[Gameday VII][Session 1] GM Eclipse's Black Waters (Inactive)

Game Master Agent Eclipse

The Pathfinder Society seeks the ancient ruby ring of the salamander and it falls to a team of Pathfinders to find it. Last seen in the Tri-Towers Yard, a once elite academy for the youth of Absalom, the ruby ring is now lost in the Drownyard, all that remains of Tri-Towers after it was destroyed a decade ago in the great quake. The Pathfinders must risk the strange black ichors and salty brine to find their prize—will they risk their very souls as well?

Does that sound interesting to you, agent? I hope so because you are on my the recruitment page for my first session of PbP Gameday VII. The scenario is Black Waters (Season 0-6).

The game will start on the 13th of August and recruitment will end when we have a full group or be pushed to a lottery if the interest is large enough before the end of the week.

Alright! Now on to the gritty details like my expectations:

-Try to post at least once a day. More if you can help it especially in combat.
-Try to put some flavor into your posts rather than just give me dice. A brief explanation works fine and allows me to improve my posts as well to turn it into a compelling story.
-Let me know ahead of time if you will be absent or aren't feeling too hot. Real life understandably happens but it helps prepare me to bot. (Bot information on your profile if needed helps too.)

Just made this magus today to go hunting for a gameday scenario. I have not finished a PbP scenario before for PFS (was in one before but had to bow out due to serious life issues). It's been a minute since I made a PFS character, but I think I did all this right (he just needs gear I believe). Hopefully you're willing to take on a PF vet/PFS noob. :)

Oh for sure. New players to PbP are definitely welcome and once I get some free time I can help refine your profile and whatnot.

I would like to play with this character or a 3L unchained Rouge. I would prefer this one, but either one is good.

I vote for the bard. I love halflings, and no one in my old gaming group would ever play them no matter how much I prodded. Halflings for days! :D

Also two bards would be super-fun to watch. Dueling banjos!

Well, now that our other common GM's plans are clear (session II to resume), I could get this little guy some spare work in session I.

Good to have you! That puts us up to 4 and with this being a season 0 scenario we would be fine with 5. However we will see if any others become interested.

As far as two bards I don't see it being an issue. It will be an interesting dynamic and I love having bards around!

Grax and Javon would love to do this. We've already played School of Spirits, so this be a bit of flashback for them.

No worries. That leaves us with 4 players which is fine as the scenario was optimized for 4 3.5 characters. Would the group like me to open recruitment to see if some others would like to join or go forward as is?

Currently we have:

Cabricalius Melandrus-Magus
Andy Applebottom-Bard
Arin Qualnoh-Oracle
Grax, Son of Dray and Javon-Fighter and Familiar

That leaves us with two possible slots if we want to fill the table which may or may not make the challenge be reduced.

I vote to see if we can pick up more.

It wouldn't hurt to open it back up for some help. Was it optimized for *any* four characters or the "four pillars" roles (combat/arcane/divine/thievery)?

As far as optimizing in the early scenarios they were expecting somewhat varied parties (you can only require so much due to the way Organized Play works) but the addition of options from the years of Pathfinders often allow bases to be covered (more hybrid "gish" like builds through archetypes and such).

I'm interested. Lvl1 cartomancer witch available for duty. This and one more at the same start date will be my first PbP so might need small amounts of guidance.

Glad to have you and no worries on being new. I had great teachers my first go so I will help as much as needed.

That sounds like a really interesting archetype as I love the Harrow deck. I like just messing around with my Deluxe one since I never get to use it in game.

That fills us up. Working on finishing touches to the slides currently so just provide the information in Discussion and I will keep in touch as we get closer to the start date.

I have the Deluxe deck too. I've got a spiritualist in FTF play that actually lets me pull it out and use it at the table for daily readings from one of her feats. The players love it and sometimes ask me to do a reading before we make a decision just for RP.
