Tamar Moivas |
Tamar chuckles at Koddast's comments, "A copper is not good coin my friend but what would a blind creature know?"
As the man threatens the fey Tamar does not react after all what does he care for the fate of the tiny creature?
As they close on the tent to the monster and the ruckus is raised he simply watches the goings on. What is the benefit in being involved in the lives of such weaklings...
Azalia Lunarra |
I like this RPing multiple scenes at once. Works nice in PBP and lets everyone RP what interests them freely, while the story can keep moving. Will give Koddast a bit more time to weigh in on the main scene...

The Amazing Opo |
Hey Lady. Did you know you don't have no money? I think that big guy took it, I thought he just wanted your hair the way he was pulling on it, but nope he took your stuff too. Talk about greedy. Hey do you think I could have some of your hair? The goblin asks in earnest.
Aleon Hunter |
Do, you have any idea where this person might be in the carnival? If so, I say we head there next. Naming a name, probably won't tell me much, but a description might help, as tall as I am, I can see past crowds
First thing is first though. Alright man, tell me who you work for.
As he stares the dropped man in the face who robbed the women.
Koddast |
Koddast watches the woman being dragged, and turns his arrow on the man, seconds from firing his arrow, he listens as Jan's commanding voice causes the man to drop the woman, and an expression of awe flows across his face for a moment. He holds his bow and arrow in one hand, steps forward, and reaches down to help the woman up, caring very little that he's crossed some invisible barrier supposedly for carnies only. He smiles at Opo as he reaches to help the woman. You okay miss? He asks with real interest. Can I be of any service? He looks at the surprised thug who seems to have no idea why he dropped the woman. Ugly as I am, I know, it takes a very ugly man to drag any woman around like that. He glares at the man, daring him to intervene.

Initiative
Tamar: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Jan: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Amazing Opo: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Koddast: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
aleon: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
monsters: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
After getting over his initial shock the Thug smiles broadly. Ye be steppin' on our fun, mates! He says...
Koddast |
I'm going to assume/hope that since the bow was already drawn and an arrow in hand Koddast can use his move action for the +4 bonus from Bulls Eye shot.
That was the last mistake you'll ever make. Koddast says matter of factly. Opo, you can go ahead and light these wagons on fire and roast those bastards alive inside. Vysla! Bring him down! He commands in a voice that is almost his own growl. The she wolf charges not the combat charge action the thug and snaps a bite at his leg aimed at knocking him over. Simultaneously Koddast draws and looses his arrow at the thug.
Vysla's Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Vysla's Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Vysla's trip attempt: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Koddast's Arrow, BAB, Point Blank, Bull's Eye: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 1 + 4 = 17
Koddast's Arrow: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Fire from Koddast's arrow: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Jan Newleaf |
"Nope! No, no, no, you don't do that now. Don't make me break off a branch and tan your hides for being naughty!"
Jan moves over to one of the wagon windows, spiders swarm out of this leaves and branches and into the wagon.
Holly Halloween |
Thug 2 VS Spider Swarm Poison DC11: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Koddast, a trip attempt is in place of a melee attack in CRB. Let me know if I'm missing a feat or something?
Vysla knocks Thug 1 prone as Koddast's Arrow hits sinks into his chest. Shat! Get this mangy she-wolf off me! This as Jan summons a terrifying swarm of spiders right into one of the wagons! Thug 2 screams as he endures the poisonous bites Ahhhhhh spiders! get them off getthem off gethemoff getthemoff. Tamar winks out of sight.
Round 1
Koddast
Jan
Aleon
Opo
Tamar
Thugs!!!
Koddast |
Holly, for animal companions they go by the universal monster rules, not the character rules. So for Vysla the trip attempt can be made as part of a successful attack. If Vysla's 12 to hit number was successful (which I wasn't sure of because the thug would be flat footed since he didn't act in the initiative yet) she would get a free action attempt to trip. If the 12 to hit was not successful she wouldn't do any damage, nor would she get the free trip attempt. Here's the link for the Trip ability.
Aleon Hunter |
considering I'm large sized, I take up a 10 foot area, so fixed
I move over to the thug that is covered in rain and I swing by earthbreaker. I have reach hit: 5 - 1 + 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 - 1 + 3 + (1) = 8 not sure if other factors, like cover or whatnot are involved, but 5 bab, 3 str, -1 att from large size. My to hit is normally 7 and I'd thought I'd show the breakdown
dmg: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3, 5) + 4 = 13 blunt dmg my 2d6 weapon does 3d6 dmg, because it is made for a large size creature
And Aleon is so frustrated he hits the wagon rolled 1, on his first combat too.
Holly Halloween |
-------------------------------
dmg from VomitSwarm: 1d6 ⇒ 4 forgot to roll this in my last GM Rolls post.
Vysla AoO as Thug 1 tries to stand: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 fail
Thug 3 arrow from the south wagon: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7 miss
spider covered Thug 2 in north wagon, wood axe VS Jan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 fail
Thug1 knife VS Vsyla's throat: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 hit!
--------------------------------
Thug1 works his way to his feet, fighting off Vsyla's vicious teeth. He pulls a long dagger from his belt and attempts to slice the Vsyla's throat. The knife finds purchase cutting a terrible gash dagger damage to Vsyla's throat: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6.
The lady gasps as Aleon Ogre-thunks the wagon...
Holly Halloween |
...tottering it up on two wheels and shattering the weak sidewall. The man inside (Thug 2) struggles to stay on his feet, then pulls a wood axe from his belt and swings wildly at Jan! But the axe barely sinks into Jan's chest, leaving little more than a bark-scratch. The Thug's eyes widen with fear!
Round 2

Tamar Moivas |
Round 2
Still invisible, the wizard begins casting the summoning of a creature from the nether planes to deal with these low life thugs. Despite his desire not to be involved, he grins as the ambush reminds him of home...
Jan Newleaf |
Jan steps back and spends a moment to concentrate on his diminutive co-inhabitants. Under his direction the spider swarm crawls from one wagon to the other - over the intervening party members, although not harming them, exactly.
By the way its 1d6 dmg. plus Poison (Ex) DC 11; frequency 1/round for 2 rounds; effect 1d2 Str; cure 1 save. Did you want me to roll that?
Holly Halloween |
Yes please do roll as much as you can! I'd love to just roll left overs that I can't find among your posts like fort saves, or AoOs i need to keep things moving as fast.
I did roll the Thugy's fort save a few posts back and he made it, just didn't see any damage roll and realized I needed one!
Also, one rules question on swarms: I was under the impression they will mindlessly damage anyone in their path and moves in a strait line as you command, so allies along the path get thumped too. I'm sure there is a feat or something that negates that though! This is pathfinder after all!!!
Jan Newleaf |
previous damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
this round damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Swarm Attack: Creatures with the swarm subtype don't make standard melee attacks. Instead, they deal automatic damage to any creature whose space they occupy at the end of their move, with no attack roll needed.
Koddast |
Vysla, attack, trip! Koddast says, calling his she-wolf to trip the thug again, as he let's fire another arrow.
Koddast is using his move action to steady his shot getting the +4 from Bull's Eye shot.
Arrow to Hit: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 1 + 4 = 26
Possible Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d6 ⇒ 4
Vysla's Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Possible Bite Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Possible Trip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Holly Halloween |
------------------------------
Fort Save VS swarm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Ref Save VS Opo Bomb (DC15 I think): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Thug1 Knife VS Prone innocent lady (-4 to already weak AC)!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
------------------------------
MAP UPDATED.
The thug in the south wagon howls as the swarm finds its way up his pantaloons, biting viciously!
Aleon's club comes down so hard on the North Thugs' head that it splits open like a watermelon, sending brains everywhere. THUG 2 DEAD. Azalia plugs her nose as she clings to Aleon's shoulder...
Tamar Moivas |
Round 3
Appearing in front of the Thug who struck the woman is a Fiendish Dog that leaps to attack the man.
Fiendish Dog Attacks 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage Bite 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
A waste to let her die when we just wasted time rescuing her...
Tamar then casts Mage Armor to strengthen his own defenses.
Jan Newleaf |
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
There is the sound of thousands of popping bodies as the spiders get caught in wash of the goblin's bomb - but still enough to form a coherent swarm.
"Crawl my pretties!" Jan concentrates and directs his little spider minions crawl en masse behind the wicked man.
I don't think I can have them swarm him without hurting the woman, so I will just have them cut off his escape.
Koddast |
Like I said, last mistake you'll ever make. Now you should be asking yourself, 'was it worth it?' I'd have to say not. Koddast fires another arrow, and Vysla snaps another bite.
Arrow to Hit: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 1 + 4 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 81d6 ⇒ 4
Vysla's Bite: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 2 = 19
The +2 is from Opo's aid.
Vysla's damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Holly Halloween |
The thug-carny-guy sees Aleon's massive club swinging for his head! He gasps and dodges, only to see Koddasts 3rd arrow whizzing toward his face! As this arrow sinks into his left eye socket Vsyla pounces upon him. She sinks her teath into his gullet as he falls back into the swarm of poisonous bugs, dying with a sickly gurgling sound.
END COMBAT
The Amazing Opo |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Opo readies a bomb against the infernal dog just in case. can never trust a dog, they are not friendly like wolves are. When the dog fades away from the summoning Opo will give a sigh of relief and look at the lady.Human's sure are weird.
Opo will pet Vysla You are a good wolf. All wolves are friends to the goblin. Does your pet human always hide in the back when fights happen? Maybe I should get a pet human too. Hey lady, would you like to be my pet human?
Aleon Hunter |
I say we hide the bodies, if visitors or even if the people who run this carnival find out about this, they might shut the this place down. I say we cover it up, so the carnival can go on.
Koddast |
Hold on! Let me check the bodies to see if they have anything useful or any information that might be important. Koddast says and then goes about the macabre business of searching the bodies and the wagons. Vysla, search. Koddast says, hoping the wolf's scent might pick up anything he misses.
Koddast will take 20 on his perception check. Not sure if it's legal to have an animal companion Aid Another, but if it is, I'd like her roll to be an aid to Koddast's search.
Perception: 20 + 10 = 30
Vysla Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Edit:Before Vysla turns away to start sniffing the ground for anything interesting, she licks Opo's face. Aleon, will you make sure our damsel in distress is all right?
