Mae heads out into the room and blinks her eyes a few times as she sees the fake snake "That is not a normal snake. It looks mechanical." She reaches over and taps Uriel on the shoulder, offering him guidance on his next life decision. "The spirits of the forest have your back my Holy warrior friend." Guidance on Uriel
She then hollers at Sunny "Come Sunny, get out here and defend us already!" You swear you see Sunny's eye stalks roll with annoyance as she slithers out and spits another acid lunger at the snake.

Lucina hustles into the room, though there's not really anywhere to go except back behind Lady Mae and Sunny. "Mae, I hope you have a trick or something up your sleeve??"
But technically, Lucina still does as well. She conjures a glob of sticky ectoplasm and attempts to fling it at the bothersome snake construct, hoping to maybe buy the others some time...

"Tricks? Sleeves? I have neither of these things. I can ask for help from a friend, but they don't stay long. It can be a good thing, no one likes visitors who overstay their welcome and eat all your flies." She fishes out her casting equipment and gets to work summoning in something that hopefully is helpful.
Sunny however looks agitated so many people are in her way. She flings another gob of acid but doesn't like her odds of hitting.

Another long day of physical training. Handstands, pull ups and a lots and lots of lifting stones. Except for the final stone, which slips out of her hands. "Ack! Who covered this stone in oil? My foot!"
One of the other acolytes laughs and points. "Shouldn't have scared off my client last night, honey." He grins. "You and your constant training. Stop wasting your time, they like the ladies skinny."
Annilda simply shakes her head and begins scrubbing the oil off as the acolyte leaves. "I'm doing this for my benefit, idiot."
Lost in her thoughts, all Annilda can do is evade.

Lucina manages to place the second ectoplasmic ball on top of the first one, but Lady Mae's companion manages to slice and peck a chunk out of its body. Sunny sends another spittle wad across the pit, while Lady Mae does her best to assist in defending Ruby...

The necrophidius is again worn down by the attacks of the eagle and by Lucina's spell, but it does not seem to slow it down in the slightest, as it lashes out at the wolf's rider now...

While Lucina again damages the snake-construct with her spell, it is Damien that exacts revenge upon it for his mount's harm with a massive blow that smashes the side of its head into a broken heap!

After waiting for the paralysis to wear off you continue your search of the pit area, finding the pit drops out of sight hundreds of feet down. It would be a difficult climb down there in any event. In addition to the visible door on the far side of the pit, a locked secret door stands in the north wall of the room.

Looking at the locked secret door, she shrugs. "We could just smash the lock, no?"

With only Uriel offering any suggestions or insight on the matter of the secret door, Lucina finally shrugs and pulls the chime out of her pack.
"Well, as long as we make sure to keep one charge to get back out again, I guess this - hopefully - won't hurt," she remarks as she holds the chime in front of the door and rings it - once.

Lucina takes out the precious Chime, knowing its resources are limited, yet seeing this locked door as worth the risk, strikes the chime and a clear note issues from it...causing the door to vibrate briefly...

Frustrated that the door remains locked, you move on from there carefully edging your way around the pit and to the door on the other side. It opens easily and you see the corridor continue westwards before it turns to the south. An alcove faces to the west, with a stone door emblazoned with a strange seven-pointed star standing in the back. While door does not appear to be enchanted or trapped, it is indeed locked.

Taking a cue from the halfling, Uriel gives the door a kick, too. "Gozreh's balls!" the paladin curses. I don't think it counts, so long as I don't take Ragathiel's name in vain, peace be upon him.

Having neither the strength nor the skills to defeat the recurring locked door monster, Mae and Sunny continue down to the south, hoping to find another way and explore another area. "No sense crying over spilled bufo. Let's continue exploring."

Lucina sighs and nods, stowing the chime away for the time being. "Mae's right and besides, this place is absolutely huge. Maybe if we poke around long enough we'll find something that can help or another way around," she remarks as she moves to follow after the frog and slug duo.

Leaving the Sihedron symbol door behind you, you continue your explorations. The corridor branches off to both east and west, as well as continuing onwards...Engaging Dungeon Mode... seeing a set of double doors off to the right Annilda makes her way over there.
The doors open easily to reveal some sort of library here. This long, oval-shaped room is illuminated by floating balls of fire showing walls covered with a bewildering array of runes, sigils, and glyphs. Beneath these carvings, stacks of engraved stone tablets rest in recessed niches in the walls.
The room otherwise appears empty.
