*****Round 7*****
York, knocked one of the orcs out with one well hit punch.
*****Round 8*****
The orcs 'run' away from those that look big or mean...
They all double move around, with weapons out, the orc archers have short swords out, as the others have two handed axes out.
*****Round 9*****
24 'Fire' Giant*
23 CL4P-TP
21 Five*
19 Swiftstab*
18 Purple Crystals*
17 York
16 Jack
14 Orc archers
12 Frozen One*
Atlas Service Bot*
12 Elo
7 Balthe
6 Johnny
4 Orc Bashers
No one can see what the Giant is doing anymore...
Five continues to drive...
The crystals quickly retreat back into their pod.
CL4P-TP
Is this 'fire giant' one of these hostile targets we have to kill if all it is doing is walking away? How is the computer determining who is a hostile character? What about 5 and the others who came in the truck?
Despite the fact that the orcs are running scared, all CL4P-TP sees is a bunch of bandits running directly at him, bandits he just momentarily attacked before... Overcome by panic he lets out a screech and flees. Withdraw action.
"AIEEEEEEE!!!!"
Unsure which way to flee to he ends up running in a circle!
Round 9, initiative 23.
Balthe Synder
Rd 9
Balthe moves into a flanking position, tumbling the last 5 feet.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Once there he swings his pick with a vengeance.
1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 1 + 2 = 25 fpr 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 + 1 + (6) = 14
Jack Iwamatsu
Round 9
Since Balthe has moved out of the way Jack takes the opportunity to charge one of the exposed orcs. Ending up flanking with Balthe, his sword coming down to try and take a big chunk out of this orc.
-2 to my AC
attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
damage: 3d6 + 18 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) + 18 = 30
Jack's blade narrowly misses the orcs jugular however this might not save it after such a hefty swing.
York
Round 8: York smiles as all the orcs flee, and unconcerned with insects, he lets them go. He moves towards the center of the room in order to get a better view of what is present, and see if there is anything else of which he should be concerned. Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Round 9: Seeing the port compartment completely on fire, York picks up one of the long crates in the center of the room and takes it towards the opening in the starboard chamber. Emerging from a hole in the side of the damaged shuttle, he looks around, taking stock of the fighting and the situation out here. Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
GM Wolf
Quoted: Is this 'fire giant' one of these hostile targets we have to kill if all it is doing is walking away? How is the computer determining who is a hostile character? What about 5 and the others who came in the truck?
Between Jack and Balthe, they taken down the orc bandits as if they were straw. Down they fall in a rain of blood. Jack your attack misses the jugular, but it goes right through the chest. Swift action needed: Strength Check DC 8 to pull blade free from the corpse.
Outside the orcs seem to be running, and getting mowed down.
Balthe Synder
rd 10
seeing all his foes fall, Balthe double moves around the vehicle, while loading his crossbow (swift action), he is prepared to engage the orc archer.
Balthe Synder
just viewed the map. I didnt realize everything was dead. The gobbo attacked my foes, so I guess no one. I will retcon above. Also not that it mattered I wouldnt have hit the ocean with those rolls.
EDITED ABOVE
Jack Iwamatsu
@Party: Where is the Claptrap that we need to raise our hands too? as all the enemies other than the giant, have gone have fled or are dead. We don't know where the giant has gone IC, I think I'll raise my hand to show I'm not an enemy as soon as I know where the claptrap is. So should we raise our hands, can we not to stop the countdown and our imminent deaths?
As for the strength check I can't fail that so I draw the sword out the ground. Why do I need a check and spend a swift for a successful attack on an enemy anyway? That just seems antagonistic. Would you get York to dislodge his fist from the corpse as a strength check if he hit an enemy and killed it?
Johnny Luckseed
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Johnny stops his song at the sight of the orc hewing.. The buff lingers for 2 rounds longer "Anyone need heals? Man you guys are stout with your blades.."
I think pulling the blade was more for flavor.. Regardless GMs game, Gms call imo..
GM Wolf
Jack, next time if your entire post is OOC, please put it in the discussion thread, it helps separating OOC and IC. That makes sense Jack to say OOC, though you don't even know about that, just continue as if you think it will explode soon, until told otherwise.
Elo.
Round 7
Elo winces and runs over to hoist the sleeping feline female up on his shoulders. "Sorry!"
Round 8
Running outside, Elo lays her down on the ground and looks around.
Round 9
Elo sprints west to the other side of the ship and ducks through a breach in the hull
Round 10
Peering around, she hefts open another cryo chamber.
GM Wolf
Elo, please put a Green S, where you put the catfolk. Looking at the cryochambers in Section B, the one before you has metal shafts through the lid blood is splattered on the shafts and inside of the lid. The other Four pods on the North wall are all open and nothing appears to be in them. Two of the cryo chambers directly South of your position looks to be shattered with blood splatter and partially destroyed. The furthest cryochamber on the South wall is open, then the next one seems to not have any of the lights on, with the lid slightly broken.
Swiftstab
With nothing hostile to be seen, Swiftstab wobbles over to the truck. Tired and with aching muscles he climbers on board of the truck. Let the big guys do the heavy lifting, he thinks I have had a rough enough trip as it is. He moves over to the big box to see if he can figure out how to open it.
Jack Iwamatsu
Round 10
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Jack looks around for the Claptrap that spoke early about stopping the self destruct protocol and raises his hand for it.
CL4P-TP
It looks like it is time for me to do my duty :P
Claptrap stops panicing when he realizes that all the bandits have been taken care of and troddles over to the group (move action)
"They are all dead! Congragulations! Protocol dictates that once everyone raises their hand and proclaims "Claptrap rules, Bandits drool" the ship will avert self-destruction, and I am all for stopping the boomy part! Everyone High-Five! If you see anyone, pass on the message! Or dismember them, that works too!"
He then troddles off into the ship to go look for survivors, humming a tune to himself as he goes. 60ft move speed is nice!
CL4P-TP
How much time was there before it exploded again? And I take it that the fire giant in the rear is not going to be interrupted, so I doubt he will actually know about it.
GM Wolf
That would be round 10 for CLAP-TP, telling you something important.
*****Round 10*****

The red lights on the outer and inner parts of the shuttle continue to shine and flicker on and off.
Five Arelian
******Round 11******
Five looks around and does not see anyone to help him, he grabs a box and throws it into the back.
Balthe Synder
RD 11
Balthe checks for any sign of ambush that the orc might be leading him into 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 and seeing none Balthe charges the orc archer, flaming pick waving through the air.
1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 + 2 = 19 for 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 + (4) = 13
dude what is up with these terrible fricking rolls in all my games!
CL4P-TP
So my guy takes off at a run through the shuttle, making perception checks in each room, specifically looking for anyone alive that would need to raise their hands. 60ft ms, x4=240ft movement!!
room 1 perception check: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Room 2 perception check: 1d20 ⇒ 6
If he can see five through the hole in the wall, he will veer over towards him, otherwise he will continue along through the middle of the shuttle.
(if he spots Five) "Hello random stranger attempting to steal Federation property! Its a beautiful day for a jog is it not? If you would be so kind as to raise your hand and proclaim "Pandora is peaceful and homely" the shuttle will de-activate its self-destruct mechanism! Pass on the word!"
(If he fails to spot Five, he will continue along the middle of the shuttle)
Room 3 perception check: 1d20 ⇒ 7
(assuming I dont auto fail or sum-such) "Hello escaped convict(s)! What a relaxing day it is today! Why earlier I even managed to fix that pesky generator in Radiator Ridge! Now if you would all raise your hand we can keep it a relaxing day! Now lets see if I can shut down this computer!"
Five Arelian
*** Round 12 ***
"Yup, another annoying pesky service bot, Pandora is peaceful and homely, Ha! Ain't that a joke." Though Five raises his hand to mock the bot, and looks around.
"Well what do I call you? and why is the alarm not off?" Five continues to put two more crates into the truck's back.
"Besides, if it is going to be vaporized, I might as well use it."
GM Wolf
******Round 12******
Absorb...
Freeze...
Service bot... crawls into Section A
The Thruster begins to slow down, as if the power was cut off from it.
Raised hand: Jack, Balthe, Five, Frozen One
Not raised hand: Elo, York, Swiftstab, Johnny
Swiftstab, that would be a disable device check, -2 for no tools.
CL4P-TP
"Thank you for co-operating! I am CL4P-TP, but you may call me by my locally designated name, 'Claptrap'. I still have to inform the rest of the people in the area as to how to prevent the newest creation of a miniature sun and by all means, help yourself! The Federation loves to add people to its Hit-List! I shall inform them that you said Hi!"
And with that the cheery little bot turns around and zips back into the shuttle, spotting Elo on his way to the front and pausing briefly to say "Greetings escaped convict of female origins! Gimme Hi-Five!" If she returns it I say "Thankyou! You just assisted in saving the shuttle! I must now be on my way and thank you for not dismantling me!" he then continues toward the cockpit.
Once in the cockpit he looks around, specifically trying to find either an intercom or a computer console that he might use to disable the self-destruct.
perception check: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11
Knowledge: Engineering check if needed: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34
I will then take the rest of my movement towards the console/intercom and end my turn.
Note, I have moved a total of 145 feet so far out of a run of 240, with 2 quick pauses to say/look for something.
Round 12, initiative 23.
Swiftstab
round 11
"Eej short stuff!" Swiftstab yells to Johny waving his hand to get the halflings attention "Yeah you blondy! Got any tools on ya? I could use a hand up here!
He gestures at the big box next to him. He then turns to Jack, as he realizes that this is a pretty high truck.
"Catman, could ya lift up my blond friend up here? Just raise him up here and I'll help him in."
Jack Iwamatsu
Round 11
Hmm.. why are they calling each other short.. they're about the same height. No matter, let's see what he can do.
Jack places his hands together prompting Johnny to put a foot in he can give a leg up. "The name is Jack by the way, what's yours?" Jack asks the goblin as he does what the goblin asked.
GM Wolf
*Note* You can only run in a straight line! So clappy that will take you two rounds. Round 12 & 13. Once you get up there you recognize the service bot from before and he/it/she is manning the given console you were looking for. There is a strange man in a black and blue outfit, with hands and arms raised to the flames, it seems like they are being drawn to him.
Raised hand: Jack, Balthe, Five, Frozen One, Swiftstab,
Not raised hand: Elo, York, Johnny
Elo.
Round 10
Elo runs across to the occupied cryo chamber. "Well... I was never one for the safe missions."
Round 11
Grabbing the lid, she grunts as she hefts open the lid.
Swiftstab
"Name be Swiftstab." the goblin "The hobo's got me and put me in metal bird, but then bird fell and I got out."
He extends his arms for Johny to grab after his lift, waiting.
GM Wolf
******Round 13******
Absorb...
Freeze...
Service bot... punches in on the buttons on the console...
The Thruster stops. The fires all seem to be going out.
The left engine compartment explodes... Not next to anyone really... Five needs a Reflex save... 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 Reflex save DC 15. Luckly that he dodges behind his truck as the explosion goes off, he does not take any shrapnel, and take half of the fire damage. 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
Anyone else outside during round 13, on the South side needs to make the Reflex save too.
Five Arelian
"Hey, can anyone give me a hand with these heavy crates, otherwise I am just going to drive off!" Five yells, hoping to get some help.
Jack Iwamatsu
Sorry that I've not been posting yesterday, I was waiting to see if Johnny would do something.
Round 12
Good to meet you swift. I don't think the countdown has stopped. I suggest we drive off if nothing has happened in the next 10 or so seconds. He says hesitantly.
Jack moves into to the hole York is coming out of and grabs any cargo he sees and brings the back to the truck. Over this turn and the next. Run in round 12, round 13 pick up the box as standard action. Move action walk out.
I would help five but I doubt I can hear him, since I didn't hear the claptrap from the same place. Though I think the NPCs are already doing everything that needs to be done over there.
Swiftstab
Round 12
Seeing how Johny seems unable to post at the moment, I take the liberty of auto-pilotting him here
As Jack raises Johny up, the little challenger of Luck raises his hands to grab Swiftstabs wrists as he helps him into the truck. He rummages through his pack searching for something
"Name's Johnny, Johnny Luckseed. Not Short-stuff 'llright?" A Tblock & tackle as well as a rope is tossed aside, followed by some odd tube-with-a-hook. "'Sides, I'm clearly taller then you!" he proclaims as he hands over the thing he had been looking for.
Swiftstab grabs the set of tools handed to him "Jokin' surely?" He asks as he turns to the crate. "Any nitwit can see I'm easily half a head bigger!"
He begins to tinker on the strange runes on the locking mechanism of the big box disable device: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
"A big head I'll give ya," Johnny retorts as he shoves a dagger in between the edge Swiftstab points him "But that won't make you taller!"aid another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
DisDev 32+2 aid another = 34
A soft click is heard as the lock gives way
"Big head and nimble fingers!" Swiftstab grins to his new friend
Balthe Synder
RD 12
If Bathe was able to hear Five he would make his way to him. He runs to the other end of the shuttle trying to get to Five to help
GM Wolf
Johnny runs over to Jack for the lift up and grabs the hands of the goblin. "Thanks guys, did I hear right we are suppose to raise our hand so we don't go boom?" He raises his hand, then goes with the goblin to the crate. I like Swiftstab's interpretation better, but we will go with both, for they cover all the bases.
Yup Jack, anyone on the other side would not hear him without a Perception DC 17 check.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 Perception Check Balthe. So Balthe quickly moves over to the other side.
Balthe as you are running around the shuttle, once you get to Round 14, Five is actually driving up and slows down. "I am not sticking around for the fireworks, jump in!"
Five Arelian
***Round 13***
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Perception Check, He sees the female with the tats from before in the shuttle.
Five puts the truck in drive and pulls up to the ground hole in the shuttle and yells at Elo, "Hey, jump in we are out of here!"
_____________________________________________________________
***Round 14***
He moves forward, slows down so Balthe can jump in and jets off.
Later when jetting off with Balthe and possibly others, "I sure hope they can get the other truck started. I am not for sure how many more seconds are left."
Elo.
Round 12
Elo hefts the fellow up onto her shoulders and carries him out of the shuttle.
Round 13
Easily carrying the fellow, she runs over to the truck and dumps him on the ground. "Do we bring these fellows with us or leave them to make their own way?"
Five Arelian
"Just bring him along, give him the benefit of the doubt, since the shuttle is about to blow!" Five is frazzled at her action of just dropping him.
Poor Kreig, LOL!
CL4P-TP
So my rounds 12 and 13 were spent running. Also, Ha poor Kreig! Makes me wonder how many other NPCs we failed to rescue ^-^
on round 14, I head over to the intercom, and if it is working I start it up and make a short speech:
"Greetings residents of this exploding shuttle! Protocol dictates that if everyone raises their hands and proclaims "God save the Queen!" the shuttle will advert the self-destruct sequence and my circuitry will be saved! From my vantage point I detect that currently 2 lifeforms are non-compliant with Protocol and the ship has 15 seconds until explosion. Enjoy!"
With that he heads over to the Atlas bot to see if there is anything he can assist it with.
