The Drop...:
Avizzi scrambles back into the pod as debris starts to fall, and he raises a brow--he doesn't have eyebrows anymore--at the mention of coin. "Okay, you've got me sticking around 'til then, and maybe later--haven't done much vault hunting in my day, but can't be too different from other stuff." He does start at Jellena's reaction to the electricity. "The fu-- holy sh*t, man, the f*ck was that?"


The Drop...:
Huc is equally surprised, sharing a look with the skinny Avizzi and shaking his head. "Hell if I know. It's a damn neat trick, though."

He grins down at Jellena, "Any drop you walk away from, right? Don't know how you did it, but I'm glad you're... uh... alright."

His demeanor goes back to business as he looks back at the orb, "So the orders are to hold and protect the package until you get here? You mentioned a group. They here on Pandora? Or will they be coming with you?"

He lumbers to the pod's hatch as he switches his armor's sensors to active search, watching the debris, the area around the crash site, and looking to where he thinks he heard the other impact.

What does the area look like? Any obvious threats? (i mean, other than falling objects). Any non-obvious threats?

Aannra runs to the pod, Veldens shots taking out the snakes still moving before she even gets to them.

She is unarmed but you can see the shimmer of some kind of defiance shielding on her. Mind you, you can see she is running through a grass valley full of snakes. Behind her a man in full battle armor and someone's shooting with very high accuracy the snakes still alive that cone close to her.

She waits for Bishnu to catch up with her so they can talk about what to do next

So just for clarity, would Huc see either of you coming? I see Aannra made a stealth check (which beat Huc’s earlier Perception check). Is Bishnu approaching via stealth? Or just marching on over?

Lol. This is Huc’s kind of stealth! Also, should I be waiting for DM to officially connect the spoilers? Or can I assume Huc sees you. Though I don’t really think Huc/Avizzi have gotten a description of what’s around the pod.

The Drop… + anyone else close enough:
Huc brings his massive weapon to bear, holding it out in front of himself, wielding it like an auto-cannon. ”I got two contacts incoming,” he says over his shoulder. ”Small elf woman and a soldier of some sort, by the look of him. These part of your team, Five?” The quick look he shoots Avizzi says ’Be ready. Could be trouble’.

His face-plate drops into place.

As you get closer, you get a better look at the pod survivor in the hatch. He’s a few inches under six feet tall and nearly as wide as he is tall… heavily armed and armored in heavy infantry power armor with a truly massive sword/cannon hybrid weapon leveled at you. His face is covered by a face-plate, and when Aannra’s voice pops into his head, he cocks it to the side… keeping the weapon where it is.

When he speaks, it’s the booming, shout of a drill sergeant muffled by his faceplate. ”We’re doing just fine! But given the day we’ve had, you’re gonna have to tell us who you are before I can let you get closer. And spoken word will do just fine… get outta my head.”

"Got a bead on the big guy with the gun." He let's them know when the big man pulls out his gun. But then, as Bish turns around, and Aannra runs on, he drops back into clipped tones. "Bish, Aan off reservation, repeat, droid off reservation. Min time run to second crash site. Reverse and cover, Bish."

Huc keeps his gun leveled at the retreating figures. "Huh." He looks back to the sphere for a second, "Hey, Five! I got a skinny little elf girl and a human male soldier checking our wreckage out. You know anything about that?"

Just giving Five an opportunity to connect some dots for us if he's so inclined. :)


Wow, I wake up late today, and an explosion of posts! Great work everyone, I love how this group can work even without me, the best group that can make it happen. In this game you will find me very relaxed and go with the flow to make the game fun, exciting, and Borderlands True!

Speaking of fire the other ship explodes in several different spots and doors open. Marines in power armor just like Hucs begin to pour out of the ship with loaders of all kinds.

The Drop…:
Jellena is still out of it, but looking much more healthy, color is coming back to her skin and she just rests.

"If Jellena was able to pilot the pod correctly, yes at the angle it would need, you would have crashed hard, then you should be around my group. Look for an Elf named Velden, another elf named Aannra, a warrior in armor named bishnu, a large cat humanoid named Jak, a glowing tattooed human named Ida and Elo. I am almost out of juice for the day, have a good one and I hope to see you soon. Entirely possi..." The orb stops glowing.

Jellena asks, "Would you pass the orb to me."

The Drop…:
Huc turns back to the hatch opening, leaning out—his face-plate sliding back to reveal a blunt, wide face as scarred as the drop-ship—as he roars out to the retreating people. ”HOY! WAIT! VELDEN!”

The massive weapon remains where it is, though he looks slightly less prepared to use it on you.

Then his eyes slide past her to the soldiers. ”Uh… guys… marines are pouring from that other ship like pus from a pimple. What’s the likelihood that they’re just here to make sure we’re alright?”

Velden moves behind cover and aims at the marines pouring out of the ship, aiming at whichever one looks to be their leader. At the first round coming down range at Aannra or Bishnu, he'll let fly a flurry at that person.

Huk, when you yelled out it should not have been spoilered.

The marines and loaders are basically just running out and away from the ship that is exploding right now. You can see them collecting around a bend from their ship. This takes about 10 minutes.

Velden:
You are not for sure what is going on. Being out near the crypt.

Huc:
You are not for sure, but they likely are, why else would a group of marines be on Pandora?

In the pod:
Those in the Pod are just recovering at this moment as Huc blocks the doorway.

Velden not only catalogues the weapons that the marines have, he also notes the rank marks on their breast plates, looking for the Marine with the highest rank mark. He then carefully aims at that Marine in case they start sending things down range.

"Hey you got any more juice?" Jellena tugs on Huc, even if he does she starts searching and finds a defibrillator, she turns it on and just absorbs the energy.


Pod:
”Sh!t!” Huc grunts, taking in the soldiers. ”Avizzi! Jellena! We got soldiers incoming, and we don’t wanna get caught stuck in this tin can.”

His face-plate thunks back down as he grabs up the recharging Jellena, dragging the defibrillator even as she recharges. Let me know if this becomes an issue… I’m hoping Huc can tough it out.

If he’s able to (given that he’s trying to drag Jellena and her electric charge), Huc steps out of the pod and around to the side where Bishnu and Aannra are taking cover. He looks at Aannra, still cautious, ”You Velden? And Bishnu? If so, who’s your employer… I’m thinking we can help each other out with our new marine infestation.”

”Good enough for me. Five said we should find you guys,” Huc says from behind his face-plate, which then swivels to the swarm of marines. ”And I have no clue how many of the marines made it out, but something defensible sounds good.”

Huc shouts into the pod, ”Slim! Get yer skinny ass out here! I got Jellena. We’re moving out!”

The face-plate swivels back to Aannra and Bishnu, ”I’m Huc! Now let’s go make a nuisance of ourselves.”

Avizzi's been sitting by, shaking his head, wondering how he got caught up in all this. I had rules, you know? Take certain kinds of jobs, watch my own back, keep careful, and then it all goes out the window and this happens. It's all Joe's fault, I bet. Assh*le.

He looks up and nods at Huc's comment on soldiers, instantly darting out of the pod and around to one side to get cover--where he nearly runs into an elf female and a human man. He brings the knives up in a defensive position until he hears Huc talk to them, and the man replies. "Okay, Bishnu, Velden? I don't know what the f*ck's going on, but we've got soldiers on our ass, and I don't like that. In fact, it kinda pisses me off. So we're getting the f*ck out of this, right? Bugging out hardcore? 'Cause that'd be my plan."

She puts what she finds in her bag of holding, then jumps back out, ready to head off with the others,

As you make a quick scavenge of what is left in the pod, you find a healer's kit, two head sets, three echo's (advanced form of radio (without head sets cannot communicate much), personal recording device, and life reader), a dagger, flares, but the rest is lost in the wreckage.

The marines are more focused on making camp and salvaging what they can. A few of them are watching you through binoculars or scopes.

Velden has eyes that rival many scopes.

Velden:
You can tell one of the snipers has his rifle aimed at you, though he smiles and just waits. He recognizes that you see him then makes the signal of truce, waiting for your reply.

"Velden says they are at our 12 and may be hostile. So they may shoot if we run. It's about 300' I can do the run in say 8 to 10 seconds, If I go 1st and if they shoot at me we will know they are hostile, once there I can give Velden a the other coms set I have and we can then coordinate.

Annra has Inertial-armor +4AC running now she brings up, Thicken Skin +2NA 1pp Making her AC 26, then Minor Metamorphosis, Speed +10' 2mins 1pp again. she speed is 40'x4=160' a round, 10 seconds to make 300' or just under 2 rounds to make the distance, the are flatfooted for the 1st so if her Inti beats theirs she will be there before they have a chance to fire. here's hoping

GM:
Velden grins at the sniper. Then gives a signal for 'truce' and 'Spotted Enemy Leader', just so the sniper knows he's got the other side dialed in too.

Aannra, as she watches Velden, see's him make the signs for 'truce' and 'spotted enemy leader', but he doesn't seem to be making them at her. Finally, he drops an arrow about 15 feet from Aannra to make sure he has her attention.

Enemy request truce. Move out. Keep to cover. May be trick.
