Blue senses more tasty goodness nearby, and lashes out at Ali!
[dice=Blue slam]1d20+6
[dice=dmg]2d6+8 plus 2d6 acid and free grab attempt 1d20+10
[dice=if successful, constrict plus acid]1d6+1+1d6
Point of Order: it is totally my fault that I haven't looked at/updated the map, but in my defense when I'm at work I can only use my phone, which sux. Please note that Ali had fired her bow...I had been assuming I was far enough away to warrant such an action, and not adjacent--if I had, I'd have 5' stepped back to shoot.
This is in no way an attempt to weasel out of the 31 damage this round--at least, not in a cheating way--but I *am* asking whether the round will stand at me with 4 hp!
GM thunderspirit
Well, it moved next to Ali; it wasn't adjacent to start.
Additionally, your benevolent GM decided to spread out the damage so that said 31 dmg didn't go onto Kappi and drop him from full down to -13 (and dead) in one round.
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein
Acknowledged. I can live with that. Although, now we are both grappled by an ooze and will die next round. I seriously doubt we can both be saved--in fact, I doubt either of us can be. Do what you gotta do, all...
GM thunderspirit
Escaping form grey oozes is surprisingly easy. And though no, you haven't any alkalai flasks, you do have a heckuva lot more speed than they do. You might even have some wolf jerky left, LOL
GM thunderspirit
Round 1
Edward looks down and spies a few pebbles. He bend down picks them up, and casts light on one of them.
No indication of a life link in your previous post.
I did offer you the chance to redo your Standard since Davosh's dancing lights are up, so if that's what you'd like to do that's fine, just need to let me know.
GM thunderspirit
Edward life links with Kappi! (That's a Standard action, BTW, so no doing it out of combat.)
Davosh shoots his crossbow into melee and hits Blue!
U 10
Round 1
Kappi — hits, blade takes damage
Edward — life link
Ali — rolled a 1, sad trombone
baddies — slam + grapple
Davosh — *thunk*
Vojtek — TBD
Vojtek up to close out the round, then Kappi, Edward, and Ali can post Round 2 actions!
RAGING VOJTEK!!!!
Sincere apologies for failure to play D&D - My Pacific adventure left me Fatigued.
Vojtek seems startled at the strange foes, so at first makes a tentative poke with a handy stick. When they lashed out and attacked his friends as a result, the barbarian's rage is kindled and he begins a ferocious and honestly somewhat panicked attack.
picture trying to kill a spider and then horror of horrors, it MOVES!!
1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 11 - 1 = 15 for 2d6 + 11 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2) + 11 + 3 = 20 damage. attacks RED
Unless it disintegrates, Vojtek takes a slightly terrified shuffle back to see what happens after his first enraged assault. If it dies, he stays put.
GM thunderspirit
I had the two baddies outlined in colors but it was hard to see far away. So I moved the helpful dots placed so that they now correspond correctly. Meaning Votjek hacks at Blue, not Red. Important since Blue was already damaged.
Vojtek gets mad and attacks! He chops into the ooze, and his blade takes 1d6 ⇒ 2 acid damage!

CMB to break grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Then move away 30'. or just die, looks like...
Kappi Matarito
Round 2
Will Power save vs terror 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Kappi fails to stifle a cry of terror. In fact he screams like a girl. He is bound up by this grey boogery monster of burning acid pain. He begins to wiggle like snake and do everything he can to brake free of the acid booger horror.
Escape artist 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
If he escape he runs away to throw weapons at it another round. the obviously isnt going to escape from this... Lady Luck is a treacherous b%~$!
GM thunderspirit
Worth reminding the party, at this juncture.

Thanks, DMTS
Ali will spend a Hero point to gain a standard action to try breaking free again!! And this time I'll roll in the double digits.
Breaking Grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
are you f~%@ing kidding me?!?!?!
Kappi Matarito
Kappi will also spend a hero point
Trying to fight his fear the rogue funnels his terrified flailing into concentrated wriggling and worming escape.
Escape artist 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
not quite double digits but well above our average roll of 4 for our party this fight, assuming we live we should have a slew of high rolls coming our way
Davosh the Wanderer
Davosh has a couple of tricks left. I just learned that my misfortune hex works on these things.

Davosh the Wanderer
Total metagaming: Start pulling away. Even if it wastes a round, the withdraw action can buy us some space. The fallen are still, well, fallen. If we can keep our losses to one, then we can beseech the ancients for help (hopefully.) I'll try to curse the closer one. we can certainly outrun it. Once we have the space we can use all our ranged weapons on it. Kappi can tumble his way towards us. I know Vojtek is making a last stand, but that's okay I think he'll mess this thing up aplenty while everyone else enacts the plan.
GM thunderspirit
Kappi's +12 Acro is sufficient to exceed the ooze's CMD.
Blue tries to squeeze Ali!
maintain grapple vs. Ali's CMD: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 Success
constrict: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 plus acid: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Gained 14 from Edward, lost 10, net gain is pts.
Red lashes out at Vojtek!
slam: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
dmg: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 plus acid: 1d6 ⇒ 4 and free grab attempt: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Not enough to get his 23 CMD while raging!
Round 2
Kappi — Escape Artist for the, well, escape
Edward — healing goodness (14 pts to Ali)
Ali — ouch on the reroll :-(
baddies — squeeze/fail to grab
Davosh — up
Vojtek — up
Davosh and Vojtek are up to finish Round 2!

Round 3
Still reeling in horror from time spent in the clutches of the grey acid booger, the lad realizes that Ali is still caught and will surely die if she is not rescued soon.
The rogue steels himself and starts up a barrage of thrown steel in and around Ali to try and slay the monster or at least make it let her go.
PointBlank/Precise Shot/Deadly Aim
First throw 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 - 1 = 14
dagger 1d4 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 7
Second throw 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 1 - 1 = 28 bugger waste of a 20

Round 3
Edward will Delay till after Ali.
Will it be ok if Ali tries to escape the grapple and needs assistance that I can do that behind her in init? If there is no chance for success, I was going to CLW again. So as to not slow things down, I am putting rolls up for all of it.
Assist in escape grapple, or longbow attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 or +6 for the attack
Healing roll, or Longbow Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6 +1 if it is for healing
No matter what happens Kappi is healed for 5, Edward is 33/41

Round 3
Kappi's first axe hits, and the ooze suddenly releases Ali and stops moving! His second strikes true on Blue!

dmg: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 plus acid: 1d6 ⇒ 6 and free grab attempt: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Round 4
Edward glad that Ali is away from the slime watches it dissapate leaving only one more facing the enraged barbarian. Dropping the life link with Kappi, he then concentrates to link with Ali. After the link is formed he concentrates and receives some healing from Apsu.
LoH Self: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
After that is done Edward steps up directly behind Vojtek to help remove him from the ooze if he becomes stuck.
Immediate Drop life link just after Kappi is healed, Move 5'step, Standard establish Life link with Ali. Swift LOH Self Results Kappi +5 hp Edward -5+5 HP 33/45

Kappi flings a javelin into the ooze!
Ali follows suit with an arrow of her own!
Edward heals himself, life links with Ali, and moves up behind Vojtek!
The ooze lashes out at the north man!
slam: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
dmg: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 plus acid: 1d6 ⇒ 6 and free grab attempt: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
The psuedopod smacks the barbarian, but even as it attacks the ooze quivers and collapses into a pile of acrid goo!
Out of combat!
Davosh the Wanderer
"By the Ancestors! That was... not good. How is everyone?"
Davosh immediately goes over and starts poking at the leftovers with some detritus on the floor... "I think I have an idea..." He never explains the idea to anyone, but simply goes back to checking in on everyone.
Ready when you are. I'll dance the lights down the hall.
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein
Once the oozes collapse into inert piles of goo, Ali catches her breath, wincing at the burning wounds. She goes to her friends, gives each of them a strong hug, looks them in the eye, and says Thank you for saving my life!
She is still badly wounded... (9/35)
Kappi Matarito
At Ali's hug Kappi awkwardly pats her arm and turns beet red. The lad is still not quite sure how he feels about the elven woman. Since she is older than his grandmother she is sort of like his (much) older sister, yet he is still reminded of her strange exotic beauty.
Davosh the Wanderer
Davosh goes over and hugs Kappi too. The hug persists until DAVOSH feels uncomfortable.
GM thunderspirit
Nothing is lurking immediately nearby, so you have plenty of time to collect yourselves, heal up, etc.
Davosh the Wanderer
Davosh looks about the room, encouraging Kappi to do the same. "Perhaps the offerings of the less prepared are here for the taking." After searching the room, Davosh motions for the Varisian to advance.
Kappi Matarito
Okay, the oracle whips out his wand and uses it on Ali to heal her. is Joe otherwise occupado?
Kappi moves up and is ready to keep exploring this cave. He holds his short sword in hand again.
I moved everyone up on the map, adjust as you see fit
GM thunderspirit
Kappi moves into the next chamber and searches thoroughly. There are a few old broken bones but nothing of particular interest.
Beyond the empty cave, another cavern winds off ahead.
