[ooc[OK - however, Gittik has a Fly spell active, so can easily get to the aerial monsters.[/ooc]
Huh...yeah; I just added it up with fly and whatnot....he can charge the vampire; either at 5 feet below it or right in front of it, or 5 feet below it, right slap ass under it.
I guess we can wait; see if that's what he wanted to do.

This was a couple of pages back:
New and improved list of ongoing effects:
Gittik: Bull's strength, Fly, Protection from evil, carries the vampire-killing stick (a Silver shortspear +1)
Stig: Enlarge person, Protection from evil
Oso: Enlarge person, Magic circle against evil
Altai: Fly, See invisible
Elgan: Barkskin, Call lightning
Riese: Mage armour
Pip, Beldan: nothin'Also, we have bardic music and divine protection, giving everybody +1 morale bonus to AC, saves, attack rolls and damage.
All the effects are pretty long-term. However, the giant wasp is at round 1 of 7.

Here's my handy dandy vampire-pwning rule.
My thought on staking live vampires in active combat.....
A vampire's heart is a "diminutive" creature. As such, if you can hit a diminutive creature with it's base a.c. i.e.....+4 to it's normal a.c. you hit the heart.
Then, unless the fogger's at zero h.p., you're going to have to do above 10 h.p. in damage to affect him, unless it's silver AND magic.
If you stake him, though, doing damage thusly, he's toast.
ALZO, a stake is possibly a makeshift weapon I'm thinking...
I think this is a decent compromise between "Buffy the Vampire Slayer mows through Vampires like they were 1 lvl. goblin warriors" and "we kill him, he turns to mist, we kill him again ad nauseum."
Maybe that'll work.

Elgan Dreadwood |

Many thx for the map mate! You wasern't the only one whut was cornfuzzled,...
So, still rnd 1 right? I have a tendency to get ahead of myself in PbP, trying to curtail that,...
Elgan -hawk raises both wings straight up as Stiggy swats the first critter into the far wall. His screech sounds surprisingly like 'Goal!' but that's highly improbable,...

actually not charge, since he had to do all that tumbling, but he's got enuff move to make it happen...

Riese |

5d6 6=20 damage- Riese's firebolt to the guy in N16 on the map. DC18 reflex for half.
Sorry, terribly swamped.

dungeonmaster heathy |

The vampire crashes, staked, totally comatose, in lizardman form in J12. The two gargoyle wingmen rush to his side--aoo for Gittik!--to unstake their master. (waiting for Gittik's aoo to tell what happens).
One gargoyle moves to k16 and misses giant Stiggy.
The canoloth bites Oso once for 4 in damage, and the gargoyle next to him misses; the entangling spell keeps him at bay.
Again, waiting for Gittik's aoo, then I'll say what happens, and then it'll be the party's attack...

dungeonmaster heathy |

He pumps you back, to J13; you land in a crouch. Growling or something.
So...the other one lands in I12, and unstakes the vampire, then bites the spear in half. The vampire starts twitching awake; he's still prone, and the bullrusher is in J12 standing above him like a depraved Colossus of Rhodes.
PARTY'S ATTACK.

Elgan Dreadwood |

Seeing Gittik knocked backwards by the two gargoyles, and the lizard-vamp twitch, Elgan-hawk screeches another spell. Im response to his final screeching crescendo, a column of fire appears directly in front of Gittik, almost singing his eyebrows while engulfing the prone vampire-lizard and its gargoyle wingman.
Flame strike: 7d6+1=32 dmg is half fire and half divine
The column is a 10' radius, so I had to center it behind the vamp in order to exclude Gittik.
One wing raised, one wing held to his birdy breast, Elgan warbles another note, and a lightning strike performs the final crash of his brief symphony upon the gargoyle standing over Gittik.

Altai Iscarni |

With a loud, low-pitched hum, the giant wasp glides towards the vampire and his wounded bodyguard. Sensing the gargoyle's weakness, it darts towards the bloodied monster.
The wasp moves to H/I 10-11 before taking a bite out of the gargoyle. Attack roll 12+8+1(bard)=AC 21, damage 2+8+1=11. Again, its attacks are both good and magic. If the gargoyle's still standing, it needs to make a DC 16 Fort save or lose 4 points of DEX.
Altai flies forward before blasting the vampire with searing fire.
Fly to M13 before casting Scorching ray on ol' Baal Sakatha. Since I'm flying over him, being prone won't help his AC. Atack roll 13+6=touch AC 19, damage 17 fire. Sadly, it is off a scroll, so I only get one ray. :(
"Get ooof me, ye doomb bird-man." Stig swats away at the bothersome gargoyle.
Attacking the sucker in K16. Attack 1: Roll 11+13+1(bard)-7(power attack)=AC 18, damage 15+21+1(bard)=37. Attack 2: Roll 14+8+1-7=AC 16, damage 12+21+1=34. He then steps 5' steps to M/N 15-16, wich puts Elgan in M16.

Altai Iscarni |

Stiggy takes out the gargoyle with his first swing; ergo can modify his actions if you wish.
In that case, he gets a Cleave attempt as the same attack bonus as the blow that took down the gargoyle. This goes against the canoloth in O16. Attack roll 14+13+1-7=AC 21, damage 13+21+1=35. The second attack also goes against the canoloth, but I assume AC 16 is a miss? He then steps to the same spot indicated. Man, Enlarge + power attack and cleave = carnage!

dungeonmaster heathy |

yeah; 16's a miss. I was gonna say dex bonus, entangle; but it doesn't have one...
the canoloth's almost dead...
looks like Pip, Oso, Riese, and Gittik are up.
I'll be around for the next 1/2 hour or so, then I'll be gone; it's my birthday and I'll be doing stuff for the next 5-6 or so hours..

Oso Legumbe |

Oso has waited, "By that silver spear and the Prince of Swords you will be ended Baal Sakatha!"
The crown of the grave fires off another command to the undead bat.
Will Save DC20 as Oso burns another turn attempt or..
"Sleep!"
"Go get him Gittik."
