About Rogzul
Rogzul was born under odd circumstances, for a half-orc, in that his Orc blood is inherited from his mother's side. She was the least favored mate of Ugzra, one of the more powerful males, and was often looking to increase her standing in the eyes of the tribe. Having overheard her chieftains desire to breed a Half-Orc tactician, she saw her opportunity, and bred with a particularly savage human slave that had been captured from the north near the realm of the Mammoth Lords.
When Ugzra discovered her he was overcome with jealous rage. He beat her and caged her in his hold, then challenged the human to one on one combat. Tired, chained, and sickly, the human managed to kill Ugzra before dying of his own wounds. In a surprising moment of wisdom, the tribal chief declared that any child born of the union would be allowed to live, to honor the strength of his parentage and would be an respected member of the tribe.
Rogzul spent the first seven years of his life being beaten and pushed around by the full orcs of the tribe, but he proved himself to be both resilient and strong, and soon became known as a capable warrior despite his human parentage, but his penchant for mumbling to himself kept him from making any friends or comrades among the tribe, earning him the nickname 'The Whisperer'. The tribal shaman however recognized this as a sign that the spirits favored Rogzul and soon took the young half-orc under his wing, training him in the ways of the spirit world.
Rogzul excelled in every task given him, despite how harsh the training was he reveled in his successes. When he was apt enough he was sent out into the wild with nothing but his spear to seek his spirit animal, a creature that his spirit could use to commune with him more easily. No one knows exactly what happened on his journey, even Rogzul finds it hard to remember, delirious and exhausted from months of traveling alone, but when he finally returned to the tribe, he seemed larger, almost a respectable size for an Orcish warrior, and a vicious hawk sat on his shoulder. It wasn't long before Rogzul took his place as Tribal Shaman, replacing his old master when he died. As the spiritual leader of the tribe he led the warriors in raids and reaped the spoils of war, and it seemed nothing could stand in the way of his tribes ascent to power.
