Daseem found the jungle-cum-garden to be a marvel albeit one that left him feeling cold despite the warmth. This wasn't made for the likes of him, he wasn't welcome, none of them where. As he was thinking these gloomy thoughts, scrabbler got eaten and then pandemonium broke loose.

While Bupkis still enjoys the beauty of the vegetation and the colorful birds and insects living in it and Ivan rpepares for some serious action, Menrozzar and Daseem charge into the fight.

One of the appendages of the plant lashes out at Menrozzar, but fails to hurt him. The falchion is stopped by the thick bark in turn. Daseem comes in after the armored companion, and cuts into the trunk of the thing.

Ivan moves with the grace and power of a large hill, slamming his hammer towards the thing. But the new size is a little unusual for him, and throws his balance off slightly.

Ivan looks impressive and the hammer makes the plant, that is still bigger than ivan, shake. But it leaves no visible damage. Menrozzar on the other side adds an even deeper cut than last time, but the plant looks like it can take a lot more.

Daseem circles round the plant hoping to flank it with Menrozzar. Chopping at this thing felt like trying to fell a tree. "Should-a brought an axe!" he growled as he swung!

Ivan hands the plant a double serving. It doesn't look very well anymore after that treatment. Daseem adds to that. The plant looks as if it will topple over if you add another straw. Bupkis shoots into the green sending a few birds fleeing into the air.

Ivan finds the most central spot on the plant, and slams his hammer into it with both hands, full round Coup de grace.

Ivan makes sure the plant is dead and stays dead. Vital parts of it are nothing but sludge. One only hopes Scrabbler wasn't in that part of the plant.

Bupkis digs for his kin in there and after a few seconds that feel like forever he pull sout the limp body of the goblin. His strong green complexion is bleached to a sickly green.

The plant stays indeed dead. Even after a minute, when Scrabbler wakes up the plant still stays dead and makes no attempt at healing again.

Daseem watched Bupkis pull Scrabbler out of the plant's stomach? Did plants have stomachs?! This was so strange and there was a lump in his throat as he realized the little one might be dead. Bupkis did what he could to save Scrabbler and with a start Daseem realized he should be helping too. He got the wand out and treated some of the burns.

Scrabbler eventually shook off the stiffness with a wimper. His new skin was bright green and healthy looking, but his eyes were wild and traumatized.

Good point, we wouldn't be proper murder hobos unless we check for loot.
Daseem turns around and starts poking through the wreckage of the plant with his sword, looking for anything of interest.

Might as well cast Detect Magic too.

The anatomy of the plant doesn't seem to have an exit. Either it pukes out the inedible parts of it's food, or everything remains there until it is properly digested. As a result the inside of the plant is filled with unfathomable sludge that might have been everything. But a few shiny things stick out on closer inspection. A few gold coins and a silverish dagger have weathered the strong acid inside the stomach.

How do you get that out?

When he hears reports of shinies in the plant, Bupkis tries to cut the thing open with his kinetic blade.

Bupkis looks into the inside of the plant, and tries to move the dagger with telekinesis.

Using Basic Telekinesis, which can move magical objects of up to 10 lbs. If that doesn't work, he'll try to reach in and grab the dagger.

The problem isn't getting the pieces out of the plant. That works with a pointy stick too. It's still covered in sticky corrosive goo.

After a while of fiddling around with different means, the plant is dissected and all the valueables are on the ground on the jungle besides the withering corpse.

Moving on into the the hollow tree and through the door in there, you come into a long narrow corridor. Numerous flowers cling to the myriad vines and creepers growing over every inch of this curving corridor. A powerful bouquet of competing floral fragrances floats throughout the enclosed space.

Daseem looked at the stinking gloop and the shiny dagger. He glanced at his sword now that was what Gorum intended... Shrugging he turned his back on the mess and walked towards the hollow tree and walked through the door. The cloying scent of the exotic plants within made him sneeze and he stopped to splutter, "Ugh get's right up my n-n-noose, ATCHOO!"
