I'd like to add in my own little two cents in, if that is alright...
This game, I feel, is all about choices and what you want to do. One of us on our own is obscenely powerful; a group of us is a Nightmare. I've played Exalted by White Wolf Publishing and this game feels like a d20 version of it. It is all about what you want to accomplish, what your goals are. We aren't as tied together as an adventuring party may be but we come together to battle truly dangerous threats that we alone cannot fight.
Evil can exist in this group, just like Set could exist in the Egyptian pantheon. No one liked him but he kept the worst things away in the darkness. A villain who isn't the absolute worst can be worked with, alliances and conflicts can occur without being immediately lethal because the pantheon -needs- each other. The good need the bad, the bad needs the good.
I think the most important thing about this is having a drive for what your first goal is and the will to do it (take advantage of every situation that comes up that could aid your immediate goal) and then dealing with the fallout of what happens when you meddle into things. The characters still need to be very human, even if they're not. Let them grow, let them change, let them fail, and let them succeed. New Words can be earned later as we level up and our power grows stronger and stronger and the characters evolve as people. They are very much like the Greek/Roman gods and goddesses; insanely powerful but incredibly human in their thinking.

This slightly diverges from the discussion, but I can say with certainty that that tone is intentional. The Deluxe edition of Godbound has a set of 'Themed' Godbound templates as character options that are very explicitly the different types of Exaltations with the serial numbers filed off. It even has extra words to help flesh out the concepts.

For what it's worth, Iofiel should be able to fit in pretty well with any group that's not outright, like, mass destroying everything. XD Personally, I've always been most fond of seeing the human aspect of powerful entities - you can only go "I blow up the city" so many times before it gets boring, y'know? Seeing how such a character would view a situation, though, and how to change it... to me, that's fun.

Viscount K |

Mysterious loners have zero place in most roleplays as far as Im concerned. If that is what you want to do then you're best finding someone who can run a solo game for that character. You are making a member of a pantheon of gods. You have to make someone who for whatever reason is willing to work with that group.
No worries there, the dude cooking in my brain is more than happy to be part of a group; just making sure that group wasn't full of paladins. =)
@Viscount K
I think you'll be totally fine. You did say he was benevolent--so a knightly character like mine might not be excited about pulling off a theft like yours would, but if you have good reasons he's not going to hate you for it or try to stop you. He could even be convinced to work with you--if the right reasons are there. I'm picturing (Marvel's) Thor and Loki in their more brotherly moments.
Yep, that all makes sense to me. That version of Loki's a bit more of a bastard than the guy I have in mind, but if you picture his nicer side/persona as more of the baseline guy then that's more or less good to go. Loves a good trick, will happily play wild games with the truth, and probably already has your wallet, but he's a damn good man to have on your side for exactly all those reasons.

Thankfully, it doesn't seem that anyone seems particularly interested in randomly destroying stuff. There might be a few with designs more geared toward conquest, but random destruction hasn't really shown up much. And everyone seems to be developing characters that are fairly human, for demigods at least.

I'm thinking about Bereket's weaknesses, which is the last blank in my application.
It definitely seems realistic that he would often doubt whether he really did the right thing on the day the Night Roads came. Sure, he guided a small group out of the city to safety, but how many of his brethren died because he wasn't there fighting beside them? Perhaps more would have been saved if he had stood and fought. I think anyone with a wise outsider perspective will believe Bereket did as well as could be done. Who could predict the outcome of that day? But we humans often tend to doubt ourselves and our actions. We fear we are not as good as we want and hope to be.
I also think his drive to protect the weak, those of low status (which is very Pavian, as these knights are not of noble blood), could become a weakness when pressed in certain ways. He will struggle to see what might be a greater good when faced with danger to innocents, and may take a course of action that protects some weak group that had no other defense, but in so doing fails to complete another task which spells a greater doom...
That last part would have to be RP'd delicately, I think. I would want to show real character, but also wouldn't want to doom the pantheon's goals to failure because of a choice like that. I always have in mind that we are playing a group game, and so what seems the most "true-to-character" move may not actually be the best way to go.

Rednal |

Personally, I think a character waffling between Immediate Good and Greater Good could be quite interesting. ^^ Personally, I'd enjoy being in a party with someone like that.
Iofiel has a few similarities, in fact - she sometimes wonders if saving people even matters, especially if they get thrust right back into danger...

Vrog Skyreaver |

For Sten, his absolute driving goal is to find his wife and child, as he has realized that he was missing his daughter's entire life.
As far as the concepts of morality go, Sten would much rather have good-leaning neighbors than evil-leaning ones, but he's not too concerned about his own morality.
Being an elementalist is about being even, so if we were using a DND/Pathfinder alignment system, I'd say he'd fall squarely into True Neutral territory.

GM Amsheagar |

I have played with Vrog before and have got his permission to mold my character into his story a little. Let me introduce, Fauna, his wife's sister.
Character: Fauna
Origin Fact: Fauna’s powers were awaken when she was out in the woods with her sister Flora.
Profession Fact: Fauna is a professional hunter. While that may sound odd, she hunts for herself and she hunts for whoever can pay her.
Relationship Fact: Fauna has a sister and a niece who she is looking for. They vanished one night and after searching on her own, she joined Sten to see if she can help him track them down.
Background: Fauna was raised in the Bright Republic. While her younger sister finished up school, Fauna dropped out at an early age to help feed the family and eventually grew her skills to a point where she could sell them to make extra money.
One of her most acclaimed achievements was to being hired as a trapper/tracker to find a wild beast that spawned due to the God Powers spilling onto the lands. Some kind of divine bison. Her mission was to track it and capture it, kill it if she couldn’t capture it.
She spent weeks in the woods to the west and finally was able to track it. She watched it for another week, learning its habits and what it was doing in the woods. It was almost like a guardian spirit for the lesser animals. Without knowing how she started to communicate with it and learned more about it. She taught it to hide its trails and how to hide from other trackers. She eventually left those woods and reported back to the person who hired her. She kept the original fee but lost anything she would have gained profit wise. However, the power that was awakened by the god beast.
When that job was over, Fauna returned to her hometown to find that her sister and niece were missing. She has put her tracking skills to work to track them down.
1st Word: Beast. Spending most of her time outside hunting when she was younger, she learned to communicate with the animals and eventually gained the powers over them.
2nd Word: Bow. Years of training has honed this skill.
3rd Word: Journeying. Time outside is time getting food and eventually time to explore and move swiftly. Know thy road and know thy journey.
Short Term/Immediate Goal: While she is looking for her sister, Flora, and niece, Tessa, Fauna needs to make money to support her parents back home. She will take on small jobs that will make money so they can survive until she can return to help them more. While they are not ancient, they are not as young as they once were.
Personal Motivations: The main thing that Fauna is looking for is her sister and niece. Once she finds them, she will continue to hunt and become part of nature once again. Back to her somewhat easier life of hunting and trapping.
Personal Weaknesses: Compassion for animals is what will do her in. While she hunts animals, she loves them and hates to harm them. But it’s a dog eat dog world and she will kill to survive and the need for money has affected her morals in more than one way. She knows that to survive, she has to use her talents in a way that she knows how to. She will kill an animal for coin and will not feel too bad about it. She, however, will not trap an animal that is a mother or a cub. It’s not something that she would ever allow herself to do.

Based on the discussion I want to clarify that my character is very much a team player. Though his background is quite lonesome, he understands that his end goal is beyond any solo ability he could ever possess. Plus, one requires others in order consistently experience new thing, and as a result learn new things.
Again wanted to clarify as I realized my character seemed very loner-ish.
I very much prefer real "human" characters and never fault players for their characters taking actions that their character would even if it isn't a great idea. AND, heroes fail sometimes too, often from mistakes. It makes the story that is collectively built much more interesting than us succeeding all the time. I want an interesting story and people to have fun above all else.

Hotaru of the Society |

I'm firmly in the camp of 'Drama is fun'. I like seeing characters grow, expand and make mistakes. I'm here for the story, not just the 'we have to do this to win.' As long as that drama isn't directed at a specific player, but rather at the setting or character, it's just a net win.
Fidelity will play well with others as long as they don't seek to control others, and would likely directly oppose those who did try to control others, depending on circumstances. For the most part, though, she'll be enabling others to do the things they feel need or should be done.
@Keante: Have you contemplated picking up the Health word for your knight yourself, if you feel it necessary for your personal quest? It seems like it's a core enough portion of your character's desires to be made manifest in that way. :)

![]() |

@Keante: Have you contemplated picking up the Health word for your knight yourself, if you feel it necessary for your personal quest? It seems like it's a core enough portion of your character's desires to be made manifest in that way. :)
An interesting point. Having thought it over, I think it's not really true that Health is a core portion of Bereket's desires. Rather, it may or may not ever enter his mind that he should seek a way to cure those who have become sick with the Plague. He is so accustomed to them inevitably becoming Husks, that his thoughts will be on protecting those who are not (in his mind) already doomed.
That will be another interesting point to RP, when characters have different ideas about who can be saved and who cannot. If Bereket sees one of the Godbound work a miracle of Health that cures someone of the Hollowing Plague, he will certainly have to get a change in perspective.
I am wondering whether I should drop one of my Words to replace it with Protection (from the Lexicon), because that certainly seems to me a very core part of the character.
In fact, I'm certain that the character should have Protection. What I'm not sure of is which of my existing choices I'm willing to give up for it. I'm leaning toward Artifice. Bereket is a blacksmith, but Artifice encompasses all kinds of ancient tech and magical stuff that has nothing to do with blacksmithing. I have no problem with the idea of him gaining that kind of extra knowledge as part of his divine power, but it doesn't seem to fit the character very closely.

Since people are discussing morality, I thought I'd chime in with Inge's outlook.
She views herself (or did, at least) as a mostly good and nice person. But it certainly isn't a driving goal in her life. She'd definitely prefer to cooperate if she can achieve her goals that way.
That said, she IS born of a Howler tribe and they (at least in my reading of them) have a VERY practical outlook on things. She'd do what had to be done and can probably be quite ruthless. IF NECESSARY. But never cruel.
Her current focus is definitely her Art and her newfound power, and how they interrelate with each other. At some level, she'd be fairly likely to agree with others plans on how to use that power. As long as it was being used for ends that she'd consider to be worthy.
No interest in power or wealth for its own sake. She has pretty simple tastes and can trivially (even BEFORE becoming a demigod) satisfy those tastes.
Edit: I am seeing her as VERY recently having achieved DemiGod status. As recently as possible given however we become a Pantheon. She is VERY much still coming to terms with what this means. I am a player for whom characters tend to gell in play as opposed to starting out with very rigidly defined personalities and goals. I would be disapointed if she does NOT end up changing significantly as the campaign progresses in ways that I cannot currently predict

kamenhero25 |

I should probably give my two cents on my character's personality and morality as well.
Anastasia has a tendency to be ruthless, but she's not actively cruel. Sometimes her actions can come across harshly because she's trying to be pragmatic. In part because she was first raised by a man trying to be a traditional nobleman with the proper manners and behavior that entailed, and partially because the rest of her life she was raised by an amoral witch queen who took amusement from forcing her foreign apprentice to challenge the other apprentices if she wanted to survive, much less succeed at anything.
That said, she doesn't intentionally act cruel and she does try to avoid some of the Ulstang's more reprehensible practices (such as hating slavery, since she's a former slave and all that). Though she certainly isn't opposed to using mindless undead for things like manual labor or dangerous battles. They don't really count in her mind since their souls have already moved on and she's just controlling bodies with magic. She wants to have her own kingdom, but she doesn't want to just brute force it and act like a petty, incompetent tyrant. She wants to be a leader that people actually want to follow willingly and earn their trust by actually being a decent ruler.
Honestly, I also see her desire to return to the Skerries and claim one of the thrones as wishful thinking on her part. She's much more likely to found a new kingdom or something like that than succeed as a witch-queen.

I made a thing. It's completely editable by whomever, and I already put a lot of the information in. I paraphrased a lot, in trying to summarize what applications were. I didn't add any gifts for anyone else, because it's quite a lot of work, and I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of wiggling on that front.
If you want to add your own gifts, the easiest way is to simply copy the full box for the Word with a ctrl + C and then ctrl + V it into one of the gift slots. You can use the merge tool at the top if it costs extra gift slots, and then simply swap the text.
It should make it a lot easier for everyone to get a quick overview of who is doing what at the moment. It certainly helped me to figure out what everyone was doing. :)

Very nice!. Thanks.
And I think I have my "Shoanti" name. Dances with Birds. I like that

Rednal |

So many colors! ...Speaking of, I thought about trying to integrate sing/dance for Iofiel, but it looked like someone was already going that route and I didn't want to step on anyone's toes. XD And I'm pretty happy with the final result - she's a pretty even split between offense, defense, and restoration, with good (if not truly divine) social interaction skills. Ought to be able to contribute to most sorts of encounters without trying to force a theme when it wouldn't make sense.

ChristheClown |

Sorry I'm late to the chat!
As I said, Bilaal is very black & white person but mixed with a "might makes right" mentality. For example, if someone has enough money to pay for your death, then you should have worked harder to be the richest person around and pay off any would-be assassin - it's really your own fault.
After the death of his love, he also grown very hateful of parasite gods and more than quick to jump to violent action they are involved, especially ones that demand human sacrifice - A slight juxtaposition that he more okay with killing for gold than god.
Lastly, Bilaal has very much let his godly status fill his head with visions of glory above any mortal man could reach. Namely, he wants to conquer Arcem and turn it into a paradise to build an army of Mongol-like warriors and raid Hell to save the soul of his love. But don't tell anyone.
Oh, also put up my gifts in the google doc thing - thanks for that @Hotaru of the Society

KingHotTrash |

Well, if we're discussing character personality and morality...
Sun Tao is a good-natured and good-hearted; wanting to try and find what is best for everyone and in the most peaceful of manner. He is no warrior despite his immense strength and his control of death. His newly attained knowledge hounds him to change things to the better because he knows things have -been- better before.
When things come to push though, those more dangerous gifts will be used in the most direct and terrible of ways. He is a new demigod and has not yet seen the consequence of his own actions; just the consequence of the inaction of others. When those come back to bite him on the ass, he will likely go for balance.
As he grows in his divine might, he'll definitely want to make things right once more. Heaven must be repaired and Hell must be freed from the hands of angels. It'll be glorious for sure.

I just remembered I have a rules question! When you pick up Divine Wrath or Corona of Fury, do you have to pick one of your words for them to be from?
The answer determines whether I need to buy it more than once if I want to make it a blast of stone one round and a flurry of steel a couple rounds later. You might ask if it really matters which of your Words describes its nature, but...
You are always immune to the wrath of your own
bound Words, as are other entities that wield similar powers.

The Universal Gifts are basically "every Gift has this list plus their unique powers" so yes, you'd have to buy them separately by the rules unless the GM wants to allow it for thematic reasons.
I think this is mainly in place so you can't just switch elements on the fly and avoid immunity like it's nothing.

Hmm...So, this may seem pointlessly cagey, but I will leave the details of my character's personality to in-game exploration. A little because I haven't ironed out all the specifics, but mostly because the mechanics I have chosen and things expressed about him are very intentional, which have huuge influences to his personality. And, because of that intentionality, I prefer my fellow players to experience the character that I have built. I make characters for other's enjoyment and then derive my enjoyment from how entertained others are with my characters.
Though, as a reassurance, if placed in the classic alignment system he would easily fall in the NG category, with lawful tendencies.
Based on others submissions, I highly suspect there would be temperament and moralistic based conflict between my character and many of the others and I am very excited about it. Healthy disagreements make friends, healthy conflicts make a team.

Storm Dragon |

I'll have my submission up tomorrow. I have stats, Words/Gifts (Sword/Health/Sea), and a rough backstory (in this profile) but still need Facts and such.
Basically, he's an old viking-ish dude that got injured, and was restored to his prime by the Health word, and is raring to sail, plunder, and explore again.

Okay, I'm just making sure everything is put together in one place now:
Name: Bereket Zerezghi
Origin Fact: Hard-working villager from rural Ancalia.
Profession Fact: Apprenticed to the village blacksmith and continued blacksmithing after becoming a squire and then a knight.
Relationship Fact: A full knight member of the Pavian Order.
Background:
Bereket grew up in a village near Ancalia's northern coast. As he grew out of adolescence he apprenticed with the local blacksmith. Some years later, the village was victim to an Ulstang raid. There was some forewarning and knights came to defend the village--still, battle is chaotic and the villagers were not totally removed from it. Bereket acquitted himself well when a couple lesser undead got away from the knights' battle line and approached the village hall where the women and children were being sheltered. This earned him the notice of one of the knights who belonged to the Pavian Order. Bereket became a squire with the Pavians and grew in skill with a blade and in noble conduct. He became a full knight about 5 years before the Night Roads appeared throughout Ancalia.
On that terrible and chaotic day, Bereket led a group of citizens in a perilous flight from the devastation of Janjero, one of Ancalia's great cities. The group fled east until they reached ___, the village of Bereket's birth. Bereket was the only knight with this group of refugees--others had stayed to fight in Janjero or led other refugees to other places. It was a couple days after their arrival in the village that Bereket was out scouting and spied a roving pack of Husks. There was not time or space enough for him to return to the village. The only option Bereket saw before him was to lead the pack on a chase in a different direction, far from any innocents. He ran as long as he could, and when he felt his legs could carry him no further, he turned to face the oncoming, tireless Husks. The ravenous, slavering undead raced toward him. Bereket planted his feet, lifted his shield, and began to whirl his flail. He felt the earth beneath his feet, and the solid stone beneath that. He would stand firm, like the ancient rock. As the first Husks reached him, Bereket smote one in the head with his swinging flail, smashing the creature to bits. He bashed a second with his shield, knocking it back for a moment while he spun his flail about to whack a third. And then the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh Husks were upon him, bowling him over and onto his back. They scrabbled at his chainmail, desperate to pull it free to have their feast. Bereket punched one with a gauntleted fist but then another Husk was there pushing his arm down flat on the ground.
It was at this moment that a low growl formed in Bereket's throat, and it quickly erupted into a wordless war cry, rough, but deep and sonorous. The earth erupted around him, stony protrusions thrusting forth and throwing Husks every where. Bereket suddenly found himself to be back on his feet, and feeling a vital energy like none he had ever known. His weariness was gone, and his flail felt light in his hand. He fought, and the Husks died their second death.
Word #1: Artifice
Word #2: Earth
Word #3: Sword
Short Term/Immediate Goal: Secure the people of his village, including the refugees he led there from Janjero. Look for surviving knights of any of the Orders.
Personal Motivations: I must protect the lowly and weak. I am an unyielding mountain who shields them from the ravages of evil creatures and the depredations of evil men.
Personal Weaknesses: Bereket doubts himself, the wisdom of his choices, and whether he is truly strong enough to protect the weak as is his duty. He can be single-minded about his duty and miss the larger picture or the greater good.

Really loving the back and forth between everyone talking about characters. The Google Doc is amazing and will prove very helpful. So as a reminder recruitment will close the 30th. After that I'll probably leave 24 hours for final changes or submissions, but no one who hasn't at least doted in by that point. After that I'll take a day or two to review so I'd expect to make selections around the 3rd.

Tapu |
I'm thinking that UTOPIA will have an interesting dynamic with the rest of the gods. Even though it was programmed to believe it is uniquely capable of saving the world, it understands that that isn't entirely true. A lot of character development will probably come from accepting that the other gods (especially any peaceful gods of prosperity or governance) are important for keeping society healthy. UTOPIA needs to find out for itself *why* it wants to preserve the world; it woke up one day with a will of its own, programmed ambitions, and the power of a god, but there isn't much that it actually *wants*. The nature of the Pantheon is likely to really influence how UTOPIA develops, and I'm curious to see what kind of god it becomes!

![]() |

I'm very excited to hopfully be able to play my character. I have played, and enjoy playing, knowledge focused spell casters. But, the concept/personality for this one is very different from any of the others I have played. I hope to grow him with the rest.

Evelyn Lyon |

This is Pathfinder Zoey with a character for the joint submission with Hotaru of the Society - Everything is more detailed in the profile but I tried to give a shortened version here for ease of use.
Origin Fact:
Evelyn was born and raised in The Bleak Reach after her family was exiled from the Bright Republic when her father attempted to expose a corrupted official but was betrayed.
Profession Fact:
Evelyn braves the dangers of the Reach’s in-lands in order to scavenge the ruins of ancient cities, she brings her findings back to Long Nets to be used for bartering.
Relationship Fact:
Few merchants are willing to travel into the dangerous lands of the Reach, so Evelyn makes sure she is in good favor with those brave few that do.
Background:
According to her teammates when the trap went off everyone was hit but no one had sustained any injuries - except for her of course, who seemed to be bleeding enough for all of them. They have no idea how she was even still alive with all the injuries but even that was nothing compared to the claims of her fighting off a monster that had attacked them with her bare hands. Evelyn wasn’t sure what to make of any of this, but if it were true she had such power, she knew it should be used for much greater things than scavenging.
1st Word: Protection
2nd Word: Endurance
3rd Word: Might
Short Term/Immediate Goal:
Evelyn seeks to establish a diplomatic Council of The Bleak Reach tribes in order to protect their people and begin rebuilding the nation as one.
Personal Motivations:
A strong sense of unity and a desire to restore their home.

TheUnthinker |

Recruitment is closed!
No more new Applicants will be considered. Anyone who posted their interest will have 24 hours to finish their application and get it posted. Then Ill go through them and make my selections.
I want to thank everyone for the interest shown. This is the first recruitment I've done on this site. I always wondered how much people played it up when they said they were so sorry they couldn't accept everyone. Pretty obvious to me now that the struggle to make selections is very real. I've already decided to select five when I was started out thinking either three or four. But Im still gonna have to turn down some great applications. I will definitely keep anyone who applied in mind if there are drop-outs or complications, or if I lost my mind and end up starting up another Godbound game alongside this one. Anyways get your finishing touched on them and best of luck guys.

Idiot Cube |

I'm so antsy.
Same here!
Also, I finished Izmir’s backstory.
He recalled the scene in perfect detail, as if it had happened yesterday. He and his father had been training in an open field like they did most summer afternoons. Suddenly, the sky seemed to darken above them, as a shimmering mass of darkness opened a few hundred feet away. The young Izmir stared at it curiously, but his more worldly father turned pale. ”Run, Izmir.” he said softly.
Before Izmir could open his mouth to ask what was happening, a horde of wretched abominations erupted out of the darkness, their anguished screams rattling the young lad’s ears. His father picked up his sword and faced the horde, as he shouted ”RUN! NOW!”
Instinct taking hold of Izmir’s body as he bolted away from the chaotic scene. He ran nearly a mile, before he bumped into a trio of Pavian knights on patrol. Recognizing Alumon’s son, they quickly asked the boy where his father was. He could only respond by falling to his knees, weeping.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------
Over the following days, Izmir would gradually piece together what had happened. By sheer misfortune, Alumon Runarin had been directly next to one of the nine Night Road entrances that opened that day. He never had the chance to regroup with his fellow knights to defend his people - all he could do was hold off the Uncreated long enough save his own son.
And Izmir had left him to die.
From then on, Izmir gave up on his dream of becoming a knight. After all, wasn’t it a knight’s duty to die in battle, especially back to back with one of his comrades? Sometimes he wished it had been him who died that day, so that Alumon could go on giving hope to what remained of his countrymen.
Still, the knights who found him had graciously offered to take him under their wing as an attendant of sorts. He was all too happy to oblige. For five years, he would stay at their side as they roamed across the remnants of their homeland, delivering justice wherever they could. Their group grew in number, but not by much - there were so few knights left.
One day, at the request of a troubled farming village, they were clearing out a cave full of monsters that had been wandering into the village and destroying crops. It seemed to be going well - even Izmir could handle some of the pests, not that he would try. But suddenly, they were cornered by a much larger one, whose thick hide shone like steel and seemed impervious to their swords! Izmir froze where he stood. There was nowhere to run, the knights were helpless...was this the end?
Then something strange happened: Izmir found himself running toward the monster! He had no reason to think he could help, but something told him that he had to try! As he ran, the monster and knights seemed to be moving in slow motion, and the sparks of clanging swords hovered in place like fireflies. He threw a wild punch, his arm surging with unfamiliar energy. And as his fist connected with the creature's head, he felt its skull crumple like paper.
From the knights’ perspective, only an instant had passed One moment they were fighting desperately, and the next, the fearsome beast fell to the ground with a large hole in its head. Then they noticed Izmir beside them, fist outstretched. But he wasn't the timid young man they had known - he stood tall and proud, and his eyes burned with a fierce determination that reminded them of his father.
Izmir turned and saw his allies gawking at him, awestruck. He couldn't help but laugh at the sight.
”You all look like you've seen a ghost!” he teased, his once soft voice now booming with confidence. ”Now come on - we've still got work to do.”
The knights snapped out of their trance, and followed Izmir further into the cave. Indeed, they would follow him into the pits of Hell if he asked them to. What else can you do when a Godbound is leading the charge?

Rednal |

Depends on the exact game, but typically...
1) No, but most Godbound aren't too shy about advertising who/what they are, and you're probably going to become famous pretty quickly unless you take steps to hide yourself. When it basically takes a mortal hero to even slow you down, you don't worry too much about the opinions of others unless you really want to. XD Of course, if you're obviously more than human in appearance, it gets harder...
2) No, but some powers (especially Knowledge) may let them do that.
3) Yes. Just bluff it normally. Of course, the Deception word can make it considerably easier... XD

IMO, detecting godbound is more about how they use their powers than any ability that detects nascent deities, although that entirely depends on what they did before they became godbound. Sten, for example, was an elementalist, so to most people that's just what he does: to other elementalists, however, it will quickly become apparent that he is either the greatest elementalist that has ever existed, or something else is going on with him.
I imagine that the same could be said of most people's usage of the words: lay people might see someone who has the sword word as being an amazing swordsman, but people who practice the art would likely know that the person with the sword word does things that are impossible.

So this was actually incredibly hard. There were more applications than I really expected. Going into this I was honestly looking for just three decent applications to accept. Instead I ended up choosing five and I feel like I had to turn down some really great ones. If I can get this game going and it feels stable and I think I could commit to a second Ill be sure to keep in mind anyone who applied to this game but best of luck to everyone else. So without further ado here are my selections:
KingHotTrash - Sun Tao
ChristheClown - Bilaal
Hotaru of the Society - Fidelity Tanner
Pathfinder Zoey - Evelyn Lyon
Keante - Bereket Zerezghi
Congrats to the selected and thanks again to everyone who applied. If you were accepted you should please feel free to post in the Discussion thread and I will be PMing you a Discord link as well. The Discord is optional but I think it might ease communication moving forward.
