GM Z..D.. |

Ok, at this point in time, you can either attempt to try and speak to the Gillman. Or you can continue to explore the caves. There are two tunnels at the southern end of the tunnel. One leads east the other west.
What do you do?

GM Z..D.. |

The Gillman turns to face Gringo. He stares at them, looking amazed that there are more visitors to the cave. He looks at everyone for a second but pauses on Gealdn for a second , then looks back to Gringo. As if waiting for someone to start speaking.

Mūn looks from Mr. Peppers to Grummosh, hoping that one of the better speakers will lead this conversation.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Mr Peppers watches Gringo gain the Gillman's attention, and will also approach trying to gauge the situation.
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Mr Peppers will look back and forth between the Gillman and Gealdn and clear his throat. "We were sent here by the Pathfinder Society as peaceful explorers, to document and map these caves. We were chased inside without our guide avoiding a large horned monster with an even larger axe." Mr Peppers then straightens up and speaks with confidence "I see you've noticed the magic cloak on Gealdn. We found it discarded down in a pit and thought we'd put it to good use. Do you recognize it?"

GM Z..D.. |

His eyes shift to Mr. Peppers. Then widen a second after making mention of the monster. He looks back at Gealdn for a brief second then back to Mr. Peppers, and slowly nods.

![]() |

Uthraed stays back observing get the interaction from afar and staying ever vigilant looking for threats.
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
I do wish that I had studied more and could speak in their native to get.

![]() |

"Can you speak in the common tongue? Or perhaps something else?" Mr Peppers will try asking him the same question in numerous languages hoping to catch one he knows.
He'll start with Draconic as the most logical choice, followed by Elven, Sylvan, and finally dirty Gnomish

GM Z..D.. |

![]() |

Mr Peppers starts to think that the old man just thinks of us as intruders and tries to turn on the charm.
"We humbly ask for your permission to document and map these caves, and to take notes of your beautiful artwork adorning the walls so that others may enjoy them from afar and will leave this place be. We would be happy to make an offering at your shrine." Mr Peppers then looks to the rest of the group for confirmation and additional words of encouragement.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

GM Z..D.. |

You do not know if the cloak belongs to him or not, just that it is of similar style and color to his robes
Mr. Peppers I am assuming is taking lead, anyone else may attempt to aide now.

![]() |

Uthraed lowers his bow and takes the arrow off of his string attempting to indicate that he means him no harm.
"We saw the images of the guises of Aroden as we were coming in, quite striking. We recognized the beggar a deep the hunter but we were unsure of the other two" Uthraed says hoping that his knowledge of Aroden may appease the Gillman.
aid diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
I'm not very appeasing apparently...

GM Z..D.. |

"You may document the caves and make offerings if you wish. This used to be a sacred location of Aroden, the dead god of humanity, but over the past centuries, the carvings have faded. Now we use this cave as our own sacred location, and come to the pool to reflect."

![]() |

"I haven't spent time studying the different Gods. Who is this Aroden and what might be a proper offering to keep us in his good graces as we explore his sacred place?" Mr Peppers asks with the utmost respect and humility.

![]() |

Mūn looks shocked at Mr. Peppers admission, and turns to the arcanist, forgetting the gillman completely. "The Living God! He founded Absalom. He's dead now, and not worshipped of course, but you should read your history, scholar."

![]() |

Mr Peppers raises a serious eyebrow towards Mun. "While I'm respectful of each God and their ways, Nethys is the only one I've spent any amount of time studying. Magic and the arcane is my God, the rest is merely a distraction from the only true prize." He then matter of factly returns his attention to the elder Gillman.

GM Z..D.. |

The gillman looks back and forth between the elves. Contemplates for a moment and then speaks.
"The carvings show how to make the offerings, it is up to you to interpret."

![]() |

Mūn turns his attention back to the gillman. "Is that what you're doing, making offerings to Aroden? Or do I detect that your worship is of a different sort?"

GM Z..D.. |

"Oh no, I have come here to listen to the water, not to pray to a dead God"

![]() |

Mr Peppers attempts to detect if there is any sarcasm coming from the gillman.
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 4 I wonder if gillman are jokers...
"Well then, lets continue our mission then shall we?" He looks to the group to see if anyone else has anything to add to the current situation before they move on.

![]() |

"Oh no, I have come here to listen to the water, not to pray to a dead God"
Mūn seems as though he's not quite ready to give up this line of questioning.
"What do you hear in the water? Are there more of you who come, or is this a private choice for you alone?"

GM Z..D.. |

"Many of us Gillman sees this place as sacred. The natural spring that this water comes from is a pure source and has yet to be tainted."The Gillman pauses for a moment and then looks strait at Mun,"I hear that the influence of Aroden is slowly leaving the place and soon enough, it will no longer be a place for him. Also, many other creatures have come to inhabit this cave."

![]() |

The elf considers the gillman's words. "The influence of Aroden fades from all of Golarion. He was a great man and the First God, but can work his will on Golarion no longer."
He looks to the rest of the group, and continues. "Sorry to pry, but your travels here have been observed; that's partly why we're here. Hopefully, through your answers, we can influence the Society to give you some space or even protection for your reflections. You come at the full moon. What is the significance of that to you?"

![]() |

As Mr Peppers is getting ready to move along, the mention of 'other creatures' peaks his interest. "What sort of other creatures have taken up residence here? Anything we should be concerned, or that you are concerned about?"

GM Z..D.. |

"I do not know. I only come to this chamber to reflect and then leave the way that you all came in."

![]() |

With that Mr Peppers bows to the Gillman for his assistance and follows Gealdn to the eastern cavern.

GM Z..D.. |

The cave’s damp air becomes increasingly stale as the PCs continue down through this tunnel, and as they approach this area, the stench of decay grows increasingly evident. The passage turns to the east and opens into a small cavern littered with bits of broken glass, rotting pieces of paper, and other unusable detritus. The body of a male dhampir lies facedown toward the back of the cavern.

No surprise round, you noticed each other at the same time. So it is down to who reacts first.

Mr Peppers looks up with a start as Mun advances into the room and is confronted with 3 zombies. Knowledge:Religion Untrained: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
"Woah easy Mun. You don't want those zombies getting a hold of you!" As he says this he pulls out the wand of burning hands and looks around waiting for everyone else to react.

Uthraed runs in the room with his bow and arrow ready but has no time to fire. He dies does however get a look at the creatures.

Mr Peppers raises an eyebrow when he sees Uthraed run past him only to fall over dead... muttering something about zombies.

GM Z..D.. |

@Uthread, using a knowledge check untrained, the DC can not go above 10. So you can get the DC 1 and DC 10, but nothing else.
Also left his out of DC 1, it appeared to be at one time a Gillman

GM Z..D.. |

Red and Blue do the thriller walk up to Mun.
Order:Uthread, Gringo, Mun, Mr. Peppers, Red, Blue, Gealdn, Grummosh, Yellow
Gealdn and Grummosh, you are up.
