Alright, I think I’ll pick up some Gloves of Dex +2, a Necklace of Adaptation, a Cloak of Elvenkind and a Ring of Swimming, Improved, assuming there’s no problems with sourcing any of that in Seaton.
That leaves me with approx 1500gp, some or most of which I can put towards party expenses, hiring folk, lizardman weapons or whatever.

Ha! Good thing this is GL and not RL! The ladies don't like it when you get the names confused! (And Nicholai is SO telling Pharris on you!) :D

I've been feeling like crap every night. I think I have a new allergy. YAYZ.
I will prolly bild some npc's tonite and tomorrow nite, and get rolling some time.
Just a question or two:
do you guys wanna talk to the Saltmarsh council?
Who's going?
I'll have it all together some time...

dungeonmaster heathy |

Right on...
they take a brief report of the previous few days/weeks' adventures, then call an emergency session that evening.
They share with you this: this "Viper's Den" is a recently created pirate hideout, and though they have primarily been predating Scarlet Brotherhood shipping in and out of the Sea Princes,.....none are safe.
There seems to be a flotilla varying from 5 to as many as 15 ships, and the leader of the whole gaggle is somebody named "Sencho." Little is known of Sencho; he is a barbarian from the frozen north. No; he is a Paynim fire warlock that belches napalm. No, he is a dragon/demon/slaad/mindflayer/you name it masquerading as a human/ogre/halfogre/heretofore unknown race of wicked titans who created all of the Olman pyramids....you get the picture.
Recruiting on your part has managed to swell the ranks of lizardmen to a grand army of 110. A few of the councilmen seem leery of arming a bunch of swamp lizards, but it goes forth; the town will arm them all.
They also offer another 2 ships to carry them all in, will try to drum up some human regulars, AND send political envoys to meet with the lizardman tribe.
The lizardmen know of some landfall on the coast near the island where temporary firebase can be set up.
How do you want to play it?
"Maybe a forward scouting mission might be in order....do you think your motley rabble could pose as a gang of surly privateers?"

Altai Iscarni |

Once it's clear that the town will arm and equip the lizardmen, I don't really have any further questions. At some point, Altai will try to discreetly ask the sheriff if anyone's seen the last Anderhoff brother since we've been gone.
Altai puts in as many good words for the lizardman tribe as he can get away with, mentioning the chief's magical new leg and how the locatah alliance may work out once it's clear the lizardmen have some outside backing. "I like the idea of posing as disaffected pirate material. We may need to repaint the ship, though. Might want to lose the artwork up front, too."

Elgan Dreadwood |

Elgan will go to the meeting, mainly to make sure that the Lizardmen get a fair shake.
"Dey ain't no differ'n den yew. Dey jes wants ta hunt, fish an' raise dey fam'lies. Yeh treat'em rite an' dey'll respeck yeh back. An' why not have 'em as neighbors? It ain't likely dat yer town'folk wanta live inna swamp?" That sort of thing.
Other than that, he mainly stands quietly to one side and watches the interaction with interest. He does volunteer information/ advice when it comes to dealing with the lizardmen, or traveling in certain areas/terrain that he is familiar with.

"Nope.....we hung the ones we had; or rather they strungem up in Seaton. Then burned em."

Oso Legumbe |

ditto here.
Oso comes in and half thinks about patting the dog before checking his valuable fingers.
Fetches food and drink and buys a spare meatbone or two for Tensor.
"Here Tensor chew on dem."
"Hey Stiggy I hear lots dat you all did before me and Pip signed on. What has you done in this town?"

Elgan Dreadwood |

Hey, finally did some math, (probably did it WRONG, but hey!)
OK, outright purchasing the following:
CMW wand, 4,500
Pearl of Power 1st lvl 1,000
Amulet of Nat Armor +2,000
IF i'm right (And I confess I may have messed it up, given my propensity for being extremely UNmathmatical, and the confusing arguments about how expensive it is to create your own magic items,) And IF Altai can do the work to cut the GP cost in half, by selling my armor of Beastskin, I should be able to afford to not only make my Green dragonhide into Beastskin, but improve it to a +2 as well. So I will end up with Grren Dragonhide Breastplate Armor of Beastskin +2. By MNY math I had a little left over. So let's just say that I was off, and it takes all my loose change. (I still had 1,500 GP left over from teh last time we went shopping!) What is my druid gonna do with extra GP anyhow?!?
;P
I will put off buying that lovely ring of improving your summoning spells until next time. ;)

Beldan mimes lifting a flagon to his lips (which is odd, considering he’s sitting in The Lizard and has an actual flagon of ale on the table in front of him). “He means he was blotto,” explains the young thief.
“You are probably best off asking Altai,” he continues, “I think he’s been keeping notes. It’s all been a bit of a blur to me, honestly. Though one thing Altai probably won’t go into proper detail on is the women – you know, wizards, I heard they take a vow of celibacy, since the carnal acts release all that stored up, um, magical energy. Anyway, the women …”
Here Beldan launches into a somewhat long and improbable tale featuring exotic raven-haired beauties, green skinned samurai-pirate lasses, sexy librarians, gilled elf maidens and hot bondage princesses, all of whom carried barely concealed desire for the rogue, (Oso probably finds the story really starts to stretch credibility here, given Beldan’s somewhat weedy frame, slightly over-long nose, wispy moustache, and hardly above average charm) that he was forced to gently stave off due to his feelings for dear Pharsia.

The preparations go pretty good.
A muster of 120 lizardmen and 100 men of Keoland will set out with the party in two extra ships;
(I guess) they will set up a temporary firebase at the delta of a river 15 miles from the site of the volcano, on the coast of the continent, near the Amedio Jungle. There they will await the party's scouting mission.
It'll take 10 day's sailing to get there; they'll sail apart from the party's Sea Ghost, so as not to disrupt the facade of the Sea Ghost being a vessel of cutthroat buccaneers.
Any final preparations?
Ready to sail?
Again, there's a navigator, 10 expert sailors, and good ole' Tom.

ROFL

dungeonmaster heathy |

We can roll whenever; I'm pretty much ready; or wait for Pip; or say he's seasick and whenever he pops in he's better.
No hurries to me or nothing though.
Watchmen is cool. I liked it aloh.
I don't think you can make a movie more loyal to the damn book/comic/whatever. If Alan Moore had to yank his name off this one, he's a burnout or whatever; I liked it.

Beldan Vale |

“So,” says Beldan, as the group prepare to depart, “which of us, apart from good ol’ Tom, has any real sailing experience? And, more importantly, who gets to be captain?”
Beldan has spent the day preparing his pirate “disguise”. He’s found himself some old, foreign naval officer’s coat, a tricorn hat, sea-man’s boots, and even an eyepatch.

For Pip:
Mac-Fuirmidh Cithern
2,800 g.p. cost;
grants +2 perform string, and....if you have 4+ ranks in perform, you can do CLW, sleep, and mage armor; total of 3/day any combination of them.
2,000 more g.p. and it's a steel guitar, ready for underwater use.
I'm serious.
(I switched it around a little bit from the Magic Item Compendium).

That's frakin' AWESOME! :D
I'm gonna go ahead and presume that my equipment post earlier was alright? If so the 'Dark Pirate Elgan, Dread Druid of the Deep' Is ready to sail! ARrrrrr!
;)

Altai Iscarni |

Tom:
"I take you're all a gaggle o' loiterers, aye? 'Tis naworry, lie back, relax, and leave th' drivin' to me."
"I know my way around a ship. Read about knots and things in a book once, too."
Altai even has ranks in Profession (sailor)!
Also - are there any spells that'll let me send a message to a designated target?

I thought there was a magic pigeon type spell, but maybe that was palladium.
