Also, you just stepped right between Kraygan and the decapitant.
A loud echo resonates in the chamber, sounding a lot like an elven hand facepalming against an elven face. EDIT: Celestial Battle Balls are up high...about 30'. Should have mentioned that. They fly, like all civilized beings.

Torgan Steelkeg |

I adjusted. Also, Wren's archons are in your way as well... Also, I don't know what Death's Demand is, so I just rolled for it. >.>

Yup- Death's Demand was just directed at Kraygan. Basically the Nameless Decapitant Lord is searching for a new name. If he is able to kill Kraygan he adopts Kraygan's name.
Torgan leaps from Malt, though he is shaken down to his core when he sees his friend bloodied and beaten down on the ground. One by One he hurls Brinya's Love at the Decapitant Lord, though only a single strike is able to make it through the undead lord's armor.
Rogzul lines up near Jorgan as he ducks and weaves around the many columns. Kraygan readies a charge himself if the Decapitant Lord drops the wall.
Wren's spell completes as many small balls of celestial rage appear near the ceiling and fire rays down at the Decapitant Lord. Two of the light rays strike his icy exterior and slowly melt away at it.
Wren SR: 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 11 + 2 + 4 = 30
Wren releases a torrent of missiles that chip and crack at the Svathurim's icy skin.
Jorgan and Spirit continue to press the assault but can't seem to find any way through the Decapitant Lord's defenses as they are just too strong.
Rime and ice begin to cover up the many wounds on the Decapitant Lord's body as he slowly heals. "You are gonna need more than that." he looks to Kraygan. "I K..K..Kray.... Kray... will walk over their corpses as you hide in the back!"
With Spirit and Jorgan standing in his way the Decapitant Lord slams into them.

Round 3, Init 27
Wren balls continue to fire rays at the Decapitant Lord, unhappily squiggling and merping in Celestial.
Ball #1:"What *is* that smell?"
Ball #2:"Is it that undead or the dwarves?"
Ball #3:"I can't tell, but it's awful!"
Ball #1:"This is why I would prefer to stay in the Elysian Fields, things smell nice there. No dwarves, no undead overgrown centaurs."
Ball #3:"Totes, mcgoats."
Ball #2:"Think they will ever let that Elf into the Fields?"
Ball #1:"Hells no, after what he done? No. Oh no."
Ball #3:"Yeah, there is no way."
Wren's face scrunches up unhappily, a single tear coming from his right eye.
Ignoring Wren's tears, Ball #1 looks past Ball #3 and to Ball #2.
Ball #1:"Hey, right ball..."
Ball #2:"Hey, left ball... " Ball#2 repeats and looks back at Ball #1.
Ball #1:"If you're the right ball, and I'm the right ball, what's in the middle?" Ball#1 looks at Ball#2, then at Ball#3.

Several more rays of light assault the Decapitant Kray Kray as Wren soaks the creature in acid.
Worried that Spirit will join Hops' demise Jorgan does all that he can to make sure Spirit stays standing.

Kraygan Steelkeg |

Kraygan wasn't even sure Wren created the wall, nor would he know that Wren could remove it. OOC is a different story, and I don't like telling other players what to do. No one died, so it's all good.
"Retreat, regroup, and maybe seek professional help for my batsh!t crazy cousins."

Torgan Steelkeg |

Agreed on that being possibly the best Readied Wall I've ever seen, hah!
As the svathurim falls, Torgan feels vindication before he rushes over to Malt, sheathing his blade and hammer. "Rogzul! Malt needs your healing magicks!" he calls out to the half orc.
Torgan has no healing magicks left.
Once Malt is brought back to consciousness, Torgan feels the soft, wet tongue lightly caress his cheek as the dwarf smiles. "You did good..." he whispers to the beast.
Turning back to the group, Torgan looks to the enemies' gear. "We can use the Dwarven Forge to resize its armor and weapon down to our size. We should store it in our Bag of Holding." he advises.
"This was likely a lieutenant of the giant general. We should retreat and heal up as my protective magicks are waning. I doubt one day of rest would allow the giant general to escape, however we can post a watch." he thinks aloud.

Wren nods at Torgan's sensible comments and is ready to retreat and rebuff, feeling that something has clicked in his understanding of something but needs some time and sleep to figure out just what.

Hmm. I don't mind Kray asking IC if Wren can do X or Y or Z, not at all. That's good RP, if you want to do that. And Wren may do it or tell you to stuff your beard up your arse or come up with another solution (like d-dooring you into charge position elsewhere) or whatever. We'll have solutions. However, Kray just saw Wren create two walls in the past fight, and saw him use a standard acting casting just before the wall of force came up that leads me to believe that he might know Wren creates walls...also, just look at the one he's creating between himself and reality. ;) I can understand if Kraygan didn't know where the Haste came from, since it was a quickened spell, but he's gotten that from Wren as well.

Rogzul tends to what he can as the group retreats from the tomb, slowly making their way back to the campsite. True to the dragon's word it was much easier passing through the camp with the giant forces disbanded. Having to retreat from the tomb before hand would have surely meant death.
After several hours the group finally makes it back and hunkers down while Jorgan hides the campsite from sight and smell. Naximarra looks on with worry as you come back extremely bruised, battered and broken. "Is it done? Did you take care of Skirkatla?"
The group slowly packs in for the night to lick their wounds. From deep within the tomb an unnatural howl is heard. One that sends shivers down your back and makes your hair stand on end, though overall the night goes without incident.

I'll try to get Wren leveled up tonight. Squats, thanks for the healing. Jorgan, do you have the wands? Kray, didn't you buy some? I 'wander' who has them and how many charges we have left.

Rogzul |

I've got a few charges left if we still need it, we also have the Sapling Rod that we can use when we camp. Babysitting all day today, will have Rog leveled either tonight or in the morning.
Rog frowns at Jorgan's suggestion. "I might prefer a living immortal giant to an undead one."

Kraygan Steelkeg |

Silently fuming, Kraygan says little on the ride back to camp. Once there, he answers the dragon with a grumpy "Hmmph! Might have come back with her immortal head if we weren't so busy fightin amongst ourselves."
He casts a baleful eye at his dwindling supply of ale, frustrated that he can't drink it in victory, worried that he'll have to save it for someone's funeral.
"Cousins, if I can't keep ye from chargin in, then will ye learn how ta do it proper? With a lance? With that steel hand Jorgan ye could likely carry one of the giant's."
Hmm. And stuff...
Kraygan knows nothing about magic and is afraid of it. He doesn't believe that Wren (or anyone in the group) is capable of the miraculous things that he has seen. In this manner I suppose he's as stubborn as Torgan is at refusing to believe in the power of tactics. ;)

"When you said this giant was immortal, was that your way of saying lich? It would be nice to know before heading back in. After all, that place is rampant with undead and if there's a lich at the end we need to be more prepared."
"I am afraid I am unable to answer that. No soul has seen or hear from Skirkatla for years until recently. Anything dug up from the past is little more than rumors heard. Older than myself even." Naximarra answers as much as she can.
Overall Wren seems to come to the same conclusion with the ittle bit of information that he has. Skirkatla was born in the Tusk Mountains and seemed destined to be a jarl from youth. Few frost giants of her generation demonstrated her degree of viciousness and cunning. Skirkatla often broke with tradition and custom, however, preferring victory by any means, whether in battle or other contests. This earned her many enemies, and she was eventually driven from her homeland southward to the Mindspin Mountains. Skirkatla founded her own tribe there, the Skirkalings, and built the village of Skirgaard high upon a mountain plateau. Yet the queen could not ward off the
passing of time, and she grew obsessed with retaining her power in her twilight years.
"Rest up. I will do what I can to make sure the camp isn't able to reorganize while you are in the Tomb." Her red scales glimmer in the moonlight.

Torgan Steelkeg |

Choosing to ignore his cousin, Torgan solemnly nods to Rogzul as he heals up Malt's wounds. "Well done, half-orc. You might be one of the more useful allies in this bunch." he says to the man. "Perhaps we should plant that sapling in the morning and harvest the fruit for our upcoming attempt to destroy the giant." he recommends.
---
In the morning, Torgan blesses himself with the power of wooden skin once more and readies his other nature's magicks, realizing that he might be able to fool himself into believing one enemy is actually a giant, the only thing he seems to be good at fighting.
"I am ready to kill the giantess." he says solemnly as he mounts Malt and pulls up next to Jorgan.
"Let's come out of this alive, brother."

Rogzul |

Rogzul frowns at the word half-orc, but nods respectfully at Torgan and takes what was meant as a compliment. "Planting in the morning is fine, hopefully there will be enough fruit to keep us fighting longer."
As they camp that night, Rogzul communes with Kashag and receives a blessing from his spirit. He is given the knowledge to further harness the memories and skills of those who guide him, and in the morning, not only is his fathers spirit with him, but so it that of one of his tribes greatest warriors. Wandering Spirit: Battle Spirit
"I am ready." He says, gripping his spear, ready to move out whenever the dwarves are.

Kraygan Steelkeg |

Ignoring Torgan ignoring him, Kraygan looks to Jorgan and Rogzul. "'Tis a shame we have all these big weapons n' the forge is so far away. Any chance that one of ye has magic, or could summon somethin, that could get us there n' back?"
@Wren: hint cough hint..
@Rogzul: normal healing would have covered the healing needed by Kraygan, Haggis, and Rog. Could save us 6 or 7 charges on the wand.
@Everyone: Kraygan adjusted his expenditures last buy/sell to account for a couple wands, but I'm not sure they made it into the party treasure list.

"'Tis a shame we have all these big weapons n' the forge is so far away. Any chance that one of ye has magic, or could summon somethin, that could get us there n' back?"
@Wren: hint cough hint..
Wren rubs his elven chin, considering Kraygan's (Ludditesque) mutterings.
"That's possible, Kraygan, but...maybe...but really not sure. We came a long way from the Cathedral...hmm...maybe...something I could try when we're done here. But yeah...maybe..." Wren ponders trying out his untested magics on Teleporting to and fro, but doesn't have the confidence in his tricks to state it could be done...and probably couldn't bring along the yakkenhorde in it's current composition.
In the morning, Wren will be ready to go, casting his day longs as the party reaches the front doors.
The double doors at the end of headless undead's chamber?

Torgan Steelkeg |

Torgan has no wands at the moment (of healing or otherwise.). If we bought some during the last downtime, then I didn't mark them down on my sheet. :(
The group arrives at the giantess's fortress, finding the doors to the area completely unguarded. The double doors to the north remain closed and the floating elf looks to keep floating down the hallway towards the room that housed the deadly Svathurim lieutenant.
"Strike straight to the heart of the forces and ignore the side doors?" he says to the elf with a shrug as he follows the birdman to the double doors in the svathurim's chamber and inspects them for traps.

Before riding out from camp Kraygan dons the belt of thunderous charging, and offers his old magic belt to anyone that can use it.
Can a yak wear a Belt of strength +4?
As the group rises up to the Tomb again, Kraygan adjusts the straps on Haggis. Whatever the dwarves have been feeding the yaks seems to have finally put some girth on his mount too. "Hey Torgan, doesn't that hammer let ye make us big? I think our mounts, even Haggis, kin handle th' increased weight now. Also, I got an extra lance here, and I really think ye should consider usin it. If Jorgan is big enough he could pro'bly carry that headless monster's lance too."
Having rummaged through the loot earlier, he gets out a potion of protection from cold and drinks it.

Normal slot rules for animal companions. Though I do believe your saddle is already taking up the belt slot.
Slowly heading back into the Tomb the group returns to the room that once contained the Decapitant Lord. The surrounding camp outside grows unnaturally quiet and more barren with each passing day.
Torgan finds no traps set within the doors and shoves them open wide to find an empty and meaningless hallway only leading to a second set of double doors.
Still finding no traps Torgan continues to open the next set of doors as it only seems logical. The floor of this spacious chamber is tiled in black stone, with a large sunken area in the middle. Four columns of white marble, each carved with the faces of giants along its length, stand in the corners of the room, supporting the vaulted ceiling overhead. Double stone doors are set in all but the north wall. A short flight of steps leads up to a raised platform to the west where doors of black stone stand in the wall.
The sunken center of the room is 2 feet lower than the edges, and the ceiling rises 30 feet overhead. Hovering near the center of the sunken floor is a dry, and hallow corpse's chest that looks more like a prison of jagged ribs. Within which is trapped a small tormented ghostly form.

Wren recognizes the creature as a Devourer. Devourers are the undead remnants of fiends and evil spellcasters who became lost beyond the farthest reaches of the multiverse. Returning with warped bodies, alien sentience, and a hunger for life, devourers threaten all souls with a terrifying, tormented annihilation. These withered corpses stand 10 feet tall but weigh a mere 200 pounds. No DR
Though uncertain what this creature is, you are positive it is one of the undead. This reveals result all undead traits. (Planes) Though uncertain what this creature is, you are positive it is not native to the material plane, though you do not believe it to be an outsider.
This creature is a devourer, a horrific undead monster that can typically be found stalking prey on the Ethereal and Astral Planes. The tiny figure in its rib cage is the trapped essence of a slain opponent upon which it feeds to sustain its unnatural life.
The devourer is named for its ability to consume an enemy's life essence. The devourer reaches out and touches its victim, that is slain instantly if their body fails to resist the devourer's horrific magic. The slain creature's essence is trapped within the figure in the devourer's ribs which takes on the features of the victim. Only the most powerful magics can free the victim, though destroying the devourer has the same effect. Luckily, a devourer can only hold a single essence at a time.
A devourer's touch drains the life energy of its victim, inflicting a negative level with ever touch. It can even do this through the use of its spectral hand spell-like ability. Devourers are also resilient to magical attacks.
As well as providing sustenance to the devourer, a trapped essence can also be used to power an array of spell-like abilities that the devourer has access to. Using the essence in this way diminishes its power and can eventually destroy it. As well as this, the devourer can also use the trapped essence to be the victim of certain spells that make it past its spell resistance, including all charms and compulsions, making these spells effectively useless against these creatures.
