Amadeo Noskero |
Amadeo stands at the ready while Astarton peruses the scrolls.
"I think we hit the motherlode" he says with a smile.
While he waits, Amadeo peers into another room, at the west of the room he currently is in, past some rubbles, to see if there is anything interesting there.
Perception check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
GM Xzaral |
This large room looks like it was once a scribing chamber. The remains of many desks are scattered about, and amid the rubble is a number of long-dried inkwells, other writing utensils, and scraps of paper. These things are covered with black mold and patches of light green mushrooms.
As Amadeo peers in, a creature to the south peers back, from amid a patch of fungus, a small creature like a bipedal frog with glowing eyes.

Amadeo Noskero |
"Hey, there's some frog thing in there !" Amadeo shouts to his companions.
Amadeo enters the room and Readies an action - to strike with his rapier - in case the frog-thing attacks him.
"Shoo ! Stay quiet and we won't hurt you !" he says to the frog-thing.
Rapier attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Rapier damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Astarton Columbridge |
Hearing the commotion from the other room, Astarton pockets the scroll he had and moves to see what is going on. "What are you doing in there Amadeo?"
Move action to stow an item, Move action to get a visual on Amadeo
GM Xzaral |
The creature's eyes suddenly glow brightly, emitting a strong light. Anyone that looks at the creature within 30' must make a Fort save DC 13 or be blinded for 1 hour. Amadeo amd Astartong needs to make that save now.
As it's eyes glow, the creature moves next to Amadeo and unleashes a series of attacks. Amadeo, you take 3 damage from one claw. If you fail the fort save the other hits and you'll take another 3. The bite missed entirely.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Astarton throws his hands up over his eyes, but too late. The infernal frog set his eyes on fire. He cringed and cried out, "Eeeeeee!". After noticing how tremendously girlish that scream was, he corrected himself. "I mean, Augh!" Having been satisfied that his second reaction was more manly, he did his best to maintain the first one didn't happen.
On Astarton's next turn if the frog is still alive, he will stay put and start a Inspire Courage Performance with his comedy.
Amadeo Noskero |
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
"HAAA !" Amadeo screams as the light from the frog's eyes sears his own eyes.
Ravaged by the frog's claws, Amadeo thrusts blindly with his rapier, in the desperate hope to make the creature feels some pain of its own.
Rapier attack while blinded: 21
Miss chance from being blind: 1d100 ⇒ 75
Rapier damage: 7
GM Xzaral |
Able to post here so can continue. Still awaiting Jericho, Talor, and Daniel. Also Amadeo, you're readied action brings you immediately before the creature so you may act as well if you'd like again. Astarton will have started Inspire Courage by then so you can add those bonuses.
Talor Blackstone |
I appear to be stuck behind Daniel and Jericho. However, once he has a path into the room, Talor will move in, pistol loaded and at the ready.
Also, I may have to wait until next turn to have a decent shot at the blindheim - by my reckoning, it would still be behind cover and outside of the first range increment. Went ahead and moved him on the map, though.
Jericho Daskin |
Fortitude: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9.
Jericho moves into the room until he can see the frog thing, the light from its eyes blinding him. He staggers a bit more over to get out of the way so others can try to deal with the creature.
I am at work and cannot edit the map. Jericho moves 25 feet to the left.
GM Xzaral |
Talor, remember you can move through ally spaces, you just can't end in them. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean.
The creature shifts it's attention to Daniel, managing to get a single claw through his defenses for 4 points of damage.
You all are up again.

Talor saunters into the room, takes aim at the creature, fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17, and fires at it.
using a grit point on Up Close and Deadly, since half the group is blind:
Try to blind this!
attack (into melee): 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 4 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + (4) = 7
GM Xzaral |
Wuse Guy's attack comes close to striking, a strong attack, but the creature takes advantage of his blindness to dodge out of his attack. Though he does move into range of Talor's strike, landing solid on him. Daniel attempts an attack of his own, but misses.
Just need Jericho's action, then the blindheim is up
Jericho Daskin |
Sorry for the delay. Last round Jericho moved straight to the left as far as he could go, this round he will move some more, but I cannot edit the map at work. So, can someone please move Jericho to the square jus tto the left of Blindheim so he boxes the creature in?
Following the sounds of fighting, Jericho stumbles forward between his allies until he hears the creature's breathing close at hand. He then turns to the creature and swings his morningstar at it, hoping its death will return his sight.

Amadeo Noskero |
"If our sight has not returned in a few hours, I suggest we go back to Absalom and try to find some healer. My nascent pathfinder career will not be cut short by an ugly frog !" Asmadeo Noskero grumbles.
A pause.
"Hey, Wuse Guy, have you some booze left ?"
Amadeo Noskero |
Amadeo catches the waterskin with surprising precision.
"Thanks, good dwarf !"
He takes a large swig himself, before passing it around.
Amadeo has a little laugh.
"When I joined the Pathfinders, it was advertised that I would be a witness to many wondrous sights ! But I wouldn't want to miss the blind drunkenness experience indeed !"
I surmise that some time passes after that.
Jericho Daskin |
Long before his vision clears, Jericho seems to deflate slightly as his muscles return to their previous size.
As his vision clears, he rises to his feet, Well, that is better. Have we accomplished all that we came to accomplish?
Amadeo Noskero |
"Well, we have found numerous documents - and particularly a trade agreement -, the jade katana, and we even managed to dispatch this poor creature of a ghoul. I'd say we can go back to Absalom !"
Amadeo Noskero |
Amadeo bursts into laughing.
"Ho yes, I wouldn't want to miss that !".
"Well, it's that way. I'll accompany you, Wuse Guy. But I prefer you take the lead on this one."
Amadeo absently traces with a finger one of the numerous scars currently criss-crossing his face, thanks to the frog-like creature.
"I feel a little bit under the wind just right now."
Amadeo follows Wuse Guy and the others wherever they want to go, cautiously staying in the middle of the party.
Astarton Columbridge |
Astarton enjoyed a bit of the brew himself as they waited for their eyesight to improve. Once it did, he made a point to finish looking through the scrolls in the room and pocket any that seemed important, or at least salvageable in his mind. After that he was willing to go with the group.
Daniel von Dorn |
While waiting to pass the time, Daniel made a thorough inspection of the room they were in. Take 20 on Perception = 18 :)
After that he stood guard diligently until he heard, to his relief, that the sight was returning to his companions.
"I agree - the mission looks accomplished to me. Let's get back to the Lodge."
GM Xzaral |
Your mission completed, your group makes it's way back to Absalom uneventfully.
Who do you wish to see first, Aaqir al'Hakam or Amara Li?
