Opening the first left-hand door, Gozrek steps into a spacious bedroom lavishly decorated with fine furniture, gold trim, and sleek furs piled high on the four-poster. He is about to leave when he catches a seam in the wallpaper out of the corner of his eye.

There is a secret door behind the bed.

We're definitely not on ground level. Given the narrow diameter of the tower, I think we should check this door first." Gozrek then heads to the western door.

Kingmaker Tactical | Strategic | The Marchlands | Campaign Tracking | Liberation Points: 16

Gozrek opens the western door onto a well-appointed lavatory, featuring a cushioned privy and a large marble tub.

Augrym opens the the secret door a little wider, revealing what appears to be a closet lined with lingerie, light whips, gags, and other assorted playthings.

If possible, before the battle begins, Bytor casts Message on everyone so that every can communicate at a whisper.

Hearing the beautiful aria, Bytor begins his own Countersong.

Performance Check: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36

Countersong:
Countersong (Su): At 1st level, a bard learns to counter magic effects that depend on sound (but not spells that have verbal components). Each round of the countersong he makes a Perform (keyboard, percussion, wind, string, or sing) skill check. Any creature within 30 feet of the bard (including the bard himself) that is affected by a sonic or language-dependent magical attack may use the bard's Perform check result in place of its saving throw if, after the saving throw is rolled, the Perform check result proves to be higher. If a creature within range of the countersong is already under the effect of a noninstantaneous sonic or language-dependent magical attack, it gains another saving throw against the effect each round it hears the countersong, but it must use the bard's Perform skill check result for the save. Countersong does not work on effects that don't allow saves. Countersong relies on audible components.

Drelev has more than Total Cover from John because John is still in the hallway. Redirecting to the only visible guard.

John fires off a barrage of arrows that sail past Bytor's ear; two make it through the oblique doorframe, but connect only with the far wall. I know you all want a full-attack out of your archer Gatling, but may I gently recommend spending a move action to get said Gatling into a position to actually do damage.

Quintessa presses herself against the wall, seeming to melt into it and disappear.

Augrym Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 78 Nearest: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Augrym must attack the red guard
Unrak must attack Drelev
Bytor Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 9 Bytor may act normally

Round III
1. Gozrek (30/52 hp), Augrym (86/95 hp, confused), Unrak (confused, must attack Drelev), Bytor (confused)
2. Guards (red confused), Drelev
3. John, Taranis
4. Quintessa (16 dmg)

I only took the full attack before because I thought it would be simply cover, not the super duper cover.

Gozrek appears for a moment, just enough to hurl a snowball at the face of the guard next to him.

ATK: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 1 = 25 for DMG: 5d6 + 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 2, 6) + (6, 2, 6) = 29 Bewildered + FORT DC 13 or be staggered. Gozrek then opts for invisiblity over the ubiquitous use of his final easy spell, Grease. Out of level 1 spells and invisible again.

In a moment of lucidity, Bytor casts Dispel Magic and targets Unrak to try and break the confusion engulfing the party!
