I took all of the frightened crew off the map because they're too far away to be effected by a remove fear spell and they're going to be fleeing for longer than the fight is going to last.

Yes it's a standard to haul the chain up. It's also going to take several rounds because of the depth.

How many is several, like 5 or 20?

Closer to 5. It will depend on your strength checks for the exact amount.

Waiting on Dalton/Ianna. It's the weekend so I'm not too worried, but if he doesn't post by late night tomorrow I will DMPC him.

I forgot to clarify in the latest post, but Rilka is going to attempt to climb up the back of the platypus.

Is my action not posted? Curse?

Yours is posted. I think DM Omen made the same mistake I recently did between Dalton and Toramin.

Ah, my bad. Rilka is correct, I meant Toramin/Ianna.

I'm getting held late at umpiring. One of our umpires had a family emergency and I'm covering for him. Due to how little sleep my schedule is allowing me, I probably won't have time to put together a combat post until tomorrow night. Sorry for the delay.

Just so you know Toramin, drinking that extract will provoke.

Spectral hand can grope from 130 feet away!

Oh dang, I didn't even think about that. When I think of spectral hand I just think of attack spells. You're totally right. I'll get an update in when I get home.

Going up in size decreases your attack rolls, but increases your CMB ;)

Can you confirm that its CMB was greater than 35? It seems like it rolled a seven. Which would mean it had more than a +28 to its check.

Yes, he adds more than 28 to his check. Thank you for checking though, because I had your CMD as 31 instead of 35.

My weapon adds +2 to anything that would move me off my feet and using stone strike adds another +2. It would also take a -1 from Prayer.

Yeah he still beat you by more than 5. 42 strength and colossal size, plus a pretty decent BaB.

Intense. Did it make a spell craft check to know it should change tactics?

Him changing tactics had nothing to do with the shield extract. He tried hitting you and discovered you're really hard to hit, so he decided to get you out of the way instead.

@Rilka - Hahahaha that actually confirmed, this creature's AC is absolutely awful. Between size and dex penalties for making it so huge, the only reason it even has a positive AC is because of the really powerful template I put on it. You just confirmed a critical called shot, that eye is gone.

Don't forget the 4x damage.

Toramin, you may be able to breathe underwater but that doesn't make you any better at swimming. You'll need to make a swim check or risk "drowning", in this case just sinking.

I thought he did roll it.

And I forgot the Bulls strength on Bjorkus's strength check. It should be 23.

I did. It's the last roll of the post. I plan for all some eventualities.

Ah, I didn't see that originally. For future reference, keep rolls in chronological order. For instance, Toramin couldn't have moved over to attack if he failed his swim check. Which he did, because ACP is doubled in water.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

I'm pretty sure they removed that rule in pathfinder.

Yeah, they nixed that penalty in Pathfinder.

3.5 Armor Check Penalty wrote:

Any armor heavier than leather hurts a character’s ability to use some skills. An armor check penalty number is the penalty that applies to Balance, Climb, Escape Artist, Hide, Jump, Move Silently, Sleight of Hand, and Tumble checks by a character wearing a certain kind of armor. Double the normal armor check penalty is applied to Swim checks. A character’s encumbrance (the amount of gear carried, including armor) may also apply an armor check penalty.

Hmm, so they did. For now I'll go with RAW, but in the future I might revert that back to 3.5 because I like that particular ruling on it better. Possibly for metal armor only.

Does that mean Toramin was able to get close enough to attack? Or did he still fail?

Ah, you are correct. I have edited for Toramin's LoH now. Yes there is plenty of rope on the boat.

Yes I've edited for Toramin getting one attack in.

As for Ianna only healing the living, I had assumed that since you didn't mention her not including the platypus, that she did include the platypus, and since it's an undead that means it takes damage from the channel.

I think Ianna is going to be doing a lot of prayer and soul searching on this trip. I think she wants to be a more realized vessel for her goddess' power, transitioning from a Merciful Healer to an Ecclesitheurge. Her goddess' love is not exhausted by healing and she is coming to see the need for these other gifts after she has left the safety of the dwarven kingdom.

Yes. It takes a standard action at the very least, possibly a full round. It's hard to feed somebody who's in combat.

Sweet. I don't suppose that's enough for us to level. =P

The sails should be fine. They have a ton of HP.

Sails and Rigging wrote:
Sails (including the rigging that controls them) are often weaker than the vessels they propel, though they are relatively easy to repair. Destroying a ship's sails is a good way to capture a vessel. Sails take double the normal damage from acid and fire attacks (multiply the damage roll by 2). Sails gain the broken condition if at least half the squares of sails on a ship are destroyed. If all of a ship's sails are destroyed, the ship can no longer use wind propulsion and must rely on current or muscle propulsion only.

The Storm is a standard sailing ship with:

Quote:
Means of Propulsion 60 squares of sails (two masts)

Sails count as a singular object with 4 per 5-ft. square so they'd need to take 120 damage before they're 'broken'.
