Are any of the fruit vendors known pro-Thrune a-holes? It would be a shame if a bomb went off that looks like a CCG member was actually trying to kill the Lord Mayor.

DM Hell's Fox |

Given the information Bazzle is aware of, Bazzle doesn't know of any other vigilantes that are fighting Thrune. Maybe there's a hidden sect of Milanites somewhere, but otherwise he has no idea. He is certain that a CCG member would not go against Thrune, given that they often wear the symbol of House Thrune on their person (typically a red armband with the symbol). Bazzle has no idea what the political views the fruit vendors have. They're just selling fruit, and will probably continue to sell fruit regardless of who's in power, so long as they are allowed to sell fruit.

DM Hell's Fox |

No Thrune symbols on the vendors.

Aster Cobblestone |

sadly I doubt we could succeed.

DM Hell's Fox |

Great thought, Rexandi. I'll move us along tomorrow if nothing else happens, but you're free to do whatever you'd like.

Aster Cobblestone |

"Maybe it's a date?" Aster says that horror without thinking "I'm sorry." she very quickly apologizes to her friend.

DM Hell's Fox |

The party drops off Faeblin at his home, not far from the ruins of the Silver Star. He bids them farewell, but gives Bazzle a great big hug. "Be careful, Blast." And he points to the ruins. "I'm proud of you. Just be careful. I'll write to your da."
The group have a few hours they can kill before having to make their way back to the Wasp Nest to meet with the Skritt Squad.

Bazzle Blast-hazard |

Bazzle takes the hug with a triple pat on the back. He whispers, "Word on the street is that the Silver Ravens have returned. Stay stron."
He looks at his uncle, "If you feel the heat or you need a place to stay safe. You can look for the Downright Dubious Dandies, or the at the Longroad Coffeehouse, ask Laria what her intentions are with your nephew."

DM Hell's Fox |

Faelin breathes deeply and nods firmly his understanding. He looks to each member of the party with this improved knowledge, and whispers "The Silver Ravens have returned."

Aster Cobblestone |

Aster smiles at the old man, and then later when they are walking back home, she bumps her diminutive friend with her well-padded hip and tells him "You have a good uncle."

DM Hell's Fox |

When the group makes their way back to the Wasp Nest, they realize they're about to walk onto Bleakbridge. No less than a dozen Dottari armed with muskets patrol the bridge, and a Hellknight mounted on an infernal horse with a blazing mane of fire patrols, armed with a barbed whip.

Bazzle looks close to teary. "Not as far gone as I thought."

"Um . . . let's take the long road."

DM Hell's Fox |

Would anyone like to inform dear Bazzle that there is no long road?

Aster Cobblestone |

Can't we use the sewers?

DM Hell's Fox |

Can't we use the sewers?
The sewers do lead to the bottom of the bridge on both sides, but the sewers do not connect to one another.

Aster Cobblestone |

So the only way back the coffee house is across that bridge? Probably better just to find a place to bunk on our side than to deal with whatever that group is wanting to find.

DM Hell's Fox |

I was thinking sewers. Can we get to the sewers go under the bridge and into the sewers on the other side.
Yes, if you can find a way to cross the Yolubilis River, which runs under the Bleakbridge.

Rexandi Vatia |

I was thinking sewers. Can we get to the sewers go under the bridge and into the sewers on the other side.
DM just said above that the two sides of the sewers aren't connected on opposite ends of the bridge.
"So how to we get across?" she whispers to her companions. "They're not just gonna let us walk across. Do we even have somewhere to stay the night on this side? This problem is gonna keep getting worse, we need... some kind of illusion magic or something if we're gonna keep having to use the bridge. Or else a different way across the river."

Right get into the sewer on our side of the bridge. Exit the sewers into the river. Swim under the bridge and into the sewer tunnel on the other side of the bridge.

DM Hell's Fox |

If you guys want to do that, I'm A-ok with it. I'm guessing the river is 435 feet across, and there's a stone support about every 50 feet. Since you're swimming perpendicular to the current, I'd put it at a DC15.

DM Hell's Fox |

This might not solve your problem, but it's an idea that your characters might know, that you do not.
A local gang of Tengu known as the River Talons used to prey upon the shops across Bleakbridge before Thrune took power. They "hunted" during daylight hours, as that was when the shops were open. No number of guards were able to stop them, but Thrune's rise to power seems to have either eliminated the gang or forced them underground.

Bazzle Blast-hazard |

"Our earlier shenanigans on the bridge are likely remembered. Swimming and poop wading if we can avoid the risk and the stench seems really great. We can deal with the bridge on an other day and perhaps with different spells."

Aster Cobblestone |

"I agree. Sewers then? To under the bridge, then with Rexi's useful magic to allow walking under the water to get to the other side."

Bazzle Blast-hazard |

Bazzle laughs, "I meant lets to go the Lucky Bones and avoid the danger of swimming the river or crossing the bridge. Also the sewers stink. But that's just a suggestion. We've sailed the poop river before."

what side of the river is Aster's home sweet home.

DM Hell's Fox |

what side of the river is Aster's home sweet home.
Aster lives in Old Kintargo, which is the same district as the Lucky Bones. You're currently on the correct side of the river. There's a link to a map of Kintargo if you'd like a map of the districts.

Aster Cobblestone |

"We'll miss the meeting but we can be caught up in the morning." Aster offers to Rexi "You are welcome to stay at our place tonight if you don't wish to try sleeping at the Bones. Becky had a delightful time at your last visit, so I don't think she'll mind the loss of me only time." she apologizes to the others, saying rumors of too many armed people combined with Men on top of that would be too risky.

DM Hell's Fox |

No further encounters hinder the party's way as they turn back and walk into Old Kintargo. The drop Aster and Rexandi off at the Iudeimus Tenement, then only a few minutes away sneak into the Lucky Bones. Present are Nisha, Newt, and the Salties. Nisha and the Salties have been spending considerable time cleaning up the Lucky Bones and getting it ready for being a full-time base. Newt, meanwhile, is working on the neverending list of alchemical items to be made. Currently, he's crafting antiplague.
Nisha the scarlet tiefling is wearing a headband soaked with sweat as she's been scrubbing floors for most of the day. "We're just about ready." Nisha explains as she drinks some purified water out of a thick glass flask. "The pit-trap still needs cleaning, but Newt figured out how it works. Nasty stuff. Can't believe you had to fight your way through here. I gave the Salties some Ant Haul infusions, which made hauling the bodies easier. They've been dumped down the well for the moment, but we'll push em into the sea soon enough."
"I don't mind working with the Salties, but I miss Rexus. Rexus is a man that I always felt safe around. If people were getting too... weird, then Rexus always handled it."
Newt's been busy at his workstation, which is filled with beakers, flasks, and all sorts of strange equipment. "Antiplague is one of the more difficult things to craft, and a general antitoxin isn't easy either. After that, things will pick up here a bit faster. Are you sure you need 30 teabags of Night Tea? I can do it, sure, but do you really need it?"
"It's fine, I like working on my own, but I know the market is gonna suffer big time without me. I was the longest living Newt that market's ever seen, and the most profitable too. Now I'm just some Gnome who makes alchemy stuff. Feels backwards."
Forvian Crowe is a good friend of Laria's. He's a tall, strong man, though a bit rough around the edges. "Hey. Maybe Nisha's already said, but we moved the bodies down the well and into the 2nd level. We'll push them out to sea soon. I ain't got anyone who can fix that clockwork pump, so the lower level's gonna stay flooded for awhile yet. I got a question for you. There's a bunch of rats hiding around the Bones, and I'm not sure what to do about it. Newt can make some rat poison and some traps, and Nisha is deadset on a cat. What do you think?"

Wealday, the 27th of Sarenith, 4715AR
Cloudy with no chance of meatballs.
Vandomir and Bazzle start their day in the Lucky Bones. They each had their own bedroom, though the bed frames are old and rickety. Breakfast at the Lucky Bones is only the essentials; some nuts and berries preserved in honey, and a flask worth of purified water. Nisha explains that while there is a fire pit in the base, the smoke would be visible on the surface. She would like to find some way to cook without burning fuel, but for now she's got more important things to do. Armed with rags, acid, and chainmail gloves, Nisha sets to work cleaning. Her target for today: The spiked pit trap. Nisha will have the Salties hold onto a rope while she rappels down to scrub everything of rust and decay. Her prehensile tail comes in handy for this task.
Early in the morning before curfew lifts, Aster and Rexandi hear a knocking on their door. On the other side is a silver raven, perched on the door handle and pecking into the wood. A message has been tied to its leg.
Hello Aster and the rest, I'm checking in on y'all to make sure you're alright. You no-showed me last night after you said you were looking for the Hound. Anyways, the Skritt reported. Huge success. Worrying stuff though. Y'all best get back here. I can send another raven with the details, but there's lots.
Oh and Rexi dear, your team is ready for work. Just give em the word and I'll use the funds here.
I'm out t'ill noonish, but someone else can catch y'all up.

Bazzle Blast-hazard |

"We should send a message back."
"Had an altercation on the Bleakbridge. Heat was on. We didn't risk a second crossing. We are safe. We will see you later today."
"Anybody have anything to add."

Aster Cobblestone |

Aster gets Becky bundled with all her school gear and off to the nanny, giving her a big hug, an extra snuggle, and a snack of honey cakes. Because everyone needs honeycakes.
"Ready?" she checks on Rexi, though Aster is the one that needed extra time.
--
Then at the lucky bones, she relays the message to the others and agrees with Bazzle's message back. "We can check on the bridge, and if it is still bottled, we can try the sewers."

DM Hell's Fox |

The group gets together and, after sending off their message, quickly set off for Bleakbridge. The bridge itself is guarded by a troop of Dottari, though they are not the musket troop. A small group of Hellknight Armigers, easily identified by the infernal signs on their breastplate and helmets, are crossing the bridge into the Yolubilis district. No proper Hellknights are present.

DM Hell's Fox |

For clarification, Armigers are Hellknight members that have not become proper Hellknights. You could think of them more like squires. Hellsquires.

Rexandi Vatia |

"We'll miss the meeting but we can be caught up in the morning." Aster offers to Rexi "You are welcome to stay at our place tonight if you don't wish to try sleeping at the Bones. Becky had a delightful time at your last visit, so I don't think she'll mind the loss of me only time." she apologizes to the others, saying rumors of too many armed people combined with Men on top of that would be too risky.
"Thanks Aster. I appreciate it."
Rexandi has a good time winding down in relative safety, and using her illusion spells to make entertaining shows for Becky.
The next morning she says to Aster, "I need to keep my promise to Hetamon at some point. If we wind up with a day off I want to go down to one of the poorer districts and see if I can help people who're sick or injured for a bit."
She keeps her head down as the team approaches Bleakbridge. Why draw attention, even if it's just armigers?

Aster Cobblestone |

"A day off..." Aster sighs at the prospect, almost like she cannot imagine it. A soft smile follows with an agreement to help out as best she can if a day like that does exist.
At the bridge, Aster looks at the guards.
