there is a powerful force hanging over their head. Barzillai wouldn't work because he's too powerful and has more important things to worry about, but the Silver Ravens would be different, they'd be an upstart group that would have to deal with problems as they came. If a chaotic evil party ran wild the Silver Ravens would be there to remind them of the bigger picture.

Do you remember in the recruitment thread when someone asked about anarchists characters and my response to him was so well written and detailed? The reason it's so much better than anything else you read from me is because everything else you read for me took only a few minutes to write. Responding to that question took over an hour of agonized over it, trying to figure out how to respond.

As for your plan... will let me explain to you what gave me the idea for Hell's Vile Rebels. Back when I was a player in Hell's Rebels (virtual tabletop, so of course it broke down) when me and my party ended up fighting Nox our sorcerer cast charming person on her. The spell was cast from a wand and if you look at Nox's stats you'll see that it's almost impossible for a wand of charm person to work on her, the key word being almost, Nox was charmed and after helping us with the rest of the area was captured. Our GM allowed us to try and convince her to join the Silver Raven, Which we eventually did.

I'm sorry, but I want to ask: why is the game so slow?

Me being really slow mainly, and bad luck, but mainly me.

Hey I am all for evil but I want fair share on items and loot along the way. Why would anyone stay otherwise? We have to deal with each other as friends or really not at all.

RETIRED - Queen Consort of Cheliax

They're bracers of armor +1 (ooc Knowledge) and would be very good for Imperia. If you want them then she'll offer once she knows what they actually are.

If you take them that makes you her armor though! :P

Female half-elf unchained rogue 2. HP 16. AC 15, Touch12, FF13. F +1. R +6. W +1, Init +3. Per +9

100% agree. Our people are evil but hopefully we are not. We can place forth any items people want and discuss here to maintain the illusion of selfish evil not shary type people in the main thread. If there is any dispute we can sell it or hold off until another similar item shows up. Sound reasonable?

On that note, anyone want the dagger instead of Adelina?

Every item I specifically list has a value even if I don't know what it is. For example, I don't know what the value of that silver dagger is. I know it's a masterwork silver dagger, So it's value is whatever that is.

I also don't mention the specific monetary value for items that are given one or just tell you what the magic items you get are. The signet ring is worth seventy-five gold and the bracers are bracers of armor plus one. Those pendants I mentioned that the thugs had earlier we're also worth thirty gold.

My reason for this is simple unlike in an at the table game we have plenty of time to roll appraisal and spellcraft checks to figure things out.

Of course I do plan to give you more stuff, not just because one of you lost most of their possessions when they got taken prisoner and didn't get them back—and yes you could have gotten them back—but because you're also going to need evil equipment... for evil things.

RETIRED - Queen Consort of Cheliax

I'm fine with sharing loot properly. It's best for all of us anyway to make sure everyone gets the best gear. Beavers are actually high on Imperias list of hear so if like to hold onto them but if Johnnie needs them more then that's fine too.
