Anibal moves to get into a better position. He's not in a rush and tries to talk to the creature. He draws his bow after moving.
"So who are you, then?"
GM Tyranius |
"So who are you, then?"
The undead creature doesn't seem to give a response outside of Hustavan's shrill scream. Please don't let the hell spawn kill me!
The undead creature chuckles. My name has no meaning. I have been sent here to rid this cult of their ineptitude.
korval give sthe undead little more time to speak as his greatsword cleaves it's rotting arm clean off. Anibal moves into a better position as Clak-Clik stocks a bolt from his crossbow in the creature's eye socket.

Fine. You all just run ahead while the Cleric waits behind. You know, I have specific training against these things! Bah! Stupid knee. Why'd you have to give out now?
Caladrel Quinn |
Cal watches as the young barbarian rushes in, but this time makes the better of the situation.Aah, barbarians will be barbarians...Cal chuckles to himself. Cal moves in one step right of the entrance and fires an arrow at the creature. bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 131d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
GM Tyranius |
Getting ahead Gaeldn. Your first attack hasn't even resolved yet as your name was not bolded :)
Caldrel's arrow misses as it strikes the stone near the undead. As Korval is near the undead he begins to feel a bit unlucky as it swings a fist right at his neck.

Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 +1 Con Drain (DC 14 Fort save to negate Con drain[/ooc]
Korval begins to feel his life be sapped by the undead creature's touch alone.
Zyphus himself has granted me power. I will show you what he is capable of! The undead screams as he slams his foot onto the tone ground. Two stalactites fall from the ceiling above Korval and the Baillaset.
Stalactite vs Baillaset: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Stalactite vs Korval AC 15: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

The massive stalactite smashes into Korval's back, staggering the large man as the second stalactite misses the undead, scattering small bits of stone around the chamber.
Gaeldn rushes in and the Baillaset duscks under his blade.

Korval had 15 HP (13 + 2 temp) while raging with an AC of 11 with the charge he had done. He was hit twice for a total of 13 damage Korval should still be concious. If this is the case Korval will attack again without charging so his AC is 13
On that note: the ceiling beat the crap out of him.
Raging Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Damage: 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (3, 6) + 11 = 20

Herald moves into the chamber and tends to Korval's many wounds.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
The wild man's flailings throw off Herald's concentration, and he manages only the barest success possible.
Hold still, dammit! I'm trying to heal you.
Anibal Ibarr |
I have been sent here to rid this cult of their ineptitude.
"Hah! Joke's on you. We're here to get rid of the cult altogether."
Anibal nocks and fires two arrows in rapid sucession, attempting to turn the thing into a pincushion. When the ceiling partially collapses, a quick expression of concern shows up on his face.
Longbow Flurry: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 171d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Longbow Flurry: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 221d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
LB Flurry Crit Confirm, Extra Damage: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 152d8 + 2 ⇒ (5, 1) + 2 = 8
GM Tyranius |
Yes- Korval I was not counting in your temp hp boost.
Though Korval's swing misses Anibal is able to finish the undead's remainder of its unlife as it falls in a heap, two arrows protruding from its chest.
A well-timed blow, m’lord! Hustavan slaps Anibal on the back.
******************************************************************
Defeating Baillaset and the remainder of Oppara’s Zyphus cultists does what the Society hoped it would—it rids Oppara of a cult that tricked and murdered an esteemed Pathfinder, and it sends a message to other cults not to trifle with the Society. It has one added effect: it infuriates the cleric who trained Fel Bustrani and sent Baillaset and gives this mysterious cleric a new enemy upon which to exact revenge.
That is the end of Part 2. Part 3 is for levels 3-7. If you guys have characters in that range I can run that also if you wish. I will finish chronicles this evening and should be able to get them out tomorrow. I just need PFS info from Gaeldn to report and for chronicles.
{The} Herald |
I feel that my 2 HP of healing at the end of combat were instrumental in our success. ;-)
Anibal Ibarr |
Oh what's it? Awww. Fun game, either way. Thanks, all.
Anibal looks at Hustavan when addressed. "Speaking of getting rid of the cult altogether. You seem to know an awful lot about this here cult. You're not - Or were not, rather - a part of it, are you?"
Not to metagame, if that's the concern, this is the first time I've been through this scenario. But he does seem to have intimate knowledge on the subject. None of his responses ruled out such a possibility, and when he said "Never met him." when asked about the person in the letter, my BS detector went through the roof.

Hustavan looks confused Didn't Dreng explain everything to you? (Link)
Anibal Ibarr |
"Yes, but - I've been thinking."
Anibal takes a moment, and comes a step closer to Hustavan.
"Convenient that you are currently the only one alive. From this former society, I mean. Wouldn't you say?" he puts one of his index fingers to his cheek, and looks at the ceiling for a moment, asking: "What did the letter say again?"
