Full attack on Baldy. Rage on!
"GAAAAAAAH!"
RH kukri 1: 6 + 18 = 24, damage = 9
RH kukri 2: 5 + 13 = 18 = unlikely against a man wearing plate.
LH kukri 1: 15 + 18 = 33 = threat, confirm = 6 + 16 = 24, damage = 11 or 16 if crit is confirmed (including 5 cold in both instances)
LH kukri 2: 16 + 13 = 29 = threat, confirm = 14 + 13 = 27, damage = 7 or 11 if crit is confirmed (including 1 cold in both instances)

Oso moves up fifteen feet to the entrance into the courtyard and points a full hand at the wizard on the stairs.
"Noctis ar Oculis!"
Blindness spell DC16 Fort save please.
"I can't see!!! I can't see!!! I had my eyes closed,...."
he turns away from the eyeboiling ray...dungeonmaster heathy |
Ogay.....Xever is invisible now;
if anybody can see invis, I'll tell you where he is.
Gittik:
The buscemi at c3 moves to a5; attacks pip; who takes 4 h.p. from a rapier, and Gittik can aoo his ass.
The bald guy with the spiked chain smites Gittik once, connecting once,
for 17h.p. in damage. He smacks his buddy too in e3; that guy takes 15.
He smacks the guy back; 7 h.p. in damage.
The guy in c4 babbles incoherently.
A guy hops down from the ceiling in front of Beldan; at c8; stabbing him with a rapier for 6 h.p. damage. It might've been a vital blow but for Beldan's uncanny ability to sense danger. (i.e. no point in rolling a perception/stealth since it wouldn't work on Beldan anyway).
The bald guy:
"Hey! STIINKII! Leave my hobniz buddy alone! Attack this other hobniz next time!!!"
GROUP'S ATTACK!!! ROUND 3!!!
dungeonmaster heathy |
You slap a crit on that cat; he's pretty messed up as he went over to wup on Pip; he's pretty much bloody butthurt.
You can smell that fool; he smells like incense and peppermint candy and cheap perfume over stinky armpits, and he's at c1.
(lol--I love the disconnect when the dungeonmaster is as befuddled by new ablilities as the npc....no threat of subconscious self metagaming that way).
dungeonmaster heathy |
Oso twists his hand and cuts across then closes his fist tight. "Aurus est Silencio."
Silence cast centred on f/g 2/3.
He then draws his sword in preparation for battle.
It's silenced up, right there; a burst of blue light and runes, then quietude.
Gittik |
Carry on hitting Baldy:
RH kukri 1: 18 + 10 = 28, damage = 11
RH kukri 2: 13 + 7 = 20, damage (unlikely) = 9
LH kukri 1: 6 + 18 = 24, damage = 11, including 6 electricity
LH kukri 2: 15 + 13 = 28 = threat, damage = 7 or 12 on a crit, including 2 electricity
More I can smell invisible - I've still got the miss chance. Any attacks that are left over if Baldy drops part-way through that, I'll channel into Buscesmi. (I presume your "useless" comment is more a reflection of your views of the "{xxx class} got totally shafted"-type threads.)

Hmmm... The PF summoning list is completely different from the 3.5 one. Also, it doesn't seem like I can summon more lower level monsters with a higher level spell anymore (I was going to summon a gaggle of giant wasps). However, I can still do this:
The flagstones in the courtyard bend and buckle before erupting upwards in a cascade of earth and stone. After a few seconds, the cloud of dust and stone stabilises into a 18' tall massive rock-like humanoid covered in rime and ice. With a near-subsonic rumble, it reaches out for the nearest milkhead.
Burning Cloudkill to cast Summon monster V, conjuring up a Large frozen earth elenental. It occupies DE 5-6 and attacks the speed freak in C8. Attack 1:11+14+1(earth mastery)+2(bard)=AC 28, damage 13+9+1(earth mastery)+2(bard)+5 cold (Beckon the frozen feat)=28. Attack 2:12+14+1(earth mastery)+2(bard)=AC 29, damage 9+9+1(earth mastery)+2(bard)+5 cold (Beckon the frozen feat)=26.

Sorry, again, missed the post that said it was a new round! Altai, you CAN still use a Summon MOnster spell to summona gaggle of lower lvl critters, its plainly on the d20PFsrd, both of them,...
Seeing his primary choice,... is no longer see-able, ELgan chirps grumpily and directs his stormcloud. It obligingly spits out another bolt onto another Buscemi,...
Altai Iscarni |
Huh. It didn't say so on the Paizo PF site. Dunno what happened there. Still, I'm happy with my cold-infused earth elemental, so no harm done.
Aubrey - the big lug is a bog-standard Large earth elemental souped up with the Augment Summoning and Beckon The Frozen feats.

Elgan's lightning bolt kills the one in e3.....
There's one left at c4, the bald guy fighting Gittik at d3, there's one at a5 attacking hapless Pip, and the invisible Xever whom Gittik has smelled.
Pip's attack! Beldan's holding...

I'm looking at the rulebook; you CAN summon hordes of lesser pogue creatures like in the good old days.

Bog standard? just a simple every day walking pile of earth that can fight and its infused with the magic of strength and endurance and the power of the north wind.
Magic is so passe at ninth level.

Sheeesh! suck day.
Ogay.
Buscemi in c4 moves to d4, flanks with Gittik, and kills the bald Keitel with a thrust through the heart of his rapier.
the Buscemi in a5 stabs Pip twice, hitting once, and doing 7 h.p. to the diminutive minstrel.
A burst of fire washes over most of the courtyard.
Reflex save for Pip, Beldan, Gittik, Oso; or take 47 h.p. in damage; half if you save; reflex d.c. 18.
If you miss the reflex save, you're -2 to hit and skill use until your next turn; blistering spell.
The elemental needs to save too; also it will take 150% damage whether it saves or not.
Xever appears at a1; looking distraught, starts blubbering, because now after his fireball, ALL of the guys from the courtyard....the Buscemis....the Keitel....are down, and the party's still (I reckon) up.
Your move....
Altai Iscarni |
I blew the elemental's save (rolled a 2). So, it goes down from 84 to 13 hp. Ugly, but it's not dead yet... Good thing elementals are immune to massive damage effects.
Hissing gouts of steam rises towards the sky and rivulets of icewater trickles off the elemental as Xever's blast of fire washes over it. Groaning in rage, it lunges at the suddenly visible arcanist, tossing the table clear out of the courtyard and scattering the corpses of the ratty thugs like bowling pins.
The elemental moves to AB 2-3 and grabs Xever. Touch attack 11+14+1(earth mastery)+2(bard)=AC 28, grapple check 12+17+2(bard)=31. Xever receivs 3 points of cold damage as the elemental seizes him.
"Ouch." Altai winces as the fireball goes off. "Man, is he angry! Now, Xever, can you give me any reason to stop him from simply absorbing you and dragging your carcass back to the Elemental Plane of Earth?"
dungeonmaster heathy |
Xever's cloak spits and pops like fireworks as the thing manhandles him; the elemental is overwhelmed and dies from 15 h.p. in damage....
Xever starts squirming; squealing,.....giggling nervously...
"Look, man,...I don't know who sent you guys, but I'd pay them off by now except Hamfist has me as a slave here. Please! Please! Can we work something out?"
Oso Legumbe |
Gittik doesn't take the first twenty points due to resist energy and Oso rolled a 14+5=19 taking 23pts.
Oso calls on Kelanen to help his friends and he moves into a central position first to make sure that they all receive his healing.
Channel energy 4d6=11pts of goodness.
Altai Iscarni |
Bastard! My beautiful elemental!
"The Church of Kord says hello. Now, where's Dagbarr's heart? We would be most..." Altai loses his calm demeanor as the elemental collapses into a pile of soggy gravel. "You thrice-damned hag-spawned cockroach! I'll have your head for that!" His hands whip through a series of arcane gestures.
Casting Dispel magic on Xever. Dispel checks: 13+9=22, 11+9=20, 6+9=15, 12+9=21, 9+9=18. Let me know if more checks are needed.
Oso: As Xever's in A1, he's outside the zone of silence.
