That's a lot of carrying capacity. We can carry even more dead party members!

Oh good. Taken care off. Unless you guys start taking to carrying out statues from dungeons you shouldn't have to worry about party encumbrance.

Strip the adamantine doors. We're takin' 'em home!

At some point I should tell the story about the time my dwarven stalwart defender went adamantium-wall sledding over sand.

Sorry for my absence. The past two days have been extremely hectic. Like come-home-only-to-pass-out hectic.

As for retconning things, I don't believe Toramin would have done anything differently. I believe choices should have consequences and Toramin was unlucky.

No worries Toramin. Thanks for letting us know what's going on. I hope things slow to a more manageable pace for you. See my PM also (Dalton's not the only one with an adventure in the afterlife!)

Since you guys probably won't fight my diamond remorhaz now, I'm going to let you know that the huge chunk of diamond was broken off of it by the frost giant. He had more than one run in with the creature and it has become a bit of a nemesis for him, which is why he was willing to betray his employer for its death.

Everyone has their white whale.

Also, this was the template I was using.

Weird. That AC boost could be nuts.

In this case it would be 5, putting the remorhaz's AC at 25.

Considering the remorhaz already has pretty lethal offense, that's scary.

You looking to be busy this weekend Omen? I'm eager to reunite the party and start delving into this conspiracy.

My weekend looks relatively open, although my roommates and I plan to do some serious raiding in Vindictus.

The trip back will be uneventful. I'm mostly delaying because you guys pushed the story arc a little away from what I expected so I have to replan.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

I've been meaning to give that game a try.

Karok looks like my jam.

It's quite a bit of fun. Fast paced combat system and interesting bosses (the Kraken raid is quite a masterpiece). The only thing I don't like is high level gear gets exponentially harder to get.

I'm a Hurk player myself.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

I was sold by a video of Karok wrestling down a yeti-thing and punching it in the face.

Karok is what we like to call a "crippler". He's good at keeping bosses from killing everybody, and a Karok who knows how to use his clash ability well is a massive asset in a lot of raids.

I prefer Hurk because he has more DPS so he's better at running solo's, and he's a high-risk high-reward character. His ability to parry bosses makes him a little like Karok since he can stop attacks.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

This is precisely what I wish Bjorkus could do.

It is a very cool mechanic that's a lot of fun to pull off. Unfortunately there's nothing quite like it in Pathfinder, and because of the different nature of combat it would be incredibly hard to implement a balanced version of it.

Also, Hurk's parry has no cool down :P it's just a lot harder to time.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Well in theory it'd just be a round or two of grappling followed by an unarmed strike.

Well there is the snapping turtle clutch feat.

If a Karok clashes a flying dragon I bow down to him. That's a really small window, and if you mistime it than it's certain death.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Right but grappling just doesn't work in PF. If Bjorkus were to grapple the giant monster, it'd just full attack him. There's no incentive for the dramatic test of strength.

Yup. Two different worlds of games.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Well it doesn't have to be so different.

In any case I'll be giving it a shot when I get home. Any starter tips?

It doesn't have to, but it is. Find something in RAW and you're free to use it.

There's an event going on that's really good for people starting. It gives you great temporary gear, so you don't have to worry about acquiring gear until the event is over. The only thing you need to watch out for is where you're putting your ability points (AP). Karok has two fighting styles, pillar and cestus, and their abilities level up separately. If you want to use clash, focus on pillar. Either way, pick one and focus on it.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Well it could just be a choice. Just like Targ chose to spend a round butchering his pet torturer and Raul chose to attack Acera ineffectively instead of the more vulnerable gunslinger. An enemy could wrestle Bjorkus back instead of full attacking. It doesn't have to be a mechanic.

For Vindictus I'm also rather fond of those grappling finishers Karok seems to have. I don't suppose those are pillar too?

That would be a grapple check.

The grappling finishes are universal, they're not tied to a certain fighting style. But they are bloody brutal.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

That was precisely the one I was thinking of.

As I understood it only Karok can do that and you need a certain talent. Does every Karok get it by default?

At a certain level you will. I'm not really a Karok expert, you'd have more luck with an online guide.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Should I end up liking the game, which server should I roll on so we can potentially play together in the future?

East.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Nice, that's the one I rolled on. I just cleared the first tutorial mission.

I'm sorry tiny korean girl, I had to kill your giant pet spider.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Beating down gnolls with my fists is immensely satisfying.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Is there anything useful that can be done with the piles of random gear I'm picking up while leveling? They're not worth anything to vendors and they have no value on the AH. Should I just destroy them?

It requires a little bit of time with Google. I suggest this site, as it tells you what the uses of items are. A lot of items are used in crafting, while others are useless.

Although since you're playing during the road to 85 event you don't really care about crafting much since you're being handed really good gear for a few more weeks.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

The crafting materials aren't a problem because they all stack. I'm more refering to the 12 light plate armor pieces I picked up while farming the gnoll chief.

If they're not as good as what you have, and they can't sell for anything, go ahead and toss them.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

That's exactly what I wanted to hear.

Are we waiting on Toramin/Ianna? Bjorkus suggested Sehitha escort them to her grandmother.

Yup. I decided a while back that I'm not going to be in control of any cohorts/followers/ect. that travel with the party because of mechanics (leadership feat, bond class feature), because I didn't want to get overloaded with handling NPCs. Plus I don't like to roleplay between myself constantly.

I've been watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and I feel like their organization runs a lot like the Aestherics does. They operate internationally, frequently take on "unorthodox" members, and as agent Coulsen puts it "They keep secrets for a reason".

I took most of Sunday off but I still managed to hit 50.

I have to say the content has drastically gotten harder in the last level or two.

Yes, it gets significantly harder. In season 2 some of the raids are so difficult that a group of eight people in their 80's can still fail. However you can also get upwards of 4m XP in one raid.

Edit: Also, if you haven't done it yet, get your transformation skill. It's a massive help.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Clash single-handedly has sold me on the game. Wrestling down polar bears/giant spiders/everything else is super fun.

Is this seance happened aloud? Do we all hear Toramin's voice?

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

My spoiler suggests that everybody hears. Whatever this spell is, it is much better than the standard speak with dead, but Yana has had a long life and a lot of practice with spell research, so I'm impressed not scandalized.
