Balthe Synder
Balthe takes time to help with the food in the morning, though he is not particularly good at such things.
Balthe takes a close look at the new vehicle, then at Swiftstab.
I think I will be riding with Five. I am not the tinkering type.
Jack Iwamatsu
For the few days Jack is making the turret he spends some time here and there inspecting the Jar.
Considering I have the time, I could take 20. If you feel that's too much I'm more than happy taking 10 on Knowledge (psi). It'll be total 30 or 20 respectively.
While at breakfast Jack rolls his shoulders back and says "I would like a little adventure in my life yes, I shall ride with the small ones. Provided we don't crash and I go through the windscreen, I'm sure we'll be fine." Jack chuckles.
"So how far out is this town?"
Five Arelian
"A few days travel, depending on how we travel." Five says responds to Jack.
Elo.
Elo helps out with the construction and maintenance of the group's new home, and spends her free time practicing firing psychic energy arrows into dead trees.
Five Arelian
Five finishes his plate of food, then packs up his truck, making it ready for passengers. He will do a prep cycle then start up the truck and move it to the entrance of the town.
CL4P-TP
As everyone is getting ready to leave there is no sign of the little robot that came and rescued you all from certain danger. Was he staying here? Where he had gone was a mystery.
He is hiding out in the back of your truck, humming to himself and getting all his stuff set up in and around the area of the workbench. You ever seen WALLIE? Ya, it looks like that already.
What does he do with all this junk?
Jack Iwamatsu
"Alright then, seems to be a wrap here for at least the moment." He nods at the group. Then packs away the things he thinks need to be hidden and get into Swiftstab's truck ready to hold onto dear life.
Five Arelian
"All aboard!" Five yells out the window after hitting his horn. There is five seats in his truck, and the pickup trunk. Five and Blathe are in it so far, feel free to say where you sit or want to sit.
The trucks zoom off heading towards more cliffs in the distance. The sheriff reels up the drawbridge once both vehicles are away.
Five follows the cliffs to the North, after a few hours of travel, Five slows down and stops near a strange boulder with several other boulders on top of each other. Five goes around touching the cliff wall.
Swiftstab
Swiftstab hops onto the pillow that is strapped on the small box in the drivers seat and grabs the steering wheel. Johnny takes up the centre chair and pulls a chain that dangles from the roof.
BOORPBOOOOOOOOORP howls the horn
"All aboard the Gobmobil, adventure and treasure await!" yells the little goblin.
"Eej beautiful ladies, who of you wants to rub the lucky halfling?" Johnny asks "We got one more spot up front, or two if either of you wants me on her lap. I'm lightweight and a gentleman you know."
Ida
After spending her morning eating a light breakfast and watching the goings-on of the others, Ida hops in the truck with Five. Listening to the halfling, she chuckles. Elo, if you'd like, there's still room in here for you,she says, patting the seat next to her.
Before we leave, she puts the entirety of her truck in her collective, but unless the other truck is keeping within 120 feet at all times, it won't be very helpful to keep them in the collective, anyway. The connection is severed as soon as the limit is reached.
Swiftstab
Swiftstab and Johnny make a check-up around the truck to ensure everything is tied down and nailed tight.
"Someones been sitting on my bench" growled the goblin
"Someones been sitting on my bench too" proclaimed the halfling
"Someones been zipping in our truck and we can see their tracks" they recited together
They stepped forward and noticed something up high
"Someones been touching my hammock" gruffed the goblin
"Someones been touching my hammock too" complained the halfling
"And filled it up with junk!"
The pair reached the big square open crate and peeked in.
"Someones been storing in this crate" grumbled the goblin
"Someones been storing in this crate too" pronounced the halfling as he opened the long one below the timber supply.
"Someones been storing in this crate aswell" sneered the goblin as he opened the one doubling as side-table for the workbench.
"And he'sh still in it!" he bellowed as he stared angrily into the lens of the maintenance bot eye.
He grabbed some tool from the tool-board and heaved it high, about to smash the intruders lens when suddenly something stopped him dead on the spot.
"Whohohohoooo" he marvelled "Such pretty thing! Where did you come from?" He lifted something out of the box, right next to the claptrap. It was a shiny orb with a dark swirly smoke inside.
"Forget the orb," Johnny said "What kind of a tool is that your holding?"
Swiftstab looked at the tool he had grabbed. It wasn't one of his. In fact, he never saw anything quite like it. "Wowsers... Are these yours?" He asked the little gearbox cowering in the now pretty much stuffed table-crate. His beady red eyes gleamed with something that was either admiration, awe, anger or aggravation... it was kinda hard to tell with him.
Jack Iwamatsu
Before heading out Jack explains what he needs to about the Eridium to Swiftstab. I believe the info is in a PM
"This will be useful later if we make some weapons and armour out it. In a pinch I am sure we can make it into a bomb. I wouldn't want to expended too much of them in explosive fireworks but we shall see."
Other than Jack just stretches for the morning and practices a few swings before joining Swift and Johnny.
Now to flip a coin, will I get badly hurt today or will I climb out the wreckage without a scratch. Or does the coin land on its side and we don't crash at all. Never know till we try!
Balthe Synder
Balthe hops out of the truck and heads to swifts truck and bangs on the back. Stop messing around in there! Lets move!
Balthe pulls out his shock crystal and attaches it to the the crossbow part of his bowgun and almost drops it when the whole thing flashes electricity.
Gobo Horde
Ahahahahah! That was well done indeed!
Completely oblivious to the goblins facial expressions ("emotions are not part of our core programming!") He barrels past and over to the workbench. "And these are my whirleygigs and dodads! You see, I am trying to make these gerandes more Boomful! I figure I just combine them with those explosives I have and we can get a real zingger!"
"Explosives?" Jonny asked warily.
"Yes. Explosives! Please do try and keep up. Your prossessing speed is quite lacking! Might I suggest an upgrade?"
He then indicates towards the hammocks filled with what you had thought was junk. You realise what it actually is with horror.
"Here we have TNT. And we have some blasting caps and there is some dentonators and we even have a land mine! There should also be some gernades and nitrogliceren in there!"
Frankly, you are amazed you haven't been blown sky high yet.
The little robot goes back to the workbench and continues working on his gernade. With a hammer. While whistling...
Swiftstab
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Johnny asked
"Yeazzz... but where are we going to find a druid at this hour?" Swiftstab replied
"Gearbox, what kind of things can you make? Other then explosives apparently"
Then Swiftstab hears the tapping and replies to Balthe: "Ish Five back already? Cuz'we're good ta go when he is!"
CL4P-TP
Whoops! I posted with the wrong alias!
And whats with the druid? That one went over my head ^-^
Sadly, I cant actually create all that much... When I get to lvl 3 I intend on getting more craft skills :D
"I can create Thunderstones and alchemists fire and sunrods and bombs and anti-toxin and poison and other things! I can also repair all sorts of machinery and vehicles and mechanical equipment like motors or generators! I know that I have some databanks around here somewhere that hold information on other fields but I would have to find them first. Is there anything in particular that you would like me to craft?"
Actually I think that I would quite like the idea of crafting! I wouldnt mind at all in becoming good at it, anything in particular that I should focus on? I know that you mentioned poisons before and I believe that at as levels go on, I could create some mean ones :D
BTW the databanks that I am referring to is simply me levelling up :P
Swiftstab
"An alchemist! Perfect!" the green face grins broad.
"You see," Johnny explains "Swift and I have been discussing the trouble with the bandits and all, and we decided to start a 'security' company. We specialize in traps and such to protect private properties, outposts and towns. And with Balthe, Elo and Jack we would have a hunting squad to eliminate bandit cells for bounty. Jack and I can design traps, but with an alchemist on board, we could create some very special things."
"Bear claws with alchemist fire; poison-tipped spike-traps; Acidsplash showers!" the goblin marvelled.
We are still hoping on finding us a druid to grow bramble fences and accelerate the growth of poisonous plants and deadly plant creatures. We found a few nasty ones in this botanic manual about Pandora's nature. Though they might prove difficult to obtain. Are going to need air-tight crate-trap to capture and transport them.
Jack Iwamatsu
Checking in, don't have much to add just waiting until we depart.
Jack nods at Swifts ideas and wonders how deadly some things can be made.
GM Wolf
"All aboard!" Five yells out the window after hitting his horn. There is five seats in his truck, and the pickup trunk. Five and Blathe are in it so far, feel free to say where you sit or want to sit.
The trucks zoom off heading towards more cliffs in the distance. The sheriff reels up the drawbridge once both vehicles are away.
Five follows the cliffs to the North, after a few hours of travel, Five slows down and stops near a strange boulder with several other boulders on top of each other. Five goes around touching the cliff wall.
Just re-posting this since many of you missed it. :)
You are now several hours away from Radiator Ridge.
CL4P-TP
Yup :) Me, Swift and Johnny are at the cliffs when they jump out and go to the back, where I am at, but we are at the cliffs. It sounds like Elo realizes that as well.
Swiftstab
it is late in the afternoon and Swiftstab and Johnny hang back in the truck cabin watching Five as he goes about his business along the cliffside.
"Think he's looking for a hidden passage?"
Swift was chewing on a piece of dried beef. letting his feet rest on the steering wheele
"Dunno, maybe he gotta take a leak?" Johnny threw out the last remains of a big juicy fruit. It had a pear form and was green on the outside, but the meaty part had been hell-red. The last remains of their lunch.
Ida
I missed the second half of the post, apparently. I don't remember seeing it, but it's definitely there.
Ida gets out, folling Five and watching him from a 10-20 back, following along as he feels his way along the cliff.
Not going stealthily, just giving space.
GM Wolf
Five finds what he was looking for a rock to push in. Once that is done a large chunk of rock just lifts. "There it is, now we can get these trucks to a safe place!" He exclaims, then he gets back into the truck and waits for his passengers to get back in. Driving his truck through the now looming portal. After a few minutes he stops the truck, with a dead end just before him.
"Everyone out, grab your gear, we are hoofing it from here on out. Balthe if you don't mind being in front, please take the ladder up."
Five points to a ladder that leads up this cavern at least 100 feet.
Post what position you are climbing, 1 - 10. Everyone on your way up the ladder is in bad shape, at least once one of the bars breaks free from your weight. Reflex DC 10, and 1d100 to see how far up you get before it happens to you. Anyone below you can do a Dex check DC 10 to grab you, and a climb check DC 15 to secure both of you.
Balthe Synder
Sounds like a plan Balthe heads up first.
1d100 ⇒ 78 and 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Balthe almost makes it to the top before a rung breaks, he easily shifts his weight and makes it to the top. He immediately readies his bowgun and pick.
percep 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Ida
Ida will go up 3rd.
Rung: 1d100 ⇒ 98
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Ida yelps as one of the last few rungs falls free, but as she bangs her knee on the rung above, her foot also lands on the rung below, and after a second or so of recovery, she resumes climbing, easily avoiding the gap.
Five Arelian
Five will go up 2nd.
1d100 ⇒ 68
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Reflex DC 10
After almost 3/4 the way up the ladder one of the rungs breaks apart. Five completely looses his footing and begins to fall. He is started by the fact of falling, though his feather fall spell quickly enacts and he begins to float down.
About 30 feet down he gets back onto the ladder, Climb 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 DC 10. He successfully gets a hold of the ladder and continues to climb now likely in the 5th or 6th position.
"Wow, that could have been really bad."
Swiftstab
Swift climbs up right after Ida, with little trouble. "Ooh, pretty view up here!" he exclaims as they rise.
1d100 ⇒ 92
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
"Whoops! Sorry, broke one."
He has a little trouble grabbing past to the next, since his arms are somewhat shorter, but he manages.
1d100 ⇒ 4 +92 = 96
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
"Wowsers! 'Nother one!"
then he reaches 98 "Eh, this one I didn't do."
1d100 ⇒ 47 +96 = over 100 ft
Heaving himself up for the last time, he crawls over the edge.
Elo.
Elo climbs up right after Swift, swarming up it enthusiastically if not quickly.
1d100 ⇒ 55 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Halfway up, Elo's foot goes through a rung, causing her to hug the ladder for dear life for a few moments before she reasserts herself. She points it out to those below, then moves on and up.
CL4P-TP
Claptrap paces around at the bottom and you can almost get a sense of worry from the little robot when he squeaks up rather quietly
"Ummm... does anyone have a rope? I'm light!.. "
Climbing is not part of my core programming! Nope! It is not! Not happening!
If he can't get a little help he will give in and follow, in 10th place, but he seems quite scared of the ladder.
GM Wolf
Jack pulls out some rope, ties it to Claptrap, then ties it too his waist.
"How about stairs?" Jack jokes.
He then climbs with excellent strength, and finds that one rung, expecting it soon after Elo stumbles herself, about 1d100 ⇒ 59, 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 also nimbly recovers.
Did anyone invite Troas the Frozen One along, or is he staying with the trucks too? Feel free to invite him as if you were still down at the bottom.
Balthe Synder
I sure didn't :(
When Jack reaches the top Balthe helps him haul Clap trap the rest of the way up.
There you go Toolbox
CL4P-TP
"Stairs are definitely NOT part of my core programming! That is climbing AND jumping!
He then unties himself and goes to over to where Five is, humming a bit as he goes, looking a lot more cheerful and without a word of thanks.
Dont mean to be rude, I just figure that the social graces of "Please" and "Thanks" is beyond the little Toolbox :)
Balthe Synder
I am up top or I would invite him
Balthe advances quietly ready, to fire.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 stealth
Swiftstab
Swiftstab definitely wouldn't invite him, he hates the cold aura. Also, did you mean scrag? If it is not a typo, then please do give some description once they come in sight. And I take it you rolled secretly for perception checks and we must simply wait and see if Ida and Elo inform us, correct?
Swift rubs his arms a bit and recovers his breath from the climb.
"No trucks allowed in town I guess? Wonder how they do trade. Perhaps must make tackle pole for lifting goods up here."
Ida
Ida would have no reason to invite him.
Ida rushes to make sure everyone is in her collective. Careful, Balthe. If we can just move around without disturbing it, we might be able to not disrupt the rest of them. There are bound to be more in that nest.
Swiftstab: Skags[Link]
Balthe Synder
Balthe grunts and pauses.
Do you think we are stealthy enough all around? If any of us is, I dont know made of metal and wheels, we aren't moving quietly.
Ida
We may not move quietly, but distance trumps stealth in many cases. If you insist upon fighting with them, however, I'll try and keep everyone in good shape.
Five Arelian
"Huh? What are you two talking about?" Five asks looking between Ida and Balthe.
Yes, I rolled secretly, easier for me at the time.
Ida
Ida points the skag nest out to Five. "There's only the one outside, but I wouldn't doubt more are hiding out inside."
Five Arelian
"Oh a skag, yes we should try to evade it first. Jack would you pick up Claptrap please, it is likely the loudest of the group." Five says, then slowly starts to circle around the nest, toward the one logical passage out of the cavern.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 Stealth Check. He quietly sneaks.
