While you all stand there trying to help Bupkis and Scrabbler, you hear steps above.

@Bupkis: Yes you took damage. Thats the second number of the trap's attack roll.

Could we take 20 on the strength checks? Normally it takes 20x the amount of time the normal action would, so we would spend about 6-12 minutes working then out of these things, assuming anyone can get those DCs

Kitsune Game Master

Of course you can take 20. But for now you can only take an action for one round. If your priority there is to get the goblins out of the traps, then you roll for it.

As Ivan takes a closer look, the bookshelf on one side of the room holds little of value — only the mostly destroyed pages of Iomedae’s holy text, Acts of Iomedae, and several other weathered scriptures.

The chest, however, contains quite some interesting items. But the only thing looking helpful for the problem at hand is the set of thieves tools.

Chest Content:
1 ounce of sovereign glue, 2 doses of universal solvent, 50 feet of silk rope, a disguise kit (with 6 uses remaining), a set of thieves’ tools, a noble’s outfit, a signet ring, and coins totaling 237 gp, 155 sp, and 55 cp

While Daseem and Edwin try in vain to get the goblins free under the watchful eye of Edgar, Menrozzar storms up the ladder. As he sticks his head out of the destroyed trap door, he looks into the dumbfounded face of Daktani. "Ghaer, the guard is here." he shouts and throws a tanglefoot bag at Menrozzar, entangling him in sticky goo that immediately hardens.

Menrozzar cried out as he was stuck to the ladder - Lucerne hammer stowed, no weapon in hand - and Daltani was there. He was vulnerable, and whatever Daktani and Ghaer were up to, they were going to get away with it. He felt fear - and then, that flame inside him flared up, getting hotter and more powerful, and this time, he surrendered to it. He let out a near-bestial roar. His eyes turned gold and reptilian, his hands warped into scaled, draconian claws. He then clawed at the goo, trying to scrape it off so he could pursue the cutpurse.
