Tillia giggled at Vandomir's suggestion and said, "If you wanted to kiss me you didn't have to come up with an excuse, you could have just done it Vandomir. The fact that you want Noravia involved, well, that's kinda hot." She looked at Noravia, "What do you think? The plan seems acceptable to me, it might even work."

Noravia laughed off Vandomir at first until Tillia added her assent. "Rowan never mentioned that you all were so close. Not exactly what I was expecting but it's not like I haven't done that before", she said mischievously. She smiled, "I guess it's the best way to hide in plain sight and some fun while we wait. It's not like there are more exits to cover and it would seem odd for three people to just be standing in the hallway."

Noravia then added, "It would probably be best to allow him to enter his apartment before instigating a fight. But we also don't want him to lock himself inside with Eirik and not be able to get in. Whoever sees him first should send their silver raven to let the others know he's coming. It can tap the window of the apartment to warn Eirik."

Action 1

Spoken loudly, so that Eirik and Caleb can hopefully hear. Also, not opposed to the other residents of the place hearing the Silver Ravens stopping a murderer.

As Wex turned, Vandomir was not surprised to see the wicked blade in the man's hand. Untangling himself from the women, he rose to meet the man's gaze drawing his greatsword and hoping that his erection was hidden and didn't ruin the moment. In his most authoritative voice he said, "Varl Wex, you stand accused of committing murders most foul around the city of Kintargo. The Silver Ravens have come to put a stop to your reign of terror, one way, or another. What shall it be?"

Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Vandomir readies to strike the man if he comes at him...

+1 Greatsword: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 = 13
+1 Greatsword Damage: 2d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 5) + 4 + 2 = 14

Not my greatest combat round ever. After today, maybe I should stick to social encounters and not combat ones!

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

You've been thoroughly distracted which is why your combat round went the way it did :)

Did Wex actually unlock and open his door to see that thread was gone? Wondering if we can still get him into his apartment or are we fighting in the hall only?

Noravia drew her morningstar, pointed it at Wex, and said clearly, "You have been judged for your crimes. Drop your weapon and things will go better for you."

Will use one of her judgments on Wex. She'll choose Justice for +1 sacred bonus to attack rolls.

He unlocked, opened it slightly, saw the missing thread, and closed the door but not locked it again.

Caleb sat on the roof, resembling some rag-wrapped gargoyle, and did his best not to hate Vandomir.
'I volunteered to come up here this morning' he reminded himself 'I'd argued with the old crone, and I told them I was the best at climbing' - a sudden thought gripped him, had HE told them, or had Vandomir manipulated him into... 'No. That way lies madness. This was the logical choice.'
Caleb had always prided himself as the talker of the group. Discovering Vandomir's hidden talent at manipulation had been an unpleasant surprise.
The day had looked to be nice enough when he came up here, but early morning sunshine had given way to light showers and a freezing wind from the continent. A wind in no way ameliorated by surrounding walls as he sat twelve meters above the ground on a cold, wet, slippery roof with nothing in the way of shelter. The trickle of water from the gutter over the edge like an endless waterfall constantly reminded him of how much he needed to go to the bathroom.
'I've got the best senses' he reminded himself, carefully keeping his gaze on the street below and not on the bench behind him where Vandomir made out with every female member of the rebellion. 'At least I'll be the one to see this Varl guy...'
Vandomir's voice rang out in heroic challenge behind him and Caleb spun around 'I bet the smug bastard doesn't even need to go to the bathroom.' Caleb felt the resentment grow within him, and shrugged as he released it onto their target.

Tillia found herself enjoying the impromptu make out session with both Vandomir and Noravia. It seemed that maybe that book of Caleb's was corrupting her just a little bit. When they were warned of Wex's approach she took things a bit further and moved to sit on Vandomir's lap, her knees straddling his waist, and she kissed him quite thoroughly. This, unfortunately, left her unaware that Wex was onto them as her back was turned on him.

Tillia's not going to resist being dumped on the floor if it becomes necessary as she knows the man we're after is here and that they may have to react quickly if he catches onto them.

I'm not convinced that the man Tillia is after isn't the one she just had her legs wrapped around!

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

Noravia didn't think that Varl was going to drop his weapon but she had to give him that chance.

sense motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Assuming she's fairly positive that he will attack them rather than surrendering

Sensing that he had no plans to surrender, Noravia moved forward with her morningstar and took a swing at Varl in an attempt to break his arm so that he'd drop the weapon.

attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 1 = 20
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Having been not as distracted by their previous actions as some people, Noravia's blood was still in her brain and limbs allowing her to land her swing with a sickening crunch.

Noravia plans to move behind him in order to flank but also to open the door to yell for Eirik/get Varl inside and out of hallway. I just don't see her doing that much movement this round but that's her plan.

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

So Eirik hears something's going on in the hallway, although only barely. If that means he gets to act after all, he'll just open the door to peek into the room, then sneak towards the outer door, considering he's bound to get a better feel at what's going on with one less door blocking the sounds he already heard... perhaps he can get surprise on the round he gets to attack ;^)

Vandomir thought to himself, "So that hurt, a LOT!"

He swung his sword down at the murderer...

+1 Greatsword: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 = 11
+1 Greatsword Damage: 2d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 6) + 4 + 2 = 14

But the profuse bleeding hindered his swing, and he missed his opponent.

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

Noravia did not like the look of Vandomir's wound because it seemed to be bleeding more profusely than expected. Neutralizing Varl was the best course of action for ending this quickly so that she could heal the noble. Moving to flank Varl, Noravia attacked him again with her judgmental morningstar.

attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 = 9
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Unfortunately Varl was able to twist out of reach as she moved to attack.

Oh - the closest apartment building I had seen in the real world didn't have the roof over the stairs, so I misunderstood.

Caleb dropped over the edge, falling thirty feet effortlessly to the ground to land on his feet in a crouch at the foot of the stairs, and somehow in one piece. Bouncing upright he took to the stairs, dashing effortlessly up. 'Better not have finished the guy by the time I get there...'

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Debating whether it'd be worth the wait to stop at the door and hopefully get one surprise attack next round, or forgo surprise and possibly get a fully flurry next time. I think I'll opt for the flurry possibility.

The wait had been long but Eirik didn't mind. He could ignore his body's need for food and water for a long time, nor did the air getting stale in the small room bother him. Instead, he had lit a small lamp he had found in the secret chamber, adjusted its position that his body would block any light that might shine on the cracks between door and wall to reveal him, and set to reading. It wasn't like he was short on intriguing material, after all.

A lot of the treaties and books were too esoteric and mystic for his taste and understanding even on the second reading, but considering his passing familiarity with the case of the original Slasher, he enjoyed the new insight. If what he read was right and not just the result of a diseased mind trying to rationalize its actions, this certainly changed things.

Was this Varl Wex merely a victim held captive by a powerful magical artifact? If so, might the same have been true to the previous wielder of the blade, Professor Magvhune? If so, Eirik had to considered the situation anew. Could Wex be redeemed merely by separating him from the weapon? Or had it been some existing flaw that had attracted the weapon to him? Had it been a case of like calling for like?

Though even if the killer could be taken alive, how to prove the weapon alone had been guilty of the crimes, and the man merely a helpless spectator?

No, there was no way of knowing for sure, and considering they were outlaws themselves, there was no wy they could have the man's case taken to court. Eirik shuddered at the thought what kind of use the Paracount might find for a weapon like this cult dagger seemed to be. No, safer to put the man down and lose the weapon. The nearby sea might help with the latter - perhaps they could lock the blade in a strongbox and call a marker with their friend the naval captain to have the thing thrown over the side where the waters were particularly deep.

A sudden sound returned the monk to the present. Not the kind of sound he had been waiting for, not the creak of an opening door but perhaps the click of an opening lock. Pressing his ear against the secret door, Eirik heard the noble's raised voice, followed by sounds of combat. So the plan had worked, but only up to a point. Moving silently, though confident the battle outside would hold the killer's attention, Eirik crept the few feet to the outer door and threw it open, fists raised to join the battle,

So let's get the door open and ready to rumble next round! Or get hit, as per usual ;^)

Tillia felt the sudden thump as she was dropped to the floor from Vandomir's lap. She heard both him and Noravia speak to their quarry, and she heard the fighting start, all while she was on her rump. She rose to her feet and moved to a place where she could see the target of their hunt and began casting a spell. It was then that she saw Vandomir's wound bleeding profusely and realized this fight was going to be much more dangerous than she thought it would be.

Basically, move action to stand, move action to move south two squares and west one. That takes all of my actions for the turn. The spell thing is just fluff.

Map wasn't updated, but I assume Eirik got into position last round. So it's flurry time. First hit lethal to get the bleed going, then nonlethal after that until otherwise announced. I don't see the target's AC anywhere, but I will assume the second hit will miss. Unless perhaps possibly if Noravia moves first and takes a 5' step south to enable flanking for Eirik?

Might as well use Stunning Fist on the first strike. Who knows, it might even work.

Flurry, unarmed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Flurry, unarmed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Flurry, lethal: 1d8 + 1d6 + 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + (6) + (2) + 1 = 13 1st bleed included, Fort save vs. DC 14 or stunned.
Flurry, nonlethal: 1d8 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + (6) + 1 = 13

Throwing open the door, Eirik emerged into the heart of the ensuing battle. The noble was bleeding profusely from his wounds, and some eldritch red mist was flowing from the spilled blood into the kukri-wielding enemy. Eirik didn't take the time to ponder what that might signify, but instead pressed the attack, to force Varl to divide his attention between multiple opponents on opposite flanks.

A fist infused with Eirik's Ki connected, a hammerfist blow on the enemy's weapon-wielding arm's shoulder. The monk could feel the burst of energy permeating the man's flesh, tearing muscles and blood vessels, proving two could play at that particular game.

Yes, I forgot to add the correct map to the turn recap.

here are the changes as compared to the map you do see:

Eirik is immediately west of Varl, Caleb is on the stairs (only 20' away from being in the 3rd square to the east of Varl, where you would have line of sight), and Tillia is two squares south and one east.
