Kraygan peers over the logs at the orcs flooding through the gate. That the invaders have gotten this far means that the town beyond has fallen.

"The Ramblehouse..." His eyes go wide at the thought of monsters raiding his drinking hole. "Father-of-f*%$in-Creation! They got the Ramblehouse!!" He cries in rage, then throws himself into loosing the logs.

Round 1 of log rolling.
@GM: You said "flaming" logs. Do we need to light these on fire?

Torgan leaps into the breach, halberd at the ready. "Come an' get some ye stinkin' orcs!"

He readies a strike for the nearest orc to approach.

Ready Action: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7

Torgan, if you intended to grab a reach weapon, you probably should have grabbed the glaive - halberds don't have reach.

Yup! That is what I intended. Mind if I picked up a glaive instead DM?

Torgan grabs a glaive from the ground and braces himself against the wave of orcs.

Kraygan begins to release the lashings on the southern set of logs. 1 full round action on the logs left to release; you can try to set on fire if you want, though I don't know how much I would listen to a rambling drunk man :)

Wren hurls a bag over the barricades as he strikes the red orc. The bag explodes in a thick tar-like substance and a small ball of fire.

The orc catches fire as it begins a bloodcurdling scream that takes Wren back to a time long ago. Trying to run away the orc is unable to move and true fear enters it's eyes.

The orcs run as far as they can at the barricades. as a couple slash out at Torgan and and Omast.

Torgan thought he was prepared for the orcs but watching Omasts back preoccupied him as a falchion digs into his side while Omast nearly falls on the orc's blade.

"F&#* it." Torgan spits vitriolically as he throws the glaive to the ground. He draws his dwarven-made axes and strikes out at the orc with the falchion.

Free Action to draw weapons as Torgan picked up Quick Draw for his level 3 feat.

Halfway through releasing the logs Kraygan notices that not very many orcs are in the path of destruction. Recalling some tactics learned in his time among the ranks of the Janderhoff army, he calls out to his companions in dwarven.

Retrieving one of his potions, he guzzles it down. His body begins to swell, as if he was drawing a deep breath, then rises up to about double his normal height. Grabbing his lance in two hands, he puts a foot up on the barricade, flexes his large muscles, and gives a great belly laugh.

"HAH HAH HAH!"

Move action to get potion, standard to drink. Effects are immediate with a potion because there is no casting time.

[ooc@Torgan- I forgot your AoO was already rolled. It did hit the yellow orc as it moved up to you.[/ooc]

Torgan drops the glaive to the ground as he draws both of his axes. Taking a deep breath he closes his eyes and begins to swing, missing every orc around him.

Kraygan guzzles down a potion and immediately grows to twice his size!

He draws his bow and fires at yellow.

Ah Kraygan. Nice. Just don't forget about cover penalties (aka, -4, as if you are using a ranged weapon) when you are fighting large while in charge with reach.

Vanderhoff hustles over to the barricade, coming up behind Omaust.

Double move, can't edit map atm.

Vanderhoff moves to support Omast while Hops gores the oncoming orc. Shifting his bulky weight causes Jorgan's axe to strike into the barricade.

The red orc continues to burn while Wren fires a bolt over the tower.

Omast draws his greatsword as he stumbles over the pile of logs. He swings his greatsword at the orc in front of him

Greatsword vs Green: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 8 - 2 = 15
damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 4) + 4 = 13

Omast's greatsword nearly cleaves the orc in two, or it may have if he wasn't nearly as inebriated.

The orcs continue to rush the barricades as Kraygan slams his lance at the blue orc. The lance is large enough that it caves in the orc's chest.

Kraygan shifts a step to his right and thrusts his lance at the orc hacking into Torgan. "Omaust, Torgan! Yer on the wrong side o' the barricade!"

@Wren: Regarding the rule about reach weapons and soft cover - I am aware of it. Hopefully I'll be able to keep Kraygan at a good angle to avoid the penalty.

@GM: I copied the token for Hops to create one for Haggis, and put him near the barricade to Kraygan's left.

@Kraygan: Oh! I thought the giant logs were the barricade, but now I realize that they are the things that we can loose to crush the orcs.

"Omaust! Fall back... to the rest." Torgan spits out as he takes another savage blow, sending his blood splattering against the barricade.

He spins around, trying to fell the yellow-clad orc.

Licking his wounds Torgan returns them to the orc in full.. Both axes cleave into the orc's neck and shoulder. Enraged it looks as if it is on the verge of collapsing.

The fires begin to engulf the Orc's clothing even more as it frantically grasps at the burning pitch.

Wren fires an arrow at the orc slashing at Jorgan but ends up sinking it into the logs near him instead.

Hops crushes the orc's chest as Jorgan slams his axe into it's lungs.

Omast swings his greatsword with surprising accuracy

The drunken man stumbles yet somehow manages to impale the green orc upon his blade. The orc gives a few quick jerks before becoming still.

Omast stumbles forward as if he did not hear Torgan and begins to taunt the orc's. Yoush will never take Trhunauh. His face turns red as another wave of orcs pour through the gate. The rear orc seems to be carrying a small bag of glass vials with smoky red and green liquids.

The orcs attempt to cut Omast and Torgan down.

Wren offers a grim smile as Jorgan finds his fight, cutting down the orc in a display of martial prowess not yet seen by the elf.

"Nice work, dwarf."

Wren moves begins a full round cast, recalling what was remembered with the Morningstar's gift.

Torgan tries to finish off the remaining orc in front of him with his axe before retreating behind the barricade. His waraxe finds purchase in the orc's throat, as Torgan leaps over the barricade.

Waraxe: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 2 = 12

I am assuming another 12 damage will drop the yellow orc and 16 has already shown to hit on these guys, thus I am using my move action to cross back over the barricade to help Kraygan with the logs, if need be.

Jorgan takes a moment to cast a spell on his axe. lead blades

"Omaust! Yer too close to the logs, Withdraw!!" Kraygan shouts to the other drunk. Then adds some motivation. "I got a bottle here with yer name on it!"

Delaying until Omaust acts. I need to know if he's moving back. If he does follow directions and withdraws, Kraygan will steer him to the spot just east of Torgan, then Kraygan will take up position between Torgan and Vanderhoff.

Also, how hard is it to climb the logs? And how much cover to they provide? For instance, can Kraygan try to lance the Orange orc with his current reach from the spot I'd like to go to?

@Jorgan- That sucks. Good thing you were able to track down another box though! My wife would have been frantic hehe

@Kraygan- Not too hard to climb the logs as they are bound together tightly like steps. They provide cover similar to the barricades. With Kraygan's size I do not see why he would not be able to reach the orange orc

Torgan finishes the limping orc as he climbs back over the barrier to help Kraygan with the logs. Both sets of logs still require one full round action to release the logs each

Jorgan calls upon an inner power as his axe becomes denser and heavier.
Wren's bag of burning pitch continues to burn away at the orc. Half of it's skin and clothes are now gone.

His voice echoes over the field as he calls back a complex spell.

Omast hears Kraygan and begins to withdraw back to the dwarf. He pants for breath as his hand clings his side. No time fer a drink Dwarf!

"One second." Kraygan replies to Omaust as he steps past him and up the barricade. Spotting the orc near the logs, he readies his lance to thrust when it steps into the gap.

Rather than attack with a penalty, I'll ready to attack when it steps out. Also, Kraygan is now set up for an AoO on anyone approaching the gap, and since he's got 15' reach now and is closer to the barricade then anything approaching from the other side, he should be able to stab without the cover penalty.

Seeing things begin to turn, Van takes the time to loosen the logs in front of him. "Should we some more get closer, before letting loose the logs?!" He yells, slowing his hands a bit.

Kraygan readies his large lance perching himself onto the barricade as Vanderhoff readies the northern log pile to spill over at any second.

As the orange orc moves in Kraygan lashes out at it twice but it seems to easily dodge the dwarf's lance as it reaches the barricade

The red orc continues to try and free itself

And frantically pats at the flames to extinguish itself.

Both of which are extremely unsuccessful.

The orcs rush the barricades while the orange orc slashes at Kraygan and the strange looking orc carrying the bag pulls out a round object containing a short fuse on it. Vanderhoff should get an AoO with his hammer on orange also I believe

The green orc falls to the ground in a heap as it begins to snore loudly.

The red orc stops screaming as it's lungs begin to burn. A rage unlike any other enters it's eyes.

An orc appears around the corner, so Torgan lashes out with his axes at the orc. "Oi! Can't a dwarf get a reprieve from th'ugly permeatin' this city?"

He steps back after swinging his axes to avoid reprisal.

@GM: where exactly will the logs roll if loosed? Would the bomber get hit if Vanderhoff set loose the northern ones?
Also, does the barricade offer any cover bonus if both attacker and defender are adjacent to it?

With a glance at Omaust, Kraygan takes a large step back from the barricade, giving the orcs a chance to start climbing it as he reaches for his pouch. He knows the glazed look in the man's eyes well, and was on the verge of finding himself there just a short while ago. If the battle were desperate, and tactics unnecessary, he'd let Omaust continue on liquid courage. Sometimes you didn't want to think too hard in a fight, but this wasn't one of those times.

Plucking a small bottle from his pouch, he drops it at the man's feet. "Here ye go! Drink it quick!!" He then turns back to the barricade and readies his lance to stab any orc that tries to climb over.

Ready action to attack. Should probably get an AoO on any climbing over too, right?

Van takes a swipe at an oncoming orc, as he finishes loosing the logs, setting them rolling toward the horde.

@Kraygan- The logs will roll in a straight path in a western direction towards the orcs. The bomber would not get struck by either sets of logs at this point. The barricade does not add cover if attacker and defender are adjacent or if attacker is closer than defender. Though the logs will not strike the bomber he is in the path of the boulder which rolls in the same direction.

Seeing the orcs coming closer, Torgan slams both axes into the creature before be stumbles backwards nearly falling over the barricade.

Kraygan hands a vial to Omast. Realizing what it is he quickly consumes the contents. Omasts face seem to regain a bit of color as does his stagger. Thanks Dwarf! Lets end these bastards an make em think twice bout attacking Trunau for a long time!

I would say you would get an AoO for climbers.

Van finishes releasing the northern set of logs. The logs let loose with a deafening roar as they smash into everything in their path coming to rest against the western wall.

Northern Logs are used. I have no way of removing them from the map.

Log Damage Green Orc: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 1) = 7

The logs crush over the green orc waking him up in pain. Luckily most of the logs rushed over him as he was already on the ground.

Not going to roll to see if he gets knocked prone as he already is.

The red orc struggles against his bonds and fire as the green orc stans up checking over his wounds. A surprised look on his face.

Red Strength Tangled: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Red reflex fire out: 1d20 ⇒ 2

The red orc is able to rip himself free but unable to put the flames out as he moves around the field frantically.

Three of the orcs begin to clamor over the barricade as Kragan smashes his lance into one, breaking it's neck but misses the other. Vanderhoff swings his hammer at the orc and was too busy with the logs missing his opportunity.

haggis should get an AoO on blue.

The blue and Orange orcs slash at Haggis and Kraygan with their falchions as they smile having breached the groups defenses.

Haggis gets swiped across the side as Kraygan is nearly eviserated by the sharp blade.

The bombadier orc lights the fuse on the canister that he is holding and hurls it over the barricade.

The grenade lands behind Kraygan and lets out a sizzling sound as the Fuse burns slowly.

Ok, I expected more from the logs. I feel like they just wasted 3 rounds of actions for one half-a$$ed lame attack. :/
@GM: What's the deal with the boulder? I'm guessing it's a similar effect to the logs?

Haggis rams the orc as it crosses the barricade, but takes a bloody gash in the process.

Kraygan looks back at the bomb rolling to a stop just behind him. "Uhhh... Jorgan!? Little help here? AARrgghh!!" Distracted, he doesn't evade the orc's blade at all and screams, half in pain, half in rage, from the injury. "Hoff! Could use healin!" the logs and Boulder are the same. They strike all creatures in their path for 3d6 damage and a chance of knocking them prone. .

Yeah, it's hard to believe the Trunauans are being overrun when they have defenses that will, after 3 rounds of work, might strike an area where orcs might be sleeping. /end snark.

Vanderhoff heals Kraygan's wounds as he moves towards the hissing cylinder to inspect it.

Haggis rams the orc into the Barricade as Torgan takes it's leg out while Wren fires an arrow into it's arm. The orc looks the worse for wear as the group simultaneously attacks it.

In a rage Kraygan ditches his lance for his waraxe and imbeds it right in the middle of the orc's skull, dropping it in a single blow.

Yea Trunau's defenses are not the best. Though I believe these were meant to be more of a hasty position as the logpiles were already there. The Trunauans brought the barricades when the battle started and something bigger hurled the boulder into the town. The only way I could see the 3 mechanisms being overly useful is if released all in the same round to knock everything prone and 3d6 damage. But the way this reads Trunau should have been overrun a long time ago.

The green orc clamors over the barricade and slashes at Vanderhoff with his falchion. AoO from Van and Kraygan for movement

The falchion cuts into Van's side as he is putting the alchemists flames out.

The blue orc slashes at Torgan.

Torgan is able to push the Orc against the barricade so that his swing is not able to complete missing the dwarf.

From the portcullis the group can see that a larger group of orcs seems to be approaching carrying a large battering ram. They are still a short distance out but approaching rapidly. Not on the map yet but incoming
